With a stay at Greenforest Lodge in Guilin (Longsheng Various Nationalities Autonomous County), you'll be 10 minutes by car from Jin Hudingguan Scenic Spot. Featured amenities include a business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. For a surcharge, guests may use a shuttle from the airport to the hotel (available 24 hours) and a train station pick-up service.
Pros: Bed so comfortable and The view from this accommodation is superb. From the room on the top floor one can see right across the mountains - a view which is particularly spectacular at sunrise. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful which makes staying here a joy. From the hotel one can climb upwards which takes about 20 minutes and from the top here, the walk down takes about 1.5 hours, taking in the stunning scenery which includes rice fields and at the bottom is the cable car. This is an opportunity that should not be missed. The best way to travel is to ask the hotel to send your luggage down for you (a service that can be arranged for a reasonable charge) and then follow the route down the mountain which is easy to find and taking in the beauty of the mountains and the breathtaking scenery of the terraced paddy fields that they have to offer. This hotel in my opinion is the best in the area and cannot be beaten on either setting or service.
Pros: The hotel and rooms were expertly designed and decorated. Front desk manager was so helpful in arranging meals with us (bamboo chicken was great), arranging transportation to and from the hotel, and giving directions to sites. Location is good - close to two viewing points and wonderful views, especially at sunset.
Cons: Location is a bit difficult to get to - you need to take a bus to Dazhai, then get free transport via mini bus (or pay 30 RMB per person in car) to go to Tiantouzhai, then 50 rmb per car from Tiantouzhai to the hotel. Otherwise you can walk from Tiantouzhai, but it is quite steep and with luggage would be difficult
Pros: We were very lucky to see the golden rice fields at the last minute. Thank you very much to the hotel and staff. They gave us a lot of help and advice, which made it more convenient for us to travel here. The food in the hotel is also very good. We have local food and western breakfast. I was amazed by the coffee, and we were always wondering how this big guy got here. Thank you very much.
Pros: * Big, clean and superb view from the room. * Best location if you like hiking. Very close to viewpoints, 1h to Dazhai, 1h30 to the bouddha peak and 3h to Ping’An village. * Good western breakfast. * Very nice staff.
Pros: Beautiful views, good location though quite remote (1 hour drive into the valley), staff was helpful to organize everything
Cons: Quality of breakfast, general maintenance of the building and rooms
Pros: great location and staff, delicious food cook by hotel owner, service and help above expectation
Pros: The service from Wang Zai.... personal, friendly and caring!!
Pros: The receptionist was very very polite, friendly and helpful with arranging our trains and buses for our next trips. There was also another guy/bartender/cook who was also very helpful with all this. They both spoke very good english, which we found out on our trip rare. The location was perfect, directly in the middle of rice terraces.
Cons: The rooms were a little smelly, but i figured this is because the house is old, but with modern furniture. Wasn’t that much of a problem for us.
Pros: The location of hotel is amazing. You have a beautiful view from any room you take. The staff is very polite and professional, they speak English, and that is very rare for Dazhai village. I also loved the Western food and English menu they have. Sometimes you get tired of Chinese food and just need a pizza :) they make a good pizza.
Cons: The only thing I didn’t like it’s incredible thin walls and floor that makes noise. The hotel provides the earplugs for all the guests, which is good, but still on a weekend when they have many guests, it gets super noisy and not comfortable inside. Another thing, the hotel helps you to book the bus from Dazhai to Guilin. Be aware of this bus company, it’s very unprofessional. They promised to drop us at the Guilin North train station, but instead they just drop us somewhere in Guilin and we had to take 40 min taxi to our destination and we almost missed the train. Not a fault of hotel of course.
Pros: The staff was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast noodles were awesome. The view from the terrace is magnificent.
Cons: Room: There were stains on towels and carpet, the room had an overall moldy odor. The bathroom could have been better maintained. Food: Was overall ok, but nothing special. The “local hot pot with a whole chicken“ was a disappointment: pretty standard chicken broth. There was hardly any meat on the chopped up bones in the soup - even though the chef insisted it was “the whole chicken“. For all this it was a bit pricy. General: Location in the App was wrong. Staff didn't offer to pick us up at the assumed location when we called. Had to figure it out our selves.
Pros: Location 20 minutes hike from both of the viewing points. Beautiful room decor, comfortable beds, nice staff.
Cons: Would've loved to have a view of the rice terraces from the balcony and not just other houses.
Cons: Difficult to get to. Had to have luggage carried up huge hill (in the rain) by locals on their backs and pay extra for that. Room was not cleaned daily, didn’t know you have to ask for that.
Pros: It was just perfect ! They help me to join the hotel and organize a driver for me. My room was amazing. Is very central and easy to walk around the rice field! I have dîner at the hotel the food was super good. If you want to spend an amazing experience book here the staff is super helpful, nice and take care of its customers.
Pros: Beautifully located and the owners were very friendly and helpful
Pros: The staff were amazing. This is a family-run business, and I strongly recommend this hotel. The daughter met us at the bottom of the hill and the father literally carried our luggage on his back! One night, I lost my purse. It had our passports, cards, all our cash, etc. The next morning, we discovered it missing and decided we had to find a way back to Guilin to get everything situated. They restored our faith in humanity when they returned my purse with everything still inside. The father had discovered it on the bench outside the hotel that morning. Can you believe it had been there all night? My husband and I had talked there the night before-exhausted after a day of hiking the rice terraces, so that explains the state we were in. We were so amazed at their honesty and so grateful we had stayed there the entire time. Can't wait to return with friends and family hopefully in the fall next time! The summer was gorgeous!
Cons: The hotel was great! I can't think of anything negative to write.
Pros: Spotless clean. Good location. Very kind stuff. The lady of the house speaks good English and is very helpful. Good and cheap food. Best hotel in our visit in China.
Pros: The fact that it was old and authentic. May’s food was amazing and so was she.
Cons: The fact that another hotel was being allowed to be built to block the views of the rice terraces.
Pros: The family who ran the hotel. Still a place with historical buildings ( not for long) The view. The beautiful surrounding.
Cons: They are building lots of new hotels. They will spoil the view. You have to climb a lot. One of the best viewingpoints was closed.
Pros: The English speaking staff is lovely, the room huge and clean. Recommended!
Pros: Location excellent, staff fantastic showed us where to walk and arranged taxi’s. Brilliant Chinese breakfast.
Cons: Loved it all!
Longji Terrace Wood House offers accommodation featuring hardwood flooring. The property offers a restaurant and free WiFi throughout the property. It takes 4 minutes on foot to Jinkeng Terrace. Longji Terrace Scenic Area can be reached in 47 minutes by car. Each room at Longji Terrace Wood House has a clothes rack and electric blankets. The private bathroom includes a shower, slippers and free toiletries. Luggage can be stored at the 24-hour front desk. Staff at the tour desk is delighted to offer travel tips and assist with ticket service. Free laundry service is also provided. The hotel’s own restaurant opens daily, providing local cuisines.
Pros: Summer was amazing. Enthusiastic, knowledgeable, considerate and super helpful. I hanged out with him and his mate Pauline during my stay. They were easy-going and welcoming. It felt like I was traveling with friends. The location is superb. Right in the middle of the rice terraces. The view from the balcony was incredible.
Cons: The dampness of the area.
Pros: The guesthouse is a real traditional woodhouse, and has a nice terrace with a view on the ricefields (beware, not all hotels do). it is located a 5min walk from the main parking/bus station. Concerning the accomodation itself, rooms are simple but clean, with all amenities (towels, toilet paper, shampoo, etc.). I had an amazing experience in that true typical guesthouse : you will be warmly welcomed by Summer, the owner, and his family (and Hope, the funniest dog in the world). Summer invited me to have tea with him, and offered me the most delicious homemade watermelon ice-cream. I shared the meal with the family (again, amazing experience), it was absolutely delicious. Paul and his wife led us to see fireflies in the evening. We had a lot of fun chatting with Google translate, since they don't speak English that much. In the morning, they took care of my luggage and brought them to Ping'an while I was trekking. This was a fantastic human experience, and I strongly recommend this guesthouse.I wish I could have stayed more!
Cons: You should know however why you come in that guesthouse : to meet people and have great human exchanges. It is obviously a traditional woodhouse guesthouse in a small village run by locals, not a 5* hotel with jacuzzi and A/C, so manage your expectations here. There is no A/C in the rooms but fans, are it is quite OK in the summer.
Pros: This was an overall great place to stay during my 2 Day holiday. The owner (Summer) was a super generous, gracious and nice guy. Made me feel very welcome and comfortable. Place has a great view, it’s clean and has great big white fluffy dog to play with! Special thanks to Summer, Manglai and the rest of the staff. I’d recommend it for sure!
Cons: The wifi wasn’t the best but considering it’s in the country, it’s probably like that for most accommodations there.
Pros: The owner is a very welcoming man
Cons: The localization maybe wrong using some apps
Pros: Very friendly owner. Beautiful view and scenery. Good hiking location. Cute dog.
Pros: The owners don't speak a lot of English but just enough to handle important stuff and anyway they'll try to communicate with you because they're very welcoming and sweet. The location is perfect, in the middle of the rice fields and I got upgraded to a room overlooking the rice terraces, which was amazing to wake up to. Every night you'll be offered to join the dinner with the owners and other customers, for a very low price. I was also always invited for tea, to go watch fireflies and visit an authentic house inhabited by an older lady, which was a very interesting experience (all for free). I definitely recommend this place, to solo travellers, groups and families alike :)
Cons: There was nothing I didn't like about the property.
Pros: The hotel is beautiful, all in wood. The location is perfect, quiet and near all the viewpoints. Definitely recommend staying in tiantouzhai rather than in dazhai! The double room with a view i really worth it! The view is great, and the room is brighter, bathroom is nicer too. There bed was not hard and very comfortable! The usual owner/staff was on holiday, but his friend was very nice and helpful, spoke very good English.
Cons: The standard double room with bathroom we originally booked was different from the photos and didnt have western toilets. Not a big deal, but as i had a neck/back injury, it was not convenient...however, they upgraded us for free, which was super nice of them! :)
Pros: The owner is a magnificent person: kind, patient, welcoming and ready to invite the gueats to eat with him his superb meal. His thé ceremony is traditional and enjoyable, the owner will not esitate to offer it to you!
Cons: The localization may be wrong using some apps
With a stay at wanjinglou guest house in Guilin (Longsheng Various Nationalities Autonomous County), you'll be 9 minutes by car from Jin Hudingguan Scenic Spot.
Pros: It has a perfect location - the views are fantastic and it’s a short walk to see the amazing sunrise. Wong was very helpful and gave us great photo instructions to follow to reach the hotel (hour hike from Dazhai car park) and to the other viewpoints.
Cons: It was quite dirty and smelly, and overall the place is in need of an update. If it wasn’t for the location I wouldn’t have wanted to sleep there.
Pros: The location is perfect, an amazing view directly from the porch of the guesthouse. Good to see the sunrise and go straight back to bed again ha. Friendly staff, let us take a shower the last day when we left late after a hike.
Cons: They only had Chinese food options to eat, communication not the best in English, bathroom not that nice, noisy rooms.
Pros: stunning breakfast fantastic view from window
Pros: Fantastic location - ask for valley viewing rooms!!!
Pros: nice location，stunning view
Pros: The location is great for wandering the rice terraces and photo ops. Breakfast is decent and coffee is great. Food is pretty good. The think the location and friendly staff blunt guest's ratings. I'm being very fair and honest. I stayed in many Chinese hotels in 3 years and think this one needs to improve cleanliness.
Cons: Room wasn't cleaned and we stayed 3 nights. Bathroom smelled bad. Leaky faucets and poor water pressure. Walls are thin between rooms.
Pros: The view was breathtaking and the staff very kind and helpful. I deeply recommend it!
Pros: good location，nice breakfast including，so warm host with beautiful view
Pros: The personal was very friendly and helpful. They help me to find a driver to arrive to the hostel. The room views are amazing!
Cons: The bathroom in some of the rooms are Chinese. And the food was not very good.
Pros: The location.
Cons: The hotel wasn't clean and is filled with mold. We way overpaid for what the hotel offers and compared to the hotels surrounding this one. I inquired on a few others which were much cleaner and we overpaid. It was extremely dissapointing bc we chose the hotel because of the location but also how it looked online. The bathroom smelled so bad it was almost unusable. The hole in the toilet seemed to fo straight to the sewer. The whole place felt icky and needed to be powerwashed. I wouldn't stay here again and wouldn't recommend this place at all.

Pros: The Family run Hotel was the best Hotel we ever stayed in China! Beautiful rooms, nicely decorated. One of the daughters speaks fluently English and made our stay most comfortable. She gave us great information, organised transfers and even cooked wonderful (bamboo rice or also regular rice from their own field!) The Hotel is on the lower section of the village, so its only about a 5 minut walk up from the parkinglot.
Pros: Family fun guest house with a cosy feel but the facilities and look of an up class hotel. The staff couldn’t do more to help us. They did our laundry at no extra charge, woke up early to ensure we got our car to the airport and the communication from time of booking to arrival was amazing. The beds are super comfy, the view from the room unreal. Not too far to walk from the car park but feels far enough in to get the village vibe. Delicious local breakfast. I simply don’t have the words for how amazing this place is. 100% recommended.
Pros: Nice owner, she cooked delicious traditional dinner - bamboo chicken and rice. Great view from balcony, you can actually see rice terraces.
Cons: It was difficult to find cause navigation is not working properly in the city

Pros: Everything was great! Great view! Great room! Even great meal!
Cons: A little bit complicated to go in but it was worth the effort
Pros: The location is incredible, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the room was everything it needed to be. The bathroom was tiny but worked. I would stay here again if I return
Cons: The walk up was downplayed. It is a hike to get there, so although that is mentioned, be prepared for a solid hour if you are carrying your own bags.
Pros: Food was great. Staff were very helpful. Nicely away from the crowds. Big comfortable beds.
Pros: The views were extraordinairy and the staff was very helpful.
Cons: Because it is a wooden house, you could clearly hear people walking in the staircase or the room above you. Take earplugs with you!
Pros: Everything at this place was great value, including the food at the restaurant, the rooms, the view, the English speaking staff and people. All you have to make sure you do is get directions to the hostel from them prior to you getting Dazhai Village. This place provides a great local experience. There some noise due to everything being wooden. But it’s quiet at night/early morning and you can always sleep when you are dead!
Pros: Old Chinese style chalet. Cranky with charm
Cons: The location, cold and a little dark inside. Staff not really friendly
Pros: The owner did not speak english but she used a traductor. She was really nice with us, explained the trail, where are the look out, she cooked traditional plates (really good), booked a bus ticket to come back, ... When we came late, she was worry that we get lost! We enjoy our stay and i recommand this hotel.
Pros: A lovely stay with a fantastic view of the rice terraces. The personnel are some of the kindest and helpful i have encountered in China, though they don't speak English. They make lovely dinner and breakfast. They a drove us from the airport to the hotel for 150 yuan per person - I recommend this, as it is difficult getting around in the park by bus. Perfect location for experiencing the park by foot.
Cons: The walls are very thin, so you can hear everything going on in the other rooms
Pros: This family hotel is located near the top of the riceterraces at Dazhai (Tiantou village). The view from the hotel is worth the 30-40min hike. The whole family is very hospitable and helpfull. One of the daughters speaks fluent English and the father cooks delicious food. Traditional housing experience.
Cons: The accomodation has it’s age, not everything is working properly. Chinese style beds (hard), some rooms have western toilets, wooden walls (few privacy). In wintertime it’s hard to warm up inside (very common in general), but they do their utmost with electric blanket, double spread and electric heating under the tables.
