Excellent location, very helpful and friendly staff, fresh breakfast with limited verities, safe family atmosphere. Free internet high-speed service is excellent, but you can only enjoy in in your room, don’t expect the nice and conformable lobby. I booked a suite but unfortunately I couldn’t get it before 2 nights, the reason was a mistake in the booking system allowed bauble booking on the rooms. In return, the hotel management offered to us a complementary dinner for that mistake (it was mentioned in my booking confirmation that there will be a free dinned after Nov. 15th and I was staying up to the 17th , what they did is they gave it a bit earlier) and it was a good dinner.
On the whole the staff were excellent and the hotel is in a superb location. The staff in the breakfast lounge were a bit rude and although breakfast was served till 10am, when we got there at 9am food had run out and was not being replaced by the staff.
i could see the terrace of St. Shophia even from my balcony which means it's really close from this hotel. Breakfast was nice. staff were really kind. When we had a trouble with a taxi driver they came out and deal with it
It is near all historic monuments, tram,Bosfor
Location and hotel had a very welcoming feel.
Tula's a very kind and nice person. A good person for the hotel. The rest of the staff didn't smile at all. I'm used to smiling people in the hospitality sector. All of them go the extra miles for the guests, so they feel welcomed and not as a burden.
Staff of the hotel and central placement in the old center Can't think of anything
staff were helpful location is right on the main street. noisy at night
location is very good, right in the old city center Some rooms are small some are bigger, depends on luck what you get.
Hotel location is excellent, staff are friendly and helpful, hotel rear terrace charming space. Hard beds, poor bathrooms, patchy house keeping.
the location the shower leaked all over the floor
Excellent location. Staff very helpful.
Excellent location for visiting the main attractions, right next to Hagia Sophia. Friendly staff and decent breakfast Room was pretty small.
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the location was perfect for sightseeing with everything beingn within walking distance of the hotel.
The staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was spacious, immaculate, and nicely decorated.
A great restaurant that prepares Ottoman palace cuisine. The location is amazing! Easy walking distance to all major Sultanahmet landmarks. The staff - they were always cheerful and helpful. My room was a bit small.
Friendly staff. Location was okay but the traffic to the hotel was not allowed. I have walked 5 minutes to the hotel. They sent a guy to help me. Room was too tiny. Small. Bad design. You have to take 10 steps down from the door to the bed. It looked like a grave.
The location is excellent, most of the interesting places are within walking distance. The hotel staff were very helpful & polite. The rooms were cleaned regularly every AM, our room was always clean, neat & tidy everytime we returned to hotel after the trips. Nothing
The room was very clean and the hotel staffs are very kind.
very friendly service in the bathroom, the water ran out of the shower, the toiletring wasn't well attached
Great location. Very helpful staff. Great breakfast as well.
close to the historical sites
Too much communication between the rooms
The family room was large enough and well situated in Sultanamet
The location and also the breakfast. Our room was the cheapest one, so be ready to stay next to the elevator and no view at all since there's another house next to the window.
the thing we liked the most is the location and the price with a clam room decoration the staff was realy very friendly
the room was quiet, nice view,.. we were on the last floor, all the smoking coming from downstairs cumulated in our place.. maybe an open window in the stairs would help..
location they don't have terrasse
Good position>frendly staff
Location was great and staff was friendly and helpful. Value was great also.
its location is excellent. except of trying to charge us for more about picking up from the airport everything was fine.
لا شي إزعاج شديد من الترام لا يوجد عوازل بين الغرف خدمه سيء من عمال النظافه في الغرف إفطار غير متنوع لم يعجني شي لا أنصح به أبد
The hotel is on the main road in the old town of Istanbul and thus conveniently located for the sights. Most guests would stay between 1 and 2 nights max. which is probably as much as one can endure without (a good night's) sleep. Cleanliness is o.k. Service is friendly enough and trying, but.... This is one of the noisiest locations ever with trams passing, restaurant visitors cheering, generators running, guests talking/arguing in hotel corridors, bathroom noises at least 20/7. We stayed at both side/front and back rooms but there is simply no chance one can escape the noise anywhere in this hotel. Rooms are run-of-the-mill and rather dated. Breakfast is a basic and uncharitable affair not to be compared with other hotels in this category. Expect to pay extra if you want a decent cup of coffee. Steer clear of other meals, e.g. dinner!! The awkward/messy Hamam/Sauna (without a shower) area in the basement at €20 extra is to be avoided. Bottom line: Prices are on the high side - and, by no means is this a 4 star hotel !!
Great location The mattress in the room was uncomfortable.
Both service and location: The reception is professional and extremely helpful, the rest of the staff are also very friendly and pleasant. The hotel is comfortable and in walking distance to major tourist sites. (We are from Canada, we stayed in this hotel in late August, 2007 for 3 nights. This is our first experience with this hotel.)
Everything! The hotel itself was immaculate -- the room was superb; the location was fantastic, and the staff was extremely courteous. We unconditionally recommend the Empire Palace! No
Clean, good service, good facilities, great location, value for money We heard rumors that the Hotel use to to do overbooking, so sometimes moves visitors to nearby hotels
Location, most staff polite and helpful The statement about internet access on the website led me to expext more. In fact ther was only a not entirely releible wireless connection in the lobby area. This meant it was hard for me to work. This si a tourist hoel raher than a business one.
Central position, availability of the staff, possibility of massage, excellent ratio price/quality
Good location for sight seeing and transport links. Good clean rooms, excellent staff and service, great breakfast buffet.
Location is great: all sightseeings within walking distance. Rooms are OK. Staff is extremely nice, but they know about hotel reviews on Internet and ask you to give them a good review. You will get no sleep in Istanbul. It's not the hotel's fault, but there are big speakers right in front of it. At 4.45 am every night there were very loud calls for prayers from the nearby mosques. Every hotel in the old town will have this problem. Also the traffic is loud. The curtains did not close, so light came in every morning 6.00 am.
Everything was ok , no problems during check in. Breakfast - nothing special. Room was clean - that was most important.
First class from the moment we walked through the door! Any and all requests that we had were immediately fulfilled. The staff working at the hotel are top notch. Since we arrived early our room was not ready, but we were shown two other rooms and chose the second. Great attention to detail from the free Turkish Delight placed in the center of the enormous bed to the hand written note "to our special guests." A wonderful place run by wonderful people with both taste and talent. We did not feel like a number at Sirkeci Konak but rather were given individual attention. Ezgi Kepsutlu gave us special time in laying out the details of how to get to where we wanted to go and answered other questions that we had. We will return!
Fantastic location: within easy walk of the Haggia Sophia, Blue Mosque, the Grand Bazaar and the ferry port. Off the main road on a quiet side road and very close (less than 50 metres) from the nearest tram stop. Wonderful staff and superb Guest Relations staff made us very welcome. Rooms were clean, very comfortable and well furnished. The bathroom was small but perfectly adequate for our needs, was clean and everything worked as expected. The bedrooms are not huge but we had a small balcony where we could stand but not sit outside. Breakfast was fantastic and varied and the complimentary teatime Apple/Turkish tea and rolls were a nice touch as were the delicious Turkish Delight found on arrival and at departure. There was nothing really which troubled us. Some of the walls seemed thin and we could occasionally hear voices but the guests were all well mannered so not really a problem. The taxi driver found it very difficult to find the hotel despite asking several people in Istanbul but not really a fault of the hotel! Take directions if you have them - the taxi drivers are not like those in London who know every street in their city.
Very clean and friendly. Location is quite noisy in the morning.
The staff were excellent. Everyone was extremely helpful and gracious. The ammenities in the hotel, from breakfast to afternoon tea as well as the facilities, all gratis, are great. If we return to Istanbul, we will be staying here again.
Everything. Could not find any fault with the hotel and the service at all. Wish more hotels were like it.
The Excellent staff attention. At every turn they went out of the way to be helpful. The billing charges from Booking.com were not clearly stated to us by booking.com so there were unexpected charges at the end.
This hotel is extremely well located. Great staff. Available and always helpful with a smile. Top of our priority list when we go back to Istanbul.
The location near the railway station, Topkapi and Hagia Sofia was really good. The hotel is not the largest (in any sense) but the service was generally impeccable. Breakfast was good and the small baths in the basement section a delight. Nicely done rooms. Our room was quite narrow. The bar in the lobby was not manned but one had to ask bell boy or find a waiter.
The staff were attentive to our every need and friendly without being too effusive. Nothing was too much trouble. When we were kept awake by overnight building work in the building next door (which was beyond their control) they gave us a rebate on our bill. I would have prefered more drawer space for clothes in the room.
cleanliness of our room nothing just some minor problems about wireless LAN in rooms
We booked online and quickly realised we had booked for the wrong month, drop down menu reset itself, contacted Kayak straight away who contacted the hotel, but they would change the dates! And yes they kept our money. Disappointed.
Very vriendly and helpfull staff. Central location of the hotel is great and close to all monuments. Size of the room as well bathroom is good and really clean. Hardly any noise from outside considering the location in the old city, only 5 min. in the early morning from the mosque. No
Great location on a quiet street, the Blue Mosque and Aya Sophiya 3 minutes walk, a street with nice restraurants 5 minutes walk, tram stop 5 minutes walk. Extremely nice and helpful staff, great breakfast with local cuisine, spacy and cozy rooms! In case we come to Istanbul again we will definitely choose the same hotel! Everything was fine!
Well located. The service was terrible and we left the hotel after one day. When we checked in we were assigned to a back building on the third floor by stairs.Problems found: AC was not working and the night was really cold, the courtains where transparent and we couldn t sleep, there is a lot of noise at night as there is a trush dump at the back of the hotel, the light went of three times at least and there is no back up generator, the cable was just porn which is "very nice" when your kidds turn on the TV. Hotel manager was rude and disrespectful.
The staff was very friendly, they spoke very good English. The hotel is located just 2 minutes from Ayia Sofia and Blue Mosque. From the terrace you have a wonderful view of Istanbul. No air-condition and it gets really hot!
close to all tourist attractions, dont have to take any taxis, you could walk anywhere
location there is not dark curtains, poor breakfast, small rooms
this hotel is ok, and it is situated between st sofia and blue mosque...so what else does it matter?just go on the terrace and u know what i mean. they really need put a proper closet in the room...i think the rooms are nice just the way they are...but i kept my clothes on a beautiful armchair i couldn t see!you can only hang shirts in the closet..but we were 2 ...and we stayed in the suite. i also sae my mums double room...very nice but the same problem,...and this and that..i ll give them an 8...
Its location no hot water on shower in three different rooms (305, 404 and 603) and strong licking on room 404 when raining...floor on room and aisle was shocking wet.
Arriving at the airport the car from the hotel didn 't come to meet us, despite of that I had reserved this car already 2 weeks earlier. And when looking at booking.com I reserved the Deluxe room, bur arriving at the hotel we have the standart room, very noisy. And the repair work took place near the hotel.
1)Staff at the reception smily and with intention to be helpful. 2) basic comfort and cleanliness 3) location near old historical neighborhood 1) Description of hotel does not mention all the added extras, when describing having a gym center, a billiard room, a nightclub, which are all charged if used. 2) Be carefull as price in booking.com and on direct website of hotel indicated in euro but on payement the charge in TL so you end up paying more then initially decided. That is mentionned no where, neither on booking.com site nor on hotel site. 3) Breakfast buffet even didn't seem apeeling. 4)no personnal touch or feeling of being at home, which i got from hotel hotellino where i stayed previous two nights, just next door. As conclusion, it is a practical hotel with good location. Don't expect anything else.
The hotel is perfect located in Sultan Ahmad area, near blu mosque and all sight seeing area in European side in Istanbul. Clean hotel with Ok breakfast. Helpful personal.
Clean,good locatıon,frıendly staff, free ınternet
Close to main attractions in İstanbul. Breakfast catered for Europeans. As well it is unacceptable wıth the rates that the hotel charges to be then asked to pay extra for orange juıce and omelettes.
we liked the bright light in our room, the view on Aga Sofia, the quietness of the street. On top of that the decoration for the hotel is fine.
Charming how the old character of the hotel has been maintained but modern comfort has been incorporated. Excellent breakfast!
Great location. Staff super helpful. Rooms are pretty small though. Beds are also a little hard. Great place for the $$.
Convenient location near main sites. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Location Hotel airportshuttle service price.
We stayed 4 nights at celal sultan hotel & it was great time there, everything is so close by the hotel, just within walking distance like Blue Mosque, Sophia Hagia & most of museum . a bit hard to find , always use google .
Very nice view from terrace, although the terrace is rather small. View from most hotel rooms is Hotel staff was friendly. Breakfast was plentiful and of good quality and an attempt was made to offer some daily variations, although three days in a row the same (?!) sausages were on display... Sent an email to the hotel 36 hours before our arrival, requesting airport pickup. Email was lost in the hotel's email system -> pickup not available. However, a taxi from the airport is easy and also a cheaper option.
The hotel and its surrounding
I liked my comfortable room with a modern bath. It had a view directly onto the Hagia Sophia one block away (back rooms do not). The room was not "small" for being in a boutique hotel in an old building. The breakfast buffet had a good selection of breads, jams, cheeses, cereals, fruits, etc. It's located on a quiet side street with virtually no through traffic, and the staff are friendly and attentive - a minor furniture issue was fixed immediately. The interior has been refurbished and "designed" by some consultant, and they created an attractive and livable hotel. Compared to many hotels in the old town this place is a gem. I will stay here again if I return to Istanbul. I had no problems during my five day stay. They were keen to have me use the hotel shuttle (a mini van) on my way to the airport, although it may have cost slightly more than a taxi (though that would be subject to unpredictable traffic). No doubt they need to keep the driver occupied for those times when a group needs the bus. The hotel's rooftop restaurant is very pricey, but the view makes it worth while to eat there at least once.
the location is excellent and the staff very friendly the parkingfacilities are separate from the hotel to be paid and that was not alwasy clear
Very helpful staff, held our luggage, helped with any questions, free internet! I understand there is a new wing with bigger rooms, although we asked for that section we were not put there. We were on the 4th floor with a pleasant room, only it was right below the restaurant, which was quite noisy with people coming and going. It closed at 11pm and was quiet after that.
Great location, fast check in and check out, very good price. The Wi-Fi did not work while I stayed there. I was told there was probably an ID mismatch, but it was clear that the Wi-Fi was just down and it did not ask for user ID and password as it should have. Luckily there are pubs and cafes that offer Wi-Fi around, so I used my laptop outside the hotel.
The location of hotel is wonderful, good breakfasts. Clean rooms. Good price with booking.com. Rooms are very small, stuff was not informed about working time of museums and fairy boat timetable.
Great location! Good service and nice room. Nice spring price.
Clean and comfortable
bathrum breakfast, becouse was the same each day
Everything is great! But room is a little small
Its is close,5-10 mins walk, to all the important sightseeings and close to the tram station as well. fantastic location! Our Room was small and you can hear your neighbors. You can ask for bigger rooms that are available as wel at the hotel. The breaksfast was served in the tables and it is shared with other couples but you can find easily many things to eat outside from the hotel.
everything was clean, quiet
great location for sightseeing in istanbul. very tidy and clean. has wireless in room and also bar fridge. not much sound proofing so could hear people in the hallway very clearly and also in the bathroom (form the bathroom upstairs). breakfast was lousy, i didnt bother after the first morning.
it was a very good 3 star hotel. clean and tidy and the staff were very nice and very polite and ready to help. the triple room was of very good size for 3 adults and one child.
Perfect location, 5 min to Haya Sofia, 1 min to Tram station Gulhane. Good breakfast with goat cheese, many kind of bread, milk, coffee, juice, cheese, ham, butter, jams, boiled eggs, olives, tea, etc. Free wifi. Kindness of cleaning staff. Reception staff a little bit unfriendly
New Hotel in a great position, extremely helpful and friendly staff, safe, quiet and clean.
Location was fabulous. Breakfast on rooftop has amazing views. Hard beds. Noise from construction next door.
We stayed at Tan Hotel for 3 days. The staff was extremely helpful and very polite. The hotel architecture is superb, especially the terrace restaurant where we had breakfast and could see the view of all of dowtown Istanbul. Overall it was a great experience and this hotel made it all the more better! We highly recommend it and would stay here again!
Excellent location, very good value for your money! Nice rooftop terrace, very helpful staff at the breakfast and the bar. Be careful, the reception staff is cheating about the free transfer between the hotel and the airport. We wanted to use the hotel -> airport transfer since we went by train from the airport. The reception staff said that only the airport -> hotel transfer was offered by the booking site. Of course this was untrue. After I mentioned him, that his colleague (who was working at night) confirmed or transfer is available, it became available immediatelly. Nice attempt!
The staff is friendly and helpfull. There is no luxury but room service is very efficient and the breakfast is delicious. I came with my wife and 5 yr old boy and we recommend.
Everything was very nice. Hotel staff very friendly, clean, centar of Istanbul... If I stayed longer, maybe there would be less of space for wardrobe.
Friendliness/helpfulness of staff. Close proximity to major tourist attractions. Exceptionally clean and modern. More information needed in the rooms about locality. Safety deposit box not that secure (flimsy connection to cupboard) - would be better in the wardbrobe?
Closeness to the centre. The hotel was clean, comfortable and the staff were always very helpful. The breakfast choices were a bit limited, could be better. It would be useful if they provided facilities to make hot drinks in your room.
We liked all ))) We liked all )))
Excellent location, only minutes walking distance to the main tourist sights and the tram link and surrounded by restaurants. The hotel could not be better located but in a relatively quiet side street so not disturbed by external noise. The lady on reception during our stay was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast staff also very good. Breakfast was adequate but the selection was poor. It could be improved. More external seating would help to enjoy the Bospherous views at breakfast.
The location is superb, right in the centre of the tourist district. The outstanding feature is the roof terrace and restaurant, views of all the main sights just a few hundred yards away. Very helpful staff. The rooms are a bit small
Staff, location, breakfast are all excellent. Comfortable rooms, clean and well furnished.
Friendly and helpfull staff. Good location for tourists. Bedrooms nicely furnished. Transport from airport to hotel was on time- well organized.
The staff were welcoming and very helpful, in particular Halil. The hotel was central to all the most important sights in Istanbul and it had a wonderful Panoramic Restaurant with spectacular views of the city. Should we return to Istanbul, we will definitely stay here again. The smoking floors 1,3 and 5 - it would be better if the hotel was completely non smoking.
Fantastic view from restaurant, very helpful and friendly staff. Lovely modern bathrooms and very comfortable bedrooms.
1. View from the terrace last floor 2. Kindness of the driver 3. Kindness of one of the receptionist Breakfast. That the family room wasn't available when we arrived, that we were 4 in a room for 2 the first night and that we had to move the following day.
Very clean, beautiful views from terrace. We had bag mix up at airport and staff very helpful .I would definately stay again and recommend it.Superb location, walking distance to Blue mosque and Topakapi palace. Perhaps breakfast menu needs some attention.
Very good location, nice panoramic view from roof restaurant Air condition very loud. Unfortunately even after switching it off it was still high noice in the room as arcondition cooler supporting other rooo was fixed next to our room window.
The hotel is very well located, being at walking distance from the main city attractions, from very good restaurants. There is even a small super-market up the street. The view from the restaurant and from the terrace are super. Having breakfast at sunrise was marvelous. The room is very small (read extremely small). The bathroom is even smaller. It's ok granted you're not there to spend your time in the hotel. The food served at breakfast was fair (good, but no change during days). Internet was there but sometimes the connection speed was too slow even for email reading.Again, if you don't mind a very small room (less then 0.5 meters around the bed - our room was the smallest in the hotel) the position is among the best.
Good hotel, small but excelent location. Standard Double rooms are small but very clean and nice. Excelent view from the panoramic restaurant and terrace. It was a nice stay.from this hotel you can go almost everywhere in Sultanamet walking, even to Bosforous boat departure in eminonu, just 10m walking.
Nice restaurant, good service, good location, clean and quiet. Very small room for two people and for the price
Location is great - walking distance to everything in the old city, plus plenty of places to eat & shop. Front desk staff very helpful - English was fluent. Room at back of hotel - good because no street noise, but pretty small (this was basic room, others at front of hotel were bigger) Difficult to move around if you have a lot of luggage. Ensuite tiny. Still, you're only there to sleep - it is Istanbul & everything is open until very late! Wifi only in lobby - would have been nice to have it in the room.
Good location, close to transportation and sights. Friendly staff. Quite small rooms, extra bedside table or wardrobe can be useful
Clean rooms. Good breakfast. Great.
good location for sightseeing, great breakfast buffet very old dodgy lifts, rooms old and not too clean
big spacy room. friendly staff. /
conditioner breakfast very very bad, its about 2 stars hotel
location was very good and the rate is good for the room you get
conveniently located , helpful staff , clean environment no complaints
We weren't happy with our first room choice and Manager upgraded us to very nice room with a sitting room. Also liked the 15 minute free internet in lounge off reception. The fact that they said they had a swimming pool and it was actually at the hotel next door.
a bit noisy, but otherwise very recommendable. friendly staff and great bang for the bucks construction area for a new metro just beside the hotel
It is for the second time when I stayed at Ipek Palas hotel. It is clean, comfortable, has very nice staff, and best location - near the most important touristic sites. The food is good, fresh and the new restaurant look very well. It also have free wireless internet which works pretty good. I like everything about this hotel.
Excelent location, nice restaurant, good brekfast, in the main friendly staff. Queen size bed was little too small
nothing No electric, painting and decorating happeningin the hotel, left after one night
great location and great price for a nice hotel the construction going on in and around the hotel
Hotel's position in center of Eminonu Poor breakfast, the building needs improvement, few and too much used towels
the only thing we liked of this hotel was the location. Yes, many things such as: 1) the hotel was being renovated, so there were works being undertaken in the lobby. 2) Our room was very small, no TV, it had been recently painted so the smell of painting was really bad. 3) this hotel is qualified as 3 stars, I would not consider this even with a one star.
Room cleaness. However we should be advise in advane by the hotel that the restaurant would be under reformation and because of that the half-board wouldn't be possible, but only APA. Besides that the hotel is fine, very well localized and has a familiar environment.
Central location, walking distance from every historical monuments
