This is a stylish and relaxing hotel enjoying excellent views amongst beautiful countryside. Ainsa is a pretty nearby town.
The quietness of the place combined with excellent service and friendly personell. Also the possiblity to explore the Pyrenees.
This is a superb hotel. The rooms were excellent, the public areas also, The cafeteria was very relaxing, the staff very good. Breakfast was excellent. TYhe downside was the restaurant. We had dinner there and althought the staff were very good indeed, the actual meal was disappointing. There was something not freshly cooked about it. Dinner, as above. That is all. This is a special hotel.
Peace and quiet. Lack of help for non spanish speaking customers. We speak english and french
I appreciate that tourists should try to speak some of the lingo but some English menus would have been very helpful.
The position and tranquilty of the hotel, such an impressive building One of the best hotels I have visited
The design of Hotel. The breakfast. The location of the Hotel and the nature of vicinity. The design of Vilas. The manner of the staff. The resturant working time and capacity was very limited and strange for a 5 star hotel. Internet was available in the room but not WiFi and the cable to connect to the laptop was not available. The menu of room service was very poor. There were no shelter for parking.
Lovely building and decor. Bar and dining room staff great. Where do I start? 202 euros per night and all apparently to pay for the renovation costs and works of art. Had to pay 22 euros each just to use the jacuzzi pools-couldn,t this be included in the huge room price? Also swimming hats compulsory-another 7 euros each! Had to book a time and have an hour. Had to change in room and go through hotel in bathrobes even though there are changing rooms in the spa. Had to use pools, showers and saunas in the order and manner dictated by staff. You are stuck at the hotel as it is a long walk into Boltano, which looks horrible. Kept waiting to check in and out by sole receptionist being constantly on phone
The building is very nice and unique in its design. We stayed in 1 bedroom villa which was very spacious and comfortable. The person in the front desk told us that we dont need to reserve a place in the hotel's restaurant for dinner, but in the end we were very dissapointed because there was no place for us.
Being originally a monastery the building was most interesting and had been converted to a good standard of comfort. There was no porterage so we had to manage our suitcases without assistance although there was a luggage lift which we required assitance from the staff to know how to work. Also, the meal in the dining room was so unsatisfactory we sent it back. To be fair we were not charged for it and were offerred an altrnative which we declined as the first two courses were so unacceptable we could not believe that any other would be any better. The people at the next table had also not eaten their meal as they found it unsatisfactory too.
The hotel was beautiful, the pool was a refreshing surprise, the restaurant had a vegetarian menu, and the location was perfect -- right next to the cathedral. Management rules for use of the pool were ridiculous: 20 Euros deposit for each towel??? Mandatory bathing cap for ladies, which had to be purchased at the front desk??? This is the mark of a manager that has no experience at a luxury hotel.
Really nice and friendly staff and the room was gorgeous, only stayed for one night but wished it could be longer!
Gorgeous, atmospheric design, excellent location on the main Plaza at medieval Ainsa.Only a short drive to one of the National parks. The son of the owner showed us the celler and explained the renovation. Nice breakfast.Quiet and romantic rooms.Probably great for honeymooners. Athough the service was fine, and the hotel is beautifully renovated, the hotel seems overpriced: Ainsa in September is a ghost town. There is little reason to stay there for more than one night.Only one of the two good restaurants was open for dinner. Boring.
Good service, nice rooms.
The bedroom and bathroom were very stylishly decorated. Very comfortable. Wireless Internet access would have been good, instead of by a cable. Also ideally a english news channel - World service??. Otherwise excellent
The beautifully appointed room, with lovely views, a balcony, comfortable bed and sofa, nice bathroom, air-conditioning, good-quality cotton sheets and towels, the mini-fridge, double-glazing to keep out any noise, and the delicious, ample breakfasts. No
This hotel experience was simply great! The innkeepers, Sylvia and her partner were very helpful and always going out of their way to help Americans who spoke very little Spanish. We would certainly return again and would recommend this hotel to friends. We stayed two extra nights we liked the hotel so well! None.
A really nice small hotel. Exceptionally well restored old building in a medieval town. Great position right on the (quiet) town square.
Everything! The areas was a lovely interlude after more hectic parts of Spain. I was extremely comfortable, there was nothing better than lying on the huge comfortable bed looked out through the balcony to the beautiful vista. The location allows access to the Pyrennes and great countrside. Restaurants in the area provide pleasant reasonably priced meals. The language barrier did not stop the proprietors from providing great service. I think reviews on this hotel have not reflected its serenity, beauty, and that it is a magnificent stay when travelling through northern Spain.
What a beautiful location in Ainsa! And what a beautiful little hotel! We had a lovely time there!
The cleanliness and the friendly staff
Hotel Turmo is set in a quiet countryside location with fabulous mountain views. The rooms are spacious, well-equipped and spotlessly clean. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the food is good country cooking and plenty of it. No
The hotel has a cafe/bar that is open to non-residents. It appears to be a popular place for the locals but wasn't too noisy. First impression when arriving was that this is an average hotel but the room exceeded this and is one of the better ones I've stayed in. An the bed was enormous and easily big enough for three - its a pity I was alone. At first, there was a little difficulty finding someone who spoke English but I partly blame myself - I should have learnt more than just 'Hola'. As a result nobody explained when and where breakfast would be served.
Excellent value for money, the meals were huge and the hotel and bar very comfortable. Private garage supplied for the motorbikes at no extra charge. Not much English spoken, but the staff tried very hard. Very difficult to find fault with this budget hotel.
More than lived up to it's review rating - modern & spotless, big comfortable bed, excellent menu - in quality, variety in courses and price, with amiable staff. Safe parking. Hearty breakfast - sets you up for the day. Excellent location to tour the region. Less cigarette smoke in the bar would be good - but also used by locals.
good value. warm welcome .good food. comfortable room
The room was basic but equipped with all we needed. very clean. excellent value for money. Close to Ainsa, to the ordesa national park (about an hour to Torla). The room was a bit cold but the staff immediatly brought a radiator to our room.
Comfortable room, with nice balcony overlooking the hills off the Pyrenees. Very peaceful. Great initiative to make the room soundproof from hallway noise: there is an extra door before entering the actual bedroom. We were by motorbike and the hotel made at our disposal a spot for free in a safe big underground garage. Cleaning staff has tried to enter the room a couple of times before check out time.
By far the cleanest hotel on our trip & location convenient if traveling with a car.
Second visit confirms 'Excellence' and 'Conviviality' are the keywords here for cleanliness; bed size and comfort; meals quality, variety & value and staff delivery. Ample free parking. Will return! Nada, solo demasiado lejos de Almeria.
The views, the location, the peace and quiet, and the possibility for our young children (3 and 5) to run around noisily without anybody objecting. The "double" bed was not in fact a double bed - it was two single beds on castors, which slid apart easily when one moved on the bed. This was a bit inconvenient...
The scenery and ambience of the hotel was just what I was looking for...peaceful and relaxed with exceptional service and attention to our every request. We had two delicious meals prepared at the Hotel and we enjoyed the use of local ingredients and wine and olive oil from the valley. The owners, Ava and Ana could not have been more helpful and we did not want to leave. Ever. We will be back.
The hotel was lovely, very welcoming staff and in a fantastic location. The room was quiet and the dinner was great home cooked food. The swimming pool was very dirty, I think because they had recently had a lot of rain, but this was shame as we were really looking forward to a dip.
The staff and service were excellent. From breakfast to helping us plan trips on the Somontano wine route, all our needs were taken care of. Hosteria de Guara was a wonderful place to just kick back and relax.
We enjoyed the warmth of the hospitality and the condition of the hotel which was excellent
Room first class, service first class, restaurant first class, all staff happy to help, a truely excellent hotel Rooms a bit noisy, not much insulation between rooms.
Very helpful staff, Eva particularly so. Excellent food. Good value for money. Good base for exploring the gorges to the north with excellent opportunities for walking, climbing and bird watching. We would have preferred the opportunity to eat earlier in the evening, (eg 8pm) and be able to make a cup of tea in our room.
A wonderful setting and characterful and comfortable accommodation. Friendly staff, good food and a great place to relax and enjoy the gorgeous surroundings. No
The food was very good. the room was comfortable. The surrounding countryside was very beautiful, lovely views.
A good welcome at a well run happy & comfortable hotel. In an excellent location to explore the beautiful mountain region. Restaurant good value but one dines better north of the pyrenees.
Excellent value, clean bright and well sized air conditioned rooms, mountain view is worth paying for to watch the sunset over the church in Bierge from your balcony which can be spectacular. Dinner excellent value with lots of local produce. Breakfast huge and varied. Very quiet location with easy access to many great walks and climbs. We didn't do canyoning, but the via ferrata and river walks in Alquezar/Rodellar are excellent.
Warmfull welcome , nice owner very good breakfast with good local products No air conditionned
Amazing setting and view. Excellent facilities and staff
The beautiful views, the countryside and the complete rural silence at night. This is a simple hotel with charming, friendly owners and staff and a national park close by.
Awesome setting, nice people, terrific food
good location for canyoning
Hotel Era Conte is so much about the welcome and quality of service from the owner/manager, Marisol, as it is about the beautiful surrounds of the Sierra de Guarra national park. The three of us were on a 40-old lads tour of Europe and this leg helped me get in some canyoning for the lads but all three of us were stunned by the attention to detail, location and quality of food on offer. I might even take my wife next time!! There is no pool for children but frankly if you are canyoning you will not need it.
Excellent views and quietness. Very picturesque area and very remote We had major problens finding the hotel and it requires much improved signage outside and within the local village. It is only accessible by a very narrow and easily missed road.
In the centre of Ainsa. It provided a comfortable bed for the night. Breakfast was basic but adequate. Plenty of Restaurants nearby. The entrance to the supposedly secure Car Park managed to damage 2 out of 3 bikes in our party because of the severe camber on either side of the gate track. They were so badly damaged our friends couldn't continue their holiday. The Air Conditioning unit in my room leaked so badly it flooded the bedroom within one hour. Only one member of Staff really tried to help and liaise with us. The Bar / Cafe within the hotel (open to the public) was very rough & ready.
Good for older part of Isaba. Map of where this was hopelessly out as to where the hotel actually is
Nice room with good view of river No restaurant, bar is smokey
The accommodation was above average, loved the duplex layout.
Friendly staff very relaxed atmosphere the hotel is very much part of the community ,large public bar/cafeteria and while the description says it has no parking there is parking
Nothing partcicularly. The open smoking policy. The entire hotel reeked of cigarette smoke. In addition, to have a breakfast included in the hotel price that was held in an open smoking public bar was unacceptable in the extreme. Spain needs to get themselves out of the middle ages in smoking policy.
we found it had very helpful staff, the room was very clean, warm and comfortable. secure car parking. ideal stop over for France/Spain.
Cleanliness, convenience, attitude and helpfulness of staf and price None
Clean and modern rooms
Good views None
Friendly staff. Having a fridge in the room weas a definite plus. Well positioned for visiting the Ordesa National Park. Nasty smell of drains in the bathroom only stopped by keeping the plug in the bidet.
The room was relatively large and it had a comfortable couch and other useful accessories. The breakfast wasn't worth to its price.
Convenient location with secure parking. Welcoming, basic but comfortable and clean with good breakfast. Price very fair.
Centrally located. Good staff, plenty of good parking secure parking Would be better if breakfast was included in the room rate
Clean comfortable rooms, very helpful and courteous staff. Very good breakfast spread for an extra charge (worth it I think). Location is good - just over the bridge from town (5 min walk), and 20 min walk or so from the upper Old Town. Ainsa is a great base for hikes in the nearby National Park (though be prepared for very narrow and winding mountain roads to get to the trailheads).
The location of the hotel was excellent for hiking tours around the Aragon region. The personnel of the hotel was very friendly and helpful. Not very much to mention bad points, but the breakfast and especially dinners were slight disappointments - there were better places in Ainsa to eat in the evenings.
Easy parking and good location. Restaurant reasonable and food good. restaurant didn't open until 9pm and then bar was shut when we had finished.
The location was excellent, easy to find and the welcome very good after a long journey. As a 2 Star hotle I found the facilities excellent and would stay again. I can think of none on our stay
Good location with walk up to the walled part of the town. Reasonable price
Very friendly staff. Stunning view of the castle. Good value for money.
I liked the city and its site. Having such an hotel in this location with a so wonderfull sight from the room is an opportunity to take, moreover with an excellent ratio quality/cost including the breakfast. Just a problem of douch fixation, we were obliged to keep it by hand, but it is without any importance.
Fantastic location in the medieval city with a view to the old fortress surrounded by mountains and wild river. Nice and clean small family hotel with friendly atmosphere, especially after season. Lots of opportunities to walk, explore nature and do rafting and other adrenaline activites. The lady at the reception adviced us a fantastic restaurant, few minutes walk from the hotel. It was a real gourmand experience. Great local wines everywhere around as well as olive oil.
The staff were friendly. Breakfast just right. Water drinkable.
the location is delightful and the hotel is friendly and welcoming. The buffet breakfast is fine. the walls are thin and so you can hear other guests
Everything was comfortable enough. It was fantastic view from our room to see the old Colegiata lightend up at night and sunrise. Breakfast was good as well. nothing
Nice and comfortable hotel with beautiful view on moutntains and the castle, suitable location for paradise holidays, friendly personal
The hotel is situated in a nice village, surrounded by nature This hotel is next to the busy street, with lot of noice, especially during weekends. Als the price is too high for this standard hotel. The breakfast is quite simple, and the hotel has no private parking. During weekends it is very difficult to find parking place.
