The relaxing atmoshere and the room, after we had transfered Being asked to leave the bar at eleven p.m.and not happy with the service at the bar
The hotel had all the facilities that you would expect of a four star rated hotel, and we would recommend it.The food provided was plentiful and varied, of buffet style, but occasionally found to be luke warm. However, my wife and I enjoyed both the food and accomodation. The only critisizms was that the carpet on the corridors serving the hotel rooms were a little shabby and threadbare in places and in need of replacement. Sky TV. only showed one british chanel.
We were playing bowls and sightseeing Self service restaurant
The food was excellent and the hotel was generally very good, but we stayed at the Best Hotel at Benalmedina last year and expected the same extremely high standards. However, there were hundreds of very noisy older people at the hotel which rather spoilt it for us.
food was good and we would recomend to friends
the service and food were all exellent , and have told friends about it , we are looking forward to returning very soon . was a little too far from bars ect , other than that it was perfect.
Terrible food. Terrible beds, no support Poor quality of food, and cold and unappetizing. We left 2 dats early!
We had a lovely room with a huge bed and it was nice and clean.the beds were a bit hard but they are never the same as being at home.If we come back down to Majacar I am sure that we would stay with you again. Unfortunately we found the food in the resteraunt was not very hot.The good thing is that you do have a microwave so that we could warm it up.
Lovely location and great value for money, staff were helpful and friendly! Just that there was no room service for food or drinks and no kettle to do our own drinks.
Swimming pool was very good and the evening meal buffet was good quality and vast selection. It was more of a hotel geared up for the spanish holiday makers and not really international. Bar service was slow and the matresses not very comfortable.
Very nice place to stay. Excellent food and great swimming pools
Very comfortable and excellent VFM as half board. Food was not a la carte but very enjoyable. Bar prices also very reasonable for a 4* It is a large hotel and our room was a long walk from reception with luggage. Unfortunately no bell boy was on duty to assist.
The food was very good and the pools werenice and clean
the staff the tv was not tuned in
3rd vist in 12 months - all facilities including the golf.
food cleanliness staff
Good food & facilities
slept and ate as weather was not good enough to use outdoor facilities no tea and coffee making facilities
price cold food
Location Our second visit - not as good as the first. Had asked for room with a sea view but got room on the right side of the Hotel as you look at the sea - no sun on balcony all day and had to sit on the balcony to get a glimpse of the sea. The hotel is doing building work - loud drilling banging starting at 8.30 in the morning and going on until 8.00pm. This is totally unacceptable and does not make for a relaxing stay. This is supposed to be a four star Hotel - should the minibar really be empty. Also charged on arrival - get the feeling the management do not really trust their guests.
We liked the comfort of the room very much, and the food was excellent. The barman was a little unpleasant and the selection of wine in the bar limited, only one choice of white.
very friendly staff , great facilities , position was perfect very little , if any road noise . overall although a little on the large size would stay again . food was a little bland , and could have been warmer
The staff were very helpful and friendly and the hotel was very good value for money in a pleasant location.
Service and assistance received from hotel, restaurant, bar staff The cleaning department uses aerosol sprays extensively; it caused allergic reactions and I know they damage the ozone layer; they should discontinue using them.
Sea View Minibar was empty - not good enough for a four star Hotel. The Hotel charged my credit card on arrival. This is unacceptable. Food, especially dinner buffet was always cold.
This is a ultra-modern hotel with very friendly staff and lots of open spaces. It is only 10 minutes walk to the centre of the beattiful Las Negros Villages which has a fantastic setting and a few good bars and seafood restaurants. It is an idylic place to visit and the hotel is in a convenient but quiet location. The hotel is almost impossible to find because it is not in the centre with the other hotels and there are no signs anywhere and no obvious street names. We had to ask 3 times. On entering Las Negros you come to a large roundabout. Take the 1st exit, up a slight hill and the hotel is 300m on the right at the north end of the village.
The service was excellent, the location was great (free street parking) and breakfast timetable was extensive so we could sleep in. Breakfast quality was fantastic. I recommend the spa facilities.
Great location. Very nice staff. Wonderful room view. Hard to find as no signs in town.
Roomy, modern and aesthetically attractive. Close to the beach which looks like an exotic tropical beach ahead of the Costa del Sol for example Poor reception. Slow and failed to use our debit cards correctly and had to pay cash which they were a bit reluctant to accept. Cards subsequently worked correctly on a cash machine they did not use alternative methods of using them. Companion's booking directly with them failed to show up on their computer and he had to fill in forms there and then. Expressed his disappointment to me.
The room was excellent, beds were large and comfortable. The food service was very good with lots to choose from. I have two complaints, firstly we had to wait for in a queue for an hour and a half to check in, we finally got to the desk to be told our room wasn't ready for us, even though this was now 2 15p.m. and the room was supposed to be available at 12p.m. The only other small thing is that the location of the hotel is only surrounded by other hotels, no bars or shops. At the time of our stay there was no entertainment provided and bar was closed by 12.
Good size of room, clean and good facilities. Close to the beach. Buffet meals good, something for everyone. Good value for money.
Location, food Having to pay as soon as I arrived, no where in the world takes payment beforehand. I wonder if the Spanish had to pay in advance as well? I think not.
Food excellent I did not like the way everything in the hotel was geared towards the spanish I was under the impression that it was an international hotel we all pay our money and should therefore receive the same treatment but this did not happen I realise it is spanish staff and lots of spanish guest but your staff need to learn to be unbiased and in my opinion would not reccomend to english people
The position of the hotel was good, but not much to do if you didn't have transport, plenty of sunbeds, comfortable room, friendly staff. The food was cold, and the service in the restaurant was poor, not clearing tables ect.
It a mixture of nationalities not jus English.Very friedly people
The whole experience was very nice and although we were there for just two nights, we will definately return for another short break. The balcony of our room overlooked the gardens and pools of the hotel and some one hundred metres away was the beaches and the Mediteranean: wonderful. We are sure that we will not be the first to comment on, not a complaint, the fact that the hotel was too far from the nearest bars to walk to and the hotel bar was too big to have any real atmosphere
location at beach and general atmosphere of Mojacar Playa region as a resort area and the November sunshine . Excellent hotel restaurant. very good breakfast Impersonal; nobody at desk or in Restaurant ever asked the usual " is everything alright " or " are you enjoying your dinner ". Service of Coffee at morning buffet is not satisfactory; slow, cold.
The bathroom was beautiful and the products were of high quality. The staff were very unfriendly and when we tried to book at the restaurant for 2200 they looked horrified, so we went somewhere else.
my door wouldn't stay shut without being locked. No safe in room (door missing - and not previously advised). Television did not have the full set of channels in either of our two rooms. Restaurant / bar service was surly - and for the pool, non-existent. Price of wines was far too high for Spanish restaurants.
The location The Parador is an old hotel whose customers tend to be mainly Spanish and we felt at times ignored when requiring waiter service.
A quiet (while we visited during October), well designed, modern hotel with all the facilities that could reasonably be expected for a good quality hotel in its class, with friendly and helpful staff and good buffet breakfast.
Staff very professional and helpful. Hotel quiet and well run. Nothing.
Very close to the sea. Has sea view almost from every room. Good restaurant. None.
Very good service, very comfortable room and bathroom. Excellent breakfast. In fact excellent for everything. N/A
location, good parking, near beach and nice aras to relax in resturant very expensive, compared to local resturants. room not as shown in advert, still pre renovation.
excelent location in the middle of nature. Beautifull vews from your room and the sea at 15 min. walking. Silence !!!!!
The hotel is very nice and the view is amazing. On't forget to book the beach view !!
The surrounding scenery is spectacular. Hotel is nicely and comfortably furnished in minimilist style. The sunrise on the sea is not to be missed. Very romantic and 'get away from it all' place. Our room was littered with dead and alive bugs that were the size of a cent. As the receptionist did not speak any English we just binned them and gone on with it! Pool not in use even though it was ideal weather for a swim. Do not think hotel is worthy of 4 stars.
The location of the hotel is great for peace, relaxation, hiking...in the middle of the country, but close to the beach with beautiful views. We found some big bugs in our room. The walls were very thin and we could clearly hear the guests in the next room.
Beautiful views of the surrounding countryside, very simple but stylist room and bathroom, short drive away from some lovely beaches, quiet and untouristy unlike many areas of spain. Was not informed that the advertised hotel pool was actually closed and is only open for a few months in the summer, hotel staff speak very little english, when paying at the end of the holiday the card machine would not accept any of our cards so had to drive to San Jose to get money out in order to pay, hotel in general a bit overpriced.
The rooms are nice, spacious and decorated with taste. The bed is very comfortable. The staff is not very friendly.
It is so remote if you want peace and quite. Great views all around you. Good food and very nice rooms. the directions to the hotel wre not very good at all. try google maps or tom tom and you end up 50 km away like we were. they need to make a big point that they are near san jose not almeria. no hard standing for motor cycles to park just soft gravel like the very long drive way so not very bike friendly.resturant staff spoke no english and no english menus. so bad in fact could not even understand 'beer' Take the trouble to find it though and you will be rewarded with fantastic views.
The hotel is in a quiet and secluded area, and it was very peaceful there. I loved it!
location and facilities very good. variety of meals
Shower was boken, but was repaired immediately. Hot buffet food was always cold, eg. English breakfast.
A comforable well appointed Hotel, friendly and helpful staff, good location close to beach, only a short stay but very enjoyable.
We arrived at a busy time but reception staff were pleasant and efficient. The buffet style restuarant provided a good variety of food both at breakfast and dinner. There is also a grill producing very good, freshly cooked meat and fish. Restaurant staff friendly and efficient. Although cleanliness was very good, the hotel looked a bit tired and would benefit from some refurbishment
The location was ideal for my requirements. The hotel was full of very noisy Spanish pensioners. The food was plentyful, but bland and repetittive.
Good position on beach excellent views from rooms No kettle or tea making equipment in room
The food was excellent. Staff very friendly. Location very good. The hotel is in need of refurbishment. The shower head was hanging off the wall and there was a bad odour from the bathroom all of the time. The floor was not clean, either in the bathroom part or the bedroom and it was not mopped the five days we were there.
I have stayed at this hotel twice in two years and I can't compliment the staff more for the friendly and efficient service that we received. The hotel is used by spanish holiday makers, which adds to it's charm and atmosphere, you won't find any yobs here! The hotel is well used and is very clean (cleaning staff are lovely!!) the is food excellent and again the staff are brilliant. Location is great just opposite the beach and Mojacar is a lovely but quiet and reserved resort. All in all good value for money and we will return again, a great hotel.
Close to the beach, quiet, great views, nice grounds, good sized rooms. although a good variety of food the quality was poor ,some of the hot food cold or part cooked, but salads were fresh. poor TV reception, No WIFI internet.
We would return but not high season, we enjoyed the hotel being half empty for most of our stay. The staff were very helpful and responded very fast to our requests. It was good value for the money, the room lacked a lot of basic necessities ie cups, bowls, sharp knives, etc.Perhaps a small welcome Pack would have been helpful [milk coffee tea washing up liquid etc]after a long day traveling [arrival at hotel 22;45hrs].The apartment was not comfortable and it looked old and worn considering it is a relatively new construction.
food was very basic .rooms very good.no wi fi .
clean and value for money ,we will stay again ,a big thank you to all hotel staff . we had a two bed apartment and found the second bedroom very dark
We really enjoyed our stay, the staff were very helpful and the booking in and out of the hotel was stress free. We didn't eat at the hotel so cannot really comment about the food. The room was very spacious and clean. The kitchen was small but well equipped. All the rooms are facing the sea and it was lovely to take in the views from the balcony which again is very spacious. The pools were a bit too chilly for us to use but looked well maintained and the areas surrounding the pool were clean and tidy. There was nothing that we didn't like but a toaster in the room would have been a bonus for us as the grill on the microwave took such a long time to brown the toast.
With self catering option, got a one-bedroom apartment with basic cooking facilities, large balcony and sea view in a 4-star complex for only 28 euros a night for 2 people. The 3 small independent bars opposite the hotel were very friendly, offered good food & were cheap. The quiet location at the western end of Mojacar suited us, but may be too quiet for others.
The staff were exellent and ever so friendly. The breakfast was better than I have received in Hotel's with a much higher star rating. They cooked a full English Breakfast fresh to order each morning and all the other usuals were on offer. We used the hotel as a touring base and it fit the bill perfectly.
Very helpful owner (juan) I would stay there again
The Breakfast was first class
very friendly hotel directly opposite the beach
Location and staff No tea and coffee making fascilities and no English TV and no availability of food and drinks in the evening
the food and the friendliness of the staff no
Earing in mind the excellent inclusive breakfast the value for money was superb.
We found staying there convenient for our requirements. It was OK
Great people, Lovely breakfast, Clean rooms,Close to beach, Private parking nothing
Very pleasant staff. Very helpful and friendly. We liked it souch we have booked again
Comfortable, clean, with a friendly and helpful owner. Although overlooking road the excellent glazing kept any noise to a minimum. Great extra touches:bottled water in room, toiletries and white towels in bathroom. Excellent value. Nothing to say!
The breakfast, the scenery, the beauty of the place
Very beautiful location. The owner was friendly and helpful with lots of information about the area. Quiet, off-the-beaten path, excellent food, comfortable bed and good shower!. Nice change of pace after hotels in the big cities.
A hidden gem in the hills! The cottage we stayed in was very tastefully decorated, had a wonderful rain shower and a lovely view. A truly tranquil place to relax and unwind.
We liked the location and the atmosphere. The setting for fantastic and the attention to detail with the Moorish design of gardens, waterways etc., was excellent.
Typical andalucian style ... excellent food very sensitively prepared by johaness the owner No
Loved the hotel! We spent the last 3 days of our holiday, visiting the spectacular nearby beaches in the nature reserve Cabo de Gata. I couldnot have made a better decision. The pool has a decent size, which is important to me. Staff is extremely friendly and makes you feel at home.We arrived after midnight (but no complaints) and were immediatly invited to use the swimming pool and have a glass of wine next to it.Very much enjoyed the magic of the location, the hospitality of the staff and the wonderful breakfast! Ten out of ten. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
The location was excellent for accessing the nearby natural park of Cabo de Gata. The town of Nijar was within walking distance and very well served with shops, restaurants etc. We visited over Christmas and the food was excellent, with a very good choice of breakfast dishes.
When we arrived we were invited for a lovely meal although we didn't subscrive in advance. Our room had lovely atmosphere, de bed was good, floor-heating a relaxing douche, privacy. At 31 decembre we joined a great meal, very well cared, with a very cheerful international company and had a lovely evening. We went to nice coast (Cabo dia gato), to the mountains and Granada. The hotel is outside but close (walking distance) to a nice village Nigar. The people of the hotel are very friendly, easy-going and helpful.
a very friendly family hotel great position very clean spacious rooms 8.00pm start time for evening meal........too late
The room, food and location was good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Pity that mid week we had to walk to another hotel for meals but understand why it was necessary. Smoking in the bar was really nasty, you should ban all smoking.
Excellent location. Good facilities.
the friendliness of staff no
good location the other guests, too many english people abroad
Large room with large terrace over looking the sea, great fro watching the sunrise from the sea. Wow.
Excellent would stay again
Value for money, very clean and excellent location.
Evening buffett good. Brealkfast good. Dinng room ambiance good , Dining room staff helpfull. Gardens well kept hotel rooms very clean but a bit tired. not what we expected from the description, rooms bit tired, maybe we expected too much from a "junior suite"
friendly helpful staff; location; ambiance of hotel and grounds; good and plentiful buffet, attractively presented for evening meal; breakfast buffet - excellent scrambled eggs and good variety of foods from which to choose, fresh hot tea and coffee. Overall good value for money. no quiet, cigarette- smoke free area, indoors, to sit and relax in the evening to play cards or just chat.
The nature without tourism.
External rooms with view of Alahambra were well worth the money Internal room with no view was claustrophic, tiny and not worth the money
Very nicely decorated, kind people and relaxed atmosphere.
Staying at Cortijo Los Malenos is like coming home. In all our years of travel, we have never had a more relaxing stay in a truly beautiful part of Spain. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Los Malenos has been designed and built with loving care and amazing attention to detail. The staff are friendly and eager to help with any requests and the owner has extensive knowledge of the surrounding area.
This is a lovely place to stay. The farmhouse is stunning and each room is beautifully appointed with fabulous furniture and private terraces. The owner and her staff are so so friendly, and although the staff don't speak english we managed with my small amount of spanish and lots of hand waving. The surrounding area is serene, rocky hills with the odd farmhouse, and just the sound of the wind blowing through the grasses. I would love to visit in spring to see the flowers. The beaches are many, untouched and lovely but you need a car to get around. A very special place. Nothing.
