they made a suprise party a great event the lay out of the rooms was very confusing
The room was clean and spacious, the receptionists were pleasant and courteous and the hotel at large was clean and modern. Website led me to believe that the hotel over looked the beach and wifi throughout which there wasn't. The shower was poor.
Location and staff more entertainment needed in bar
Center of town. Good sized, well furnished rooms.Friendly efficient service. Excellent breakfast. No aircon in the rooms and the windows could only be opened a few inches. Noise till four in the morning from a night-club directly below our room!
The proximity to the beach and town was exellent, staff were lovely and really helpful We were staying in a room on the first night that was backing onto a nightclub, it wqasso loud and we couldn't sleep until the nightclub was finishred,we asked to be moved which we were but we didn't receive an apology or anything to compensate us.
Its location was perfect, in the centre of Lahinch but slightly off the main street so no noise at night. The bar needs to be revamped.
staff very nice and helpfull. 100/100
Rooms were big and clean Breakfast was cold, service poor.
Sorry but i would not recommentd this hotel. The walls are too thin and you could hear everything that was going on closing doors, walking dow coridors and the person next to you talking
Lovely clean modern hotel, friendly staff but a bit quiet. Not much atmosphere in bar maybe because of time of year. Quiet
The hotel is new and very nicely furnished with new beds and spacious rooms, clean bathroom We booked a tripple room but they only had a double when we got there as we were a little late arriving
Over all I really enjoyed my stay, the room - esp. for a "sole" traveller was really good. Its size was also a big plus for me, I was dreading a busy pub with a few rooms attached Breakfast on sunday was very good Tell the kitchen to take off the mashed peas from the salmon. My first room had no hot water and I had to push for another room - and I was staying two nights!! Reception staff did not have great local knowledge - I heard a family being recommended a walk along the cliff of Moher when they really wanted a beach for the children to run wild on.Breakfast on Saturday morning was not great
The receptionist was really friendly and very helpful on arrival. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel bar was very quiet.
size and comfort of room
Only spent one night there, but the hosts were amazing! Arrived very early and asked for a spot to leave our luggage. They were nice enough to let us go straight to our room! Just next to two great pubs and a few minute walk to shops and a few minutes more to the dock. Lovely town, easy to find, and great breakfast. Super nice staff...I could go on. Definitely going to visit them again! The only negative is that we only had one night there. Nothing bad to say about the place.
from the greeting to departure a sense of quiet effeciency. room was little warm when heating came on.......but otherwise perfect.
Had a less than ideal stay at a hotel in Belfast the night before and gave it a bad rating. Here's what I wrote at the end of that review: "The next night I stayed at the hotel Doolin near Galway. Walked to my room, given a newspaper, asked if I needed a wake up call, given a free drink at the bar, breakfast included, plenty of parking, a beautiful clean modern lobby and a wonderful bed, all for less money. The contrast was remarkable..." Absolute pleasure to stay at Doolin. Nothing. Fantastic place.
The hotel looked very bland from the outside and it was out of characterwith the traditional village surroundings. The interior, however was very classy and well designed and the room was large and elegant.
Brand new hotel only 4 years old with pubs and restaurant close by. Modern decore, new furniture, quiet room and comfortable beds. We had a restful nights sleep. Gus O'Connor's pub is 5 - 10 minute walk away (though you will need to bring along a flash light if you choose not to drive there after dusk) Free Wifi was only available in the hotel lounge and unreachable from our room 2 rooms away from the lounge. Not sure if this was because we stayed during the off peak season (November) when the hotel was mostly vacant.
Best hotel we stayed in Ireland. Staff were great, hotel clean and very well maintained.
Amazing staff.Freindly and helpful, they really put you at your ease and made you feel at home
The location was perfect to visit such places as the cliffs of Mohar and the Burren.
the breakfast was tasty!!! no
The Hotel Doolin is a new and trendy hotel. It is fairly new and tries to use a green approach to doing things. Although its a fairly new property the hotel does have a few downsides. We had a problem the first night we stayed there with the shower drain. Basically it wouldn't drain. To make a long story short we switch rooms for our second night and when we got in there the sink wouldn't drain. This was a minor inconvenience. However my thought is this: With the hotel being fairly new I would think it would be better maintained. You can't exactly clean a sink or shower without running the water, so the cleaning staff should notice it and get it fixed before customers check in.
Hospitality and friendliness of staff and lovely hotel.
There are several B&B nearby, but this offers a nice alternative. Connected to a restaurant and pub and with a nice lobby area, good alternative if the weather isn't good. Not quite walking distance to other pubs, but a very short drive on a very quite road, these are still good options.
Very clean and central to the Burren Bit pricey
The location had a nice view. The signage and directions were really bad -very difficult to find. one of the owner's mother, who looked after us the second day, was uncaring, pushing us to select breakfast the night before, not letting me have toast and pushing us to leave early.
There was so much! Super friendly staff, very clean, cozy, and comfy. Best breakfast we have had! We loved this B&B. Beautiful scenic views. Nothing at all!!
The proprietor was very friendly and helpful and she helped us book a tour of the beautiful surrounding area with a local family. The house itself was beautiful- the best B&B we found in our travels through Ireland.
This is a great B&B. I highly recommend it. Our room was very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was really lovely. Full Irish-- lots of fresh fruit, homemade scones, Irish bacon, eggs, and more. Best of all the coffee was strong. Great gardens. No.
The view of the coast, the serenity, the beauty - the sense of another time, but with really good food
The position and atmosphere. The instant coffee
Breakfast, view, staff Outdated decor, spiders
The environment, seclusion, the view, the old ruin in the garden
The evening dinner was wonderful. The warm welcome and family presence in the hotel were great! The barman added greatly to the Clare experience. It is a charming place with an old world feel. The scenery is fabulous and the pleasure of sitting in the hotel watching the sun go down was just wonderful. Easy access to the beach at Fanore, Walking in the Burren, Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher!
the view of the countryside the room was cold & dampish
Room service charg for breckfast $9 was a bit high
It was very comfortable and quite. Mrs. Sheedy went out of her way ,helping us plan our trip to the Aran Island.
The hotel is lovely. The breakfasts were scrumptious. The owner was very available and helpful.
The food was fantastic and we could not have eaten there every night very large portions Possibly menu could have been changed
Quiet elegance, superb restaurant, welcoming owner.
We spent three nights in July 2010 and couldn't have been happier with our choice. Martina and John have a wonderful establishment. Our room was exceeding comfortable and clean. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and varied ( I want the pea soup recipe! ) The staff were friendly and very helpful. It was nice to relax by a peat fire at the end of a day of exploring Clare County. Not only would we recommend it to others but we anticipate returning for a longer stay. I can honestly say that in years of travels, I have never enjoyed a stay as much as this.
Massive nice room. Friendly staff. Lovely supper and breakfast.
beautifully appointed-fantastic food (locally sourced) lighting could be a bit better -by bedside
The lady proprietor was very welcoming. The food was excellent and the room a real surprise: large and comfortable.
Made very welcome by the owners. The food was the best I ever experianced in a hotel. Will stay again on next trip to West Clare.
The hotel was exactly how it was described and the photographs reflect an accurate account of the look of the hotel. The rooms were very spacious, ask for a sea view! We found the staff very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. I felt the prices in the bar were a little expensive, over 10 euro for two drinks. Would recommend the hotel accomodation and food but would rather take the short walk to the village to visit the local pubs.
Liked freindly staff and lounge/bar area was very cozy and comfortable. Liked being able to walk into town. Enjoyed breakfast too.
Short walking distance from the beautiful surfing beach at Lahinch. Spacious comfortable rooms, with stunning local photographs throughout the hotel, attracting us to visit the Cliffs of Moher and other local beauty spots.
~The dinner was excellent and the waitress was very friendly When I arrived at reception, although someone saw I was there, I was completley ignored.
I liked the location. And the breakfast was excellent. It was too modern...didn't feel like Ireland.
Restaurant was excellent although expensive. Owner/manager was very helpful and courteous. Some things were lacking. Although only a 4 star hotel the prices justified 5 star facilities such as dressing robe and slippers and tea making facilities. Also felt bedding was fairly inferior.
The staff at the Vaughn Lodge were so patient with my family. We were on our first vacation with our infant son and the staff embraced us and our chaos! They frequently went above and beyond to help us with our son. We would definitely stay with this amazing staff again!
good location, friendly staff especially in the restaurant. room was very comfortable, especially the bed. best bed have ever slept in, of all the hotels we have slept in.
Beautifully designed luxurious hotel with a very friendly owner. He gave us great information to facilitate visits. We got the best room. We liked the breakfast. One of our best ever hotels.
Had an excellent stay. Best breakfast. Wonderful service from all the staff. A really well run establishment
We were only there for a brief evening prior to a day of golf. The accomodations were good - breakfast very good. No
Good accomadation, pleasent and friendly staff, good facilities, good food and great view of the sea, nice location
loved the views, the beakfast served to you arae thing these days and the character of the hotel
the fantastic view from the hotel room
Location, view, and the owners were great.
Great location and wonderful breakfast and dinner Did not like that the water was off in the morning for shower, but did come back on also the wake up call with the large birds on the roof out side our window at 7am after a late night dancing
Great location for Cliffs of Moher. Resturant was good, which is important as there is not too many options in the area.
The view from our room of the Cliffs of Moher and Innish Oirr Aran Island was gorgeous. Restaurant is good and staff is excellent and helpful. The views are beautiful but it is a good 10 to 15 minute walk to the town where the famous pubs are located. We walked home the first night and did not do that again as the road is mostly unlit and very narrow if you encounter a car. The hotel should have some kind of shuttle service for pub or restaurant patrons.
The breakfast was lovely There was blood on the window frame in the bathroom. There where cob webs on the ceiling over the bed. The main light had dust bunnies in each of the shades.
The meals were lovely. The receptionist was a little disoganised.
Quaint hotel, great view, excellent location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The outside of the building was being painted, and there were paint specks on the front of our car when we were leaving.
Hotel has a nice big bar on the ground floor, which was very much alive at night. Reception staff was nice, breakfast staff not so much. A big warning letter in the room, that we will have to pay 50 EUR if we soil it, was off-putting. Random shower curtain forgotten in the hallway was there for two days.
Delightful architect-designed modern facilities in a semi-rustic, peaceful setting; charming "traditional" ambience, complemented by friendly and efficient staff, wonderful food and music.
