Pros: It is a unique place with a real Spanish feel and the family was extremely hospitable. They owner went out of his way to help us and make us feel welcome, to the extent he helped us by not only recommending an excellent restaurant but phoned and booked a table for us. We could not have had better care taken of us.
Pros: Everything. We had the best time in La Giralda, Juan Luis and his staff could not have made us more welcome. We were on a walking holiday and didn’t have a car but Juan Luis arranged a taxi and suggested some lovely places to visit and eat. We even had a tour of the farm which was great fun. The hotel does not offer evening meal service at the moment but there are restaurants nearby and they were happy for us to bring our own food in for the evening as well. Thank you Juan Luis and all your staff (and Paco (and Miguel?!?!!)!), we look forward to returning!
Pros: The wheelchair accessible room had a gentle ramp to access ( good as some places the ramps are steep) and was spacious inside. The wet room was very good with good space. Lovely breakfast with varied selection.
Cons: Struggled with the internet and air conditioning. Room was a little hot.
Pros: Wonderful suites on a giant property. we arrived lately in the evening - give them a call and somebody will be there 15mins later. the rooms are great, nice whirlpool in the room and swimming pool outside. we had no time to discover the area - but they wanted to show us the cows and dogs and there are many things like hiking u can go for. we found a nice restaurant in the town nearby (8km) with michelin star - go there if u have the chance. thumbs up!
Pros: Owner of the hotel is very kind, polite and generous. It is the best hotel that you can find for these prices . I recommend this hotel to everyone wants to stay near that location. Rooms are amazing, very large and stylish and nature is lovely. Free toiletries offered are very comprehensive and a good coffee machine is present in the room. Heating system is working properly Andd there is a bull arena in the otel it is very interesting .
Cons: It is 8 kms away from the city center you should have a car.
Pros: We enjoyed our stay at La Giralda! It is a great stop with children - the children love to explore the bull training facility and feed the farm animals. We had a medical emergency while there - I fell and required stitches. The owner was so kind and helpful and even accompanied me to hospital to ensure I received proper care and could communicate accordingly. We brought our own dinner and were welcomed in the breakfast room and provided plates, etc. Very welcoming and kind staff.

Pros: We enjoyed the location as it was very peaceful, easy to park and a very short walk to the cafeteria/bar/restaurant. The food was very nice and catered for my partner who has coeliac disease and lactose intolerance very capably Its also worth mentioning that wheelchair users will find that full attention has been paid to their needs.
Cons: We didn't find anything not to like.
Pros: A charming and delightful property in the middle of the Spanish countryside, a very short drive from Jerez de Los Caballeros. Friendly and helpful owners and super clean simple rooms. Rooms are located around a beautiful courtyard that provides a great place to enjoy the Spanish sun.
Pros: The property & rooms are very clean. Great value for your money. The staff is very friendly.
Pros: Spacious room with effective Airconditioner.
Cons: Far from anywhere - in the middle of a field. No coffee facilities other than restaurant 100 meters from room. Quite poorly signposted.
Pros: Very nice Hotel. Very quiet. The owners let you know that you are very welcome.
Cons: Restaurant was closed the day, but I get offered a bocadillo con jamon.
Pros: Peace and quiet.Comfortable bed modern bathroom!
Cons: No fridge in room or desk and chair. No bar or cafe open Monday Tuesday or Wednesday!! Wifi only in reception. Breakfast poor.
Pros: Very fiendly staff
Pros: Great for being within walking distance of everything in the town. Good service in the bar and good food in the restaurant. Rooms not great but adequate. Nice town - the hotel is authentic and fits right in.
Cons: Location is a bit difficult to reach by car.
Pros: The breakfast bread and tomato with ham was superb, and the restaurant at night was very good. Very friendly staff.
Pros: Right price for the rooms
Pros: So friendly. Home made Jams and biscuits at breakfast and super views from the rooms.
Pros: A comfortable room in a convenient hotel with which to explore Jerez de los Caballeros, which is very much worth exploring. A good restaurant and friendly staff. Recommended.
Pros: Good restaurant, depending on the dish. Good meats.
Pros: The accommodation is right in the centre of town, very near all the towns attractions. The hotel has parking directly across the road. Check-in was quick and very friendly. That staff are some of the nicest hotel staff that we've met in Spain, always good to all their guests. Everyone who works here seems to be very nice. We arrived very late and were desperate to have a beer after such a long journey. The staff were very nice to ensure that we got a beer. The barman, despite us turning up after he was finished, made sure we had our beer before he left. They were so nice here that we had a light lunch the next day before we left the town. Very good service. The property itself is kept very clean. Bedrooms are a good size and are very comfortable. At least our room was very well equiped for those of lesser mobility. Handy to know when travelling with our elderly mothers. The hotel is also very quiet with very little noise, either from the street or within the hotel itself. I am a extremely light sleeper and even I slept like a baby here. The bathroom is a good size with good facilities.
Cons: There was very little not to like here. Our only real complaint, unfortunately, was our shower. It was extremely temperamental, constantly shifting between very hot and very cold. It was almost impossible to get it to stay at a good temperature. As we were guests at the hotel, it would have been nice to get one or two more beers the night we arrived and we wanted to relax a bit after our long journey.
Cons: The friendliness of the staff.
Built using natural materials, the Rincón de Abade offers free Wi-Fi and free parking. Many of the air-conditioned rooms have views over the town of Encinasola and the mountains. Hotel Rincón del Abade is a traditional building full of stone, rustic brick and wood. It is situated within the Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche Natural Park, only 6 km from the Portuguese border. All of the rooms at the Rincón del Abade feature iron beds, satellite TV, heating and a private bathroom. The Rincón’s restaurant serves typical meals from the region and local specials such as Ibérico ham. A log fire can be found in the lobby. Rincón del Abade guests have access to the public pool and public gym. The cafeteria features products from the Huelva Mountains and excellent regional wine. There is a large bar, while the café also offers views over the pretty gardens and satellite TV.
Cons: Beds too hard, and for the cost, breakfast should be included.
Pros: spacious rooms, property was easy to locate
Cons: no staff at front desk, had to wait for bartender to come & check us in. 1 of our group was assigned a room that was already occupied, then had a lengthy delay while waiting for someone to return to reception & sort it out. At check in, we were told breakfast was available at 6 am, but at 6 am, were told no breakfast until 8, only coffee & 1 cold prepackaged Danish provided. When we left the breakfast area, several other guests were being served toast with ham & cheese. This was very frustrating as a group of cyclists with a long day ahead of us. We felt that the staff were not very helpful.
Pros: Lots of character. Nice bar atmosphere and people. Owner is great. Rooms clean. Stone bathroom with a bath. Perfect after a long ride. Also manage to eat and the food was very tasty, quickly prepared and exactly what I wanted.
Pros: Rooms were comfortables, very clean, had a terrace to a nice view of the village. The hotel is sufficiently outside the village to be quiet, yet it takes 5 minutes on foot to get to the village. It is easy to find and has a good, very cheap restaurant. Overall, it is an amazing bargain for money. I later stayed one night at a nearby hotel (sierra luz in cortegana) which was double the price but was not as nice. It made me appreciate this hotel much more.
Cons: As often happens in these types of hotels, there is no dedicated person to run the reception; those working at the restaurant do so in turns. They come immediately when you need them, and are very helpful, but they are clearly not trained to guide a visitor to the region: they are there to let you in, solve your problems (if you have problems) but nothing else.
With a stay at HOSTAL EL CAMIONERO in Burguillos del Cerro, you'll be within a 15-minute walk of Popular Architecture Interpretation Center and Casa del Corregidor.
Pros: Good evening meal.
Cons: Rooms dated and minor repairs needed. However clean and funtional
Pros: Nice little room for a basic stay.
Cons: Nothing to dislike
Pros: Quiet location, great value, comfortable beds and air-con. Free parking outside. Attached bar served breakfasts and coffee.
Cons: No food in the evening apart from a poor selection of tired tapas.
Pros: Cheap, clean, with a bar attached, on street parking easy.
Cons: Rooms very small, bathroom tiny, and drunks in the bar annoying hotel guests. It appears to be a small town drinking hole.

Featured amenities include multilingual staff, a library, and an elevator (lift). Pros: Good value for money. Rooms are of good size. Good view. Friendly staff.
Cons: Soundproof a bit weak, but in general quiet when it gets late.
Pros: Antonio was an excellent host! It was a quiet night at the hotel and he came and had a long chat with my cousin and I about Spain and the local area as well as giving us some good tips about our further travel. This is a very traditional part of rural Spain and Antonio was delighted to share his knowledge. As a bonus, he speaks excellent English!
With a stay at Hotel Rural Ardila in Burguillos del Cerro, you'll be 11.1 mi (17.8 km) from Plaza Grande and 10.8 mi (17.4 km) from Convento de Santa Catalina. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Fabulous location next to a reservoir with a wide variety of birds. Although there was a frost, the heating kept the room warm and the feather duvet was very cosy. It was conveniently located close to a small town. Dog - friendly.
Pros: My room was a good size with a comfortable bed. The en suite facilities were good. The meal I ordered in the restaurant food was excellent and the prices were fair. The owners where very helpful in assisting me to locate assistance in Zafra. Secure parking for a motorcycles was a bonus.
Cons: A clear sign for the hotel would be nice. The hotel check in was in the Restuarante la Cercha which is clearly visible from the road. The GPS co-ordinates are incorrect - look for the correct location on *oogle maps.
Pros: Hostess super nice. Lovely ambiance. Great views. Good restaurant. Fine breakfast. Scooter could be parked under cover or in front of the room.
Cons: Track to the rooms was a bit slippery, had to be careful with the scooter, but it is fine for a car.
Pros: Lovely setting, friendly helpful owners, spacious room with very comfortable beds. Dog-friendly with plenty of space to exercise your dog and pleasant walks around the property and nearby reservoir.
Cons: We really wanted this hotel to become a favourite for our trips back and forth across Spain and all was well until breakfast. This was a complete disappointment with a cup of very mediocre coffee and half a small toasted baguette ready covered with oil and tomato. Maybe this was a one off as we were the only guests staying at that time but nevertheless, there is considerable room for improvement and I really hope the owner takes note as we'd love to make this a regular stop-off. We'd be happy to pay another 5 Euros on the price for an improved breakfast and would have welcomed the option to apply the oil and tomato to the toast ourselves
Pros: The friendliness of the owner
Cons: Very diff ult to find
Hotel Cristina offers a traditional Extremaduran restaurant, a garden terrace and air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi. It is situated a 10-minute walk from the castle and bullring in Fregenal de la Sierra. Decorated with floral designs, Hotel Cristina’s spacious rooms include a flat-screen TV, a minibar and a private bathroom. Some rooms have a terrace with views of the countryside. The La Dehesa restaurant serves typical regional cuisine, and many dishes include local Iberian ham. The hotel also has a café, a disco-bar and a cosy lounge with a fireplace. Just 2 km from the hotel, Fregenal Train Station offers regular links to Zafra and Huelva. Badajoz and Seville are around a 90-minute drive away. Free private parking is available on site.
Pros: Style of the hotel is very spanish and friendly, not much English though.
Cons: Everywhere is very dark and makes the place dismal. Breakfast poor. Needs an overhaul. Had to change rooms to an influx of ants.
Cons: Breakfast was a joke and a disgrace. Beer was expensive and gave small measure for the money. Room walls so thin, I could hear the next room as though I was in it. I got the impression they don't like English speaking. Restaurant only serves at restrictive times, and poor menu. I will never stay at this hotel again.
Pros: Didn't really know what to expect, just wanted a light meal. Great local grub. Staff couldn't have been more helpful, good English and they put up with my poor Spanish with good humour.
Cons: The soap dispenser had leaked into the bath making it slippery. Good grab handle to compensate. Also, had to ask Reception to turn on the heating master switch. Worked fine once they did.
Pros: Beds were very comfortable.
Cons: Car parking a bit limited.
Pros: As always we had had a great stay, the staff are always friendly and very helpful. They endure my awful Spanish and have no end of tips and encouragment to teach me more. If you ever get the chance to visit Spain and when I say that I mean the “Real Spain” this would be a great base to begin your adventure
Pros: Personnel was very attentive and kind, rooms were very comfortable, breakfast ( included in the fare) was delicious
Cons: The owner would like to substitute personnel at the reception by a machine. In such a village, you do not expect such an impersonal welcome. Fortunately the machine was out of order
Pros: WE do not speak Spanish but found no problem in being understood Staff were helpful and the town centre which is only 10 mins walk from the hotel was interesting
Cons: The dinner in the hotel, whilst cheap was not very good.
With a stay at Hotel Rural la Fontanilla, you'll be centrally located in Fregenal de la Sierra, 25.2 mi (40.5 km) from Plaza Grande and 8.1 mi (13.1 km) from Sierra de Aracena National Park. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and a safe deposit box at the front desk.
Cons: We arrived in 38 degree's of heat, booking in was not easy as only spanish spoken, there was a fan in the room set on very slow and no air conditioning, so our night was very hot and difficult to sleep. The hotel can't control the weather, but they can provide air conditioning. There was no staff when we arrived at 3 pm and after booking in there was no staff on the premises.
Pros: Very peaceful stay and the room was pleasantly cool. Very nice lady to greet us. Easy to park right outside.
Cons: It is a small thing, the bed was quite noisy so when one of us moved the other was woken up. But this would not be a problem for everybody!
Pros: The bed is comfortable and there was a lovely big bath in the room, with plenty of hot water.
Cons: The place needs a really good clean! For the price I'd expect a kettle in the room really, some kind of hot drink facility. Also, there was never anyone in the hotel.
With a stay at Hotel Los Templarios in Jerez de los Caballeros, you'll be within a 15-minute walk of San Bartolome Church and Plaza de Espana. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The location was ideal for us as a stop off on our journey to the Algarve.
Cons: The place is looking a little tired but I guess the price reflects this.
Pros: WiFi was 50 mbs average and signal was strong everywhere. Food was great.
Cons: Everything was great, everyone was very helpful and friendly..
Pros: The views where great the rooms where clean the staff where excellent and and nothing was a problem and the breakfast was first class and the evening meal was great value
Cons: It once was a 3 star hotel but I would rate it 2 stars it needs an upgrade and first of all the bathrooms and when we stayed there it was 32 deg and we could not use the swimming pool
Pros: Fantastic view from all the rooms. Very helpful staff - they were all very kind to us. Hotel is well decorated, although a little shabby. Clean rooms although the balcony with a table and chair were dusty for most of the time and not always as clean as the room itself. The location is amazing - on the doorstep of a beautiful little Templar town that is kept very clean.
Cons: Very poor quality breakfast! If we had known, we would have opted for having breakfast elsewhere and for much less value for money. Also the pool was not yet open (it was to be open the week after our stay) and we were disappointed as we had been looking forward to this. As such, area for relaxing outside was limited to the front part of the hotel where people come and go.
Pros: Breakfast, easy parking
Cons: Smelled like a smoking hotel, ash trays supporting smokers
Pros: great town, lots of history, beautiful views.
