Very little worked, ie internet, door to room. Staff smelled of Body Odour!! Breakfast was revoltingly poor!!
We stayed in August 2010, using the hotel as our base to visit Mycenae, Epidaurus, Tiryns etc. The hotel was quiet and very well-appointed. We stayed an extra night because we liked it so much. The pool was lovely and breakfast was good. Carpeted rooms and hallways helped to make it much quieter than many other places we stayed in during our holiday. The coffee at breakfast was on the weak side, but we asked if we could have something stronger and were given espressos free of charge. (So more a positive than a negative, really).
It is a very expansive and attractive resort-style property at a good price. Hardly anything, but it's in pastureland and, so, really requires a car.
old style hotel, big rooms ignorance of the staf
We were most pleased with this hotel. Everything was first class. No
Very friendly stuff, quiet, spacious rooms, nice garden, a good value for money
country side , city and beach nearby, luxury, design, epidavros, tranquility
The landsacape. Poor service in breakfast time, no natural juices, no wifi to the room.
we loved this hotel, very clean, comfortable and peaceful. Not for those who want to be on the beach. Lovely pool. Breakfast is ok, not great but satisfying. Nafplion is a lovely town and worth visiting. You need a car if you want to stay at this hotel as it is about 2 km from town.
The room was spacious and had a nice balcony, the matress and the pillows were very comfortable. I found the location excellent beceuse it was very quiet and close to the city og Nafplio (by car). The heating facility (air-condition ) in the room made a lot of noise. Since I was there only for a relaxing weekend, it would be nice if they served breakfast until 11:00.
Huge cosy rooms and balcons with wonderfull view!!! Kitchen where you can cook a fast meal and big enough bathroom!!! Very friendly staff!!! Good location near the center, but not in the center. less than 5 minutes by car! Parking place too. :-) Without a car maybe it's more difficult to get to the center. The road to the hotel is small. The walls are thin and sometimes you can hear your neighbours.
Nice view of the city, quiet location, private parking in front door. Low WI-FI signal
The room was large enough for five people. The staff did not speak english at all and they charged my credit card directly without asking me.
Great place. Good location with everything close. Nauplie is a great place. Nothing fancy, but everything is ok. At this price, nothing to complaint.
The best thing about this hotel are its big rooms with plenty of space. They are well furnished and clean. I loved the Palamidi Castle view also. The position of the hotel makes being there with a car an imperative. It's more than 15 mins walking away from the center of the city, and the streets around it are very steep making women walking up and down in heels virtually impossible.
high speed Wifi DBL bed not available, using country side beds...
Clean rooms and very friendly staff
Difficult to find as it's actually two pensiones rather than one hotel.
Not the largest of rooms but well presented, boutique style. Excellent location in heart of old town with parking (free) not too far away and a lovely small balcony overlooking a quiet street. Amazing breakfast brought to your room. Nothing not to like.
The Amymone was wonderful! Beautifully restored 19th c mansion with cosy, romantic rooms, each differently decorated. Owner & staff are friendly and very accommodating. Breakfast included home-made preserves and freshly baked pastries. Nice choice for anyone, but especially good for a romantic weekend.
Great breakfast with mainly homemade products, very friendly staff. Excellent decoration of rooms and lounge. The owner has a focus on the details.
I loved everything about my stay :-) The staff were lovely, the room was great and the breakfasts were amazing. I will recommend it to all of my friends! It was a little bit noisy one night with people in the restaurant downstairs, but this did not bother me very much.
Amymone is a stylish conversion of a Venetian building set one street back from the Harbour. Staff are very friendly and there are many nice touches. The beds are extremely comfortable and the breakfasts magnificent. We stayed in the Myrtia suite and would recommend it to anyone. In its class 5 stars.
Excellent Service Noisy bed
Charming hotel in a charming town. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was very nice, very neatly decorated, and with a very comfortable bed. Great breakfast. We had a great, relaxing time. The only small problem was the proximity of kitchens for several restaurants (just across the street). But given the number of restaurants in Napflio, this is unavoidable.
Very nice town (Nafplio), good position to discover the nice surroundings. Really pretty and charming hotel, very friendly staff.
The location is quiet but still near tavernas and shops. The room was attractive, spacious and clean and the bathroom very nice. I asked for non smoking and did not smell any smoke in the room. The best part was the wonderful caring attitude of the couple who run the pension. They went to great lengths to be kind and helpful, including helping us get gasoline during the strike.
excellent location, friendly staff and clean room The room was extremely small (Attic double room). Luckily we r both thin, didnt bring suitcase and very in love...:). we were informed that this room was the only one that was too small therefore i would suggest to lower the price or maybe provide breakfast included in the price
The breakfast was amazing. You are a close walk to anything there. The people are very clean. I would highly recommend. The walls were a bit thin. There was only one other room filled but we could hear them moving around at night.
This is a delightful little (6 room) pensione a few streets back from the main square in Nafplio. The rooms are modern, clean, and nicely decorated. But the best part of our stay was the help we got from Magra (sp?) who runs the place. Her English is good, and she made us feel at home. Our favorite place we stayed in Greece.
Nice location in historic part of town on a quite street. Freindly and helpful owners. Extremly nice beach within a 10min drive from the hotel. Our room had a nice view of the two castles from the balcony, although it may be the only room with such a nice view.
The hotel is in the center of Nafplion. It is located in a narrow road with almost no traffic. All attractions of Nafplion are in walk distance, nevertheless it is very quiet. A small beach is also in walk distance. The hotel itself has no parking. But public parking is no problem, E.g. there is plenty of parking space in the harbour. We had the room "Blue". The room was spacious and beautiful with a small balcony. It was very tidy and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful and speaks English. The breakfast is served at your table. We had the continental breakfast. It was plenty and had some variations over the days. So it was not always the same. Overall we enjoyed our stay and strongly recommend this hotel.
great place for families
Very amiable atmosphere, warm decoration. Lack of a cofee/drink bar.
location is very good, nearby the center of nafplion, but very calme
Room was larger than average and each is decorated differently. No lift but I only had to carry my suitcase up one flight of stairs so it wasn't a problem. If you have a lot of luggage it might be something to consider.
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, arriving late after hours to help us check in after our flight was delayed. There were 3 rooms available, and we could see all 3 to decide which we liked best. Each had their own unique personality, all very nice! There's a beautiful wood staircase that goes up to all rooms. It was fine for us, but could be a problem for someone with mobility issues (or very heavy luggage).
We loved the village of Tolo. We were also very close to the beach and harbor. Our room had a great view of the sea and near islands. The hotel staff was friendly and very helpful.
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The steep access road was not helpful for my mother and dangerous when conditions were wet. We had an English school tour in the hotel at the time of our stay and they took over the lounge and dining room when they were around, which caused us to vacate these areas during these times - we felt that should have made use of the conference room for their lessons, at least.
We got upgraded to a suite which was excellent; nice view if your room is on the seaside (the opposite side might be less attractive) Quality of breakfast does not correspond to a 4* hotel; lobby is a bit shabby
Very clean hotel. Professional and very helpful and friendly staff. Magnificent view from the front balconies. The rooms are not sound proof, we could hear our neighbours through the walls or through the ventilation system. As well, we could hear everything that was happening in the corridor. The "orange juice" that was served at breakfast was very sweet and had an awfull artificial taste. There was regular coffee for breakfast, but it was not freshly brewed. I would expect higher standards in a 4**** hotel.
Great place for families. Location was terrific.
We were lucky enough to have a large room with beautiful views of the bay and pool side. Big, balconies with nice furniture allow you to have a romantic and enjoyable drink/dinner even if your teenagers are with you. Even though it is at the end of Tolo, it is within easy walking distance of most of the town's attractions, except Psili Ammos Beach which is a 30 minuite walk, so take a car. The staff was friendly, attentive, and very helpful. Breakfast was very good. The swimming pool and excellent views, friendly bar man. Wifi also a bonus. Quiet location but accessible to everything in the town. A comfortable hotel Despite these shortcomings, we will stay at this hotel again, but here they are in the interest of fairness and full disclosure. There is a steep slope up to hotel and its parking which our rental car refused to make. Luckily we could park in the back side of the hotel, but either way you have to negotiate stairs and corners. Unfortunately the hotel will not be easy for people with mobility difficulties. The bathrooms were kind of crammed and were equipped with a very loud, noisy and ineffective fan.
Nice pool, nice breakfast, spacious rooms, close to centre and beach of Tolon.
The fact that it was clean and there were 2 bars of soap. It was not up to 4* hotel standards
The service could not have been better. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The location was really wonderful - we had quiet rooms but we were in the old town so that we were only steps away from wonderful tavernas, interesting shops and the beautiful shore. Our sons had a shower that did not work very well.
This hotel was fantastic our room was the sky room with period furniture and quirky decor. the rooms were smallish but entertaining, staff were helpfull an informative with real pride in there hotel. We had the best continental breakfast ever with table service fore a change. Quite a walk to parking but all Naplio is like that
charm, service steps
A true pearl.
Clean, professional, excellent breakfast Although it's close to the center & waterfront of Nafplion, the hotel is actually very hard to find & even harder to reach (one has to climb over 60 stairs to reach the hotel and then onto the rooms inside the hotel - no elevator...), there is no close by parking and also no way to bring in the car to unload baggage - you have to carry it with you all the way from the parking lot in the harbor - about 10 minutes, it took a lot of time (30 minutes!) for the hot water to start flowing in the shower in the morning. We also had an hour long power outage in the night but I think it was city wide so it's not their direct fault.
Ilion hotel is a romance place that travels you to the past...It is at a very good location in the center of Nafpio. This hotel is an art gallery!!!!
Liked the room, the view, the overall design of the hotel, as well as the nature around it Breakfast could be better, at least serve fresh orange juice, since it's built in an orange farm...
Staff was very nice. Located in small village near but not in Nafplio. Lovely view from pool area and rooms.
Location was excellent - so peaceful and relaxing. Comfortable setting and friendly staff.
Location was slightly remote, but turned out to be a plus. Price was good. Could use better signs for locating the hotel on the first vistit
The design and the personnel,as well as it was pretty close to Nafplio Maybe breakfast
Excellent location with beautiful surroundings. Large guestrooms with cosy fireplace and balcony with panoramic view. Very friendly and attentive owners and staff. The breakfasts could have been more diversified and it was a pity that the restaurant was not opened due to low season.
There were so many things that we liked; the beautiful view from the balcony overlooking the orange grove and the cute little village below, the food (breakfast was amazing), the rooms were spacious and had a cute balcony with orange trees right in front of you, the swimming pool which is very big for the size of the hotel, but most importantly we liked the owner Alex. He was such a gracious host, a smart young gentleman and we loved our many talks during our short stay. He made our stay more than just a night at the hotel, it was an experience! Everything was good but if I could change anything, it would be the duvet cover in our room. It's fine but the color made the room look a bit like a hospital. Also, international channels on the TV would be nice :CNN or BBC at least.
Excellent staff, very comfort and I wish to go there again.
Very friendly personnel, spacy room with a jacuzzi in the bathroom, great location in the old town. The conditioner needed maintenance so badly that we literally could not sleep during the first night because of the heat in the room.
The whole experience was wonderful, from the way the building had been converted to a hotel, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, and the fantastic breakfast! N/A
The friendliness of the staff, the quiet location, the comfortable room, the good breakfasts, the sense of being treated as one of the family. No
The location - however most hotels in Nafplio are located at the old town. The bed had flees, my entire body is covered in bites. The shower cubicle was so small I was not able to turn when inside. The door to the single bedroom is on the staircase. The walls of the room are no more than one metre away from the edges of the single bed. I could hear everything that was being said, one floor down (reception) or up. There is no 24hr desk service. This is not a four star hotel.
Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Comfortable room with jacuzzi bath
The hotel was fairly easy to locate and parking was nearby. The hotel was quiet. The double rooms were generally spacious. The walk up to the top floor was a challenge with heavy suitcases, but a great view of the castle from the terrace. Nice breakfast.
The location was convenient to Nafplio. The hotel staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. I had a very relaxing stay.
Very polite and welcome personnel Delicious breakfast with handmade jams and traditional pies
Nomizeis oti se filoxenoun poli kaloi filoi sto spiti tus!the hospitality is the same as your best friends in their home
Very convenient location, spacious rooms (very nice decoration and environment), owners very friendly and open, fruits and cakes were available for free! Product supplied for breakfast were a bit limited in variety, not many plugs (and not conveniently spread in the room), warm water was just enough for two
Very good location, traditional sweet small balcony for smoking! very nice renovation! This hotel is really very nice but i prefer more modern decoration.
Very convenient location for shopping and the port of Nafplion. Lots of stairs, and pricey for a "suite". I didn't expect a pull out couch when booking a suite for 4 at that price.
I enjoyed this hotel very much. On my point of view hotel provides everything what traveler needs: beautiful design of the rooms, all necessary facilities. Everything of good quality and operates well. Very good service, very pleasant and friendly staff, home atmosphere and very very good owner Leonidas, who understands very well hotel business and does his best to make your stay comfortable. Thank you very much!!! I feel extremely satisfied of my choice and recomend this place to the other travelers. 1)Rooms are situated on the second floor. So, steps can be a little bit inconvenient if you have a lot of or heavy luggage. But the staff is always ready to help you. 2) Under the windows on one side of the hotel there is a taverna. If there are plenty of visitors there, it may be noisy (usually in the evening).
The room facilities were excellent, most notably the bed, which was huge and very comfortable. A breakfast with warm servings would be much appreciated.
Brand new hotel, quit, large room, classic, nice pool, on the beach, deserves 5 stars. The staff who are keeping the hotel in good condition and clean, should be much more professional.
I really loved the spacious rooms, and the staff was very polite, friendly and helpful. I was amazed by the size of the pool... Breakfast buffet was also very good. The only thing that stood out was the food (quality & taste). It was far from what I'd expect at a hotel like this. Not only was it disappointing, but it was - to an extent - very bad. At the buffet, dinner was very low quality, and did not reflect the overrated price. Room service was also charged an extra 30%.
Luxury and great room, friendly pool bar staff
The room was OK. The hotel is situated on a remote location. Ugly building. During the whole day there was loud music at the pool, beach and even during breakfast. Complaining does not help. The whirlpool in the bathroom caused an electrical short resulting in a power outage in the room. Hard beds. Unfriendly staff. No fresh orange juice at breakfeast, although there are lots of orange trees in the area. In short: the hotel is a big disappointment.
As international travellers over the past 40years we appreciated the level of appointment of the establishment and in particular the degree of attention to all aspects of standards. The staff were keen to help at all times. We were disappointed the Thalasso Spa was not functional at the time of stay. Evening entertainment even to a minimal degree would enhance your capabilities.
location, beach, and staff i would stay there for 6 months if i could afford it
New hotel, great pool and private beach Spa not available, no buffet breakfast during low season, low value for money
It was very silence place, the hotel is situated outside Kanthia village with its own beach and a huge swemming pool. Perfect place to forget the noise world. They sholuld offer also the All inclusive progame, for a perfect holiday.
Beautiful hotel with a lovely staff in a great part of the town
Very comfortable bed in attractive room, great bathroom, friendly owners and lavish breakfast. Location excellent an easy walk to everything in the old town. Guests might like to tell the staff in advance of breakfast if they are vegetarian - there is a lot of meat provided automatically and its a shame to waste it.
brilliant hotel 2 minutes from town centre breakfast more than we could eat and a shower like no other do not be put off by size and location once inside its a different world
We loved the location (not that difficult to find, if you follow directions), the room was very comfortable and cute with a lot of character, and the balcony which tea/coffee was served, but most of all we loved the owners. She was the most gracious host even carrying our bags up the staircase by herself. I think the service is what makes this hotel the best! Oh and the breakfast is amazing! Best breakfast ever, and the owner bakes the most amazing pastries! Not a single thing we didn't like! Everything was perfect!
Great Service - Owner was present every day - Very Helpful
I got the rooftop room which was had a nice terrace and beautiful views
The location of the hotel. The home made breakfast each day was excellent and well presented. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable about the area.
Amazing hosts, beautiful B&B style hotel with only a few well designed rooms, attention to detail, great breakfast served on balcony. Nafplio is an amazingly quaint town and this hotel was a breath of fresh air after arriving from Athens. Couldn't have asked for more. None.
A good welcome, help with parking in a very congested town. Traditional house, well restored and with atmosphere, right in the centre of Nauplion. Very comfortable room and we enjoyed the balcony. Good variety of choices for breakfast and friendly service. Breakfast could have started before 9 am , although I am sure they would have done this if we had asked. ( If you are visiting nearby popular sites such as Mycenae you need to be there at 8-30 before the crowds!) Although in general the breakfast was excellent , we would have liked local cheeses rather than a processed one but this was a small quibble when there was a variety of alternatives.
This is a wonderful little hotel. The staff is exceptional and the whole place is tasteful, restful and convenient. No.
The view from the top of the house and the breakfast-room. And the personal service. The bathroom-blanket - there was some mold. And the breakfast could be more various.
This hotel was the best thing about my recent trip - I can't recommend it strongly enough. It's small and welcoming, with a family-run feel to it. It's spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. It has a fantastic view over the old town of Naufplion and a little terrace with orange and lemon trees where you can sit and relax with a cup of coffee. The breakfast buffet is absolutely delicious - local produce and everything freshly prepared. But the best thing about it is the staff - everyone was so helpful and friendly, and just really willing to go that little bit further to make you feel at home. I stayed for 3 nights and I didn't want to leave! I paid 90 euros a night, which I thought was very reasonable given the standard of service No.
This was a charming hotel and they provided a really nice spread for breakfast, which you could take on the lovely garden patio or in the salon with a view over town and the harbor. The owner was super friendly and helpful. I had to take the bath soaps home because they smelled so good. Only 2 complaints-- running the A/C gave the room an unpleasant sulfurous smell, although it didn't seem to bother my husband. Also, you have to haul your luggage up a street of stairs as it's not accessible by vehicle. Charming, but also tiring.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast area (outdoor and indoor) with good seaview. It was relaxing sitting under the shady lemon trees.
I liked the design of the room, the friendliness of our guests, the breakfast on a lovely terrace.
The staff were so welcoming it was like staying with friends. the location was perfect in the old town of Nafplio.
Small and exclusive, quiet and cozy.
Its a very nice hotel, kind helpfull people, a wonderfull view over the nice village, clean, beautifull rooms. I can imagine that the stairs to reach the hotel can be a problem for elder people who don't walk good
