10.0 Excellent
Pros: Get away from it all! No crowds, no shops, just enjoy the countryside and views.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect hotel for our walking weekend in the mountains.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This is an outstandingly well run hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Although the village of Estacion Benaojan is nothing to write home about, the hotel has a lovely setting by a mountain stream, and the grounds have been imaginatively converted and landscaped from its original purpose as a mill. We had a superior room with a large and comfortable bed, and a balcony with a great view across the valley to the mountain on the other side. The restaurant food was excellent and there was everything at breakfast that you could possibly want. There are good walks from the hotel and nearby and it is only about 20 minutes drive to Ronda and 40 minutes to Grazalema. We will definitely return.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent dinner and breakfast. Beautiful location next to a clear flowing stream. Lovely rooms. Staff are very knowledgeable about walks in the area. Hope to be back.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is just beautiful, a little oasis of water, birds, beautiful flowers, laughter.... The room was so comfortable (with a little patio, on top of everything else!). The restaurant was just phenomenal -- I think it was the best food we had in Spain, by far (!!!!), and we had a ton of great food on our trip so that's saying a lot. And the staff and other guests are so friendly that you feel almost like family....
Cons: The only minute complaint we had was that the wifi was very slow, but that's a minor point.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was exceptional. The staff were very helpful and really friendly. The owner took the time to come round and check with everyone that everything was satisfactory. The bedroom was very comfortable with air conditioning, wi-fi, comfortable bed and a small private terrace. There were plenty of points to plug in phone, I Pad chargers etc. The bathroom was clean with choice of bath/shower or separate shower. Large white fluffy bath towels, body/hair shampoo, and hair dryer all available.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Attention to detail - fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The setting was beautiful and the atmosphere informal
Cons: Nothing, the whole place was just lovely and very relaxing

Hotel Finca Almejí - Benadalid - Building

9.0 Excellent (350 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel finca Almejí in Benadalid, you'll be 8.5 mi (13.7 km) from Castillo del Aguila and 11 mi (17.7 km) from Pileta Caves. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: A very friendly host who even carried our bags for us. A good breakfast included.
Cons: A little difficult to get to......very narrow streets with a car.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful restored mill. A real break from the norm. The lady who ran the place was super friendly and helped us sort out our travel arrangements.
Cons: The town, like many in Andalucia, is dying and if you're looking for action you are in the wrong place.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Really interesting building full of character with an old olive press inside Host was really friendly and told us of the history
Cons: The traditional village had narrow streets so you had to take care when finding the way to the hotel
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good sized rooms in a historical building. There is a communal area with an open fire which was nice. The complimentary breakfast was good too.
Cons: The room was a little bit noisy due to the corridor being quite echoey.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Loved the breakfast in front of the log fire
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Benadalid is just a small piece of miracle between the mountains and the hotel is fully part of the towns characteristics. It was a real experience to spend 3 nights in the house we loved every minute. Follow the signs of the hotel when in Benadalid do not listen to GPS as roads are really tricky. Do not miss the castle and wonder around the small streets of the really beautiful town it is still full with locals, almost no tourists just perfect if you look for an authentic place.
Cons: The parking area could have been a bit nicer but considering the town position we were happy to have a parking slot at all.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Interesting old building with lots of history Rooms individually furnished with old furniture Great views down the valley Very good food Owners welcoming, friendly and helpful
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Husband and wife staff were very accommodating and helpful. The building is beautiful with a lot of history. We loved sitting by the fire and having breakfast and dinner there. The breakfast was great and complete. Good coffee. The view from our room out to the hills is beautiful, and we were very warm in our room at night.
Cons: Can't think of anything.
6.8 Good
Pros: This hotel is a fabulous conversion of an old olive mill and has good facilities.
Cons: The access is atrocious. It's not possible to get a car to the entrance of the hotel and what was described as on site parking was in fact a piece of waste land 200 metres from the hotel. I won't be risking my car in the maze of very narrow streets to get there again!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our hosts Mari and Manual were so welcoming and knowledgeable about the history of the olive oil mill. ! We were doing a 4 day hike from Ronda and this was our 2nd day. We brought our dinner food with us and they lit a fire in the beautiful lounge...the olive oil mill! They set a table for us in front of the fireplace and we enjoyed our dinner with wine. Very special time. Our views to the valleys and mountains were sensational and we slept well. The breakfast buffet the next day was delicious. Manuel helped us get towards Gaucin to help us start our 3rd day of hiking. We would come back for a longer stay.
Finca La Rana Verde - Cortes de la Frontera - Building
4
8.9 Excellent (72 reviews)
Overview Reviews
If you are looking for a holiday away from the stresses and strains of modern life, then this is the place for you! Your apartment overlooks the swimming pool, the garden with its fruit trees and beautiful flowers and the mountains of the Serrania of Ronda. The sunsets are magnificent, the days are long and sunny and the nights are pleasantly cool even during the heat of the summer. We are just 10 minutes on foot from the village of Estacion de Cortes de la Frontera where you will find some small bars serving cheap, local food. This is not a tourist spot so you will mainly hear Spanish spoken and you will see a side of Spain that no longer exists in many other places. The pace of life is slow and relaxed and everyone always has time to stop and have a chat and a beer. It's a great place to come to unwind but you are still just 30 minutes from Ronda and just over one hour from the coast if you feel like sightseeing. We have bicycles for hire if you are feeling active and there are beautiful walks for all levels of fitness. You can take the train and stop off at one of the nearby white villages, enjoy lunch in a lovely restaurant and then hop back onto the train to come back and have a dip in the swimming pool. Generally, we find that our guests are independant travellers who like to divide their time between sightseeing and relaxing and, while they enjoy their privacy, they also like to meet other usually like-minded people from other places.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts are amazing, rooms and grounds are immaculate, very peaceful environment and you feel like you're a world away even though you are less than 10-minute walk from the train station, immediate access to hikes and mountain biking on the senderos (trails).
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Friendly hosts.Very comfy rooms.Good pool.Excellent parking.
Cons: Street lights ended 200 meters before entrance to property.Torch recommended.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hosts are really nice people. We had a fantastic stay. The location is in a rural area and that gives a special feeling staying there and gazing the stars. Plus the swimming pool really hit the spot in the morning of the day of our departure.
Cons: It might be a bit of a problem to find the place. So, it is better to download a really good sat-nav. The rest is just perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Host were great, a lovely family very helpful, the room was very clean and separated from the other entrances (very private), large property with lots of room, swimming pool and outdoor area to relax and eat.
Cons: Nothing to comment, it was a great visit we gladly recommended to anyone, so everything was very positive, no complaints from us, we could stay there again.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hosts, always ready to help.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hello Breda and Thierry, thank you for everything, for your warmth, for your uncomplicated kind, for the loving accommodation and for the time we were allowed to spend with you. We were both a bit struck, which is why we enjoyed the beautiful nature around us rather from afar, but we are sure, if we would have wanted, the two would have stay with advice and deed aside and suggest us beautiful hiking trails, horseback riding or something else. Lovely wishes Lisa and Thomas
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were helpful about picking me up from Cortes de la Frontera, and made me feel very welcome. The studio itself was pretty and comfortable, with everything you could possibly need. It has sensational views down the valley and its own terrace, which could be an idyllic place to sit in spring or summer. I was on a winter hiking holiday, and would rate the 20 km walk from Montajaque to Cortes de la Frontera as among the best day's walking I've done anywhere. The scenery is spectacular and varied.
Cons: It was January so the room was a bit chilly and took time to warm up. It would've made sense to turn the heating on earlier.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breda and Thierry were very friendly and helpful. The studio was very clean and the view amazing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were really friendly. We didn't expect to stay longer or to see anything in this place and at first sight We really didn't understand whats special about the location where the hosts lived. The true answer came when we got a talk with owners. They suggested us to do trekking path stage, starting from their home, next to river Guadiaro, continuing next to gorge of the same river. It reveals fantastic sights from hights and in the middle of path there is fantastic swimming place with crystal clear blue waters. The path ends in next Village on railway line, so you can take a ride back to Finca La Rana Verde by train. And fantastic pool in property garden too, especially in hot summer days.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The Irish owner Breda was very friendly and made me feel at home. The room was a good size, nicely decorated and modern. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was roomy, clean and had some heating which also warmed the bedroom. It wasn't the right weather to use the pool but it was very pleasant to sit in the outdoor armchair underneath shadecloth.
Cons: It would have been nice to have tea making facilities but I realise these are not widespread in Spain.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breda and Thierry were such warm and wonderful hosts and the property is beautiful - it's in such a fabulous area and really close to some of Ronda's best wildlife spots. We had quite a late check in when we arrived and they were super kind about it - very accommodating and welcoming. They very knowledgeable about the area and gave us lots of information and resources to help us make the most of our stay. They also helped set us up with coffee as there was no kettle in our room, and that was much appreciated!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: the hotel is located ideally near walking routes and the owner was very helpful. Beds very comfortable. I loved the place
Cons: I could only stay one night, but Im coming back
8.0 Excellent
Pros: This small hotel suffered massive flood damage to it’s kitchen, and can no longer offer any food. Ignore the photos of the restaurant, or indeed the interior lounge, as these areas are locked up once everyone has checked in. So you are left with a pleasant bedroom, with efficient air con, but no food or drink options. The restaurant on the road above was closed the night I was there. You can see how severe the flood was by looking at the damage to the pedestrian bridge in front of the hotel
Cons: I couldn’t get on to the WiFi in room1. I tried every permutation of the hand written password on the router, no joy. I had read reviews about no food so took my own, but no one to ask anything after 1930 was a surprise
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very interesting premises, tasty breakfast, very kind staff.
Cons: No easy to find the right place, very steep and rough road to the parking. Unfortunately no possibility to get closer to the entrance of the cave.
6.8 Good
Cons: Nobody told us that restaurant is closed before arrival. Rotting figues all over terrace.
4.5 Okay
Cons: Paid for an extra bed. Accepting it was only 20 euros, but it was only 1.7m long. My teenage daughter is 1.8m, as am I. I slept in the bed, so my wife & daughter could at least get some sleep in the two standard beds. The bed was on the floor next to a leaking radiator. The radiator dripped all night and the bed sheets ended up soaked. Very uncomfortable. Not impressed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location. Very charming with a wonderful mountain ambience.
6.8 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Cold
7.0 Good
Pros: This is a rural hotel and it is located just beside the river, it is an excellent location when looking for peace and tranquility which is what we were looking for. The lady in charge was extremely pleasant and very willing to help with anything we needed.
Cons: The hotel on your website is being sold with a restaurant, however immediately upon arrival we were told they do not have a restaurant, they only serve breakfast! Reception closes at 8pm so no possibility of sitting by the fire with a drink. The room was comfortable, however, due to floods they had had in the autumn, the heaters were not working only the aircon heating system which took a long while to heat the room and bathroom heater was not working so it was extremely cold when having a shower. To be fair we were offered a heater if the people taking the other room did not arrive. Unfortunately by the time this happened we had showered and we no longer needed it. It is a lovely hotel but it does need some tlc.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: the hotel lies alone down a very steep track by a river. Quiet and full of character
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff
Cons: Nothing

7.5 Good
Pros: Easy to find. Spacious rooms and the hosts were friendly.
Cons: No air conditioning so room was hot at night. Pool area needed attention as a bit scruffy.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The bed is awesome. Slept like a baby.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was very nice. Loved the blue color on curtains and bed and you were able to get the room completely dark for the night. Lovely hosts. Let us sit and drink our own cava, we always bring with us, on the restaurant terrace after closing. The food was excellent
Cons: The only minus was the very hot room during nighttime (we visited the hotel in August so that was expected). They provided a fan in the room but we also brought with us an additional fan but still too hot. Air condition in the room and it would be absolutely great.
6.3 Good
Pros: Comfortable and peaceful suite with good heating options - required for the rather cold and wet weekend we go. The food in the restaurant was excellent - it was eating here a couple of months ago that made us decide to book for the weekend.
Cons: Like many hotels, they have a sign in the bathroom inviting guests to place towels needing replaced in the bath and to hang up towels to be reused. On the first day we placed one very wet towel in the bath and hung up the others. When we returned from a day's cycling and walking, the wet towel had simply been hung on the rail still soaking. The second day it wouldn't have mattered what we did - no-one bothered to go in to the room. The restaurant seems to be open in the evenings for the convenience of the owners rather than the guests and we never felt very welcome to have a drink in the bar in the evening. Overall there was a rather frosty atmosphere in the hotel - we could hear the owners arguing in the kitchen at breakfast one morning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful hosts and great cooks. Homemade bread, jams etc. Great place to stay to explore the local countryside and easy to visit Ronda.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely friendly people; they even opened the restaurant for us on their day off. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced - dinner and breakfast were both excellent. Comfortable room and a good shower. A pretty little garden area which was shady and cool.
Cons: We didn't like the green "safety night light" in the bedroom. We couldn't turn it off and it was too bright for us.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Authentic local business, the owners run the place by themselves. Very friendly and welcoming reception. Nice breakfast with local produce. Wonderful surroundings. A perfect location for a day trip to Ronda.
Cons: Sound proofing of rooms is not fantastic, but this was mainly an issue due to the extremely noisy people in the room next to us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was quaint and peaceful.
Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quirky hotel in a quirky village- loved it!! Highly recommend a visit and a stay here. Breakfast was great especially the homemade marmalade.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was an unexpected treat to be in a village, away from the tourist crowds one tends to join while traveling. David and Ivan were wonderful hosts, offering much insight into the countryside and village. We had a wonderful lunch on the shaded patio and enjoyed the terrace to watch the sunset.
Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like.

Cons: Bed was not very comfy. Surcharge of 8euro per night for the dog with no extra facilities.
7.0 Good
Pros: Rustic place with an appealing country style. Friendly staff. Clean and tidy.
Cons: The heating wasn´t sufficient. It was November and the room never warmed up to a comfortable level. The breakfast was ok but not quite worth its price.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Helpful, considerate staff - The owner/barkeeper waited for me, though I arrived late and hadn't called ahead because I'd got lost hiking in a remote area. He was helpful with information about buses for the next day, and stayed on to heat up some food for me as he could see I was tired. The dorm facilities were clean and comfy with lots of hot water. Overall, the hotel seemed pretty and comfortable, with a relaxing bar/ restaurant area. It was empty when I was there in early January, but it felt like somewhere it'd be nice to revisit at a livelier time.
Cons: The dorm was cold and unheated. But I was the only guest in early Jan and arrived late so didn't ask for a heater. The owner had gone home by the time I realised how chilly it was, but he'd already stuck around waiting for me and been helpful in other ways.
