Pros: Very nice stay in this place. The cottages are really nice and the restaurant provides great Russian food. The staff is really friendly and available. And a special thank to Evgeny who could really help us in so many aspects, as our Russian is so limited. We really recommend this place !!
Pros: Very friendly staff. Got our everything sorted out with our bad Russian and Google Translator. They fixed us something to eat eaven we arrived late. Rowhouse cottage was clean and modern, well equipped.
Cons: The breakfast could have been more than just porridge and croissants.
Cons: The area around
When you stay at Abyrvalg Hotel in Issad, you'll be on the beach and 11 minutes by car from Lake Ladoga. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. Event facilities at this hotel consist of conference space and a meeting room. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Decent hotel located in the middle of nowhere. The construction of the bridge has nearly finished, so it's no longer noisy, although by all means not quiet, as the road is just 50 m away. Well equipped and nicely decorated rooms with good heating. Fairly priced cafe serving good food, also for breakfast.
Cons: Wi-Fi is available in the main building only, but even in the main building it did not work (luckily, the mobile signal was good enough). The lock in my room did not open. I had to leave through the window(!) and open the door from the outside. Water is really an issue. It's probably not hazardous, but its color and smell are repelling.
Staraya Ladoga Hotel is located in Staraya Ladoga Village, 8 km from Volkhov. Free WiFi access is available. Private bathroom also comes with free toiletries. Extras include bed linen. At Staraya Ladoga Hotel you will find a shared kitchen. There is a football field nearby. Various cafes are short walk away. Staraya Ladoga Bus Stop is a 10-minute walk away.
Pros: The sole concierge was very welcoming. I had a problem getting back to St. Petersburg, and she solved it. I was there coincidentally during the annual town celebration. It was fun. Lots of music and a camel for kids to ride on. The hotel was therefore packed, indeed with kids, but surprisingly well behaved and not at all intrusive. There are two restaurants in town, and I found both completely satisfactory. (There is no breakfast provided at the hotel, but you do have a common kitchen, and there is a grocery store --more than one). The reason you are here as a tourist is the fortress, in particular the Church of St. George with 12th-century frescoes, some of them, reasonably intact inside. It's a beauty, a Russian beauty not to be missed.
Cons: I would not have taken the hotel if I had realized there are only shared bathrooms. On the other hand, I might have taken it anyway once I understood there was little alternative. There is another hotel close by, but I don't know whether they have private bath. My landing on the stairs had nearly a dozen kids and at least two adults sharing the bathroom I used. It was not a problem, I am surprised to report. They all got up so early, the coast was clear when I arose.
Pros: We have booked two rooms for us and our parents- standard and juniour suite. We liked suite room as it is actually one room flat with kitchen.we are very grateful to the administrators who shared and brought a medicine for our kid which have catched a flue during our stay.
Cons: It would be nice to have a standart hotel shampoo set in the bathroom. Also after our check-in the shared bathroom were not clean enough and the bin at the toilet was full, though we were alone.
