Pros: It was perfect for mey needs.
Cons: Room was nice.
Pros: Very clean. Good location. Friendly owner.
Pros: For the price, I expected a hostel situation, but it is more like a self-catering place, feeling more like a home or guest-house but the hosts are not present (though always available). The hosts met me at the train and were exceedingly amenable. The ház is impeccable and pretty and comfortable, though no sitting room. Near all shops and the train/bus station. The only thing that would make it better is to damper the sound in the entry/kitchen area with some tapestries or rugs. I loved staying here.
Pros: It was a really nice place! Just stayed for one night, but this place is comfortable for several days also. The owner is helpful, ready to answer any questions about the local restaurants, shops and ready to suggest what to see in the area.
Cons: Nothing, everything was fine.
Cons: Kettle in the kitchen was dirty/algee?

Pros: Very nice and clean. Beds are comfortable. Owner is friendly and helpful. We had a perfect stay. Quite night. Thanks a lot.
Cons: Bathroom’s doors deserves lubrication :).
Pros: I appreciate such friendly and welcoming hosts. They waited us despite the late arrival. The house was very clean and cozy, as well as a lawn around. The breakfast was simple, but plentiful.

Pros: There is nothing extraordinary in this hotel. It provides the comfort and cleanness you need while you travel around. The breakfast was fine and I can’t think anything we disliked.
Cons: I must admit that we had a hard time finding the hotel. The sign faded away and we passed the gate quite a few times. I hope it is going to be fixed soon.
Pros: A quiet place in the countryside, a confortable room.
Cons: Normally we saw nobody in the reception, no english spoken (which was actually conditioning) and no cleaning (for the body) in the WC.
Pros: Good breakfast. Clean and nice room, quiet neighbourhood.
Cons: Owner does not speak English, however it was possible to communicate. WiFi wasn't working good. It's hard to find the place, there is no sign or anything on the road, and hotel building is not visible from the road. Dangerous looking big dogs wander around the hotel.
Surrounded by a forest in a natural reserve, the Salgó Hotel in Salgótarján offers a 24-hour front desk, a sauna and a fitness centre. Buffet breakfast is offered every morning, and on request, half board is also available. The next grocery shop is 2 km away. Free public parking is possible, and a train station is 3.6 km away.
Pros: Friendly staff, nice location in the forest, big parking.
Cons: Old, uncomfortable bed, haven’t clean the room for whole week, poor breakfast, not the best service.
Pros: The crew was very nice and helpful and help us to get a pizza delivery to the hotel after a long day of driving
Cons: There was other group of people in the hotel that was from a school or something and it's felt like we was in a school trip
Pros: The area is very nice, it is in a kind of natural resort area
Cons: 1) Sanitary situation was not good: - Place to stow toiletry bag was not there or a lot too small - hooks for clothes missing, - sink/drain plug was missing leaving the water hole open so that parts can vanish in the sewage 2) The signs to show the way to the hotel that is a bit in the woods are not sufficient 3) For the breakfast there was only one kind of white bread available, nothing more natural, no green tea
Pros: VERY good service. The style was dated, but comfertable.
Pros: Breakfast was very good, with great variety. Rooms were ok. Attendants helped immediately when there was a black-out and solved the problem within a minute.
Cons: Width of walls is close to paper. This valid also for doors and windows. There was just one liquid soap machine in bathroom, next to wash basin, nothing else for shower (neither a soap). All the building and rooms are a bit outdated without too much spending on that recently.
Pros: You can walk thru the forest to Salgo castle and Smoska castle from the hotel (each approx. 45-60 minutes.) The location is very good and quiet. The hotel itself is rather old fashioned but the breakfast was very fine! There is no refridge in the room but you can put your stuffs into the refridge at the front desk. You just need a car since the next restaurant was approx. 10min. driving and the hotel restaurant was closed during our stay.
Cons: The wifi did not work in the rooms on the second floor. There was no chair in the room.
Pros: The facility is located near the border from Slovakia in a quiet forest environment. I appreciate the friendly attitude of the very helpful staff, the room was a bit smaller than we expected but clean. The hotel is pet-friendly. Dinner and breakfast were very tasty. We would like to stay here again in the future.
Pros: I was quiet. It was in the woods as advertised. Plenty of parking.
Cons: Even though the place was basically empty. I was given a room on the top floor at the very end of the hallway. Not convenient when you have luggage and there is no bell hop or elevator. Dinner was whatever they had, No Options. Breakfast did have some choices. Rooms are small and dated. Think circa 1980's. Property did not look well maintained.
Pros: Kindness of emplyee at the reception on arrival at 8 p.m. though the restaurant was already closed he prepared me a sandweech.
Cons: Very difficult to find and to see the signs in the dark. No restaurant open in the Hotel at 8 pm. In the riservation didn’t say time of restaurant service.
The Galcsik Fogadó is located in the centre of Salgótarján and offers you en-suite rooms with cable TV and free WiFi, as well as an à-la-carte restaurant serving typical Hungarian cuisine. You can park your car free of charge on site. The reception at Galcsik Fogadó is open 24 hours a day. You can enjoy hiking tours to the Medves, Karancs and Cserhát hills or visit the mining museum 500 metres away. The bus and train station is 150 metres away and within a 5-minute drive you can reach a public outdoor pool.
Pros: The staff was very friendly, the room was clean.
Cons: The breakfast was poor.
Pros: We appreciated the free breakfast. Parking was right out front which was very convenient. Very clean establishment
Cons: Initial staff contact was unprofessional. They couldn't find our reservation, and we ended up with a room on the top floor which had not been renovated. Stair well was dangerous, especially for three senior citizens. One bed did not have bed linens and staff member was put out that we asked for bed linen. We sent two messages prior to checking in and they never responded to our messages.
Pros: Food is great
Cons: In need of some upgrades but all together ok
Pros: Good price and location (3-5 mins from central bus station, mc donald's and shops). Really, really nice restaurant in the same building.
Cons: Below average breakfast (no veggies, no eggs). Staff does not really speak any English. Better try your luck in German.
Pros: It was quiet with a friendly staff.
Cons: It is a small town hotel and had some of the amenities upon request such as a hair drier (faulty) a/c controller (slow) we got two bath towells (no hand towels or wash cloth) pretty rough bottom sheets. The restaurant in the hotel closed at 3PM because it was Sunday when we arrived. The only other places to eat was a nerby Pizza parlor and a McDonalds. Unless you speak Hungarian this hotel is not for you. No English or French was spoken by any of the staff. By luck our business was completed the next day and we decided to had back to Budapest. Thus our stay was shortened to one day only. Unfortunately, the charm of the hotel was lost in the small-town inactivity and attitude. I would not recommend it as a tourist destinaton
Pros: The room was spacious and perfect for relaxing after a wedding. The parking space is in front of the house, we could see our car (big plus for us!)
Cons: The breakfast could have been more various. For the air condition we didn't get a remote control, by the we realised, it was a bit late to ask for one, so we woke up sweating.
Pros: rooms, beds, staff
Cons: dishwasher overloaded, cutlery and plates were not clean
Pros: Good value for money, well located exactly in the city center. Room, bathroom and breakfast quite basic, but good enough for short stay :)
Pros: Reasonable transit place on the border of two countries. Nothing to shout or complain about.
