Room was very good , very clean , Breakfast is good and cheap , i ate best pizza i have ever eaten here. there is only 3 busses all day to funchall and no busses at weekend, we traped on that village. nothing in the village, it says airport suttle in hotels website there is no such thing...
We very much enjoyed how we could socialise as a family in large rooms with kitchen facilities and good general hotel facilities.
Because it was januari (not really warm outside), the swimmingpool inside was nice. Because we are vegetarian, we were looking forward to cook ourself in the appartment. But we were dissapointed, because there were less utensils. No coffeemachine. either.
the staff were very pleasant and most helpful.it was nice to be out of town in a small fishing village. Our children loved the pools No Wifi or access to the internet .Surely essential to all in the modern business world.
Good staff, good room and balcony with sea views however very quiet out of season out of season - swimming pool closed -basic and expensive food
Very friendly staff Fabulous views/ good sized balconies (for 2 people) Food is good, steak on the stone is a must TV in the room had no digital or English channels No toaster or kettle in the room
Restaurant overlooking the sea and the staff were lovely All good, spacious room, quiet seafronted hotel.
I think more information should have been available in the rooms about the hotel facilities and what was around to do.
We appreciated the staff friendliness. We also appreciated easy access to sea swimming, which is not often found on Madeira. Rather remote for general access to Madeira as a whole.
The hotel is good value for money and both clean and confortable. It is quite remote from the village of Paul Do Mar, its restaurant is overly expensive, the parking lot is way too small and only 1 lift was working. Finally there is no Wi-Fi access which in a 4 star hotel is a bit of a shame.
Fine sandy beach. Nice restaurants. Easy to park the car. Fine supermarket in the hotelbuilding
friendly staff, sand beach, free levada walk
nice and relaxing no
Comfortable room, great seaviews, great location for access to walks at Rabacal Horrible pokey multi-storey car park
Location and view It is not 4 **** hotel
It's a very nice resort hotel, especially at a low season price. Apart from a supermarket right across the street, there isn't anywhere to walk to.
Placed just next to wonderful beach, and not far from Funchal and beatiful walking passes, very clean, the pool and the plage are great for kids, people are extremely kind, not expensive for its quality
There is no access to internet in the hotel rooms.
The shower was amazing. Food was international and not only Madeira standard cuisine.
staff very helpful buffet evening meal was a bit of a let down
scenery, silence, comfort, value for money, village environment maybe a welcome drink :)
This is just one of the best hotels I've stayed at - small yet very cosy and modern! Fantastic ocean view from the room! We stayed there in November, but I've enjoyed taking a swim in the morning and in the evening even if the water was cold. Very good breakfast. There's no bar or restaurant at the hotel, so you have to bring your own food. There's a very small local shop uphill, though, if you don't mind to climb for a wine bottle :) You might find it difficult to locate the hotel on the maps, but the staff will help you.
Super location with excellent view. It was like staying in a private house. Friendly welcome, nice rooms and a good breakfast None
I liked the fact that it's so close to two "levada" walks and the fact that it has a pool, though small. The fact that the pool was not always heated that much, the surrounding gardens need to be taken care of...some flowers are clearly dry. Photos on site are misleading in this case.
I lived 11 years in Madeira and I never thought that could be such a gorgeous place. Accomodation was equivalent to 5 stars hotel. Ideal place to relax and disconnect from a big city.
We were the only people there, it felt like our own house. We were only staying for 2 nights and will return for longer. The entrance gate was slightly difficult to drive into and the drive a bit bumpy.
The quiteness, the hospitallity, the styling of the house like the different salons and the kitchen.
The peace, beautiful views, the fact that the cottages were not all on top of each other so that we all had a good measure of privacy. The weather! The cottage provided everything we needed, it was warm and welcoming. The entire staff were helpful, courteous and very welcoming. We felt there needed to be more lighting in the rooms as at night it was difficult to read and the television was not worth watching. Also we felt there needed to be more facilities for light clothes-washing and an iron which is rather essential after a long journey. This should be in each cottage we felt rather than have to go to the Mother House to ask for the loan of an iron.
meals where very good and it was nice sitting at a large table with all the other guests tea and coffee always available which was very good no
The hotel was beautiful. The room and the whole facility was very clean, organized and romantic. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating. None.
Homely atmosphere. Communal dining. Self service hot drinks. wi-fi available. Beautiful building and lovely views. Motor access from main road is terrible and it was difficult to negotiate without damaging the hire car. The breakfasts were very good but the dinners could have been better, especially the vegetables.
Beautiful place and surroundings, lovely staff and food
Lovely old famhouse style hotel on a beautiful vineyard, with a shared pool and views towards the sea.
We liked the location, swimming pool, maid service, views and fresh bread in the mornings , ideal getaway from it all and relax type of place. More information is required in the cottages and they are not cool places to sleep in August. Things needed a bit of tlc to bring them up to scratch.
