Located in Calheta, Hotel Jardim Atlantico is within a 15-minute drive of Eglise de Faja da Ovelha and Paul do Mar Beach. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Location is excellent, view, all staff was very kind and helpfull. Sauna was an excellent option specially when was cold. Breakfasts and Dinners were grate! Food was very fresh and tasty.
Cons: There was no internet connection inside the rooms. The mattress was too soft. There were no double bed just twin putting together which is not the same)
Pros: We were very impressed with the quality of catering ( breakfast and dinner) and how friendly and helpful the staff was. The room was not too modern but was spacious and clean with two balconies and amazing view out to the sea. The area was also not busy so there was plenty of privacy. The hotel is also close to the amazing trails that are far from other busier routes. The hotel also provides car hire services at a good price, which was essential as the local bus transport takes too long to travel everywhere that we wanted to go.
Cons: We think that the hotel transfer bus from the airport was rather expensive at €28 per person. The food bar area in the restaurant was too small, which resulted in almost constant queueing which was frustrating at times and during later hours the tables did not have cutlery and had to be asked for.
Pros: I think this hotel represents a really good value for money especially if you go for a half board as we did. A plenty of options on my opinion both for breakfast and for dinner, a lot of facilities like a game room, a swimming pool or a sauna (we didn't use any), very good views from the room. Room looked quite old but very clean and hotel's stuff is trying really hard to keep it clean and help their guests. We did hiking every single day and this hotel provided everything we need.
Cons: - There is a super limited parking space for the guests. I was afraid to park my car in an official parking space outside of the hotel, because parking space was very tight and it was usually full after 18.00 anyway (our usual arrival time) and there are very few places on the territory. As a result there were 10-15 cars parking along the road to the hotel every day. I didn't mind parking like this, but I felt that hotel neighbors weren't really happy seeing this line of cars every day. Maybe the hotel can come to some agreement with them or get another parking lot to keep everybody happy.
Pros: very nice place, location is good! the garden is big and maintained.
Cons: the parking is far away
Pros: The location - amazing views, good base to explore the westernmost part of the island. Tranquility and serenity. Good service and staff attitude.
Cons: The hotel is slightly overpriced for its true quality. The food at the restaurant is the hotel's Achilles heel: no a la carte option in a 4-star hotel... The only option is the buffet, which is overpriced for its rather mediocre quality. Hope the hotel administration takes this in consideration, since many guests share the same impression regarding the restaurant.
Pros: It was a big studio for the price with a view to the sea with an amazing sunset.
Cons: Even with half board you need to pay for the dinner drinks. In the rooms there is no internet and no mobile coverage, internet is only available on the lobby and in a stay/guest room and other areas. Mobile network (4g) works outside in the street.
Pros: It's a very comfortable house in a quiet place on a hillside, not far from levada. Clean room and kitchen wiht necessary equipment. Close to village centre with shops and restaurant. It is the best variant for people who want to have a rest and be closer to nature!
Cons: Little bathroom for two persons. There was sometimes cold in rainy weather.
When you stay at Hotel Jardim do Mar in Calheta, you'll be near the beach and within a 5-minute drive of Paul do Mar Beach. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, multilingual staff, and a library. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Location was fantastic , dinners - both the kitchen and a great terrace.
Cons: The reception staff may require some training in English. Two single beds put together do not always serve as a double bed. Some smell in the bathroom at times.
Pros: nice view from the balcony, comfortable bed, a lot of options for breakfast, free parking a minute away
Pros: Confortable Sheats, two balconies and fresh air with sound of the waves.
Pros: Nice location, right in the centre of Jardim do Mar. Lovely to listen to the waves of the ocean before falling asleep!
Pros: The best crossiants in the world! Pool and awesome view of the ocean.
Pros: The view and location wete great. Its a picturesque little village
Cons: The food at the restaurant was terrible and not worth the monet. Even though we arrived late and our options were limited, I would rather skip dinner. Though the terrace is great for drinks. Stick with a beer or glass of wine
Pros: The owner and her staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. They initially allocated rooms in an annexe because they thought they would be quieter than the main hotel. When we said we would actually prefer to be in the main hotel building they quickly changed our rooms and helped us move our luggage. The sea views from the balcony on our room and from the terrace restaurant were beautiful.
Cons: There were two large groups staying at the hotel during our stay and they rather monopolised the restaurant at certain times for dinner and breakfast, meaning that we had to take our own meals at different times to avoid the crowd and the noise.
Pros: Location, restaurant, view from the restaurant, bedroom terrace
Cons: Cockroaches in the bathroom Breakfast was ok but could be improved
Pros: The village is interesting for his banana plantations
Cons: Rules in place at the hotel. Restaurant just ok.
Pros: I had 'one of our best rooms' which had a terrace with a sea view. I paid 270 euros for 7 nights B&B, that's really good value.
Cons: I was surprised that there were no drawers in my room. The breakfasts were disappointing; coming down at 9.00 there was rarely any hot food left and the coffee was stewed.
The house / apartment has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds. A lounge with sofa, a sofa bed where you can watch TV and get some rest; kitchen, bathroom; hallway and two lobby. Sky, sun, sea, lots of peace and quiet is what you can find in our house. Sea Garden a welcoming place, with mild temperatures all year and its kind people. It is located 30 minutes from Funchal and 10 minutes from Calheta (Marina).
