Like they say in real estate -- location location location. The park was extremely busy the day we arrived even at closing time. The next morning, however, we were able to enter the park before the public arrived. It was wonderful to walk the trails and enjoy the scenery (instead of standing in lines of people taking "selfies"). The Sheraton is expensive, yes. But the bed was comfortable and the pool area was very nice. The price of the hotel! But I made the choice so we could stay in the park. We also had a language barrier when we ordered our meal. Still, we enjoyed looking at the falls on the balcony as we struggled to make our meal choice understood.
Hotel needs upgrade . Too expensive fir the hotel conditions
The location is fantastic both for the views and the start of all the trails. The staff were all very helpful. There is a travel desk in the hotel and the main park reception is only a short walk, making it easy to organise activties. The pool was really nice. Remember your sunblock and bug spray when out on the trails. The hotel is more expensive than others of a similar quality in Argentina but you are paying for the location.
The view from our room was magnificent and this is what you come for after all. Although this hotel is expensive, it is well worth it on this basis. If you can go when there is a full moon, there are night walking tours of the falls which must be fantastic. A pity the musician in the restaurant found it necessary (although they maybe they were requests) to play Beatles and Frank Sinatra on the local harp - otherwise his playing of the music of the area was great.
The location was great. It was the only lodging within the park. You can get an early start on seeing the falls, before the masses of tourists arrive. The entire hotel needs an interior renovation. The rooms were dated and tired looking and were equivalent of a 3.5 star hotel.
nice location, inside the park, get to enjoy the fall one hour before other tourist arrive. The hotel is over price, next time will stay outside the park for 70% less and stay longer, enjoy more days in Iguazu Falls.
Location, location and location. The only hotel within he Argentina side of the park The hotel knows they have you - the food is awful, facilities old and even the store sells cash only while selling fake handbags and Oreos. Unless you usually sell LV bags next to Pert Plus.
First class. exceptional place and one of a kind inside the park. Expensive, and during a big storm the rain came into the room from the balcony.
one-of-a-kind location, friendly staff,
location. outdated and expensive for an angentinian hotel.
Great location inside Iguazu park.
Every thing was ecxellent, from the stuff that were very helpfull to the room that was more then I eccepted, the location is In the town but you feel like in an abended resort, Recomend this hotel with all my haert! The only thing that was unplesent is that the hotel chage huge comission on every thing that you order that not include in the hotel price, for example taxi to the Iguazu falls that the hotel asked for 180$, out side of the hotel in the taxi stand, they ask for 80-100$ (Peso)
Location close to bus station & main street. Staff helpful with good English. Very good buffet breakfast. Good value restaurant. Room very basic. Extensive mildew on ceiling. Not acceptable for 4* hotel. Jacuzzi full of leaves.
Excellent location if travelling without car. Bus station at only 100mts. Breakfast with plenty of things but not good quality.
Good location, helpful staff, nice lobby for lounging. Handy to restaurants and shops and bus terminal. Good advice at desk regarding tour options. A it over priced and breakfast could be improved, but given location it's to be expected.
The hotel is in a nice position, practically opposite the bus station in Puerto Iguazu, has easy access to the falls (20 mins by bus) and the town of Puerto Iguazu itself is laid back and calm. The hotel is in good condition, the rooms are reasonable size, and I was lucky enough to have a balcony overlooking the gardens and swimming pool
excellent breakfeast and dinner (buffet), friendlines of the staff,
The room was realy big the breakfast
right in town, close to restaurnts I want a refund. AC did not work, was old, elevators not working and a bus parked out front frpm 0600 hr woke me up with its engines and people yelling to get on.
We enjoyed our stay immensely. The rooms were large and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel's location was convenient for restaurant options and most importantly for access to the buses that take you to Iguazu Falls. The included breakfast was full of options and the coffee was plentiful. I would highly recommend this hotel and will be staying here on a return visit next year.
The location was great and many stores and restaurants were within walking distance of a few blocks, I suppose it's on the edge of what they'd consider as downtown Puerto Iguazu. It was also very conveniently located across the street from a cab spot so getting a taxi was very quick and easy. All the mosquitoes of which the Hotel had nothing in place to deter them away from the pool area so it was very difficult and uncomfortable to enjoy the pool area and bar during the evenings. The jacuzzi was also cold so I didn't understand why it was even there just spraying jets of water on the top and with no one using it, good thing the pool was fairly warm so it was somewhat comfortable and good to get a break away from the nasty mosquitoes.
nice guys as receptionists room was very poor and uncomfortable
very helpful staff, lovely room, beautiful gardens, nice pool, good restaurant, great location listening to unreasonable guests being rude to patient reception staff
Location was good. The staff was very helpful. Breakfast and evening meals were good and it also had a good holiday vibe and particularly loved the front porch area. The bathroom needed to be updated also the curtains in the room were off the track and in need of updating.
Very pleasant, clean, rooms and couteous helpful staff -handy to town centre
The location was excellent...and the falls are easily accessible by bus. The walls were pretty thin--could hear what was going on in the hallways and adjacent rooms.
I didn't like anything. The guy at the reception desk was very surly and would not show us the room until we handed over the credit card. If I had seen the room I would never have stayed. It was a triple and there was literally no room to move once the suitcases were in. The bathroom was tiny dilapidated and dingy we inspected the grounds were poorly maintained as was the pool .verandah chairs were beaten up old leather relics. Breakfast was very average. I complained immediately and asked for a refund for the remaining 2 nights. I was told it was impossible since we had gone through booking. Com. I had to use Skype to call booking. Com who were excellent and arranged and everything immediately. The staff were not very happy bit I was out of there by 10 am and never so happy to leave a hotel in my life. This is a 4 star hotel? How is this possible? It was awful.
great location.... close to the city centre but also in a quiet neighbourhood and lovely forest atmosphere. food was also delicious. bathrooms seemed a bit dirty due to rust.
Great views, helpful bellboys, nice atmosphere rooms needs attention, shower water pressure low, lighting in the restaurant very bright for dinner, disappointed in the outdoor restaurant not open in October as advertised.
Clean and friendly staff Swimmingpool water, dirty and hot (same as air temp.) Room entrance doors difficult to close, resulting in a lot of noice throughout the hallway especcially in morning and evening. Laundry prices are in us dollar!!! All other prices in pesos. This made our stay more expensive than expected
Clean. Comfortable. Nice outlook over the river.
hotel staff & services
Bathroom waterbugs, shower pipe came off in my hands
We have stayed at other Iguassu hotels - and thought this the best. No frills, but very comfortable and did just whatbit advertised.
This place is simply magical. I would recommend to any age group. They need to pave the road into the hotel, its very bumpy. But, it honestly kind of adds to the authenticity of the place.
Very well appointed hotel in a great location, deep in the rain forest (if that appeals). Some way from the Falls on the Argentine side which could be a consideration if arriving at the Brasil side airport, with as a result no accessible choice on where to eat apart from the hotel.
The location is absolutely marvelous, and the rooms (we had one with balcony) are great (very spacious). The setup of the hotel is very nice. Ask for Wilson (or Laura, his wife) if you need a taxi driver. An absolutely lovely couple for driving you around and they know a lot about the surroundings.Although we did not use the spa, it had a very nice atmosphere and it looked great. Unfortunately the food was of very bad quality and the hotel is desperately in need for a manager in charge of the restaurants who can train the staff in efficiency (after all it's a very luxury hotel...). Nevertheless the staff was very friendly. Better go for dinner to the village. Ask Wilson the taxidriver to show you the restaurants.(we liked Bocamorra, nice location at the river). The swimmingpools were not clean enough and were not maintained during the day, which was necessary as there were all kind of trees (in and) around the pool; a lot of leaves and insects fall into the water during the day). Be in time at the pool if you want to sunbath, as there are not enough beds when the hotel is full.
The location and the facilities are great, very good breakfast and nice staff. Brand new hotel in the middle of the jungle. The restaurant menu was a little bit poor for dinner but with very good meals.
Attentive staff. Excellent room. Natural setting away from town. Food was very overpriced for level of quality. Water dirty. Needs more filtering.
you can resume this hotel in one word .... wonderfull just the taxi to get there is expensive compared by other city (BA)
The location is great. I wouldn't want to stay at the Sheraton as it is run down and in the middle of the jungle! Loi suites is much more beautiful with great views and fantastic pool area. Also the breakfast is regal. Fantastic! The staff is extremely courteous WIFI in the room is extra charge Bar and Restaurant service is EXTREMELY slow. On multiple occasions and with different waiter I had to wait 20-30 (!!!) minutes for a cocktail to come out
an oasis in a wild jungle ,a combination between nature and modern design.Ten points no
Friendliness of the staff! No!
We were very pleassed with the warmth of the whole staff. We felt very comfortable and looked after. And of course it is placed in outstanding natural environment. If traveling with old people, with any walking problem it may be difficult to move inside the hotel because it is divided in blocks with rock sidewalks, bridges, steps, etc. Or you should ask for a room in the first block
Beautiful setting with wonderful pool.
The hotel is perfect. A nice place with excelent services. Nothing is bad at this hotel.
Lovely lodge, not far from Iguazzu Falls. The main building was wonderful and full of character. Winding decked paths through the rainforest surround lead to the room blocks tastefully hidden among the trees. The rooms are natural and roomy. Nice walks in the ground and a lovely pool. We would return.
It was a very comfortable log cabin experience in forest like surroundings. The hotel was decorated with wooden ornaments, like tree branches as candelabra, that made it unusual, almost native. So this hotel is for people who want an "adventure¨ hotel, it is not really a 5* hotel in terms of luxury or services. The breakfast was varied and good for hotels in Argentina. There was no sauna (steam room) which would have been nice in winter. The swimming pool was not heated and freezing cold in the winter so not much to do there in the evening.
Each guest room complex only has 2-4 units in the rain forest. The walkway to your room and the window views will be amazing. A chance of a lifetime. However, the room itself has all the luxuries of a full service hotel. Live entertainment was an unexpected bonus. Internet service in the guest rooms would be nice since a walk to the computer room in the rain could be a slight problem.
Hotel is unique, has hammocks on porch of each room and walkways in the jungle. Also a great breakfast. Taxi to Falls costs more than published, but not outrageous.
The location was incredible. We loved the room and the grounds were amazing.
I loved the hotel, particularly due to its location. It is in the middle of the rainforest, lush, green and beautiful. The breakfast is excellent with plenty of fresh fruit, juices, fresh bakery etc. We also did the jungle fly - which was absolutely awesome and great fun! I think the hotel has a really high standard and is fantastic value for money. Nothing to complain about, we had an excellent time!
Something a little different from the usual generic hotel. it was in a beautiful setting set in natural forest with small wooden lodges linked to the main lodge by wooden trails all very well lit .We had our own private veranda completely surrounded by trees and plants. there was lots of space in the room (2 large double beds) The pool was very clean and peaceful. Breakfast in the main lodge was plentiful and delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful with all our enquiries. They have their own restaurant but town is only a few minutes away by taxi.
A very well laid out hotel set in a secondary rain forest with wooden walkways to the bungalows set apart in the forest. The big fireplace in the reception room is a great place to sit and read a book or drink some red wine and warm up. The location is very convenient on the way to the falls (on the Arg side) and a short cab ride to the restaurants in Peurto Iguassu. The wireless did not work from the rooms as the signal was too weak, but it was available in the reception area. The staff could have been more informative on available options for eating out and tours etc. They have been very helpful sorting out issues with luggage left behind since we checked out.
buffet dinner open until late, good breakfast, well located Rooms less then you expect at the price. Staffs english was very weak but tried to be helpfull although we where misdirected to the bus stop.
rooms where large enough containing well for 4 person. Good bed quality need refresh the carpet in the corridor getting to the rooms.
Staff helpful - some English challenged but very willing to help. rooms had deadbolt locks requiring a key on both sides of door. interior manual latch would have been better
The comfort of the room and cleanliness. It is a very good hotel. The music too loud at the swimming pool area did not allow the place to be a relax/spa hotel. It was too expensive if compared with newer hotels with better view over the river/waterfalls. Food presentation can be improved. If cheaper, it would be excellent!
It gives the impression of having been a spectacular hotel some years ago - the swimming pool/spa area is remarkable: but it's a bit tired now. But it's value for money, it delivers pretty much as billed.
Facilities available Swimming pool not heated so could not use (admittedly we were out of season but hotel staff assured us it was heated). Expensive for what you get. Did not read booking conditions properly; local tax was a nasty surprise.
Great location, excellent breakfast buffet, lovely grounds Not enough staff at reception, too busy to answer questions
Like most visitors, I traveled to Puerto Iguazú to visit the spectactular national park surrounding the falls. Hotel Exe Cataratas was a few miles from the park entrance but transportation was easily arranged -- they'll call you a cab or you can take the AR$50 (~US$3.50) Rio Uruguay buses, which pick up and drop off less than a block from the hotel. In contrast to the hotel staff I met in the federal capital, the staff at Hotel Cataratas were warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful. My room was clean and large and comfortable, and the pool was a much-appreciated bonus when I wandered home exhausted after each day of exploring the park's trails. The hotel is neither in town nor in the park, but in-between (about 3/4 mile outside of town on the main road which connects the two) and while better food options are available in town, has acceptable hot food service (both buffet and a la carte) for visitors who are too tired at the end of the day to go exploring for dinner. WiFi worked better than the hotels at which I stayed in Buenos Aires. And after boxes in other hotels that barely chilled their contents at all, I was overjoyed to have a real working mini-fridge in my room and a bar where the staff would give me ice in the evenings so I could enjoy a cold drink while I remembered the day's adventures. Some of the facilities in the hotel are getting a bit run down -- it's an older property and it's in a harsh place -- but except for weak water pressure in my shower, my visit wasn't adversely affected by the aging of the property. Visitors expecting a shiny modern boutique hotel have other options to choose from -- but they're going to miss the friendly staff and comfortable rooms that made Hotel Exe Cataratas a winner in my book.
The attention of the hotel staff and the view.
nice place, beautiful grounds, easy to travel to Falls. fairly expensive for Argentina in general, and for off season in this area (Iguazu Falls).
good place to stay
Services (pool), food, entertainment
beautiful gardens and large, well furnished and comfortable rooms. Excellent service.
Pleasant staff. Did not realize that this was mainly a casino (98% of guests) and also that it was not actually in the park. We were there to see the park and were not offered or informed about the 50% discounted rate if you spend any time in the casino Pool not kept clean at end of day - full of insects
Bathroom and room was large. The garden was good. Some staff was very helpful. The hotel is not at Leading Hotels standard. They need to update furniture and improve service to achieve Leading Hotel standards.
Very smart and comfortable Smoking allowed in some parts.
The staff could not have been nicer. The service was with a smile, attentive without pushing, so helpful. Smoking in the lobby was not that pleasant, wish that it was limited to outside.
Amazing jungle setting - you literally have to walk through the jungle from the lobby/restaurant/pool building to your room. Amazing food in the restaurant (blew away expectations). Convenient (although not the most punctual) shuttle to the national park. Pillows on bed smelled like mildew. Tough with humidity but would've hoped for a clean smelling bed.
It was amazing, fantastic hotel, fantastic location. Staff extremely helpful and went out of their way to make us feel welcome, all spoke English too which was an added bonus. Local knowledge was good and the taxi service they have was brilliant, easy to book and affordable to use (nearest bus route is 1 mile (20 min) walk down away). Surroundings were amazing and the rooms were luxurious, large jacuzzi bath and huge bed! Food was very good and pool was very relaxing. Would highly recommend and would stay again. Small gap underneath the door to the room (door leads to open outside corridor), we were concerned bugs may come in so we put a towel down each night, did not experience any problems.
We enjoy the location that it was literly in the jungle, and the comfort room Slow service and minimum personel
Really cool hotel in the jungle. Off the beaten path from Puerto Iguazu. You are literally in the jungle. There is a great pool. Breakfast was very good. Rooms were clean and basic. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again. Because it's off the beaten path, you have to take a remi/cab to town and to anywhere really. So if you are the type that likes to have everything at your doorstep I would opt to stay closer to town.
Rooms were truly built into the jungle. Hotel desk and restaraunt staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean. Meals at the hotel restaraunt were fantastic; beautifully prepared and wonderful flavor. The free breakfast was fine, but not great. Hotel airconditioner froze up almost every night, spitting out water onto the floor and table. Although the staff worked on it the next day, the same problem reoccurred. It left everything in my room, including clean clothes, damp and musty. While the rooms were well cleaned, they were showing heavy signs of use and needed to be updated. The beds were spring mattresses that were not very comfortable.
It was a beautiful hotel in a wonderful setting. The staff was especially friendly and helpful. Wish we could have stayed longer!
I thought that la Cantera is a gem - the rooms were excellent and I loved the wooden walk-ways there. The staff were very helpful and the food was good. Please don't spoil it by adding more accommodation and getting bigger!
This was a gorgeous property set in the middle of the jungle. Our room was beautiful, very nicely decorated, lovely tiled bathroom, and a private screened porch. The pool was very relaxing. Breakfast had plenty of choices and our dinner at the restaurant was very good. It's a small property, but all of the staff were very helpful and made sure we enjoyed our stay. We found it interesting that it's near an indigenous community; the people there are very kind and have stands set up near the hotel selling jewelry and other hand-made items. Keep in mind it's more remote than the larger hotels in the area and not as easily accessible, but it's a 10 minute walk to the main road where you can catch a bus or taxi to the city or falls. The bathroom had some plumbing issues. We were going to take a bath and the jets blew out this black, charcoal-like substance. The bottom of the tub near the drain needed better support as it bent under your weight. The room smelled a little musty - mostly due to being in the humid jungle, things don't dry very easily so that was understanding. It seemed they don't use bleach either because the towels were stained the reddish color of the soil in that area.
nice room There is only sandy road to get to the hotel.they order a taxi (who work with this hotel) and we were wait 1.5 hour at the lobby because no one want to get there while it rain...maybe because of the slippery road! the staff were not helpfull. we were really disappointed of our choise
Nice location, clean rooms, great steaks and good value for money Restaurant service has room for improvement
The hotel is basically a main lodge with three seprate acommodation lodge blocks linked by wooden walkways off the jungle floor. The staff were great at the front desk helping me make the most of my short stay at the falls. Good breakfast and free internet in the main lodge. Very peaceful and great to be able to hear the wildlife at night. The room had a damp smell due to the moisture in the air - it's a jungle after all. Onvce I had fund the offending damp smelling cushions and popped them on the balcony I was fine. TYou need you own car or taxis to get everywhere as the hotel is fairly isolated.
in the middle of the jungle, excellent staff, nice pool, jacuzzi in the room, too far from the main road to take the bus to the falls (so you pay 180$ for a taxi instead of 30$ retour trip to the falls)
The view is amazing , location great. Facilities excellent
the swimming pool area was great and the room was very comfortable. there were various things that certainly weren't 5 star eg. cleanliness of various parts of the hotel, the food and at times the service.
Every aspect was first rate - nothing to fault. Itś a great base from which to see the Igauzu Falls whilst offering a very relaxing setting in between.
The staff were amazing and very helpful. The hotel's location is unique where its a couple of minutes from the centre but isolated enough to be on top of a cliff where you have the panoramic view of the the three frontiers. Breakfast could be better. They had wide selection of things but some small things were missing like maple syrup and regular white bread.
It was a nice hotel next to the Iguazu River view. Room rates which included excellent breakfast was worth its value.
The location and garden the view was beautiful
The food was not nice at the restaurant. the room was very small and not what i expected for the price. Paying for view mostly. Por Favor but I was dissappointed you charged so much for a very ordinary room!!!! the rooms. expensive. 5 star prices for a 3-4 star hotel. view was excellent. pool great and spa and surrounds. staff not very informative. sorry but dissappointed
The room cleaning staff were exceptional Bar staff, very poor quality service
The swimming pool Air con did not work. Restaurant awful. I paid extra for a room with river view and the the only view I had was two palm trees blocking the view. You better off booking a room to the back and then have breakfast every morning in the 5th floor looking at the river view.
The staff was very attentive. They spoke good english & were willing to help at all times. Once when we miscommunicated with room service & they over delivered, they promply corrected the charge
Compliments to their breakfast, excellent pastry ...excellent, delicious chocolate , fruit juices and bread ...Towels were very white and clean...that is excellent too and not easy to find in hotels. very good I do believe that bathroom could be better clean as you can find some mould between the bathroom tiles....
Very quaint, super cute posada :) Only 19 rooms, very nice pool and the ambiance at breakfast is lovely . Mosquitos ... Pack your bug spray ... Spray before bed...
Very friendly staff!!! We arrived very early in the morning but it was no problem to get into the room and they even let us have breakfast!!! Very beautiful ambiente and very comfortable. The Italian restaurant is excellent! There is nothing to complain about! I will recommend this hotel to my friends!
Hotel Posada La Sorgente is a family oriented hotel with knowledgable staff, rooms were clean and neat a good value for the price.
great hotel with nice resturant
Nice pool area. Good (for Argentina) breakfast. Overpowering air freshener smell in the room.
great value for money. A bit noisy in the morning
Staff was excellent en helped with organizing our program (they are not a tour agency themselves). The whole place is really very clean, garden is nice to relax and wifi worked in our room. There is an italian restaurant in the hotel with really good italian food. Location is perfect, just 3 blocks out of the busy city center, so quiet within 5 minutes walking distance to the bus station. Pool was a bit cold. Did not like the breakfast that much, although you get fresh juices.
Co-operating and helpful staff. They made our stay very comfortable and very easy arrangement of any tour, taxi etc. The only thing we felt was average breakfast and no net connection in the room. We have to come to lobby to make personal calls.
Excellent reasonably priced location to see the Iguazu Falls. Nice swimming pool open till late night and an excellent value for money. Very helpful staff who can help or arrange various activities connected to sightseing the Falls.
At Front Desk, Dana was so helpful to arrange my adventure with tours to Iguazu falls. Also she guided me to my travel to Asuncion. She is wonderful and an asset of Marcopolo Suites. Nothing
We liked the double room, very spacious and comparable with a simple hotel room (including tv). Further they have quite a nice swimming pool (though not heated). The hostel is not in the centre, so if you need to take a taxi to the centre (20 pesos) for dinner, staff did not recommend walking there in the evening. Further there is not much to do besides the falls.
Nice staff , good clean rooms . The only downside is the breakfast , not many options . Overall a good hotel. Breakfast very simple , needs more options like : ham and cheese , eggs etc
Its a newly decorated cosy hotel, with very nice breakfast. Good location on the road to waterfalls. We've had our evening flight delayed, but the hotel stuff did its best to get a taxi transfer for us, which was very up the point. The reception is in the building across the street.
They helped us book tours, the Pool and outdoor area was nice. Was a little noisy, bathroom had stains on floor. Rooms are a little hospital like, not close to town.
the wellcomness of hotell staff i did not liked the dirty dishes while breakfest
I would STAY AWAY from this hotel at all costs. Do not be fooled by the "4 star" rating or the photos. On our first day, we asked the front desk where we can exchange currency and how we can get from the hotel to Iguazu Falls. The front desk pointed us over to a table they have set up in the lobby with looked organized with brochures and a man sitting there ready to "help" you. We had been exchanging 1 USD for 15 Pesos for the past week in Buenos Aires. He assured us that in Iguazu, the standard rate was 1USD for 14 pesos. We were skeptical but we needed cash for our day in Iguazu. He also told us that the only way to get to Iguazu Falls was by taxi, which cost 350 pesos. We took his word for it since he worked inside the hotel lobby, and later found out that we could have took a bus instead for only 80 pesos! Also, as soon as we got to the park we saw a sign that had exchange rates at 1USD for 15 pesos!! We confronted him about both of these things the next day and he got nervous and pretended he didn't know otherwise. What a PETTY CROOK, skimming a few extra bucks from hotel guests. In addition, the hotel room and hallway had a chemical smell to it, the breakfast was a bunch of cheap bread and cheese, we checked the air conditioner filters and they looked like they have not been changed in years, I can go on and on. The front desk would not give us the crook's name later on when we asked. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
