Pros: Beautiful, spacious and sparkling clean room. My family of 4 was very comfortable in the family room. Bathroom is enormous, with lovely towels, soaps, and towel warmer. I had several interactions with the hosts in person, email and by phone, and they were lovely and accommodating. Breakfast was amazing—I just wish I could have tried everything. Portions were huge and selection was vast. Beautiful view of Connemara! Very relaxing place....a needed break after all of our travels. My only regret is that we forgot to sign the guest book.

Pros: Owner was really friendly and made such an effort to make us feel welcome. Also gave us loads of great recommendations.
5.0 Okay
Cons: The hosts were not friendly at all. We were given one slice of toast and one slice of brown bread between us and when we asked for more we got a half a slice. each. This was especially annoying as we had booked a family room and only two of us were eating so there was no need to be mean with our breakfast. We felt very unwelcome in the breakfast room especially when Eithne started sweeping up when we were still eating. Breakfast also finished at 9.30 which was very early and checkout was at 11. Eithne also made sure to remind us of this.

Pros: This place is incredibly well run and organized -- everything has been thought of. It's not a luxurious accommodation, but it's very comfortable and if we are ever in Clifden again, we will most certainly stay here. The breakfast is exceptionally good and in addition to the cold offerings, hot breakfasts are cooked to order. The pancakes with fruit and maple syrup are fantastic.
Cons: Everything was excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had the most fantastic trip to Connemara, and staying at Buttermilk Lodge was one of the highlights of my trip to Ireland. Cathriona and Patrick were both incredibly hospitable, kind and welcoming, which was especially appreciated since I was travelling alone. The house is immaculate but so cosy too, and as well as an incredible view from my bedroom window, the vista upon leaving the guest house each morning took my breath away too! Special mention must be made of the wonderful breakfast, and Cathriona's utterly delicious homemade breads, and of course their adorable dog. I had a great time in Clifden, which will live long in the memory, and Buttermilk is the perfect location, being just a short walk from the main streets in the town. Thanks for a brilliant stay Cathriona and Patrick, I can't wait to come back!

Pros: The location was great! Beautiful scenery overlooking the Bay. The breakfast was a typical Irish breakfast and prepared to our expectations. The hostess, Frédérique, suggested an excellent restaurant for our dinner, for which I'd previously made a reservation. She was 100% correct!! By the way, the restaurant is Mitchell's.
Cons: We returned from dinner and hoped to sit in the common room and enjoy the fireplace. However, that section of the house was closed off to all guests by 8 PM when we arrived.

Pros: The house is located in a very peaceful area at the beginning of the panoramic Sky Road. The style of the common areas and the rooms are perfectly chosen and it creates a lovely and welcoming atmosphere. From the moment we stepped into the house till the moment we had to leave, there was not a single thing we could complain about. The hosts are very welcoming and friendly and provided us with good ideas for daytrips around the area. The room was cozy and nicely decorated and the delicious breakfast was only topped by the view from the breakfast-room. The location of the Lodge is amazing and although it is a little bit outside of the town of clifden you can walk there in about 30-40 minutes, which was no problem for us. All in all I can just recommend this B&B to everyone who wants to have the best place to stay while exploring connemara.

Pros: Large comfortable house with welcoming atmosphere. Everything high quality, but very relaxed and not stuffy. Hosts are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is exceptional.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: At our first day we arrived a little bit too early as the check-in time but our hosts Sue and John has received us very warm and nice. We stayed for 3 nights and had a wonderful time in Clifden. The breakfast was very good and fresh cooked. You can choose every morning from the menu card (Sue's homemade Pancakes were soo delicious!). There is a choice of the "normal Irish breakfast" to freshly caught fish from John (he is also a fisherman). At any time Sue was always helpful and open for a spontaneous small talk - for us it was a very stressless atmosphere in this house :) Our room was big and modern (my wife loved the extra soft sheets) with a view to the lake. The location is perfect. Clifden is a little and nice city with good restaurants, pubs, supermarkets, petrol station, laundry - everything you need can be easily reached. You can visit fast a lot of beautiful hotspots and sightseeings around Clifton, e.g. Kylemore Abbey, Sky Road, Diamond Hill, Connemara National Park, Dogs Bay (very beautiful beach), Ashleigh Falls. All in all we had a very relaxing stay at Sharamore B&B, we like Sue & John and their cute 4 dogs and we can recommend the B&B to everyone who want to have a very personal contact with the hosts and with a good & easy connection to awesome spots of Ireland.

Pros: Breakfast was amazing, pretty views, very clean room.
Cons: There was a bit of a mix up regarding our arrival time (not their fault but made our arrival a bit awkward). The water jug in our room was empty when we arrived and by the time we noticed it was too late to ask for any, which is a small detail but annoying.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast menu memorable. Location very apposite for exploring the region and visiting Clifden.
Cons: The door to the bedroom was loose-fitting and sang too much in high wind!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming and caring host who manifested a real love for the island _ his birthplace. He advised well on suitable walks for each day I was there. Lovely breakfast and welcoming cup of tea and chat when I arrived. When I return to Bofin I will return to Culu.
Cons: Stay was too short but this was no fault of the host
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We were welcomed and enjoyed the chats with the owner Chris. In other b&bs, it can almost feel like a hotel, but here it was like staying with family. Comfortable sitting room with sea and pier sight. Highly personalized breakfast. Beautiful walks on the island.
Cons: Cleaning could be slightly better (the shelves) and the sight from the bedroom (with double bed and bunk bed) isn’t on sea but on junk in the backyard, so my advice is to contact the friendly owner beforehand to ask if your room has sea sight or not.

Pros: The location and the cosy atmosphere
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This property is safely the best ever property we have stayed in, in terms of the location (overlooking the Atlantic) and the way it's done up. It's a treat for an art or history lover since each small detail is worthy of appreciation. The view from our room was out of the world. The sunrise and sunset are the most beautiful. My only regret is we should have booked it atleast for 3 days but when I booked only one day's booking was available. Kilda is such a sweet lady and the breakfast served was excellent. Even though we are vegetarians, there was enough for us to relish on the table. I would love to back to stay in this place for a longer time whenever possible. It was the highlight of our road trip along the Wild Atlantic Way. Absolutely loved it
Cons: Nothing. It was just too perfect.

Pros: The grounds are spectacularly gorgeous, and my room was large, well appointed and very comfortable. Clodagh (the hostess) is an effervescent personality with loads of good recommendations. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. I would have loved to have spent another several days there, just relaxing and staring at those views, but regrettably had to leave earlier than expected. Clodaugh was very accommodating of the unavoidable change in plans, and I’m very grateful for that. I highly recommend this property, host and overall experience to all traveling to this area, nd hope to go back there soon.
Cons: There was literally nothing I didn’t like. 100%+ excellent. Photos of my room and view from my room are included below.

Pros: The breakfast was fabulous! The location is stunning, peaceful and beautiful views across the water. Lydie is very welcoming and makes you feel right at home. A great stay!
Cons: The bathroom flooring could do with replacing, it was a bit tacky. Milk on the breakfast tables would be helpful, so that one doesn't have to keep getting up to use the milk from the buffet. The jams were great but we did miss marmalade. Small details easily rectified and did not affect our overall experience at all! We loved our stay!

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very good stay, very clean room, very good breakfast and very nice host. Only a few minutes walk to the towncentre, where you can listen to fantastic musicians playing lovely trad music. The only negative with this stay, was a terrible duvet. But it's not the first and only stay with a terrible duvet: It's mostly all over. Back home in Norway, most people use a very light down duvet, and it's heaven compare to this thick and heavy blanket which feels like a ton on the feet.
Cons: Terrible duvet.
