“This is a very pleasant Brazilian pousada. The staff are very friendly, the location is delightful, and the breakfast is delicious. If you're not used to Brazil, you may find some of the facilities slightly basic (such as electric showers or imperfectly-fitting doors and windows), but that's just how Brazilian houses are. As a Brazilian pousada, the Kafundó can be recommended. Some of the reviews say the pousada doesn't serve dinner. When we stayed, it did, and the food was excellent (Brazilian buffet-style) -- but dinner finishes early (18:30-20:30 I believe) and you have to reserve it by breakfast-time on the same day. If you arrive later than that on your first night, the pousada will serve you a delicious hearty soup (free), which is pretty much a meal in itself. The shortest drive from the pousada to Inhotim is 13km (20 minutes), of which 3km is on an unsurfaced road. Those 3km are a bit rough but not terrible, and we didn't have any particular difficulties with a standard city car (Nissan Versa). There is an alternative route involving all-asphalt roads which is a bit longer, but it's not so scenic.”

“This is an absolutely adorable special place to stay. The first thing is the way you are treated by the staff....its like you are invited to stay in a wonderful house...you can wake up when you want, eat when you want....the food is great but its a really wonderful part of being at one with nature. Simple clean comfortable rooms, watch the ducks while you have your breakfast. So much to love. Thank you for looking after us.”
