When you stay at The Cove Eleuthera in Gregory Town, you'll be on the beach and 6 minutes by car from Gaulding Cay Beach. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and an elevator (lift).
Pros: The Staff was friendly and de location amazing! We felt very relaxed and free. We took the bicycles every morning to go and see the sun rise. We swam in the pool at 6 in the morning another day and used all the facilities: kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling, billiard and the library. We were very well looked after by each and every staff. We are both vegans and it wasn't an issue at all. There were several things on the menu but we could still ask for special wishes if we wanted. We would definitely love to go again!
Pros: Perfect size resort with everything that you need to truly relax.
Pros: The resort was so incredibly beautiful, the food was excellent and our room was out of this world. whilst this is place is very quiet, it was exactly what we were looking for. thoroughly recommend. The beach area was better than any other Caribbean resort we have been to, and the sun downers at the bar on the cliff were romantic and breath taking. Don’t expect a huge party, but do expect a relaxed vibe with great people and an opportunity to really switch off.
Pros: Beautiful, well designed resort. Beautiful sunsets. Beaches are beautiful coves and were not crowded at all. We could easily get beach chairs, use paddle boards, and kayak easily. They have simple one gear bikes to get around on the island. They also has car rental services, but we did not use those. Front desk staff was friendly and seemed knowledgable.
Cons: Drinks took forever. We eventually opted to go to the bar ourselves instead of request service poolside or beachside. This didn't ruin our stay, but was annoying since we were paying for drinks.
Pros: location was wonderful and staff was great and extra friendly and helpful. Differently will go back next year.
Cons: Cost of food and drinks a little high but was expected.
Pros: Incredibly beautiful. Lots of lounge chairs. Attentive staff. Wonderful food.
Pros: The beaches are lovely and the staff is really friendly and tries to be helpful.
Cons: The rooms are small and lack privacy unless you opt for a suite. They could do more to make it private with wooden blinds in all of the rooms and more greenery so you can be in your room with natural light or out on deck with some privacy.
Pros: Tasty breakfast, many options. All meals were well cooked and tasty. The reception and restaurant staff is very polite and attentive. We appreciate all tips and suggestions given to us by the staff and concierge regarding activities and tours. The pool and and beach facilities are great. We loved paddle boarding. Only 15 min from North Eleuthera airport .
Cons: We had booked the Bungalow Studio. The room was very small and the bathroom was even smaller. There are insufficient photos on the booking.com website and we were very disappointed to see the actual room when we reached there after 30 hours of travel. Major problem with the misquitos despite that they spray the grounds, epsecially since our room was located inside a type of forest. Even worse problem was the sand fleas. I ended up with over 40 bites after my first 3 hours at the hotel beach in a single day. They hurt and there is little medication to be found at the island. I would not recommend using the laundry. House keeping was inconsistent, used glasses were not regularly removed or replaced in the room , same goes for water. On some days when used towels were collected, new ones were not provided. The bed was not always made either. Food and drinks prices are expensive, however we did expect that.
Pros: The food in the restaurant was VERY good! We could come in for dinner at any time, without reservations, and be immediately seated; that was greatly appreciated. The employees were all incredibly friendly and helpful.
Cons: The food in the restaurant is EXPENSIVE. Be prepared for that. Sand flies! :( Be prepared for that. Once we started wearing bug spray on our legs all the time, we were fine. But the first day/night they ate us alive!
Pros: The man made beaches were lovely. Food was amazing
Cons: The room was tired and needed updating. The bathroom sinks are tiny No place to put clothes so we lived out of our suitcases
Located in Governor's Harbour, Villa Allamanda is by the ocean, within a 10-minute drive of Haynes Public Library and Leon Levy Native Plant Preserve. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Very beautifully kept gardens & rooms. Super friendly staff... lovely quiet location
Pros: The owner John is very hands on and couldn’t have been nicer.
Pros: near the ocean, Very Good view. clean and kind boss.
Pros: Kitchenette small but handy for breakfast!
Pros: Fantastic view and nice central location on the island
Cons: I think we didn’t get the best room, right at the entry of the hotel. We had a lot of noise from people sitting in front of our room talking. The other thing was the bed, too hard for us but that might be a personal thing
Pros: Beautiful, quiet and comfortable villa with a fantastic garden and very nice view! John is very welcoming and willing to satisfy our requests, he also gave us a lot of useful suggestions. I would recommend to stay there!
Cons: I use to sleep in the dark and the curtains do not obscure the room.
Pros: John the owner was great. He was very accommodating no matter what time of day it was or what it was that we needed. He even woke up early in the morning on a Sunday to take us a hour away to the airport. We will definitely be trying to come back every year.
Cons: I loved everything, the only thing that I would say that I didn’t like were the bed and pillows, they weren’t very comfortable. However, we didn’t spend much time in the room so it wasn’t a big deal.
Pros: It has a homey feel. Very cozy. Esthetics was perfect. Location to main town area was perfect.
Cons: There wasn't anything that I didn't like about the place.
Pros: We were picked up at the airport by John who was very friendly, had lots of recommendations for restaurants and beaches on the island which was very useful. We were given a free upgrade for our room as well in addition to being allowed late checkout free of charge so we felt like we got great value for money overall! The room itself was clean, had good amenities and felt very homely. The location was also great for visiting some of the best local beaches and restaurants. We'd definitely recommend visiting the Glass bridge while on the island, where the Caribbean and Atlantic seas meet. We also hired a car from the Villa and got a 4x4 which was in good conditions and we'd definitely recommend for the roads as there are lots of potholes and some of the beach access roads an off road vehicle is needed. Overall we loved our stay at Villa Allamanda and the island of Eleuthera.
Pros: John the Owner is a friendly, kind and considerate individual.
Cons: What’s not to like?
Located in Governor's Harbour, Pineapple Fields is by the ocean, within a 5-minute walk of OceanView Farm and Leon Levy Native Plant Preserve. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The rooms were cool, comfortable and airygrw
Pros: Comfortable and clean
Pros: Perfect location to relax and enjoy Eleuthera. Apartment was comfortable, pool was great, gardens lovely, beach across the road wonderful. Tippys for food and drink on the beach, plus other great eateries around Governots Harbour. Friendly and accommodating staff.
Pros: It was like having a home instead of just a room. Complete kitchen with everything you need - coffee maker, utensils etc.. Living room with a back deck, the bedroom is clean and bright, bed was comfy. Bathroom has a bathtub and a great retractable laundry drying line. Not to mention the washer and dryer which was super appreciated! The grounds are beautiful with a big, well designed pool area. Tippys restaurant is right across the road and right on the beach, which itself was never crowded and totally gorgeous. The turquoise blue of the water and the blush color of the sand never gets old. This is somewhere to unplug, for long walks on the beach, to read by the pool.. completely wonderful.
Cons: If you do not have a car, Tippys restaurant is the only restaurant within a couple miles of walking. It has good food, but food in general on the island is very pricey. We found ourselves wishing that the property had snacks available to buy. But if you know this in advance, you can plan and totally cook for yourself.
Pros: Well furnished kitchen. Nice view of the Atlantic from 2nd floor balcony. Very quiet and serene. Centrally located on the island. Tippy’s across the street had good food and entertainment on Friday night. They provided beach chairs which came in very handy for our daily beach excursions.
Pros: The unit was clean and comfortable.
Cons: A bottle of water in the fridge would have been nice.
Pros: Beautiful grounds , and walking distance to the beach
Pros: Beautiful small 2nd floor condo, very bright and great view from rear balcony. Walking distance to Tippy’s and the beach. Location is just about middle of the island and makes it easy to explore north and south.
Cons: Sheets never got changed.
Pros: Clean, beds are comfy and service by Kathy is superb. Awesome AC
Cons: Lack of Wi-Fi, Need to upgrade Tv's and put one in each bedroom and a huge tv in the living.
Pros: Kathy, property manager, very helpful, accommodating
Pros: We loved our stay at Hut Pointe Inn. The suites were very spacious. The funishings were tasteful and good quality. The air con was very powerful and effective. Everything was clean and well-kept. The gardens are beautiful. The location is just across the road from Sky Beach Club facilities and the beautiful beach. Also just 15 minutes to French Leave Beach and Governors Harbour supermarket and restaurants. A very central location from which to explore the island. Kathy was very friendly and helpful, as were the owner's tips on restaurants / beaches.
Pros: We loved the location because of the dynamics of our family....it was ideal!! Next year we plan to take our grands and they will have a huge area to play.....just awesome!! The master bed was so so comfortable, best sleep in years
Pros: It really is a beautiful place. The apartment was wonderful. I would definitely recommend it !
Cons: WiFi on Eleuthera tends to be not reliable. My kids couldn't use their tablets because there was no wifi. Really wish there was a small pool on the property. Kids beds were comfy. The master bed was ok.
Pros: Accommodation was clean and spacious; amenities generally satisfactory.
Cons: 1. As with most apartments close to the beach, the floor was not entirely clean of sand. 2. Toilet roll mounted low to the ground is problematic for persons with bad back problems 3. Considering the distance from the nearest eating place, it would have been nice to have even a sachet of coffee with the usual condiments available for in-and-out travelers such as my colleagues and me.
Pros: This beautiful, apartment-style hotel with manicured grounds was a great place for our group. It would also work well for families. Nearby Pascal's is a wonderful place to hang out, too.
Cons: The hot water was lukewarm at best and the wifi generally didn't work, but we were mostly at a beach or pool anyway.
Pros: WIFI was good. The grounds were well kept and nice to walk around on. Nice fruit trees.
Cons: The CRT television needs to be upgraded. Perhaps a small one in the main bedroom also (but not necessary). For weekend visitors, an extra garbage bag stored probably under the sink would be nice. Sometimes low water pressure, probably when other tenants were using.
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff, great building, nice grounds, great unit, very clean, great location. Easy access to Governors Harbor and airport. Free use of nearby pool, walk to water in both directions.
Cons: Needed a coffee grinder. WiFi was almost non-existent (but that’s ok on vacation!)
Pros: The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable
Cons: We didnt get enough towels
Located in North Palmetto Point, Unique Village Resort is a 1-minute drive from Poponi Beach and 7 minutes from OceanView Farm. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The resort was quaint and cozy!
Cons: The wing were over cooked and they were out of a lot of food choices
Pros: Room was clean and bed comfy. Easy access to the beach.
Cons: Food was too expensive and not prepared to expectation.
Pros: The place felt special with the beach and pool so close. I loved taking a swim in the pool after watching sunrise over the ocean!
Pros: Location location location
Cons: We tried to contact the owners About all the bites we had from our stay. We used citronella candles and still had hundreds of bites. Don’t know if it was sand fleas or no see ems or bed bugs. It was terrible to have so many bites. ??
Pros: Room size and clean
Cons: Restaurant menu and seating set up. Because I was a single traveler, they wanted me to sit at the bar.
Pros: Breakfast was good. Coffee excellent. View was incredible and cook and waitress were wonderful
Cons: Drinking water provided. Cannot drink water out of faucet.
Pros: Wifi, pool, private ocean, nice staff, simple restaurant
Cons: Hot tub would be a nice addition
Pros: There was an issue with water. No water when I wanted to take a shower.
Pros: Breakfast was good. Location centrally located on island.
Cons: Dinner prices were expensive. Not quite the selections I would eat.
Pros: The highlight of this property for us was the lovely beach within 100 feet of the room. We visited in mid-february and didn't encounter a single other person on the beach shared between a few resorts. We spent some peaceful mornings reading on the balcony that overlooked the pool and ocean. We didn't swim (the water was a bit cold for us but we knew it would be given the time of year), but the pool was clean and offered plenty of colorful seating. We ate several meals at the restaurant and found their prices to be very competitive to other restaurants around Eleuthera, with my bf ordering the Boiled and Stewed Fish versions of the breakfast dish - delicious.
Cons: The wifi was down it seemed the first few days and we had no service on the island. I actually loved the forced break from technology but it could have been problematic for people expecting to be able to work, or relying on internet to navigate the island or find things to do/eat/see.
Pros: Unique was a quiet lovely place. Although they were full, we rarely saw more than two or three other guests. The beach was empty and a lovely place to walk. The view from our room was spectacular. Unique is only about 10-15 minutes from Governors Harbor where there are both expensive tourist restaurants and restaurants frequented by residents. Don’t miss the Levy Nature Preserve! If you have a chance to meet Sharon, who owns Uniquewith her husband and is a retired nurse, she knows a great deal about island history and is very active in island civic life. Her husband, who also owns the local hardware store and is an accountant, designed and built Unique Village.
Cons: The sand fleas were ravenous and their bites very itchy, so get bug spray! Also, you need a car to get to any town, and car rental can be pricey. Be prepared for expensive food in the restaurant, but it is good and the service very friendly.
Located in Governor's Harbour, Sky Beach Club is by the ocean, a 3-minute drive from Hut Point Beach and 6 minutes from Haynes Public Library. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Restaurant and beach bar located right by our bungalows, open 1 to 7pm. Very quiet by the pool when they were closed, meant you got best of both worlds, activity and peacefulness. Cici the manager and Sammy the bartender were great.
Cons: Would have liked a regular height table on our patio which would have been great for a game of cards or having our dinner on. Patio was very large so there is lots of room for this.
Pros: Location, beach
Cons: Very unclean, bad service, there is no facility of breakfast, restaurant at the hotel is bad, hotel needs repair. As a result, this is not a 4 star hotel.
Pros: C.C. and Nick were excellent managers. They know the island and answered all of our questions. The beach is perfect if you like long walks with very few people (I do!). The restaurant had excellent food and drinks. We stayed in a bungalow with a beautiful view. The bungalow was quiet, spacious and spotless.
Pros: We have stayed here numerous times and LOVE the island and the staff is wonderful, they do the best they can with what they have to work with. It seems that the owners have not put any money back in to the place since it opened and it gets a little worse each time we go back. It is a beautiful property but the driveway and roads leading in and around the place are atrocious and progressively get worse. The house needs a lot off maintenance and some updating. This may have been our last trip to the Sky Beach Club until they do some upkeep and I believe that we were one of their most frequent customers. This really saddens me because we love Sammy,C.C. and Nick.
Cons: The place needs the owners to put some more money back in to the place
Pros: We've stayed here twice now because you can't beat the gorgeous cottage and amenities for the price. The location is great, the beach is one of the best on the island, the rooms are sparking clean and full of modern comforts. The pool and hot tub and swim up pool bar is amazing. While some other hotels on Eleuthera might be fancier, more high-end, Sky Beach offers the same if not better accommodations for half the price. We love it!
Cons: The only thing that bothers me about this property is that anyone from the outside can come and use the pool and hot tub for free. So you have people from other hotels using up the poolside furniture and hogging the hot tub. I highly recommend charging a resort fee for those not staying on the property to weed out some people and say least have anyone who's using the facility pay for it like I did. Same goes for the beach chairs and umbrella down by the beach.
Pros: We loved our time in Eleuthera. It was very quiet and quaint. Probably not for everyone, but if you are looking for a true getaway, it’s perfect.
Pros: The place is gorgeous. Right on a lovely beach and very close to French leave beach, twin coves and downtown governors harbor. The room is surprisingly big and has an ocean view. We stayed in bungalow 2 and were overjoyed with the view from the bed. The pool was very quiet and you had all you needed in the room - lotions and conditioner and a mini fridge etc. The restaurant was very good if a little expensive. But the property managers were really what made this place stand out. CC and Nick were the most hospitable hosts we have ever encountered in all our trips. Sky beach is central so you can go north or south and the Atlantic pink sand beach in front is beautiful! Can't wait to go back!
Cons: the pool is shared by the restaurant so it can get busy at times and some guests are noisy but that only happened a few times. Sometimes - in the morning especially or when the restaurant is closed you pretty much have it to yourself
Pros: I‘ve been very frustrated cause I came to Eleuthera only for diving!! But all tours were canceled by the bad weather! Btw, the bungalow was VERY fine, but the service restaurant was a Catastrophe! First day NO service the restaurant was closed!!!! No breakfast, no coffee! I meet just one couple and I felt completely alone in the CLUB! Last day before departure I got a lunch! The prices were too high, the light beer costs 6 USD!!! The salat more than 25 USD!!! Sorry, but I never come back!!!!
Pros: I had one of the bungalows - very clean - stylish furniture - veranda and terrace are ideal to relax at the evenings - nice pool for 24 hours plus outdoor whirlpool I will come again with friends and will rent one of the villas
Cons: Nothing - it‘s the best place to relax
Pros: CC, ocean view and room size
Cons: Roads are horrendous, restaurant only open for lunch and dinner, felt deserted
With a stay at Surfers Manor in Gregory Town, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Surfers Beach and Hatchet Bay Cave. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services and a safe deposit box at the front desk. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge during limited hours, and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: If you are looking for something basic, this is basic. The food and accommodation are quite basic. However, the friendliness of Floyd the proprietor is not basic. He is a delightful example of Bahamian charm. When the bridge was out, he worked with the taxi driver to make sure I could make it to the rest of my holiday in Harbour Island.
Cons: I thought it would be closer to the ocean. Also, the TV did not work and initially there was no shampoo in the shower. I asked for some and got something that looked like a guest had left behind. This was all more important as I was travelling alone.
Pros: Very clean and extremely friendly service.
Cons: I didn't like that it wasn't closer to the water.
Pros: The place is good for a stay in the island, but a car is more than necessary for eveything: to go to the town, to a restaurant or to enjoy the beaches. The Manager, Floyd, was very cool and helpful with booking the car, giving us advices, and even driving us to a beach. He does a great job! PD: we miss Pumpkin the cat!
Pros: Big room. The grounds of the manor were nice and well kept, just wish that the rooms were the same way. There was a friendly cat. Our flight landed late and the receptionist was kind enough to stay open 45min late (till 5:45) and check us in. He was also very welcoming.
Cons: We found a massive cockroach and lots of random bugs in our room. The water was yellow and stinky in the toilet, sink, and shower. Completely unusable. When we asked the receptionist he said that it was because of the red soil leak into the city water but when we went for food/ to stay somewhere else in the same town the water was clear like any other city. He was obviously not telling the truth. The room itself was stained, the floors stained and cracked in certain places. No shampoo or conditioner offered. We were the only ones there when the website said they were completely booked out and we were still charged $165usd for such poor quality. The restaurant was also not open for the season yet- a couple days before US Thanksgiving? Unprepared. If we hadn't asked the receptionist to stay open late to check us in we would have left right away for somewhere else. We barely had any wifi in the room, had to use my own data for basic google searches.
Pros: The service was awesome! Flo was very accomkdating...she went out of her way to always ensure that I was comfortable and got what I want ...
Cons: I wish I stayed longer...
Pros: Very friendly staff; good location; good food.

Pros: Gorgeous villas with bed, tv, couch, counter space, coffee, mini fridge (that is filled with some things for purchase but you can also add a few items), and a gorgeous spacious bathroom. We loved the porch on the back to sit and look at the water or sunset. The staff is very friendly, and we enjoyed using the iPad in the room to order chairs for the beach. The golf cart provided to go to the beach was awesome too. We felt safe, comfortable, and that we had plenty of privacy. The food at the restaurant was great too.
Cons: Check in was confusing as we arrived late and the reception house was closed. We had to walk around to figure out where to go. We requested help with dinner reservations and had some issues with communication back from the hotel. I HIGHLY recommend using Whatsapp and downloading prior to your trip so you can communicate with the staff. They use texting to communicate. Overall, the "issues" we had were due to not understanding island life... it's different! Next time, we'll be more equipped. Because we will be back!
Pros: The people were so incredibly kind
Pros: The ambiance, the design, the beach access
Cons: The restaurant prices was a bit expensive, and not much of a variety

Pros: Very nice location for Christmas. The people were very nice in this town!
Cons: No hot water some times
Pros: Everything is nice
Cons: The beach
Pros: Overall experience was excellent
Cons: Location was tricky to find.
Pros: It was a perfect little home of our own on the island. We were greeted by sweet staff, as everyone on the island by rule is so sweet. The staff helped us find a car rental last minute. We traveled a lot so did not get to taste the food or drinks on site, but it is a popular place to go to for that. Our place was spacious, with immediate necessary things available in the kitchen. Very clean. AC and fan working well. Free parking on site.
Cons: The water pressure was pretty low and took about 15 minutes for hot water to warm up in the bathroom. 2 light bulbs were out in the kitchen and was a bit dusk to cook in the evening.
Pros: Easy to find. Nice property, all amenities needed in the room.
Cons: No breakfast on the property on weekends. The whole island was kind of closed for breakfast on Sunday. The restaurant on the premises, didn't appear open.
Pros: This is a cozy compound of small cottages, each of them with its own garden, that are nicely designed to enjoy privacy; they are conveniently equipped with a kitchen, which provides for autonomy in an island like Eleuthera, where shops and restaurants are scarce or closed out of season. Friendly managers Zandria and Daniel will do their best to help and will kindly meet any requests so as to make your stay pleasant. Good value for money, considering Bahamas prices.
Cons: Everything was OK.
Pros: I loved that the location was right next to the harbor making the commute super easy. Also i liked the layout and design of the property.
Cons: The quality of the utilities and amenities was poor; ie there was promise of wifi, but the connection was so poor, we were unable to access it the whole trip and certain basic necessities were left out. Also after inspecting the room it apears that the room was not properly cleaned before turning it over to new guest; ie clothing still left in one of the drawers.
Pros: Really friendly and helpfull staff Great food in the resto Close to wonderful beaches
Cons: Everything was great!
Cons: No record of our reservation upon arrival. Had booked it 2 months ago and the property had confirmed it with booking.com Had emailed the day before requesting an airport pick up but no response. Had called the property upon arrival but no answer and no voice mail. Rooms were not ready. No twin room for our teenage sons so they had to “top and tail” which was not acceptable. Restaurant closed on Monday night and we were informed everything was closed in the area on a Monday. No breakfast served on a Tuesday morning. We had to ask our taxi to take us to a shop to buy food. No staff on site from Monday eve till 9am Tuesday morning. Dirty kitchen, very few utensils, one mug, no kettle. The “mini market” appeared to include a stand of greeting cards, some necklaces on the wall, some cans of nuts, a few other food items and a few toiletries. The “accessories” shop was closed and from the window appeared to have boxes of things on the floor and some clothes on a rack. Were told upon departure that their credit card machine was not working. Nearest cash machine was about 18 miles away.
