My wife and I brought our 7 and 10 year old girls here for a new Thanksgiving Tradition. We had a great time, great manager here....Carly really took care of us. Great shops and restaurants. We had such a good time, we we stayed an extra night! 4 nights total! I cant believe some of the one star ratings here....obviously, you cannot please everyone!!
We had booked what the hotel called a cottage. It was horrible. First impression wasn't that bad but then we started looking around. It wasn't really a cottage. It was a separate building but it was a row of rooms not a separate cottage. There were no curtains on the windows just mini blinds on the main ones and they did not fit inside the windows. So there was no privacy except in the bathroom. And we couldn't sleep with all the light in the room. The king size bed had a full size comforter on it and the bed was so hard that you could not sleep on it.
We arrived at 2:00 PM and wanted to see if we could check in. They refused to check us in even though all the rooms were ready and there was not any maids still working. When we checked in the floors in the room had debris all over them like the floor had not been cleaned in months. Dust all over the furniture. We would NEVER stay there again.
We thought the staff and service was fine but the room was very minimal and not in great shape. The price wasn't outrageous so it didn't feel like we like we didn't get a good deal. It's comfortable for what it was just don't expect anything fancy.
Great boutique hotel in good location. My room was quiet, faced away from street. Very small room but clean and had everything I needed. Nice linens, roomy bath. Mostly European clientele. Good value for the money. Nice staff. Would definitely stay again if rate stays reasonable
I stayed three days in February with my girl friend in a queen cottage. We didnt check in until 10pm, the owner was great and waited up for us to arrive. The room was very clean and had a nice size bed, full kitchen and a full bathroom. The hotel had plenty of parking and was very safe. The hotel is in the center of town and all the places to eat are within walking distance. The hotel was a great deal and I will stay again.
I stayed in one of the cottages attached to the main hotel during President's Day weekend 2010 and had a wonderful time. The accommodations were lovely, clean, and roomy...had everything I needed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They also gave me a tour of the main hotel, showing me the various styles of rooms and the deck that looks out onto Main Street, which was very nice. This hotel is full of charm and class. Looks like I'll be heading out there next month once again and will book with them again.
Mold,no hot water and the tiny sweet roll, weak coffee and bitter juice can not be called breakfast.. Will never go back again. Parking is a nightmare, dont park on the side or back if you value the car. Mold smell described the room best.
The room was ok. Nothing special but it was clean. No pad on the mattress. The advertised Continental breakfast consisted on cereal, milk, weak coffee and some tiny sweet rolls pre-packaged. Everyone staying there went across the street to the ice cream place with great coffee and actual food.
This is a very nice little hotel. It is an old hotel with very original appointments, updated with some modern conveniences. It turned out much better than my first impression. The balcony overlooking the street was marvelous, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was an afterthought, and it showed in its construction and size. Nonetheless, the room was very attractive if you like old-fashioned and antiques. Jamestown is gold country after all. My wife was quite smitten with the old-world charm. That alone means something to me. It was a very fun and unique experience. I would recommend it to a romantic couple that doesn't have visions of Las Vegas glitz. And the manager was charming. What a nut.
Because I only needed a place to lay my head at night I looked for the least expensive room I could find close to Kistler Ranch. The Royal Carrige Inn is on Main Street in the center of Jamestown. You can walk to everything in Jamestowen and you are only 3 miles to Sonora.\n\nIt is truly an old, old bulding and has old, old cottages. I arrived late at night and my key was taped to the office door with a note on where to go and where to park. The staff, called to check on my arrival and make sure I was ok with the upgrade they gave me. I had booked a room and she gave me a cottage. \n\nEverything is neat and tidy, quaint and cheerful but tattered and worn. It looks romantic in the evening and shabby in the daylight. My cottage was 3 rooms, a big living room, a big bedroom and a full bath, was equipped with a microwave and refrigerator. They aren't big on dusting but the towels are nice and the bed appeared to be changed twice a week with daily cleaning.\n\nThe Inn is right on Main Street in the center of all the antiques shops, 2 doors from a convenience store and many restaurants and a couple of gas stations. If you have an extended cab pickup or a suburban you will have to park on the street, the parking lot does not accomodate large vehicles. For the money, you can't beat it.\n\nSome cottages connect so you can have larger groups, there are patios and gardens in front of some that would be very nice for children.
Name didn't match address; and not ''Best Value'' It is the Carriage Inn
