excellent stuff, excellent place... The internet connection was very poor
Wonderful hotel;Jerome and his wife and Stephanie were charming Very stylish and relaxing apart from a noisy baby by the pool Breakfast buffet was first class We will be back next year hotel should be adults only! young children can make any hotel less than relaxing
I went surfing to hossegor and my stay was really pleasant. Great staff like family and the acommodations are great.
the personal warm welcome of the owner and his staff and the location close to the village and close to the best beaches on a beautifull spot at the lake
The location - immediately on the waterside - was excellent. Bed linen and bathroom were clean. Overall enjoyment was spoiled by: filthy windows (difficult to see out until we cleaned them ourselves); grubby upholstery and surfaces; some light bulbs inoperative/ missing; curtains grubby and badly hung like rags across the window; curtain pulls inoperative; and lack of bath mat, in small bathroom with open shower area. No guest feedback slips available. Overall, poorly presented.
The staff are excellent. The beds were uncomfortable, but for the price no complaints.
The staff was friendly , great walking area along scenic pathway . Large room . Uncomfortable Beds need to upgrade , felt budget !
Beautiful, tranquil location with view over the lake. Large, airy, comfortable room, friendly and helpful staff. The shower attachment was broken and there was a leak in the dining room but both are probably temporary probems and don't detract from overall quality of hotel.
The view from the room
Pleasant and friendly staff in a nice location. The estuary view was fantastic and was great with the kids for crabbing. No
the hotel is very well located and good value at the 40€ per night that we paid, however, we would have been disappointed had we paid the full price of 60 € +
location it was in course of much needed renovation!
An item had been stolen from our room directly after having the room made up. After complaining to the front desk about this it was mysteriously returned to us the next day.
Excellent room with balcony offering views of the river. Hotel restaurant offers very good food and is reasonably priced. We were surprised at how good this hotel was for the price.
Hotel was ideally placed for a stoppover during trip through France. Dax is a beautiful old town, lots to see. Hotel was in the centre of town, great for exploring. The bonus was, my two daughters, 6 & 3 stayed in the room for free, so only paid for a twin. Hotel could possibly be updated, and i can only comment on our room, which was a little outdated, but clean. You had to pay for the parking, but there is parking nearby for free. Food and drink seemed expensive, but then where in France isn't, so not really a complaint!
Tge location and the staff
Excellent room, very light and airy, with large glazed doors on two sides opening onto spacious balcony. Staff very helpful and attentive. Breakfasts very good. Both restaurants serve delicious evening meals and are very good value. The hotel a small (free) car park, and there is plenty of free on-street parking adjacent to the hotel. Usual "French Plumbing" smells and gurgling waste pipes in bathroom. Shower doors did not fit properly so that bathroom floor became wet.
Very friendly staff, very clean, good views. The shower was poor with little water pressure.
Location Shutter a bit old bathroom had steep step up to toilet which I felt could be a potential tripping hazzard
close to sea could not get into room till 4 o clock
wonderful view on the Ocean few minutes away from harbour direct access to the beaches free and good internet access (bring your own Ethernet cable) free paking (outside) slightly understaffed so service at restaurant and bar is a bit long but staff always did their best.
The sea side and helpful personnel at reception. Bed room curtains too short and badly worn. I had to fix them with glue paste. This problem was well known by reception personnel.
The position is very good and the views excellant The fridge was completely iced up, but then again I did not expect a small kitchen.
the confort of the room and the view to the sea the indoor pool only opens at the weekends
Not a lot, maybe the view of the surfers from the balcony. The room was adequate but average. The restaurant was fully booked and we were told to find a restaurant in the town. It was cold and raining and my wife is disabled so looking for a restaurant was not fun.
That the rooms were really clean..
It is really 4 star hotel. The orchide room is excellent. The views are stunning. You can hear the waves and sand dunes. Great experience. The brekfast was fine. It's a bit difficalt to find the hotel in town. No signs. The restaraunt works for lunch till 2.00pm. - a bit strange.
We could not have dinner at the restaurant because of the big group. The reception did not tell us about it when we checked in. Fortunately there were restaurants near the hotel. My husband has a difficulty walking.
The sixe of the room and the view The staff were very solemn .and un helpful and the services were not open until the times stated.
The location, interior style and the freindly staff The broken floor panels when entering the building
Quiet location, easy to find. Modern hotel in traditional village. Offroad carparking. Restaurant with good food and continental breakfast. Lots of steps to room.
We were made to feel very welcome by the staff. The room was very comfortable and we could not hear the other guests. The breakfast was good and fairly substantial.
The location in SW France is perfect for an overnight stop. The lake opposite makes it feel more relaxed. The restaurant is new and was very good. The decoration in the rooms was poor. The light fittings broken and lights did not all work. Door locks sticky. Poor for the money
the restaurant and the outdoor area too small for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids
This hotel is ideal for a one-night stay with our family on a holiday trip to Portugal (half-way between Belgium and Portugal)
Staff Restaurant - poor selection / value
Good location. The design of the bathrooms was very poor. The shower attachment was too far from the bath, water went everywhere, which is why the surrounds of the bath were mouldy. The windows in the rooms were very small, making the room feel prison cell like. Ok for one night only...
The clean room and the nice staff The shower, the whole bathroom was wet ater taken a shower
Rapid check-in & out. A quiet location overlooking the river. Pity the room did not have air conditioning!
reception staff very polite. at time of booking in and out one of the two staff on duty spoke good english. room comfortable and clean. first impressions were good. restaurant staff spoke no English, menu was only in French, service was slow and poor. waiter forgot our water and when he did bring it his hand was over the top of the container (what happenened to basic hygiene training?)
Location to the town was excellent. The cleanliness of the room and hotel . Tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
View of the river from the apartment. Free WiFi. Free parking although limited spaces. Within easy walking distance of town. Although room had tv would have appreciated a channel like bbc News is provided by many of the French hotel chains.
I liked the situation of the hotel and the view from the hotel in the room with seaview. The cook at the hotel could do better.
The room was lovely and the view was stunning The breaskfast was poor and very expensive
Great location overlooking the sea and good size room. Main entrance and access could be improved.
Great seaviews from our room direct at the beach. There are bars with late opening hours nearby. However often the sea is louder!
The situation was good but we were not aware that a disco was held at the hotel so it became very noisy. The exterior of the hotel, particularly at the rear was dirty and untidy.
Location was perfect, room and view very good and breakfast worth having. Friendly staff and free parking Bar was disappointing and only Heineken or 1664, ie no French beers or ales. Bar area very 1970's and such a wonderful location deserves better public areas
It was conveniant for our needs No air con, room was very very hot
Good location and view at the seaside. Quite standard hotel without any highlights or complains. Time was off-season so I'd expect quite more lively atmosphere durign high seasons.
Everybody was really friendly, the beachfront amazingly beautiful and the high quality surfing facilities
The room, although in a separate building, was very nice and comfortable. The staff waited up for our late arrival.
quality of food and restaurant staff . Quality of the bed. Fantastic Roomsize. Mini elevator
not much not really
Friendly hotel staff. First impression of the building from outside.
Most of the staff spoke English, menu was very good.Rather difficult to find, road signage rather obscure but with GPS believe the guidence.
We stayed there for our wedding night and the room was clean. However there was no shower gel. No Shower gel
We were just passing through the town and slept there for one night. The room was beautifully decorated. Good value for money. Easy to find free parking. The gourmet restaurant at the hotel was closed on Sundays. Everything (shops and restaurants) are closed on Sundays in Dax.
Very clean, the room was comfy with a nice flat screen and really nice bathroom.Staff was very friendly and helpful
staff are polite and friendly, nice room, good internet, very nice restaurant (when open) and they allow dogs. The restaurant was closed, better check in advance! It's a very nice restaurant, so that was a shame. Also the parking was full.
The one nice ammenity about this place was the parking. Retirement community? We felt very out of place at this large, cavernous hotel filled with geriatric residents.
The double room was a reasonable size and centrally located in the town. Booked an air-conditioned room but room provided had no air-conditioning. Car parking was difficult to locate on arrival.
The hotel in a good location. It was very basic (no frills) but very clean and comfortable, we paid for a superior room, but it wasn't in anyway superior, so i don't know what basic rooms are like, but then it is a 2 star. Overall good for staying a couple of nights if you're more interested in the place and not too fussy about staying in a fancy hotel.
I found the staff very friendly, and the room very quiet for its location in the city center. N/A
They waited up for us, good location, simple to fiind, clean and tidy
location by lake good, food excellent restaurant closed earlier than desired
The location is fantastic. You can walk to town or directly in front of the hotel. There is a path to jog/walk around this salt water lake connected to the ocean and you can admire the scenery at low and high tide. The service is nothing to write home about. The staff is indifferent at best. The restaurant is overpriced and so are the rooms for what you get.Bathroom fixtures are cheap, towels worn out and decoration leaves to be desired.
well situated for town centre and nearby amenities, with great view of the lagoon
Great location on lake. Expensive breakfast
The view of the room to the lake was amazing. Expensive breakfast.
A very well run hotel on the edge of Hossegor Lake with beautiful views across the lake to give south west evening sun on the balconies and in the rooms. The management were particularly helpful at all times It was as described - a 3 star hotel on the edge of town & lake.
Lovely location and pleasant, comfortable fit out. Drinks on terrace in the evening a real treat. Some staff were efficient but not very friendly - perhaps the result of a long season
I wanted a hotel near the centre of Dax during the annual fair. The Acqs fitted the bill, and was convenient for the station - some of my party were leaving by train. The owner was welcoming, and the rooms were quiet. Th bathroom was decided tatty, and the hook for hanging up the showerhead was broken.
Friendly and relaxed personal. Room was clean and had all the necessarities. Good place for an overnight stay. All the noice and voice from the other rooms.
Reception and Restaurant Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Quality of food in restuarant exceptional. No tea/coffee facilities in rooms
nice little town were requested to pay up front
We were satisfied during our stay in hotel. His position from railway station is very good. No
It's very near the La Nehe thermal spring, in a non traffic street. It's clean I think they could have renewed the furniture besides the room.
The location of the hotel, the comfort and the silence.
Excellent, friendly service. The proprietors went out of their way to help us more than once. We'll definitely stay there again.
Very central but very quiet as it was in a pedestrian precinct. Easy parking nearby. Helpful staff.
Brilliant location, right by La Fontaine Chaud.
Great location in town centre. Room spacious. Staff friendly. Parking available closeby. Noise from street quite early some mornings.
The staff were incredibly helpful - we arrived on a Sunday night and just about everything was closed - we needed milk for our baby which he provided free of charge and recommended a suitable eatery close by. When we needed a taxi for an early morning ride to the train he rang around til he found someone for us - apparently difficult to achieve as small town taxi drivers don't enjoy early morning starts. The room was large enough for all of us and everything in it functioned well. The location was brilliant. A bar fridge would have been handy.
I loved everything. The situation is fabulous, the hotel staff are fab, a real treat of a visit. No
very good central location beside thermal springs.
Staff very friendly and helpful, location very central, overall good value for money. Not well insulated from outside noise (even with window closed), breakfast a little on the sparse side (1/4 of a baguette and a croissant)
easy comfort chair missing from room. Had to sit on the bed or a hard wood dining chair. no good for 10 day stay!
free wi-fi, location, clean room, friendly staff breakfast: no enough food for everyone, dirty cups, sour milk - the hotel is great just don't have breakfast there.
Excellent location by the lake. Very pleasant staff. Good food. Although the food was excellent the menu becomes limited after a few days.
The location is outstanding and the hotel first class, including gourmet food. At the sea side with the calm of the countryside.
The location, close to seaside, but with nice views over large lake.Good size balcony, comfortable bed.friendly staff led by working owners. no
The staff very nice- service excellent Hotel needs a makeover- a bit faded
nice location no
A very well run hotel with good food attractively priced. Good loaction.
The lack of formality, and breakfast and dinner included in our room rent. Can not think of anything.
The special offer at a very low price offered value for money. The room and corridors smelt a little damp and musty, but the weather was wet.The swimming pool , which is the first thing you see was green and badly maintained.
