Close to pistes smelly toilets close to recption
hotel staff was excellent, helpful and friendly. the location of the hotel is perfect for those who ski (but too many staircases to climb from the town center, where all the restaurants are). food very tasty. heating worked well. it's overpriced. very much in need for renovation. furniture in the room was old.
ski in ski out possibility rooms too small and 2 single beds instead of 1 double
Very helpful and friendly staff, excellent breakfast and dinner buffet. Good location close to lifts. Rooms and hotel have a musty smell. Hotel could do with some redecoration. Health club closed, only open at weekends. Some drinks over-priced.
Food location were OK. It was more like a hosetl than a 3 star hotel. The bath water came out brown and teh bedspread had holes in it.
food was excellent rooms were a bit on the small size
Good friendly staff Mix up with booking regarding using my first name not surname
Easy access to the slopes in Sierra Nevada. Helpfull and smiling staff. Great buffet.
Ziryab in best location for skiing ( car park/proximity to skilifts/free ski lockers). very noisy corridors and constant sound of water when loos flushed from other rooms etc.
Comfortable and warm rooms, beautiful view of the mountain, very clean, great location, good breakfast. Too many noisy children
Eveyrthing was excellent Parking, nightmare!!!
Superb location for access to centre of the village, ski hire and the main lifts. Direct access from parking into the hotel. Expensive bar and snack prices but on a par with the rest of the resort.
The breakfast and the location of the hotel The rooms are small and without carpets in the floor
Absolutely stunning hotel with excelent service
Relaxed, quiet atmosphere. Very small closet as reception, with dangerous step through a wooden door nearby should be looked at, its a nasty accident waiting to happen!
An unexpected delight. Right in the centre of town, recently refurbished and tastefully decorated. Very helpful staff. No parking at the hotel, but we parked directly outside following directions from receptionist. A real gem. Breakfast was a bit basic and uninspiring - single toasted slice of bread and jam, although the coffee was fab.....
decent services, friendly staff the giant dirt and concrete construction pit outside our room billed as an "indoor swimming pool."
Very large accommodation, a suite really for the price of double room. Only view from window, (building partly completed) but it did not spoil our visit.
Super hotel. Looks like a motel from the outside, but a palace when you walk into it. Decor is very nice and excellant value for money. Will definately stay again. Close to Guadix racing circuit which was the reason for our stay.
Room was nice. Convenient location by highway. Internet service costs 12 euros per day, and didn't work very well. Breakfast in restaurant was expensive and not very good - 12 euros for toast and juice and coffee for two.
Excellent restaurant.with a nice good value menu del dia and really good buffet breakfast with of plenty of choice. centrally located. Garage parking expensive, considering poor access and leaking roof in the garage. no free parking in the immediate vacinity
The room was pleasantly decorated. The service in the restaurant for breakfast was totally unacceptable. One coffee arrived, then the next, then the croissants, then about 15 minutes later, despite a reminder, the butter and jam arrived, together with the orange juices. The whole process tood 25 minutes and one coffee was only tepid on delivery. The dinner service the night before had been reasonable. When we mentioned our dissatisfaction at Reception, we were advised that they were short of staff and as we had not booked breakfast, they were not committed to providing it despite the fact that the restaurant was open. No English television although the Manager's Information Booklet said there was access to International television.
Much better than we expected a road side hotel to be. Spacious rooms and not noisy at all. Good food also.
Rooms large and comfortable. Menu del dia in cafeteria excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Unable to sleep due to noise from cafeteria, hallways and reception area throughout the night. For this reason we would not stay here again.
Comfortable room and friendly staff
very good as stopover hotel nothing
view, overall mountain chalet style restaurant is serving much too fast - we did not enjoy that
Very nice and helpful staff Parking facilities
We liked the layout of the room. The kids liked the loft! There was an odd smell in our room.
difficult to get to local restaurants as nowhere to eat nearby apart from hotel. Very handy for ski slopes provided runs are open
although the snow conditions were not great we had a nice stay have stayed there before and the staff are a lot nicer now s snow report could have been in english as well
Nice room - Location noise was terrible - other guests made alot of noise around midnight and nothing was said . kids playing on stairs 10pm till 11pm, echoing throughout hotel. never slept fully for the 3 nights we were their. Although not the hotels fault my car was keyed in the car park.
Direct access to the slopes Absolutely.! The quality of the mattresses is unworthy for a mistakenly 4 star hotel. Comfort in bed is the most important factor after a hard day of sports. Mattresses are the same as 1 or 2 star Spanish hotels. Unacceptable!
lhe location is excellent and the room was very spacious, breakfast was very very good with everything you need before a sports activity the room was burnning hot with no temprature in the room, the spa is expensive and therefor not really an option for a family experience
the smell in the rooms, the restaurant was very very bad
the staff were excellent and the hotel had a great feel about it. I wo9uld expect an a la carte restaurant in a 4 star hotel.
The service provided by most of the staff. The hotel is also very pretty and it has a perfect location. The spa facility is a terrible deal. It is not only not included in the price of the room, but they also charge per use of each of the services there: 12 euro if you want to use the jacuzzi, another 12 euro if you want to use the sauna and so on.
Because of the blizzards, enjoyed the jacuzzi and sauna. Food was good but expensive. The weather made it almost impossible to ski, but the staff were fabulous and the hotel has a nice, homely atmosphere. I hadn't realized it was so far from the town, and activities.
Great staff and nice dinner, clearn bathroom. Bit expensive
very friendly and truely hospitable staff; quiet location but city centre; good restaurant with excellent value for money lunch and dinner menu
The hotel was centrally located for the town making walking around very easy. Its location also made it central for car excursions to the nearby Sierra Nevada and surrounding countryside. The hotel itself was clean, the staff helpful & pleasant and its restaurant had a pleasant ambiance. Overall a good experience. A mini-bar and beverages would have been welcome in the room.
This hotel is absolutely brilliant. The gym and spa are lovely, the room was luxurious, the breakfast was delicious, and without exception the staff are the friendliest I have encountered in Andalucia. I saw some comments on booking.com that the area is a bit run down - it is true that there are buildings that are unoccupied but this creates the charm of the place and I found the area completely safe. Hotel Comercio is a goldmine in the centre of a real Andalucian town. I love it and I hope to return soon.
proximity to city sights . A lovely restored building. The spa was closed on sunday
Friendliness, comfort and food. Access street is narrow and parking difficult if hotel parking already taken.
clean, comfortable, spacious rooms, good decor, pleasant and polite staff very basic fitness equipment, rather gllomy atmosphere in breakfast room so went elsewhere
Nobody of the hotel staff speaks English, that is a problem if you want to have tourists from abroad.
Hotel Comercio was sheer luxury - what a treat! The staff were really friendly and the room was lovely. Guadix is a down-to-earth place to visit. Highly recommended.
The central location, and the staff were very courteous and helpful Some of the surrounding buildings were in a porr state of repair, which could put people off.
There were four of us in the group and we did not like the hotel at all.We were the only ones staying at the hotel. The food in the restaurant was good but the breakfast was awful. The rooms and corridoors were dark and gloomy and not very clean. There was no fridge in the room (there was one once as there was space for it). Overall it was not a four star hotel - more like two star.Your pictures on the website are not accurate - the dining room you show is, in fact, not in use.
This hotel is opposite the Castillo de La Calahorra and is easy to find and well located Butter is not available for breakfast despite repeated requests for it. The accommodation does not occupy a palace-fortress dating from the 16th century, it is opposite it, and it's impossible to visit the castle without making a phone call which the reception staff refuse to help with.
staff very kind, nobody speaks english really, only a lady, who is at reception sometimes, but it didn't seem to be a problem. we only stayed 1 night and had meal there. a lots of local typical spanish go there for a drink and food. it was a different authentic experience, we both loved the food. in your room you get mini toiletries, that was a nice touch. the spa was great too. It has 4 stars, but not in the sense of a sparkling city hotel. The location is great of you are using the motorway (just off) and has a castle you can visit on thursday mornings. no, for what we were looking for it was perfect
great room with a view of the Castle on the hill and the hills in the distance, did not eat in so cannot comment on food nothing
It's "different", interesting, a bit quirky! We enjoyed overall. Food "honest", local, friendly service. Not really.
view from our room was awful . it was suppose to be a stunning view , we just got a hill with lots of rubbish on it
Very well ocated for the castle, but only open Wednesdays AM/PM, not much else to do other than taking in a very rural yet interesting Spain village
Close to lifts, had a room in the back that was quite noisy. don't forget 25€ parking get the parking included in the price.
Mostly everything was just ok however the staff who were excellent and the great location out weighed this. Room with a balcony and view was also an upside. Breakfast could have been a little more interesting and perhaps of a slightly higher quality for the cost of the room.
The hotel is very well located for accessing the slopes. Staff was very helpful. The noise at night due to proximity to several bars...
The room was large and neat and the location was relatively convienient. The heat did not work well in the room which was quite cold and the shower water temperature was not consistant.
Friendliness of reception staff Needs renovation. Rooms very cold.
Proximity to the snow
On arrival at the hotel we checked in immediately and were personally shown to our rooms and advised where to park the car.Our rooms were very spacious and bright. The location was breath taking and just perfect for our needs. To wake up and see the ski slopes and chair lifts was amazing. Also to be right in the centre of the village was fantastic. There was plenty to see and do.The food in the hotel restaurant was also excellent with many choices and plenty of everything. The rooms were so warm, one of my main concerns was whether we would be warm enough and there was always very hot water all through the day.I have stayed in ski resorts before when everyone returns from the slopes there is no hot water for a time.I shall definitely recommend. No we had the perfect stay.Thank you.
Cleanliness, restaurant staff very helpful and pleasant Receptionist kind but a smile would have been very welcoming. One of our party was slightly disabled and both ladies in the party found the toilet was squashed in and not easily accessible.Choice of dinner menu was very limited particularly for starters.
Only 10 minutes from Sierra Nevada and is half the price.
Great View. Knowledgeable staff, good breakfast. Very small bathrooms.
Good dinner buffet. Good Location. Free internet wireless
lovely hot water for showering. terrible breakfast, drink machine needs filter changing and extra cost for using sauna. waiting a long time for someone to attend the bar and lack of t.v. channels.
Very helpful staff Damp smell in the room and no ventilation in the bathroom
Close to Ski resort - staff were very pleasant. Only worth what I paid (which was half price)... Many more nicer hotels around, it was very tatty and worn, internet was essential to me but not working and wasn't repaired during the stay.
Value for money when skiing in Sierra Nevada. Well kept road when snowing. We had (a rental )car and there is good parking space for free.Small gym. Close to Sierra nevada and Granada . Beds OK. Had to change room a couple of times due to problems with the bathrooms, though. Some of the staff were very kind and helpful but there were also a few people who acted far from serviceoriented and who were almost rude. The breakfast is poor. I would tell people that the hotel is Ok but also inform aboiut the drawbacks. The hotel is inefficially soundproof
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. As a hotel in the mountains it was kept very well heated. Th room was very basic for a three star hotel. There were no rug or carpet on the floor. Bath room was small and had no hairdryer and would have been very small and awkward for a larger sized person.
Location was great for sierra nevada Meant to be buffet evening meal but hotel put on menu instead which was very poor with 2 starters both fish, 2 mains 1 fish not what you expect from 3* hotel. Asked to purchase ski lift passes from hotel to save time at resort but guy on reception said it takes 15 minutes to do so just get them there as there would be no ques, but when we got there we had to que for over 2 hours which was very annoying when you have 2 children with you, so his laziness ruined our morning.
Made to feel welcome, staff were well trained and informative. Nothing was too much trouble.
easy access to slopes and shops
It was our first visit to Sierra Nevada ski-resort.It was positive experience, surely we will return ...
Excellent location. Very friendly and helpful manager. Good dinner menu, well cooked. The rooms were a little dark and uninviting
The serenity of the environment and the cleanliness of the hotel were first class. We got automatically upgraded one category since most rooms were not occupied. The remote key to open the gate at night did not work so we had to climb over the gate to operate the key from the inside. That was OK for us but I can imagine less mobile people to have an issue (and there was no number to call to solve the issue at that time of night).
The apartments are amazing, quiet, great views, excellent value for ~50 Euro! The hotel is 1-2 km from town, we did find a path the last day to avoid the road, but it is meant for those with a car. Some laundry soap would be nice. Also the pool was still being filled the day we arrived (1 June).
Excellent friendly, helpful staff. Beautiful setting with superb sunset views of distant hills, great swimming pool for cooling off after hiking, quiet tranquil little village. Apartments were basic but rustic with a lot of charm, nicely decorated. Restaurant was very good, hearty meals at a good price. Very keen to go back nex year
The view is extraordinary. You need a small car to reach the parking.
We stayed one night on our honeymoon traveling through Spain. The hotel was small but staffed with very friendly people. Their restaurant is fantastic. Do heed other traveler's notes about access -- it was a challenge navigating the VERY narrow streets to the hotel's parking lot, but it was manageable with a planned route and the assistance of a spotter.
Location only Very scruffy and rundown. The room was a dormitory with 4 beds reminiscent of my military days. The beds were very short and our ankles hung over the end. It was the most expensive sruffy hostal we have ever stayed and half the price would have been too much. I am an ex Fire Officer and the fire safety is horendous, Extinguishers were missing, fire doors did not have self closers and our room was in a very long dead end with one way out but no fire separation. We would have gone elsewhere but it was Easter and the skiing was superb. I have often stayed in this resort and it is very expensive compared to the rest of Europe for skiing so we new we would have to pay over the odds but this place is a disgrace and a fire trap.
Breakfast was good. For the pice paid (124 euros/night) the value of the room was quite poor, the quality of the facilities was poor and the beds were quite uncomfortable. I would have paid for this about 60 euros instead as a fair price for what I got.
Good buffet breakfast selection, room was cleaned regularly, rooms were warm and heating was adjustable. No lift, 3rd floor with cases was challenging. Mens toilet in reception had no seat. Price seemed pretty strong for 2*.
The room is very spacious. No parking but street parking is available
No good points No lift in hostal,to hot in hostal, noisey and when booking on web page thought it was a hotel.
Reasonably priced (youth hostel type) hotel considering it's in the ski village. Very basic accomodation which is need of some TLC.
