I liked it. Decent TV channels selection. Liked the continental breakfast. Friendly staff. Fairly affordable. The mattress wasn't quite as comfy as the one I slept on at a different La Quinta suite in Houston some months ago, but it was OK.
You can tell this is a new building everything is clean and up to date. Friendly staff and delicious breakfast. Overall great comfortable experience. The whole stay was outstanding and up to date, the Tv's were a little out dated. Not a big issue bug still noticable.
I just like location is good Staff was not help full
Availability of water and snacks. Free self laundry. Excellent work out equipment. Room card entry for use of elevators. Expensive to make phone calls.
I loved the gym, plenty of equipment to meet my needs. the lobby was spacious and comfortable. and the staff were friendly and helpful especially the valet parking and concierge. When I upgrade myself and book " Room 1: Superior Room With Kitchenette -Non-Smoking Spacious Room With Queen Bed.." I expect a superior room, not a closet! and instead of a kitchenette there was a tiny refrigerator and a tiny sink. my stay was uncomfortable and disappointing, and I will tell people to save themselves a bad time and avoid booking here.
Asked for receipt to be e-mailed--never got it --bit of a problem since I was supposed to be able to expense this
not terrible- was close to ballpark, good price. Tiny rooms. $30 parking. Funky bed smell- very musky
Single traveler for 1 night stay The value is fantastic, the customer service was great, the decor is minimalist lovely. Coffee, tea always available and healthy snacks for an early evening pick me up. I was attending an event at the NRG stadium, and was able to hop on the light rail to get there with ease.
We do "staycations" on weekends all over Texas and we've had some odd smelling rooms but the smell of crawfish we do strong I got sick. There was no fabreeze or candles to light to help the smell so I had to use my expensive perfume. Sadly will not be returning.
Outstanding customer service
Filtered water everywhere, complementary snacks, clean and central location
The room was clean and had everything you needed. For the size of the room, we did not expect a microwave or miniature refrigerator so that was a nice surprise. Could not find where to park, but we left our vehicle with the valet.
I reserved a room for two nights through a booking agency and paid with a card. I wasn't able to make the trip so I cancelled the night before. I had the reservation for less than 24 hours and I cancelled it 24 hours before I would have checked in, but I was still charged for the first night. The booking agency said it was the hotels policy and vice versa. They just stole $110 from me
It really was the perfect venue for our excursion. Papasito's was amazing. The breakfast at 1600 was amazing. And I can't say enough about the skyline view from the pool deck and outside terrace. I was really surprised that there were no fans in the bathroom.
The room was large and very clean. The view was great! We could see the fireworks at the stadium one night even! It's a bit pricey, but was worth it
The location is great for me as I was here to see a concert at the House of Blues. This is a great location for the convention center. The staff is friendly and helpful. It was close to a homeless shelter and walking around at night didn't feel safe
The location and proximity to MDAnderson Cancer Hospital was ok, less than 15 minutes to drive there. The decor, though older, was nice too. There was a full size gingerbread house in the lobby, all edible, which we thought was really cool too. Reading online that this hotel had a remodel in 2011, I wasn't expecting it to be perfect and pristine, but it was even less than I expected. The carpets coming off the elevator to our floor were stained and looked dirty. Entering the room, everything looked ok, but there was a definite smell to the room. Not overpowering, but not good either. Kind of musty/humid/moldy smelling. The tv was on a dresser not facing the bed, or any of the chairs in the room, so I'm not sure how one is supposed to view it. We were there for one night before our appointment at the MDAnderson Cancer Center, and though we will be making many trips there over the next few years, I'm not sure we will stay at this hotel again. For the price ($156 after taxes), I was expecting better.
Very close to downtown Houston. Walking distance to sporting arenas. Free shuttles when needed. You have to pay for parking.
My room was clean everyday
Our driver, Modesto, was AMAZING! Actually all of the staff was very welcoming and awesome :)
Staff is excellent. Very friendly and quick to help with any and everything. This is the second time we've stayed here and the experience was excellent both times. Can't think of anything we did not like.
Very friendly and helpful Leaving
Gorgeous inside and out. Staff was professional and courteous . Hilton Americas is the best of the best. Short stay.
Location is good, very convenient. The blanket is not soft at all
Elevators were extremely slow. Only 2 operating in peak hours. Smelled of unpleasant cleaning products.
I like the overall value in the cleanliness of the rooms I didn't like the 50 dollar deposit per room because I reserved three rooms so that was an extra hundred and fifty dollars taken out of my account
I had a pleasant stay at Crowne Plaza River Oaks. The staff was very helpful considering that this is my first time in the US. The room was spacious and very clean, and you cant beat such price.
To be honest there wasn't much I liked about the hotel and I have stayed there before. This is my second stay at this hotel and I book it because it's fairly close to the Houston rodeo. You have to pay $9 for parking and I'm like you are really changing me for parking when I'm a guest at this hotel? No free continental breakfast really? Holiday Inn express has a great free breakfast. The sheets were seriously like 100 count plastic or something in case you wet the bed. The housekeeper entered my room 3 times starting at 7:30 to noon and we were trying to sleep. The front desk had gotten my reservations wrong and called my room at which time I explained to them we were staying 2 nights. Well I guess the front desk didnt believe me because they locked me out of my room. I had to go to the front desk and show them my reserverations. Terrible experience and quite frankly I dont think I'll be back.
The room was comfortable. It was the first time we both stayed here. Out of all the places to stay in Houston we chose this place. What ruined our experience was that my new 2015 vehicle was vandalized in the self-parking garage. This ruined my whole experience and and impression of crown plaza. I reached out to a manager and she quickly pushed us to the valet staff. The manager was out of town so Eric just made me fill out an incident report. He stated the his manager Mr. Dillet would call me and till this day he still has not reached out to me. I had to call him consistently to get an answer. I've already spoken to him and I understand the outcome. It was just the way things were handled that makes never want to return to this place again.
Location, secure environment, large room, comfortable queen size beds, kitchennet area in room, beautiful accommadations, and extremely friendly staff. I did encounter one problem with no hot water in the shower. My parents were two doors down therefore my family used their bathroom. I immediately reported the plumbing problem. We were offered another room and given a credit for not receiveing full sevice in the room. The manager and staff accommdated my family quickly and graciously. For a family of three and my parents traveling with me there was no free complimentary breakfast available. I really think this should be included for the price of the rooms
STAFFS ARE ALL FRIENDLY & KIND. ROOM WAS CLEAN & COMFORTABLE TO STAY
the stay was very nice the service was good! I didn't like being next to nosiy neighbors!!
Nothing about this hotel That the rooms smelled awful so we switched rooms and there it was. The same smell. It smelled like heavy carpet smell. Turns out they were smoking in the room before we arrived. We were later told to heck out find a different hotel and leave. The staff weren't helpful at all since there was a big group checking in she didn't care about us
The hotel can use a renovation in the rooms.
Beautiful spacious room. Front desk staff was wonderful Garage elevator broke and was out of order nearly two days during our stay.
We had to pay an extra charge for the self parking. This charge was %40 of the charges I was paying for staying the night.
Not much too extra fees not worth the stay. The price did not fit the service and accommodations.
Samar <3 Leaving Samar :(
A family emergency brought me to Houston, and I booked my room online. I loved the urban modern decor. Boutique and trendy - and the decor is my style, but some fixtures were a little dated. Location and self (or optional valet) parking were very convenient. Lots of hidden fees: resort fees, "misc tax", parking tax; plus upon check in - after already paying my entire reservation (4 nights), my CC was charged $100/night for "misc". I was prorated some of the $100/nt, but it was still an unexpected expense that I was not aware of $100/nt fee when I booked - or I probably would've cancelled my reservation. Also reserved for 4 nights, but when I tried to extend my stay 2 extra nights, the room rate was much more per night. They did allow me a late check out to decide if I wanted to pay the increased rate - which I greatly appreciated. I ended up checking out of the Derek, and stayed in another hotel in the galleria district those 2 extra nights.
I loved the location of the hotel and the fact that they actually had a full bar. I made reservations through hotel.com and the check in process was very easy. The staff were very friendly. Nothing against the hotel itself, but I wish there was someone who monitored the noise levels in the hallways. Even with a sign posted requesting guests to be mindful of their noise level, the guests next to us kept partying and being overall noisy until 4 AM.
Comfy beds. Easy check-in. Must pay for parking due to location.
love the surroundings, the quietness and cleanliness of the place...the staff was also wonderful and friendly especially the bartender...although there was one staff that doesn't know the first thing about customer service not really towards me but what I've seen with other guests on 2 occasions.....overall I love the place but there's a few things they can work on because of their price
Hotel Derek made my money worth, that we even decided to stay an extra day and the front desk workers where very professional and flexible with check out hours.
It was in a great location. Clean, great area, very trendy, great staff. There was a bunch of hidden charges, everything was a la carte. I ended leaving 3 hours into my stay because I had a emergency. None of my charges where refunded. Even 20$ off the restaurant would have been nice in that situation. I was given the absolute worse view. Im from Houston and ill get hotels so avoid driving on the weekends but, probably wont stay at Derek again.
Boutique hotel feel. Near the Galleria and other shopping and restaurants. Fire alarm went off at 5:30 AM. Noticed that some of the lobby furniture and room furnishings looked worn and needed to be updated. Located in a busy area and entering and exiting on Westhimer is difficult.
hotel presenation my a/c went out and was placed in a room with same problem
Even with the construction outside, we had a great stay at Hotel Derek. It's a fun hotel at a great location. The only real negative was the cleanliness of the room (specifically the bathroom). Overall, the hotel staff was great. We also enjoyed grabbing a drink at the hotel bar as it had a great vibe, lots of energy and plenty of opportunity to mingle.
Newly renovated, spacious, comfortable. Fairly high parking fees, though perhaps reasonable for this location.
Layout of room. location Dog barking
The room was super clean, staff very friendly and efficient, and great atmosphere.
the staff was extremely friendly and the location is perfect for getting around. The rooms were clean and the hotel was beautiful. Would definitely stay again.
Beautiful hotel, atmosphere perfect. I only got to stay one night.
All staff is very friendly and helpful The room was very large and accommodating The meeting rooms very conveniently located Was not happy valet parking $32 per day
I would recommend a different scent for the shampoo/conditioner/body wash. Both my boyfriend and I smelled strongly of coconuts and wanted something less overpowering.
Nice facilities, cordial and friendly staff that went above and beyond to ensure my stay was a pleasant one. The bedding was extremely comfortable, the showers well kept and gave a home away from home feel. slow wifi, tight parking garage thats a bit more expensive than i would expect for a place with no security guard, barely any room to actually park your vehicle, no free breakfast.
We had to pay for parking.
The hotel was beautiful and everyone was so friendly and helpful!!!!
The cleaning staff was very nice I liked everything
Reasonable Price; clean, friendly staff, excellent services
I drove for four straight hours from San Antonio to Houston and when I got there my reser
Brkst good. No channel guide on tvs, or instructions
not a thing it was terrible! They gave me a bad room in front over freeway to get even for getting discount rate, noise all night long, two nights they had 50-100 dump trucks and other semis right outside my window. They showed up starting about 10:30 pm and went till about 1-2 am Tuesday night and Monday night. They also have very bright lights out side each bedroom which comes through old work blinds. So noise and light make for poor night sleep. They don't clean rooms till late after noon I don't think I should have to pay they put me (the only person I saw on the 7 th floor 100 yards from one of the main freeways going into Houston trucks and cars and workers all night long. In mornings on ramp is right out side window so people gunning motors to access the freeway. And there were empty rooms in other spots people were getting I think going through you, getting a lower rate they punished me by putting me there. Pool was full of slim. I have pictures and video of trucks waking me up in middle of night and they didn't care! I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY and they could have cared less! Would never stay there again big front to poor rooms TV channels were all bad unless you paid for some thing! No sleep for two days!
Close to where we needed to be. Ckean Traffic noise ALL NIGHT LONG. Air conditioning constantly on- off - on -off. Just noisy.
Rooms needed to be updated. Door handles broken etc.
Nice size of the room! Very friendly service!!
Love the hotel. Staffs are great and very friendly. The hotel location is prefect and easy to get to. Not to impress with the breakfast buffet. The buffet make the hotel look cheap. Being it is a Crowne Plaza , the buffet make it feel like a Quality Inn breakfast experience. I was expecting a nice setup with omelet and bacon, fresh fruit etc.. The service was not good either,. Servers did not refill coffee or come by to check on you or even pick up dirty plates . I had to get my own coffee refill . Then one of the server call last call on the breakfast buffet. Last call??? Never seen that one before when someone called last call on a buffet with the restaurant full of guest. .....Over all, the hotel is very nice and the staffs are friendly. I would still stay there but won't do the buffet.
The fish pond in the lobby the pillows were really soft and overalll it was a good place Housekeeping coming at 9:00am
Centralized location, affordable. No valet the night we arrived, pearking area was dark and entrances were a good distance from the parking lots. I would not have felt comfortable with my wife walking to the car at night. The room left much to be desired as well, only a double room availability right next to noisy I-10 FWY. The room was clean but had a mildew odor and the AC was extremely loud which may have been intentional to drown out the hwy noise. Saturday evening only one very small elevator was functioning so waits for a spot on the elevator exceeded 5 minutes. Not a hotel I'd recommend.
Great Space, nice and clean and bed is comfy! There was a women convention and my neighbors were very loud and disconsidered, also front desk made a mistake and woke me up at 8am
A very nice hotel. The staff was great, the room was quiet and equipped as you'd expect. Lobby was tremendous. A must-stay if you're in west Houston!
It was clean For the price they tend to give you the least updated room. So you get the omni name but not the quality experience you expect
I liked the comfort and overall feel. I liked the pond and the easy access to the hotel from the parking lot. They don't offer basic services offered and 2 or 3 star hotels like complementary breakfast. Also they "offer" drinks and snacks in the room but at very pricy extra cost. $3 or $4 for a can or soda or snack bar.
This old property has a great lobby and fountains to view outside. Parking was limited so use valet. Small clean rooms and quiet. The night staff swiped my card on the wrong room. Then britney said she was doing me a favor giving me a 2nd set of keys and needed to swipe debt again...
The hotel was very nice and very clean. The food was great too. The only thing that I didn't like was at 7:50 am the maid let herself in and woke me. She left immediately, but still that was somewhat strange.
Great stay with very friendly and helpful staff. All arrangements were fulfilled and hotel offered as many amenities as any traveler could dream of. Fantastic overall experience! Hotel was such a retreat, It instantly made me regret not booking more nights! I had a great experience for my first time at the Omni.
$75 a night for a 4star hotel.
The place was beautiful. Very kind and helpful staff. Easy check in and check out. Good time over all. Asked for a king bed, got two full beds. .-. I was a solo traveler and had no need for the other one. But oh well life goes on.
Great location. Comfortable amenities. Friendly staff. Housekeeping was loud at times and non-responsive to my need for in-room creamer for complimentary coffee.
This hotel is absolutely gorgeous! It was much nicer than I was expecting - felt like a boutique hotel. Our room was spacious and had all the amenities we needed. I also loved the Urban Star Market - great selection of food and drink items, and convenient hours. The location was perfect too, as I had easy access to the various parts of the city I needed to get to during my stay. I will definitely come back to this hotel the next time I am in Houston, and will recommend it to family and friends. Parking is valet only, but service was fast so it wasn't an inconvenience at all.
No explanation that there is mandatory valet parking. Cost an additional $32 to park my car overnight.
Great stay, friendly staff, great buffet, amazing mattresses. Would come again and again.
Staff and facilities Made a mistake on date and the hotel hid behind the Expedia foul up. No common sense.
Nothing because I cancelled my booking Parking cost additional 35 dollar. It's a madness.
Valet Parking was extremely efficient. Earlier reviews had panned the valet parking, but they apparently have a new team and use a message based system that was superb. Seemed also to have very smart people actually running the cars. Best I've ever seen at a hotel. No electrical outlets on the side of the room with the table and chairs. Also, wasn't wild about their lighting system in the bathroom, etc.
I like the hotel it's nice to stay if you come from long trip I do t like the ppl who parking the car cause I come at 4am and I was tired I give them my car to parket and next day when I was in. My car they took my headphones from my I phone7 it's not trust for give them you car
Rooms were well appointed and thoughtful. Staff was attentive and professional. Beautiful hotel. Located near light rail and could be heard all day and night.
I liked the short walk to Minute Maid Park and to Vic & Anthony's restaurant. I like the ability to check-in early. I liked the pre-reg email asking for early check-in preferences. I did not like the cramped quarters at the entrance. Due to the train, the narrow lanes for auto & valet made for a cluster. There were no bell carts available and the bell men seemed too busy. I did not like the small size of the sleeping room. Very cramped quarters.
The staff was very kind and helpful. The area at night seems a little unsafe.
Extremely friendly staff. All the pictures showed a large tub in the bathroom. This was really important to us in booking our room, however, there was only a shower upon arrival. We felt duped.
Room was very nice. Huge tub. Service was excellent all the way around. Towels were a little rough. $40 for 1 night of parking is steep. $30 for two mojitos is also steep.
We really enjoyed the room and the location. It was 2 adults and a 5 yr old. We were there to catch an Astros game and to visit NASA which was only a 30 minute drive away. Minute Maid was within walking distance. Concierge said we could use the complimentary shuttle but we walked to ballpark instead. Hotel was also next to the northbound and southbound light rail so we hopped on that to the museum district. We would definitely stay there again. We didn't use the valet for $36, we found street parking around the corner. Got locked out of room at noon even though we had a late check out scheduled. Was no big deal though. They had a bus boy sent up to give us new room keys and they apologized.
I loved the area and the view that I received. Staff was great! I did not like the fact I had to pay for parking. I feel that should be included with the visit.
Very accommodating staff. Convenient location to shopping restaurants. Rooms clean and spacious.
price and location
There was plenty of room in the suite. It was just a little dark in the hallways. I like a little cherrier look.
Good location, comfortable suite
Good location next to the Galleria Mall. Enjoyed the Sheraton Club. Beds were pretty comfortable Bathroom could use updating, it was probably clean but had moldy caulking
location is close to shopping area nothing
Very clean, quiet rooms.
Room was nice, valet parking, guest services was awesome - very helpful. Free internet in lobby was conveniently accessed! Price of breakfast at Restaurant was a little high.
Service was great. Made us feel like valued customers. Special shout out to Rex, the concierge. Food in bar was also very good Everything was great
Bar Food and cookies! Poor Lighting in rooms
Spacious rooms. Suite was nice.
Great location! Clean! Excellent service and food! Mattress not the most comfortable
I would've liked for there to be a spa.
The Regency lived up to its reputation. I was impressed by the friendly, helpful and informed staff. The beds were very comfortable. WiFi is free in the social areas, guest of the hotel have to pay for WiFi in the guest rooms.
Very friendly staff Not enough cabs
Fernando is the man he very helpful as well as lido The bums, walkout side and always asking for money
Great location to Medical center. AC worked great, good shower, nice towels. Good comfortable bed, Wonderful staff, First time to stay and will be back. T-Bone
Clean comfortabe beds, good temperature control, nice towels and toiletries. Excellent food in the hotel restaurant, well prepared, modertely high prices. Most of the wait staff was very well trained, and very polite and attentive. Unfortunately we had one waitress who was very slow and unattentive. I asked for an extra slice of bread and she tried to charge me $1.75 Plus tax. Excellent free shuttle service to and from the local hospitals. I thought it was excessive to charge $10 per day for parking while a paying guest at the hotel. Movie rental charges were insane, $15 per day for an older movie and $18 per day for a current movie. Ouch.
Clean, comfortable, and convenience at great price! Everything excelled expectation
This is a good standard hotel close to the places I needed. I got upgraded to a suite, which included a kitchenette. Since I was only staying one night, that didn't really matter, but I could imagine that would be really nice for a long stay. Staff was very friendly. Their computers were down and I couldn't get my bill. When I asked them to email it to me, they forgot.
Great location. Center for medical use. Close to Rice Village, where there are several fine dining restaurants.
Super comfortable beds. 1 block from light rail, easy access to NRG stadium. Great staff. By car, slightly inconvenient. Lots of hard-to-avoid traffic in vicinity.
If you are there BC family is in hospital the. It is a great place for the price. Clean and convenient Shuttles are too inflexible. There isn't good communication within own staff. There are no set protocols. Some have their own rules. The day shift is A LOT more efficient than the evening. Not very good at keeping the bums from harnessing you outside the hotel
No complimentary breakfast, A/C made loud banging noises, bed was not comfortable and the parking is poor.
Location. Too expensive for what's provided. Very dated and old. Terrible restaurant.
I was surprised that there was no microwave in the room.
Great location for early morning flight Guests coming and going throughout the night...some with no regard for sleeping guests.
The property was well maintained and the staff was attentive and very helpful. Very close to the airport. Very close to the airport but not much else. The airport noise was very noticeable.
I stay at this property every time I'm in Houston. The staff is great. The rooms are always clean and updated. The restaurant is open late, has a great bar and food.
The value for the room on a Monday late evening was great. Everyone was friendly, the place was quite & clean, the beds were comfy & the room and bathroom were clean, coffee in the room was Starbucks, the cafe for breakfast was good. I left a personal item and the staff was able to locate it. I couldn't be happier. Thank you all so much for taking the time to locate it and keep it safe. Also, a plus its so convenient to the airport and FREE parking. Oh, and cant't forget the pool area looked clean as well. If I was staying more than just overnight I would have wanted a room that didn't smell like smoke. I did notice smoke free signs in the hallway, but I know some do not always abide by the rules. The smell was tolerable for a night stay, but anything more, I would have asked for a new room.
I love the staff. They were really nice and friendly, always smiling. N/A
Everybody was very friendly. No liners in trash cans
I arrived late and my reservation was made on the wrong date.. due to the travel site or the hotel... but the staff on the front desk refused to accomodate me even though you guys had probably 50 empty rooms. I understand that it might not have been your fault.. but you rather have an empty room than a customer. WELL THIS CUSTOMER RUNS A COMPANY WITH 2650 ENPLOYEES. WE BOOK AN AVERAGE OF 110O HOTEL ROOMS A YEAR AND YOU JUST LOST ALL OUR BUSINESS. When you are just in business to make a quick buck.. you will lose your quality customers. Im taking my and all my companys business elsewhere. Regards, Somak
I called for a shuttle and was told one would be leaving the hotel in 15 minutes. The hotel is 10 min at most from terminal. I patiently waited 30 minutes but no shuttle. Called back spoke to the same man, who was very rude, He said the shuttle would be there very soon. I waited 15 more minutes, no shuttle. Called back and spoke with the same rude man. Again he said it would be there shortly. 15 minutes later still no shuttle. By this time I have spent 1 hour in the middle of the night waiting for a shuttle from a hotel 10 min away. By this time I was angry. Called rude man back and told him I would not be staying at the hotel and to cancel my reservation. I called uber to take me somewhere else. As the uber vehicle was driving off the Sheraton van was pulling in. Well over an hour at 2 in the morning. Not
We had a 9 hour layover in Houston and this hotel was close to the airport, had a shuttle and was reasonably priced. The AC was broken the whole night, it was very uncomfortable (June in Houston). There was no cold water in the sink or shower. I don't understand how the cold water stops working however it was very annoying be cause we had been on a plane all day and wanted to take a shower. I was given a really vague excuse of what was going on. I was too tired to argue so we just went to be dirty and hot.
Very close to the airport, free 24-hour airport shuttle
I liked the room and cleanliness. One shuttle driver was a bit apprehensive and with the rates paid for rooms breakfast should be included in my opinion.
The staff was fantastic and they all seemed like they enjoyed working there. First class the whole way!
The pleasantness of the staff No informal cafe. Some across the street, but not in the hotel. Hotel restaurant excellent but expensive and only other choice was on the roof at the pool.
Staff was excellent. Facility was very nice. Good location. Room is in need of repairs and not up to luxury standards. Shower water temperature was very erratic. Hotel Restaurant was Italian themed, in Houston!
Excellent service standards
Excellent bed & shower. What else do you need...? A/C in the bed room is a little bit noisy. I had to shut it off.
I liked that the staff seemed to really care each and I every time I had a need, even for my puppy ! Thanks for a great stay.
Had to use valet parking the whole time as the regular deck was closed, and there was an extended wait to get the car when I was ready. The room could also use a refrigerator.
Roooms not as new as would be expected. TV was not modern and had problems with it. Valet parking was extremely expensive for parking my vehicle around the corner where I can see it when I exit the hotel
Location is great, facility is average!! Parking is a problem, no self parking and you can wait for your car for a long time.. During peak hours, valet department don't answer your call..even if they do you may still wait !!!
The staff was really helpful and informative about places to go eat and hang out. and with directions. Balcony was very small, and expected more for my money.
Room and in room food were both good... The pool and hot tub close at 10pm.. You have to walk right pass them to get to the 24 hour gym.. they should all be 24 hour
Breakfast buffet was included in the price of our room. Staff was helpful when we requested to move rooms. Indoor swimming pool and whirlpool were nice. Free parking. Did not like room 510 - the room was right up against the elevator shaft - very noisy. Disappointed that they put us in that room in the first place.
Stayed without heat all night small room in would stay in Hampton or holiday Inn not this one, good buy whyndham
Courteous staff, comfort of the room was nice. Value for what I paid was okay. The hotel is a little dated. Parking was not terribly convenient. Not much of a restaurant selection in the immediate vicinity.
Indoor pool My ac stopped working for a hour had small wash towels hanging on shower rod which seem like pubic hair on it I got charged for a local call....
The bed was perfect.. Never even turned on the TV. laid down, and don't even remember falling asleep.
Facility was nice, location was good as well. enjoyed our stay Cleaning and maid service lacked a bit.
Everything was great for being there one night and getting the room pretty cheap..
Our kids would have given the place 5 starts for the indoor pool alone. My wife and I enjoyed the facility as well all around.
Almost Everything Paid for 3 days of high speed internet. On day 2 it was cut off for some reason. I contacted the front desk and it was restored within the hour.
Comfortable bed Pool was heavily chlorinaded. Had a room that connected to the room next to us. Could hear everything from our neighbors. When I complained, I was only offered an apology.
Loved decor and friendliness of staff Valet parking only
The staff was really personable from the valets to Jorge to the counter staff. The hotel has a very appealing luxury façade but wait until you get to the room. The room air conditioner did not cool the room. The ceiling had what looked like "black mold" but at closer look may be lent from the air conditioner vent. The room area that housed the ice maker looked very neglected which made me feel that the hotel was beautiful on the surface only.
no refrigerator in room
Bathroom too small, room size fairn overall meet and comfortable.
Bed was somewhat comfy and internet was good in my room. I booked well in advance, but was given the room next to the elevator because they were sold out. The front desk person did try to be honest about it when I checked in, but didn't have any alternatives. The shower made a horrible chugging noise, and fixtures in the bathroom had visible rust. Also, although downtown Houston is not a walkers' paradise anyway, we were barely in the downtown center and had to walk 20 minutes or more to get to decent restaurants.
nice hotel great location too expensive for parking 35$
Close to the federal building. Rooms were not good. Beds were terrible. Possibly the worst hotel beds I have slept in. Noisy and kept the kids up as they are light sleepers. The hotel itself smelled old and the rooms did as well. There was mold in the inside bath/shower unit. We left the hotel as soon as we could. Staff were fantastic. The employees in the hotel did a great job.
Breakfast buffet was phenomenal
I loved that there were healthy food choices for breakfast at very reasonable prices. The express breakfast delivered to the room was a real treat. At night, the AC seemed to shut down automatically for a period of time. It got a bit stuffy in the early morning hours.
I loved the Crowns Plaza location to Mid-Town. I was just a cheap cab ride away from all my friends and the excitement. Glasses were to small to mix cocktails in the room
We found that the noise from the highway can be very loud and make it challenging for children to sleep at night. We also found cockroaches in the bathroom and that is not good indication of cleanliness. We raised the fact that we found the cockroaches to the hotel staff and their response was okay we will inform the housekeeping.
Very quiet and cozy, with only about 8 rooms per floor. Rooms are small, but nicely appointed and very clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was great. Everything was obviously prepared fresh. Staff are courteous and friendly. The front entrance was under construction. Not much of a view from our room, just the parking lot.
The hotel was remodel the front and the noise was horrible. Room so small. Queen bed not King.
Service, food and ambience. Nothing
Wonderful hotel, great rooms, lovely staff and a perfect location. That I had to leave so soon.
The room was large and beautifully appointed. All amenities were available. The beds were very comfortable and temperature control was easy. Bathrooms are small and plumbing is worn but nice looking and fits the room. The biggest problem I had was two mornings( plus a third I didn't tell staff about) when I couldn't get hot water to the shower. In one case it was a boiler problem and the other two I don't know but possibly regulator plumbing at the shower itself. The staff are exceptional and offered a room upgrade but only on the last evening of my staff so I stayed where I was. I would try this place again because of the kindness and the responsiveness of staff and if going to the theatre.
It is within walking distance of the Houston Grand Opera and metro to the museum & theater district - a lovely boutique hotel! TV and phone system a bit antiquated but work. There is so much to do within walking distance of the hotel that this was not really important to us.
The staff was extremely polite and courteous. The place has so much character. The gentleman out front got us a taxi within about 30 seconds of asking how to get one! The tv and stereo could use an upgrading (cassettes?). But who stays there to watch tv?
The exercise facility is so small that it is almost pointless. The showers need updating, as do other amenities like the television.
The staff greeted us warmly and even provided champagne upon our arrival. When we made it to the room it was beautiful with a great view of downtown and all the amenities we could have wanted. Even the water fixtures were stunning. It was a truly fantastic stay and I couldn't recommend it higher.
It was clean and very comfortable
This was a wonderful hotel- beautifully restored and renovated. My room was spacious and comfortable. I had read a previous review from a guest who had been disappointed by the size of the bathroom, but I did not experience this problem at all. Every aspect of my room met or exceeded my expectations and the value was exceptional. I can't think of any part of my stay that disappointed me. Honestly.
The room was clean and staff were very nice. The walls were paper thin and the door to the room was not closed tight enough to not shake and bang anytime another door was opened or closed on our floor. It kept my girlfriend and I up all night long, I finally called the front desk around 3 am and was told all they could do was extend my checkout by an hour... The free breakfast in the morning was alright but I was too tired to actually enjoy any of it. Room 501 was the loudest room I've ever slept in.
