A very comfortable hotel with friendly staff, excellent beds and a cosy interior. Dinner, though not cheap, was delicious. Service was good and speedy. A good range of food for breakfast set us up for the day. Best of all was the overall design and appearance of the place. It just felt lovely to be there.
My mini suite with the balacony, location of the hotel, the breakfast, helpful nice staff and the fact that this family business has been since 15th century and still well maintained. I wish that I could turn on the heating in my suite but it will not operate till mid of Oct since it is for all the hotel. This was not really needed at the time I stayed at the hotel and staff provided me with little heating device that operates on electricity.
It is an historical place so has the charm of yesteryear. The staff is dressed in Swedish costume from the region and is cheerful, adding to the charm. The layout of the buildings is resort-like. They are very well-known for their restaurant, and the food was prepared in gourmet style. Ample free parking in two different areas made it convenient to park near your building. Kids can have fun on a trampoline in the big yard; there is also a tennis court and pool. Excellent breakfast. No internet - although it's not really a business type hotel, which is part of the charm. A true place to relax. Dinner was pricey.
It was the most beautiful hotel we've found in Sweden. Very nice and friendly staff, beautiful rooms, very homely atmosphere. We stayed 3 nights and wish we could stay more.
The room was quite comfortable with a large bath including a jacuzzi tube. The bed was reasonably comfortable. We had a small deck opening to a park-like area and the beautiful lake beyond. There is an excellent gourmet restaurant here for dinner and the breakfast is plentiful and quite good. The staff is quite pleasant. The property is quaint and has apparently been in the family for several generations. Here you have the quaintness of a Swedish country inn that is reasonably upgraded and renovated. Overall a very good stay and we highly recommend it for all from those w/ children to honeymooners and mature travelers. There were also a couple of business groups at the property. All good.
This is a beautiful old multi-building hotel located in a picturesque town on Lake Siljan. The room was small but comfortable with a lot of cupboard space. The food was excellent with a good breakfast included in the fee and excellent gourmet dinners. In the main building, there is a room with a pool table as well as an indoor pool, sauna, and whirlpool (whirlpool additional cost 20SEK for 20 minutes). Service was excellent and the location is ideal for exploring the Dalarna region.
The Service and facilities available at the hotel
Lovely buildings beautifully furnished and with a friendly atmosphere and a very nice restaurant.
The relaxed atmosphere and the quiet cozy areas throughout the building to enjoy
The view from the room was amazing! At first, the room was not lake view in spite of advance request, but when I pointed it out, the reception staff changed the room soon. I appreciate it.
Excellent location, Great view of Siljan lake, Friendly staff Drainage of bathroom floor was very bad. Flooded after using shower every time.
The indoor pool and the spa are very nice, big room, beautiful view on the lake. Free bycicles. Good breakfast buffet. Restaurant menu was limited (mainly grill).
Location and view from the comfortable room Hotel is for bus tourists with package deals not individuals.Food is mediocre cleanliness and attencion of service is poor (dirty floors, uncleaned tables)
Very well located with a terrific view on the Siljan Lake ; great spa with one hot tube (whirlpool) and a large whirlpool in a separate nice building at the bottom of the property (yet spa is closing at 8 PM) ; nice and cosy hotel rooms are rather outdated and deserve a new decoration / upgrade - they are not worth their price
Woderful room. Excellent food. Very relaxing and quiet - ideal for a breakaway. No
Staff, food, service, setting could not have been better.
The staff was great, wonderful room with view of the lake and excellent dinner.
Warm and inviting. Quiet and peaceful. Fireplace nice and lots of soft candle light.
Very welcoming, very friendly, beautiful hotel in the unique Dalarna style.
An absolute gem of a hotel! Off the "beaten track" with excellent views over Lake Siljan, this wooden hotel maintains much of the original charm with very helpful staff wearing traditional local dress. Whilst very accomodating for families, the evening menu choice, although very good quality, was limited.
Wonderful veiw over the lake Siljan No signs down to the bar were the staaf was late in the evening
I needed a quite relaxing place to stay before returning to work - the Green Hotel and the village of Tallberg set on Lake Siljan provided exactly what i required. The private art collection - on view to hotel guests at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon was an added bonus along with the excellent swimming pools sauna, tennis facilities and free bike facility. Althouggh my en suite wet room was ultra modern and spotlessly clean it was very small - people of greater girth than my self would seriously struggle in the space available.
Excellent location. Carefully maintained wonderful old buildings. Breakfast selection was rather basic.
The surroundings were exquisite, the staff was incredibly nice and accomodating, the hotel itself was beautiful the area is perfect.
the fantastic views of the lake and the dinner meals
Everything, This is a beautiful and gracious hotel. The rooms are charming and the food is wonderful. There is a great walking trail. No
Amazing place in an amazing location! Staff was helpful and kind (especially Annita). Definitely, we are going back!
The has a real homely feeling about it. The hotel boasts excellent food. On this occassion the kitchen was closed with cold meat and salad on offer. There were no other restaurants locally. Very disappointing.
We liked the very friendly and helpful staff, the free use of the guest laptop, the huge breakfast selection, delicious dinner menu, comfortable rooms and beautiful traditional decoration throughout the hotel, and the lush location amongst manicured lawns, so close to the lovely lake, we loved it.
The hotel is beautiful and breakfasts were very good. We were disappointed that we were there too early to take advantage of the hotel's restaurant. Suggest when people book, you let them know if the restaurant will be open or not. Based on reviews, we were looking forward to the restaurant and might have altered our itinerary to fit. Anyway, we had a great time.
The room had enough space for two. Nice lake view from room. Room rate was expensive for us, but it maybe Swedish standard. Maybe very good for skiing and water sports.
The view was breath-taking and breakfast was perfect the bathroom needs to be renovated!
It was Vasaloppet event. So, it was the so called only last minute booking hotel available. The late arrival time was not problem for the team. Due to Vasaloppet we had to wakeuop very early, so the extra bralfast bag was prepared. Excellent! The team was very small on sunday so the reception was not always available, but it was not a problem for us.
It was silent no screeming from children or drunk adults . The buffe dinner was way to expensive for what we received .
The hotel was beautiful. It was composed of several buildings that housed the rooms and then a central building with conference room, sitting areas and dining facilities. The breakfast was extremely complete and delicious. The staff was wonderful and helpful. The setting was beautiful, just a short walk downhill to the edge of Siljan Lake. The hotel was expensive, but everything in Sweden seemed to be.
the location was outstanding as well as the possibility for many sporting activities and the sauna and outdoor hot tub. The rooms have minimal comfort and the staff could be friendlier.
Scenic, pleasant staff, nice room, enjoyable environment.
Nice location quaint cottages good value
Position was good for attending the opera at Dalhalla, which was the purpose of staying at this hotel, only 7klms away. Yes. Poor start at reception, no-one there, they were in Stockholm, shop assistant had to help us. Expensive for Youth Hostel type room/hotel. The restaurant was closed at 8pm so we could not use our computer as wirless was in this room. Very poor beds/mattresses and shower recesses.
We were on a driving tour of Sweden and stayed to enjoy the area around Rättvik. Only that we could not stay longer. Not any fault of the hotel!
The hotel was extremely rustic for the price. It was also far from town. The breakfast was barely adequate.
Our view from the room patio which not all rooms have. We were first given a middle room, without view of Lake Siljan. As guests next to us were smoking which affected us, asked for another room which was much better.
My wife and I each had two meals at the hotel. Three meals were very good. My wife's BBQ spare ribs consisted of two large ribs, joined together with very little meat. My ribs were very good - several small ribs with lots of meat.
Very beatiful location. Panoramaview over lake Siljan. The third bed in our room wasn´t good at all (to short)
