Quiet location, good sized room, clean and comfortable
Excellent value. Spacious, modern, clean rooms. Quiet. A lot of parking space.
Nice place to stay for the night. Rooms are big, clean and calm. Good quality for the price. Nothing much to do around though. Food is avoidable.
We went to La Coruna and to the beach, you can walk to the beach.
The contemporary feel of the hotel. Very clean and staff very helpful. No room service after midnight. A complementary bottle of water in fridge for when guests arrive and a microwave in the kitchen would be handy.
Quiet area. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Generally good experience overall. We would have no problem recommending this hotel. Although the weather was not too hot we might have used airconditioning once or twice. However, the AC was not working.
It was ideal for our purpose. To see La Coruna and the countryside around Everything perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everything! The entire stay was amazing. The staff, the location, the rooms... everything was perfect. I can honestly say that it was one of my best experiences at a hotel.
Spacious room and facilities Restaurant menu limited
Peaceful, out of town but within easy access, nice views of A Coruna Hotel Main door driveway!
Rooms were extremely comfortable and the views impressive.
The hotel location is very good; the rooms are big. There is a problem with the hotel buiding concept: as the rooms windows are huge (which is nice), the rooms facing the sea, at the end of the afternoon - at least in the summer - get so much sunlight that the rooms temperature are intolerable and the air conditioning system can't solve the problem (we had to ask to change to another room facing the street). These room's bathrooms don't have air conditioning and, due to that, you just can't say longer than one minute there at the end of the afternoon, in the summer. The whole hotel cleanliness is sloppy, as you notice some small details in cleanliness which are intolerable. The breakfast (food and service) is, undoubtly a 3 star hotel breakfast.
Lovely quiet location overlooking beach, close to good bars and restaurants.Recently refurbished to a high standard.Short drive from airport. Pool not filled but was the end of May so perhaps too early in the season
the sea view is amazing, perfect romantic walkways near the beach, the rooms are well-design and feel fresh and clean. Sea view is obligatory, the front-faced rooms have half the chemistry.
The location close to the sea.
The location and view across the bay to A Corunna. A clean and modern hotel.
It's closing for refurbishment in the New Year and will then be 4 star, and more expensive !!!
It's a very quiet hotel, the surroundings are great, and very close to La Coruna central city. There are several beautiful beaches and even great mountains
Good location. The sea, restaurants and some shops are at walking distance. It takes a 5-minute drive to a proper beach. The room is contemporary decorated and very clean. Friendly staff, but no one speaks English, so be sure bring your dictionary.
amazing hotel, modern style, great sea view, good restaurant, excellent value for money paid. 1- no internet in rooms even though it advertises that wifi is possible in the entire hotel. not true, they only have it it the public area and, never had it in the rooms.2 - room is boiling hot, one wall is all glass and the sun hits on. heavy curtains and air con did help a bit, but still - very hot until sunset.we stayed there in late September, not so bad, but I can imagine what it's like in summer. That said - all the rest was fantastic.
The price for breakfast:-orange juice, 2 slices of sliced already buttered bread, and coffee= 5 euros!!!!!!!!!!!
everyone so very friendly and welcoming just the location - hotel situated accross from large industrial factory -
There wasn't climatisation in the rooms and it was very stuffy that we had to open the window, but during the hight we have been picked by many mosquitos...
We were wlcomed in a most friendly manner. The service was generally very good and all staff most obliging. I will keep it in my list of hotels for holiday stop overs and recommend it to others.
Friendly staff who responded to our need for a meal when we arrived at 10.00pm! Comfortable room, bed and bathroom. Easy and free parking. Only 10 minutes from the airport (allow 20 mins during rush-hour) Bedroom wall was a bit thin and we could hear the conversations and television from the guest next door. Breakfast does not start until 8.00am making it too late for anyone with an early departure time for business or flights.
Friendly staff, clean room Very small, window up high so could not see out. Felt claustrophobic.
A little cold (both the room and the cafeteria)
Very clean and compfortable room! The rooms are a little cold because it has central heating so you can not control it from the room.
Friendly staff (English speaking as well). Nice room. Restaurant in the hotel with fruits of the sea. Free parking but no good public transport (only one bus stop nearby). Good for tourists with car, a petrol station opposite to the hotel. The airport is close by with taxi. The curtains had a bad smell as a result of smoking in the room! Wifi was very slow, only good for sending an e-mail, but not for browsing.
All the staff were very helpful.
It rated more like 3 star than it's designated 1 star
Cleanliness. To expensive for the location/facilities.
This is a nice small hotel with friendly staff. Nice neighbourhood and fine location if you come by car. Near some fine beaches. Free parking in the street, no problem in off-season. Rooms are small, but ok. Some difficulty trying to communicate in English but everyone is friendly and helpful so no problem really. No English language TV. The included breakfast is a very basic affair: 1 coffee, 1 juice and 1 croissant.
Well situated, a few minutes walking from the nice Sante Cristina Beach. We got a nice room with a balcony, where we could sit. There is also a small garden, where you can have a drink or a meal. Although the hotel is located at the road along the coast, with lots of traffic, the rooms are very quite, even if you leave the door to the balcony open. The main reason for this is that the hotel is situated much lower than the road, so the noise is flying over. The staff is extemely friendly and notat all trying to sqeeze the money out of your pocket. We couldn't mention anything.
The relationship between price and value was excellent. The rooms are beautiful! Very peaceful and with a lovely view. The lady at the front desk is a gem!
good quiet location room not the description on website
Very helpful staff comfortable room car park
Clean, newly decorated hotel, efficiently run. Good size room and bathroom so good value. Had first floor sea facing room with balcony, good view and no noise. Slept very well. Enjoyed breakfasts in agreeable dining room. very steep drive in/out of garage. Start of walk to beach unattractive. Not especially easy to nip into the City.
Friendly staff. Balcony with a nice view to the garden. Cleanliness of the room and hotel in general. Drive way to the car parking (extremely steep but feasible). Nice but simple breakfast.
Leaving the hotel before the 7 nights ended The bed was extremely hard making it so uncomfortable you couldn't get a good nights sleep. The shower was inadequate, toilet behind the door and facing the wall made it very cramped to sit down, Air conditioning was none existent you had no choice but to have the window open at all times and then got road noise from passing cars off the main busy road. Parking was tight and in a bigger vehicle we would not have been able to get into the parking area. The breakfast was very poor with not much selection, only allowed one small glass of orange juice per person. Language was an issue as the staff couldn't converse in English. Lift out of order and had to carry heavy bags as no porter
This is a modern and comfortable hotel with excellent facilities There is very little written information available in English. I had to ask for spa prices. There was a golf course, but I've no idea of the cost of a round. The site also has some history behind it, but there was no information in English to guide us.
The hotel has everything. Tranquil setting, private wood, golf, balneario, well signposted so easy to find. Central for visits to Coruña and Santiago. Friendly staff, immpecably clean, great chef. Nothing. Close to perfection as possible.
Large luxury hotel set in extensive grouds just outside of a quite attractive and friendly town. Very pricey spa available on site. Friendly, helpful, English-speaking staff. Sumptuous room with beautiful woodland outlook. Phenomenal buffet breakfast. Great value for money for accomodation of this calibre. The spa facilities were enticing but very expensive.
The bed and the breakfast. Very comfortable. A little bit difficult to reach.
golf course couldn't use sauna as part of thermal club
Helpful courteous staff. Clean and tidy hotel and rooms.
Rooms were cold oct 16th
friendly staff who were helpful and spoke some English; clean, well-designed rooms; modern luxury feel the restaurant only caters for top of the range: expensive wine, lobster and crab menu; there should be a menu that allows for Camino travellers, who are not looking for cordon bleu, but simple Spanish food
The size of the room Restaurant usually not open. To go to both restaurant and cafeteria one have to go outdoors for approx. 100 m and this is a problem when it is raining. 2 times during the stay there was no hot water in the morning.
We had a large bedroom with very effective air conditioning which was very welcome. The receptionist was friendly, helpful and spoke excellent English. A long walk from either bus or train stations, but there are few hotels in the town. The hotel was located in the newer part of town that was a short walk from the old town we wanted to visit.
A very clean and tidy hotel that is kept to a high standard. The town is small and charming, perfect for a half day visit. The breakfast was extremely sparce. We were given square white bread from an industrial bakery that tasted like cardboard. Surely fresh pastry or bread from the local bakery would not have been too difficult to offer clients?
Hotel Garelos saved our day. We were booked in at a 4*Hotel in Santiago del Compostella, and owing to road repairs could not access our chosen hotel at all. Thanks to Booking.com they manage to get us a last minute booking at a small hotel in Batanzos, only about 40 minutes in the direction in which we were going. It was only 2 star, but it was clean, comfortable, and friendly, though very little English spoken. This hotel was The Garelos, which also had air-conditioning. Obviously, only being 2* star, we couldn't have an evening meal and Batanzos itself, had very few restaurants available serving food, but hundreds of cafe/bars, only serving coffee and drinks! In answer to the two questions below I would recommend the hotel for anyone in the area needing a base and the second question is not applicable.
The staff were helpful polite and very accommodating.Bags were taken to the room and mini bottle of bubbly on our arrival for my birthday. The location was perfect in the centre of town. Rooms were spacious and clean.
The hotel and sight were wonderful, beautiful site up on the hill. The owner was very gracious. We were staying in hotels, while hiking the Camino Ingles, this was farther out of town then we realized. It was very well marked, but hard to get into town for dinner.
