Staff were very helpful. The restaurant was frequented by annoying insects (e.g. flies). The staff explained that this happens in spring time.
The friendlyness of staff and the surroundings. Clearly this hotel does not meet the standards of SLH: it is neither small nor luxury. The furniture and decoration in the room and in the restaurant/lobby is old fashioned and used. The swimming pool has not been redone for ages. This hotel urgently needs to be refurbished and modernised. Overpriced!
The Alpenhof hotel is a great hotel set in lovely countryside and close to most of the main attractions in southwest Baveria. The hotel staff were very helpful and wellcoming, we were offered a glass of champagne on arrival which was very welcome. The hotel has two good restaurants , 1 mitchellin rated but the local town of Murnau offers several other restaurants. There was a small minibar of beer and soft drinks included in the room price. The spar facilities are excellent, indeed the best I have seen in a hotel. So if you are looking for a relaxing break with a touch of luxury this is a hotel worth considering. The beds are very firm and not the type of luxury beds you would expect from a 5star hotel
Dear Madams and sirs, I would like to thank you for your kindness and understanding. Indeed my stay at your hotel has been beyond delightful and very relaxing which helped me a lot facing the situation that is now occurring. You have made my stay here in Murnau very pleasant and much easier. Furthermore i spent a wonderful new year thanks to your manager and his team. Last but not least, i would like to stress on the fact that your hotel is very comforting and well organized. It has top quality service and it has been a very welcoming place. I look forward to my next stay in your hotel. Yours sincerely, Mr. Salem Al Zaabi
The spa facilities are excellent
Real luxury hotel with good restaurant and very friendly staff, nice view of the mountains. Good swimming pool and spa.
Very friendly and helpful staff
Excellent reception staff especially Jacob who was so welcoming and couldnt do more than he did also very pleasant. The breakfast was fantastic also the free mini bar was good not a great selection but enough. no swimming pool
All Staffs are friendly and kindly. We enjoyed wellness (Sauna and Bath). Breakfast was good. Almost all parking space was occupied during our staying (Christmas season). It was very difficurt to find parking space around the hotel.Hotel is not so new, so clear noises were comming into our room from neighborhood rooms in the nights.
The staff were all very polite and very helpful.
It's old fasility. The family room is post like a room for two and we pay extra to book a singal room.
Room was quiet and clean. Good breakfast, fair rates.
Everything was really excellent! Starting by the reception, the breakfest...very clean, confortable rooms.
The family who run it our lovely and speak English very well. I felt it could do with some modernising/updating.
Location, room for our dog, small - yet large - city likeness. No - though the heavy rain did paking the car next morning a littel tricky
The staff were very friendly. Due to traffic in route we arrived way past check in and were received warmyl after waking up the owner to let us in. We were greeted every morning and received great assistance during our stay. We even extended our stay for an additional night. The beds were nice but I prefer one bed/matress.
The hotel staff was incredibly helpful. They went beyond what is expected and had a constant willingness to offer comfort. It is by far one of the best experiences Ive had so far in terms of hotels in Europe, and has an excellent value for money. Absolutely recommended! Nothing that would stand out as a negative aspect for this hotel
People were friendly and accomodating. Free wireless internet.
The view was awesome, the morning breakfast was special due to our morning ritual of having our very own table, #42, the place settings were neat, reminded my wife of her time with her grandparents... The bed was kinda different, had a slit in the middle, kinda made it hard for my wife and I to, ya know, enjoy cuddling but we thoroughly enjoyed our time. The bathroom was tiny but again, we made it work...
The setting was gorgeous - the views over the lake were beautiful. There was also a really nice sauna and steam room. The staff were friendly - particularly our cleaning lady and the head waiter/ receptionist. The food was good too. The decor was quite 1970s but that was part of the character of the hotel. It was very clean and comfortable.
It was like an old family house, unlike many modern hotels. Nice views, nice feel, nice staff. Food was good too. Would like to stay again. Nichts.
We enjoyed the views, the welness center, the restaurant and a nice walk around Kochel
The situation overlooking the lake is excellent. This applied to both the restaurant and our room. Ideal spot for an overnight stay whilst we were en route to Oberammergau just 30 minutes drive away.
The view was beautiful & it was a very relaxing, peaceful place to stay.
It's so far from a city noise There are no service in the Kochel
Wonderful position by the lake, superb views No lifts, no bar for pre or post dinner drinks, rooms extremely cramped, too far out of town to walk to any other hotel or bar
This is a genuine Bavarian family-owned hotel and it has bags of character as well as comfort (and an excellent restaurant). English is spoken though a bit of German helps.
Wonderful stay at Seehotel. The staff were wonderful and we found the rooms very large and comfortable. We booked a room with a balcony and although the balcony was tiny it was well worth it for the beautiful view over the lake. The restaurant was great with beautiful views over the lake. No complaints at all with this hotel. Again, the staff were such a pleasure and we would absolutely stay here again.
All the workers of the Hotel have cordially devoted themselves to us. We could have a pleasant stay. Many thanks.
very warm profesional staff ,a lot of good will and asistence for every need.excelent breakfast , very good spa facilities.very recomended hote!l
location, quiet, and kind staff no
Breakfast was very good. Good service and a lot of choice.
Rooms were clean and nicely furnished, with a very reasonably priced minibar. View of the mountains was great, and hotel was located close to what appeared to be the more active part of town.
Hotel staff was extremely helpful and friendly, spoke very good English. Room was clean and neat. Cozy lounge air with bar service. No air conditioning so stick to the cooler months for visit. Overall great experience, would definitly stay again. Would like in room air conditioning, there is a near by clock tower that rings a be every 30min, not conducive to sleeping with the windows open.
Delightful mid size hotel in a delightful valley town in the Alps. Great place for hiking, skiing nearby, chair lifts operate in off season for great views. excellent breakfast included and excellent food in the hotel restaurant and many other places in town. We found all the local people we came into contact with to be helpful and friendly. One day too short. More information on the train to the hotel from Munich airport or city would have been helpful for planning. Once at the airport it was no problem but we had booked (and cancelled) a car just in case.
Great location, good breakfast, pool was nice The room decor could use some updating, still perfectly functional and nice, just older.
Great front desk staff who are very friendly to international visitors. Very nice rooms. Awesome Bavarian decor.
it was central the balcony was very poor, considering that the other rooms had much, much nicer ones.
the room was hot, the staff were "doing there job", nothing special.
The food in the restaurant was very good Room was close to the road, and there was traffic noise during the night. There were many flies in the breakfast room which we did not like whilst we were having our breakfast (hotel is located near a lake)
very economical, good breakfast, authentic experience, good location rooms not very soundproof
Friendly and helpful staff
Close to motorway for 1 night stop
Location No It was a little rustic but that was what we wanted.
Location was great. Beautiful little town. Hotel was comfortable but not lavish. Breakfast was pretty good. Germans know how to make bread. Man can certainly live on bread alone as long as its in Germany (the breakfast had more than bread, but the bread was the highlight). There was some confusion about payment. My experience was that priceline bills directly. Hotel said that was not the case and they didn't take american express. Everything got resolved
Too many flies in the breakfast room, which were very annoying!! Still, it seems that the Germans do not consider this to be a problem... And I did not like the matresses, they were too soft, harder matresses are better. Except for these issues, everything was ok, we had a pleasant stay.
I was with my parents and we had a lovely stay in the hotel. The receptionist was especially nice and went out of her way to explain locations on the map. I would definitely go back
Location, location, location...right in the heart of the city. The service and the food were wonderful and additionally the location offers you a choice of very nice outdoor restaurants, close access to the Isar River, walking, shopping and free parking within 100 meters. Recommend highly.
big clean room, location in the pedestrian way of the city center the wireless access to www, although promised, never worked because of poor signal
We liked the location. The staff was very friendly and ready to help whenever possible. We would stay there again!
Staff and Breakfast was excellent. They negotiated our contract for 5 persons stating the contract was incorrect (using the cost for the previously booked 3 persons)
Very friendly & helpful, well appointed hotel None
Everything A great find Staff Wwonderful warm welcoming and so helpful Location fantastic Facilities great Breakfast more than adequate We really have no complaints
Hotel staff is the most friendliest, and the hotel is clean and cosy. Rooms are all a little bit different, its a lot like home. You can feel that its run by a family.
Hotel was nice but we requested a triple with an extra bed for a second child. We showed up with our triple turned out to be a double with a pull out chair and no room or bed for the second child. We had confirmed earlier with the hotel about the 2nd child but obviously there was a misunderstanding. The hotel tried to make it right but it would have meant having one child sleep alone in a room 2 floors below. Not acceptable for us. Fortunately the staff agreed to let us out of our agreement and we moved to another hotel. Overall nice hotel and nice people just make sure for the sake of the hotel and yourself that your needs are understood!
When we arrived, the man who cannot speak Englich said no,no,not here, and another man brought us to another hotel. It was over booked !! After having negociated with H.Bichlerhof, finally anothe hotel accepted us with the same condition. We were very afraid !
the balcony was nice, the hotel was quite central The "fitness equipment" was an exercise bike in the hall that didn't work!
Great staff, peaceful and quiet hotel in small, laid-back Wallgau, 20-30 mins from ski resorts, rivers, lakes, hiking etc. Nothing
Friendly staff; excellent spa facilities; great food; good location for walking and bike riding; small village atmosphere.
Great ambience, super food, friendly staff. None
Great location and good value. Very noisy - kitchen, patrons, and local street noise. Not good for young children,
Helpful staff. Good breakfast in the morning. Beautiful surroundings. Easy walk to train station. Lovely town and hotel. Some features of hotel could be updated. For example, carpets.
Central location, parking availability and dining area Not overly welcoming to a foreign traveller unfamiliar with the area, hard to find the hotel in town and the parking area
Excellent staff and restaurant. I would ask the hotel to review the procedures for using the Value Added Tax (VAT) form with the tax authorities, which allows U.S. Armed Forces to not be charged the VAT and the hotel to not have to pay the VAT to the tax authorities. A wireless internet connection should be installed in the hotel.
Very old and historical, charming. Good food. Very reasonable. Extremely difficult to reach as it is located on pedestrian marketplace and cannot drive to. gps did n't help, nor recognize that. We are not young travelers and have some difficulty walking, so actually driving close to the hotel was problematic. they should state precise driving directions (to the parking garage, because you cannot get to the hotel)on the site.
We liked some of the staff, receptionist"Franciska" was very friendly and helpful. The food was nice, breakfast and dinner. Live music on the Sunday night was really good. The outside noise was bad. The room did not have a bath and the bed was rockhard.
veranika was the greatest
The staff was very helpful. They helped us find an adapter for the outlet and with our luggage. They reocmmemded a concert too. We loved the menu and the musician. They could update their beds.
The hospitality was good. The empty gesture of a plastic rose on the bed, plus a note not to take it away, not a good message. The hotel is fine without a cheap plastic rose. Also, if they got one of those blue electric lights they might improve the problem of flies in the breakfast room. Unlike the other hotels we booked the tax appeared in addition to the stated fee, it should be stated on the website. The beds in our room sloped down towards the wall, prop them up, it's easy. The double doors on the rooms are not great.
The swimming-pool and sauna facilities were fantastic and brought a great relaxing touch to the hotel.
Friendly staff, nice view from our balcony.
It was centrally located, great breakfast, friendly atmosphere.
The hotel staff was very kind to us. The breakfast was excellent. I also liked the typical-German style design of the hotel. It met my expectations. It is also very close to Kochel rail station.
An excellent hotel run by a very attentive family.
Up to date, tastefully furnished room and bath. Right on the lively main street, but quiet. Nice selection of restaurant/courtyard beer garden. Helpful, friendly staff. If you are looking for green landscapes, scenery and relaxation, this hotel is not for you
Visited the Castle Museum to see the collection of paintings by Gabrielle Munter, and walk around the town and to the Staffelsee. I thought I was locked out when returning around 10.30pm, until I was shown by someone in the brauhaus of the other staircase to gain entry!
It was very familiar, and quiet. No
Very quiet,friendly and familiar.
A place to stay for retired people. Nothing interesting around.
the decoration of the rooms; also the beautiful breakfast room (all in wood with typical decorations from Bayern) the location was a bit far from the destination. However, it would be perfect for guests going to the wellness park Alpamare
very comfortable bed
Took my parents into Bad Tolze and have a fabulous time. The Hotel was beautiful, the rooms fantastic, modern, bright and comfortable. There was a very informative leaflet in the room regarding tips and trips in the area. I will go back and use this hotel again
Very nice and cozy hotel, friendly and lovely hosts. Everything is provided so that clients feel at home. And all this for quite a reasonable price.
Location, friendly family-like atmosphere.
Friendly, family run hotel. Excellent breakfast buffet in the morning. Beautiful scenery all around
