Friendly staff, one of which upgraded our room (at no extra charge) on account of our little one. Parking was a nightmare near the hotel so we took advantage of the hotel's secure parking (8 euros)
Nothing Noisy, dirty, in disrepair (shower, bed, tv, heating)
Breakfast was fairly good according to french standards, the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. No airco in our bedroom.
Its location was excellent for walking around town.
It was very easy to get to from the train station.
Staff very helpful and friendly especially given that it was an onvernight stay which helkped us make the most of it. None worth mentioning
Comfatable for a family whilst staying overnight during travel. Not English speaking at all but personally i think this is nice
Availability of private car parking area Breakfast was somewhat chaotic
Easy to find, nice quiet room (as requested)
I liked the accessibility to the city and the regular train line. Staff was very helpful No
Its location in the city and the parking The bed was too soft and the bathroom was not clean (champignons)
Secure parking. Good restaurant, well frequented.
very secure car park and excellent breakfast reception etc good the floors due to the age of the hotel were up and down and not ideal for my wife with a walking disability there was no baggage trolley for moving luggage to the room
The lovely, deep bath!
hemquality of the breakfast and the friendly service at reception The cost of having to park a car on top of the accomodation costs
Secure parking, although a bit expensive Bathroom was spacious but not exactly clean
quiet rooms although in the heart of the city next to busy taffic roads, clean rooms, air conditioning in all rooms No variation at all in breakfast during 7 days stay / issues about car parking (moving of cars to allow other visitors to leave earlier, ...)
in the middle of the city no
We reserved a non smoking room but were given a smoking one. We were moved to a non smoking room, but were downgraded so the room was not as nice. You could barely shut the bathroom door as it banged into the toilet. The air conditioning did not work so we could not sleep due to the heat. This is a shame as the hotel itself is really nice
nice hotel room, very clean, well decorated, very modern.Hotel cituated in the center of the city, well located, Parking available, but not suitable (procedure, available spaces, to narrow...) Breakfast room too small, no privacy since other people were placed at your table. Poor parking facility.
The relax atmosphere, nice environment in the wine yards and the festivity of two musicians on Friday evening No
Incredible castle located in the heart of Burgundy. Historical monument where modernism perfectly harmonize with the ancient. Apartment was like the work of art, very large and comfortable. Stuff - open and helpful. Golf club reachable in just 5 minutes. The price is more than adequate, because for us, it was more than just a hotel, the spirit lives there. Thank you for making our holidays more special as well as this beautiful region . PS. The castle vine is perfect :)
I missed a restaurant
A very peaceful stay and very comfortable beds. Studio well designed. Breakfast delivered to our door was a treat! Shame there is no restaurant.
It was very peaceful and quiet. Exactly what we wanted after 4 days in Paris. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the wine on offer. The apartments are very modern and the beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept in. We spent 4 days there but could have stayed considerably longer.
Very professional staff. Excellent restaurant
coffee making facitilties; gated parking very poor and overpriced breakfast
A convenient hotel, (stopover on journey to Provence). We like Novotel for it's consistent quality & comfort etc. The cuisine! Nothing changes really! Poor choice, expensive & could be better.
it was noisy in the night, the food was a bit dry and cold
Room, service and breakfast excellent, as always. I have been wondering for years now why the food in all the Novotel restaurants (called Coté Jardin) is so bad and overpriced. Could the Novotel management please decide to turn all the Cotés Jardin into nice brasseries with good food at an affordable price? The faithful Novotel customers would thank you from the bottom of their hearts!
this was an average hotel but the location was good for us as it was right off the highway. the service at the restaurant was very slow and the food was not very good. The beds were not very comfortable.
Well-equipped, helpful staff, easy to find, convenient. Room in good order. Nice breakfast. Why do you require a minimum number of words?
Ease of access from Motorway. Poor quality of food, i.e. overcooked and cold. General service in restaurant I would consider poor.
Very convenient for the trip to Italy. Just of the motorway but no road noise at all. The last time I stayed at this hotel was some 12 - 15 years ago. It still looks and feels the same as it did then with little or no updates. On my return to the uk we stayed at Reims Novotel. A much nicer and more modern hotel and room. Again I had stayed there before , however this hotel has moved with the times and has adjusted to the modern needs.
It was good to reach it after a long journey and it is pleasantly situated with open country view to the rear. The dining facilities are basic but acceptable. Not really. Maybe a wee bit impersonal appart from the reception.
enough parking places in front of the hotel; very friendly staff that speaks very good English; recommended only for passing. room and bathroom very small; much too small double bed; not a single German television channel; no toilet broom; the maintenance of the breakfast buffet were very sloppy, the price is too expensive.
Free wifi Bathroom dirty Restaurant closed
Hotel clean excellent selection of breakfast - tea and coffee facilities in rooms No bad points really
The hotel was easy to find and included free parking. The staff were very friendly and tried there best to speak English. The location was quiet. You have to hold the shower because there was no where to clip it on the wall. The pillows were a bit small.
We arrived at the hotel at 4.30p.m. on Sunday afternoon and it was closed. A note on the door said to enter our booking confirmation number. This was not acknowledged. We then had to ring an emergency number and 10 minutes later someone arrived but the hotel booking no. was not compatible with the booking com no. We paid for the room and breakfast via a machine and a key dropped down with a room number on it. Although the bed was clean the room was tired and toit was 38degrees we had to open the window and the room was filled with small flies because there were horses in the field to the rear. We discovered that the restaurant was closed and there was nowhere in the vicinity to get a meal because it was an industrial area. The above says it all. We went for breakfast the following morning and left without even seeing a receptionist. Needless to say we will not be returning.
Food reasonable but not spectacular; room cheap; one member of staff very helpful Room very basic; one member of staff not very helpful
It had beds to fall asleep on and a shower sort of, so we were just about able to get clean and have a sleep. The hotel was absolutely filthy, the room was inhabited by half the local spider population, which obviously didn't bother housekeeping in the slightest, the maid decided to come into the room one morning, she didn't even bother to knock first! Just opened the door and started coming in till she realised we was in there still. The shower only had a holder at bath level, really handy that, least it hooked in the towel holder.
Quality/Price ok. Nice view from the rooms and breakfast area. very helpfull personal, on our departure, they recomand us to visit Cluny, which was a very good choice, to get the fealing of old time France. Thank you.
It is very difficult to write 15 wards about things I liked about this hotel. I think it is possible, that is the worst value for money hotel that I have stayed in. Where do I start? Steep steps up to reception - very friendly. Room uncomfortably hot, bath-room grubby. Hot food at breakfast, finished at 9.45am, when breakfast finished at 10.30. Toilets for general use, by the reception, were disgusting at10.00am and when I reported it to the receptionest was told they were clean at 8.00am. I also noticed the disabled toilet is down a steep flight of stairs. I did ask to speak to the manager and was told - He was on holiday!!
The location. The air conditioning system was completely insufficient and even setting the system at 15 degrees we were unable to cool the room down. This was very disappointing considering how much we paid to stay at the hotel
Secure car park and friendly staff
Staff were very friendly, especially the restaurant waitress. Our room was very warm when we arrived. Outside temp was close to 30C, room not much different. Someone from reception came up to take a look at the air con, said to turn it right down (to 15C). This we did but no joy. Complained next day again, was promised an air con engineer would come up to room. No sign of said person. Another uncomfortable night, and when complained once more, was told that we could have been offered another room if we had complained at time of checking in! Were offered a 10% discount for one night only as compensation.
The reception clerk was particularly helpful and drew us a map of the restaurant we wished to go to.The situation of the hotel near the River Saone was excellent. The area was quiet at night and we felt safe walking back to the hotel at night. Macon is a clean city with beautiful flowers and a "romantic garden" walk near the river.
restuarant was closed - it would have been nice to know that in advance
The receptionist was very welcoming; we liked the decor and the atmosphere and we enjoyed the breakfast. It was easy to find the hotel and the surroundings were very pleasant.
Lovely hotel in a nice situation. Superb rooms and facilities.
Design of the rooms, location, personal note
Fantastic, friendly owners/staff
We enjoyed a brief, but excellent stay. The owners could not have been more welcoming.
Excellent staff who were very helpful. Good location on the river and close to the city centre. Rooms well decorated, cleand and with a spacious bathroom.
Functional and adequate with a most pleasent owner and a good breakfast.
Booked garden room thinking it sounded attractive, wrong! it was certainly a room off the garden but was dull, poorly fitted out and in fact quite depressing. The bathroom was clean but I didn't want to spend any time in there , the fittings were old and tired. In fact that sums up the whole place. We parked on the street as Monsieur seemed reluctant to show us the garage. Did not enjoy the walk into town after dark! There was an unpleasant smell in the public areas. Breakfast was definitely not worth the money.
The hotel was in very poor state of repair in fact I would say that there has been very little investment in the last 10 years. The shower didn't work well and the grouting around the shower tray was black with mould.
No air conditioning!!
The manager was very nice and helpful, especially as I was from England The telephone in my room did not work. It was not 7 minutes from Macon station as stated, more like 27.
Cheerful fabric; window provided good air circulation, easy access to city centre; secure parking; quiet; helpful manager
The food was excellent and the location was quiet. the gardens were attractive and the pool was a bonus. The bedrooms were ok but rather stark and in lacking in little touches to make it more homely/attractive. Many French hotels are similar
very kind people ,good breakfast but not luxury no egg and ham, very spacious rooms, very quiet room and garden we don't like tapis on the floor in the room
The English speaking was very attentive, including ironing my shirt. There is a hedge between the building and the main road, but during the day, it was possible to hear the traffic. Not really an issue in the dead of the night.
The hotel is at walking distance from all major tourist attractions in Avignon. Although it is situated on a very busy road, the room is well insulated: with the windows closed you don't hear the road. The rooms are roomy and clean. The parking under the hotel grants immediate access to the hotel and is guarded. The service is extremely slow. One person had to manage the reception desk and the bar next to it. We were lucky to have paid nearly half of the regular price. That price offers good value for money. The regular price (€ 250 per room and per night) is too high. For me this was more a three star than a four star hotel.
A solid chain hotel - the pool was nice if a touch cold! We had a very small room - flat on the bed or standing were the only options!
Nicely situated in the city centre, easy to find with (restricted) parking availability. Room was efficiently double glazed keeping out all external noise and with efficient, quiet, aircon. Staff most helpful, english speaking, also a good, continental, breakfast available. Will certainly book again should the opportunity arise. It may seem petty but it was impossible to close the curtains in the room, completely. This affected not only privacy but also street light entering the room.
Good and clean hotel. Good breakfast. Near to the center.
located downtown.nice features rooms. small bath
Good location, quiet hotel, good breakfast; excellent for a stop towards the côte d'azur. Small room and tiny bathroom
Great stopover hotel, secure parking, bright modern and clean rooms. Unfortunately it was raining so didnt use pool but it looked nice. Good breakfast. No tea/coffee making facilities in room but they have a machine by reception for complimentary hot drinks.
The hotel is directly across from the train station, my priority. In addition, it is a great hotel. The room was large and comfortable, with a small reading room. The bathroom was large. The staff allowed us to lock our luggage there after checkout. The city of Macon does not have much to offer tourists, but it was easy to get to Cluny Abbey, my main interest there. The so-called internet access was not as expected. There are so many folters on the computer that I could not even check my e-mail. It is set up with a search engine for children only.
The people in the hotel were very friendly, the hotel looks modern in an old building. The breakfast was complete and good.
newly renovated rooms, free internet, complementary coffee facilities.
The rooms are big, well furnished and clean, with a small kitchen so you can cook your own meals. Internet worked very well indeed. Unfortunately the house next door was being renovated so that meant huge noise and drilling from 8 o'clock on. Also there is no stuff around apart from during the day. If something goes wrong you cannot contact anyone. Due to my unforseen early departure I had a probem negotiating the right price for the stay.
Comfortable, well equipped, clean, well managed Difficult to find from instructions provided
only 1 night it was pleasant and relaxing the picture on line when booking the family room showed what i thought was 2 bedrooms and thats why i booked that room. When we arrive and went to the room it had 2 double beds in the same room, it was rather uncomfortable sleeping in the same room as parents. I asked the hotel about this and they said we could have another room but it would cost 50 euro more. I declined this.
That it was easy to find, with parking and a nice clean spacious room with good ensuite. Lack of air conditioning - very hot at night!!!
We found the apartment to be very clean with very comfortable beds. This was an ideal place for an overnight stay and we would definitely stay again.
Very well equipped appartment - enough space - young families have access to all necessary facilities. Airconditioning is missing in summer time.
The ease of the rooms, for a young family - the travel cot fitted in the room and left us with plenty of space. The kitchenette area is perfect for warming up / cooking simple dinner - perfect stop over for us, thank you
We rented a big family room and used it for 2 people. The nice thing about an appartment is the kitchentte with fridge, so you can eat meals when you please. The room was really big and had 2 double beds. The finsihing of the room could have been slightlty better. The second bed should have been separated by a curtain (rideaux) to increase privacy. The bath room could have been a bit bigger to make it comfy. It was impossible to bend down and wash the feet in the tiny shower. The windows did not have airing positions (common problem in Europe).
The big room. Payment for number took 2 times. Now I try to receive back the money
Clean, spacious, kitchenette, good for extended stay, attractive price, not far to train station, quiet.
The hotel was obviously in the process of upgrading the bedrooms but still maintained a high standard of service.
One of the easier Campaniles to find. Just off the motorway junction.
quietness, proximity to the motorway
Close to large city and motorway Staff was reading newspapers in the kitchen instead of attending the reception on Sunday morning.
Staff were super and very helpful.
ease of booking in friendly staff
Friendly helpful staff, restaurant convenient and good Room was smokey
We arrived for dinner at the same time as a coach load of visitors but we were still attended to quickly and efficiently.
Breakfast was excellent and the pool was a big hit. Staff were very helpful. Location good for onward travel. The rooms were small but we were hardly in them, so wasn't a problem.
Helpful staff, excellent breakfast and comfortable room
Good location, helpful staff, nice buffet style meals Small room, dark furiture, bright yellow bathroom.
It was everything I expected for and was lloking for
Simple hotel on the entry of the city, far from the city centre. Simple rooms with basic furnishing, all clean. Very good and rich buffet breakfast.Dinner is offered in the hotel restaurant (daily menu). Suitable for the stopover in the area.
The best Macon hotel is ok for a stop over if travelling across france, rooms ok but bathroom could be cleaner. Has lcd tv with dvd ideal when travelling with kids. Breakfast very plesent. we arrived at 13.00 hrs but nobody at check in till 16.00hrs not good when you have tired hungry kids.
the hotel is far from the town center; room and toilet are small
Friendly, accomodating staff. Location ideal for 'mid France' stop over, good places to eat nearby but not ideal for a look around the City. Pool was nice and very welcome after a long day in the car.
Attitude of mmanager and reception. Very pleasant
Private parking - Buffets Very small rooms and very small beds
Easy access to motorway. Clean room and a comfortable bed. Good hotel at a very reasonable price for an overnight stop. Distance to Macon. No dinner at hotel and no restaurants at short walking distance in the vicinity. Bathroom rather small.
Leaving the next morning It was dire
The staff were very helpful and the room was clean and tidy. The hotel's out of the way and it's a 2k hike to the nearest decent restaurant, however, it's worth the effort.
room to sit at desk, slightly larger than Premiere Classe No secure parking. A bit more expensive than relevant competition.
All rooms smell of smoke. No ventelation.. Poor especially for non smokers
Lovely room. Nice area for the kids to play outside. Good value for money. Very clean. W/C Facilities were a little small- but beggars can't be choosers.
Excellent welcome by hotelier, very friendly and accommodating. Bathroom was tiny, shower 'door' didn't fit so bathroom floor became saturated.
The breakfast was poor
Location Ventilation - Not good
Good location for a stop-over on a trip to southern France. Close to highway. Traffic noise
