Location and value for money
Very friendly staff, very comfortable, excellent location close to the railway station and very quiet even though overlooking the square. Nothing
Great location, especially for the proximity to the new Pompidou Museum. Very friendly and responsive people at the reception. Tasty breakfast buffet.
Spacious and comfortable rom, free streetside parking (19.00 - 09.00), free wireless internet access, city centre location (by railway station ... walking distance to shops, city centre etc.) Breakfast was basic but ok. Hotel is an old building and bathrooms/fittings are in need of refurbishment/modernisation. Overall no complaints ... would stay there again as it was reasonable value for money. Would have preferred a greater choice of restaurants close by, but we arrived later than planned to have researched more.
We stayed at Alerion for 6 nights, everything was perfect. The location is perfect, the staff is so nice and helpfull, even that some of them dón't speak English, the breakfast is very nice, the room was very comfortable and clean and the view from our room was magical! If I go in Metz again, for shure I will stay at Alerion! We had some problems with the shower, was broken!
Staff cheerful and helpful; the view from our room of the famous train station absolutely stunning; value for money hard to beat. Alerion will be our first choice on our next trip to Metz.
Very helpful service, excellent value and good discount arrangement with very nice restaurant nearby No
Excellent, courteous, attentive staff. They could not have been more helpful. Very clean. Good continental breakfast.Very handy for station and rest of town, Interior decor a bit garish - a very minor point.
The service was lovely and the location was perfect. The bathroom was a little small, but for the price in France we were happy.
Place and price the fact they propose breakfast in the room and when you ask for it they try to convince you to not take it because it is more expensive and you would have more choice on breakfast room! So why proposing breakfast in room? on op o it the choice in breakfast room was very poor
This hotel offered a room for a great price and in a great location in Metz, the staff spoke good English and were very helpful. The double room was very small but perfectly acceptable for the great price. The quad room was a great deal. The elevator is so small only one person with baggage could fit at a time, so if you have 4 people with you...
Good location The rooms were very small & very uncomfortable, The pillows were a joke, & i have never stayed in a hotel where a towel could cut your face as it was that hard & that old. I would not reccomend anybody to stay in this hotel, the breakfast was very over priced for what you get....next to nothing
The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The room was warm and the shower was great. There was no kettle or brew facilities in the room. I had to buy one.
Staff very helpful. Hotel clean and tidy. Good location with secure parking. Quite noisy in rooms at the front of the hotel. Lack of air conditioning meant having to have the windows open.
The location was excellent, close to the railway station and reasonably-priced parking house was acrosshte sreet. The hotel was clean, the staff not only polite but very active to take contact and give advise for day trips and events. The rooms was unique, and quiet, bathroom clean and in good condition. The breakfast was excellent too No negative aspects found
Close proximity to station, friendly helpful staff and cleanliness of hotel
Cleanliness of the room
Loved the location and the fact there is two double beds in a twin room!
Elevator, noise of hotel's repair works at early morning
Comfortable beds, clean and affordable. Secure car park. Excellent stopping point on our journey to italy Limited affordable local eating facilities in the evening for a young family.
Good overnight hotel when travelling. Comfortable and adequate room and facilities. Poor breakfast aside, hotel was good value for money. Breakfast was nothing special. Awful machine coffee!
Good location when travelling south - north (7hrs from North Italy) - secure parking but clear the back of the car - good standard of room with wifi(free) - value for money. Set in a "theme" park area - good if you have kids but might be noisy at weekends.
Excellent value, great location for zoo, Galaxie concert venue, Restaurants, Cinema,
For business - location - price & Internet - reception very pleasant (which is an improvement)
Arriving late was not a problem due to the automated system by the gate. Breakfast was limited to a few basic items.
It was a stop off on a return journey and as such it provided a good, warm, clean room anwhich was, luckily enough, on the ground floor. The wifi connection was good and easy to log onto enabling us to listen to Radio 4. As the second of this chain we have stayed in, I was surprised that the showerhead attachment point was broken so it had to be used handheld when a small amount of work could have fixed it. We arrived in time to walk around the area, which was good because the lack of lighting would have made things very difficult. Also as it was a Monday a lot of the restaurants were closed. More information on this at the hotel would have helped.A convenient place to stay but not one I would have chosen due to theme park feeling of the area.
Clean rooms, enough parking places, nice reception, good breakfast. Just good!
Budget price, not far from some major cities. Broken additional bed, the staff lacks english speaking skills, the breakfast is a bit steep for what they have to offer.
Good value and good availability of restaurants. Great choice for an overnight stop on a road trip.
The hotel was clean and the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant.
It is very well placed, close the train station. The personal was very kind and the breakfast very well served.
very friendly and helpful staff
Basic hotel which was clean. Staff friendly. Good location for station, town and arena. Breakfast expensive for what was available.
The friendly staff I had not been aware that there was no available car parking and that I had to park at the station carpark some distance away
very friendly staff, nice rooms with convenient beds, good breakfast
The Hotel was near to the station. The Hotel was far more basic than I thought it would be and the decor was ancient, needs modernising.
The location was easy to drive to and had excellent access to the places of interest. Typical hard European beds.
Very central hotel, adjacent to the cathedral. The room was very well appointed and comfortable with big bed and excellent bathroom. The staff spoke excellent english and were courtious.
Location and staff No bar
Staff were extremely accomodating and helpful. The rooms were nice size and clean. Was pleasant
The friendliness of the staff and the very clean and recently renovated room. Good location in the city centre. Excellent value for money for an overnight stop.
no tea and coffee facilities in the rooms
Very convenient for the town and very helpful staff. Free secure storage for our bikes.
Good location in town. Very secure parking!! Fine for a one night stopover. Helpfull staff Rooms basic. Breakfast unimpressive. Parking a little on the tight side
flexibility of staff as we had to stay longer than anticipated they worked hard to accomodate our situation
Welcoming reception staff. Ideal location for train station and city centre. Could do with coffee making facilities in room.
friendly helpful staff no tea/coffee making facilities in room
Location well within walking distance from train station (10 minutes max). Rooms are old and need some work but for international travelers who need a place to just sleep, good value for your money. Hotel offers a breakfast for 6.50 Euros that includes three pastries, orange juice and coffee to start your morning off. Good value for your money considering a coffee normally costs 5-6 Euros. Would stay here again simply because of its location and cheap price if you can consider 100 dollars Canadian being cheap. Rooms need some work and tender loving care.
Proximity to train station, to good running felt a little Soviet
The desk staff were extremely accommodating in answering our questions, showing us things on the map, etc.
The decor could do with updating but all the facilities were clean. The beds were comfortable and there was fresh continental breakfast. I would rate this Hotel as excellent value for money. It wo uld take an immense amount of money to bring this Hotel up to date decor wise.
Staff was fine It's too expensive for something worse than a hostel. For budget travellers who don't need a private restroom, I recommend not to book via internet. There were chepaer rooms (w/ shared restrooms) cheaper and there were other hotels in the area also cheaper.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating
That it was close to the center
Nothing Bad area with a bar next to the hotel. Room not clean especialy the bathroom. Noisy hotel.
The best thing about the hotel was the location, near the shopping center and train station. The room was not comforting at all , everything was old and dirty.
The staff was very friendly and welcoming, the breakfast ok, the location very good because it´s near to city centre and Centre Pompidou
the comfort of the rooms, location. Hard to find it.
the staff were extremely helpful, attentive and cheerful, I cannot praise them enough I think the rooms could definitely do with a freshen up
Food was fair. No night life nearby
Nothing Staff was very unfriendly, room was not cleaned properly, air conditioning did not work, shower had mold, bathroom soap, comb, toothbrush animities was very poor quality. Restaurant food was very over priced and the food was not eatable. Grounds were in a very poor condition--grass not mowed, beer bottles on the grounds. Staff in the restaurant was extremely poor. One lady with long curly hair only walk between the front of the restaurant and the kitchen. She did nothing. After waiting a very long time for our food, the food tasted so awful we couldn't eat. Staff did not offer to discount the price of the food nor provide something else. We mentioned these problems when we checkout the next morning but the reception staff only stare
large rooms - good bus service to city center - nice swimming pool
lovely big rooms no, it was good all round
Nice big room, big comfortable bed, good breakfast buffet
Front desk staff was very helpful and friendly
Great location for parents of Supelec or Georgia Tech Lorraine students. They charged 8 euros for 2 cups of coffee and the internet did not work well.
Very little Dirty, tired room.Extremely rude and racist restaurant manager. Food totally inedible. Many others complaing. Will never use again or recommend.
location, value for money room and bathroom size
The professionalism and friendly of all staff The shortage of room space
Relatively comfortable room, quiet, hotel not too difficult to find despite blocked road which did not permit access following GPS instructions A clean room should not have rests of potato crisps beside the bed, it did rather put me off
location next to large pedestrianised city centre, withgood facilities towalk around. Parking a big hassle. Most staff rather dour.Room and shower compact-but not costly.Domestics repeatedly invaded room next morning as we were packing up,well before checkout time.Restaurant was shut, but plenty to look at nearby.
Nice Staff Restaurant hours. They were closed the whole time.
Very convenient location for town centre and the underground car park was good as parking in Metz is a nightmare Can hear neighbours and the hallways echo.
It was very close to the city centre.
Nice hotel staff, clean and well located. The beds are too soft.
The breakfast buffet was excellent and the linen was clean. The hotel was walking distance to the centre. The bathroom was not very clean and I would not use the hairdryer because it was dirty, with mildew inside the hose. The shower was small and an awkward shape. Also the rooms that faced the street are subject to a lot of street noise, even with the window shut. Overnight parking at the large parking lot in front of the hospital was very expensive (not the hotel's fault) so if possible find another alternative.
Easy access to town.
beautifully situated, excellent restaurant, good breakfastbuffet, clean rooms with reasonable matras (could have been a little harder), free wifi no place to put your things in the bathroom, outrageous prices for drinks in the bar: €10 for 5cl JB is way to much.
Easy to find, close to the motorway junction but not affected by traffic noise. Small room with very small double bed ( 4 feet wide). Restauant closed on bank holiday (not mentioned when booking was made). Staff at check in disinterested.
Nice convenient location along highway from France to the Netherlands and vv. Pleasant and quiet location for stopover.
I forgot my pyjamas. I stopped, on my return journey. They were found without problems! Thankyou No dinning room facilities open on Sunday night. There should be at least one eating option available in the hotel
Typically for a Campanille located out of a centre, but Woippy is within easy reach of motorways, supermarket and village of Woippy. Excellent value.
the room was not suitable for three adults as stated. the towels were grey. all facilities were only for two people, had to ask for 3rd towel. . breakfast was very poor, having to ask for more juice, rolls etc. have stayed in campaniles before and service been fine, this one wasn't.
Friendly staff, resteraunt on site Nothing
It is right off the high way. room is kind of old and bed squicks.
Convenient for the motorway. Quality of food was very poor by Campanile standards.
Rooms spacious and the restaurant "sur place" I don't eat very much at breakfast, so I felt that 8 euros for breakfast was too much (for those of us who just want a coffee).
We have stayed at Campanile Hotels many times. Usually excellent staff and facilities. The Woippy staff appeared disinterested the food was below average and the room heaters did not function. Tere were only 2 small pillows. We stayed twice on our outward and return journey and were told initially that we could not stay at the Campanile on our return trip, and we would be booked in at another Hotel. We were later told that we could stay at the Campanile. We asked to see the wine list (I speak reasonable French) and were brought a bottle of red and white without other choice Seemed to be in need of re decoration
Good Breakfast facilities Convenience with the centre of Metz - Cathedral/shops Limited local information with Reception staff
Helpful staff, availability of garage, quiet location but close to cathedral, restaurants and shops, kettle in room.
The location was first class, the reception and cleaning staff were helpful. The room was really clean. Arrived mid afternoon and given a room not ready, given another room straight away. This room looked second rate with some peeling wallpaper. The rooms at the front of the hotel are noisy from the street below. But I would give this hotel a second chance (if I had a room at the rear).
Great location. Very quiet. Decent breakfast as compared to other European hotels. Could feel the springs of the mattress. Very thin pillows. In spite of those problems, I could sleep OK.
Convenience to local city facilities and reasonable breakfast choices. Also late availability of breakfast. Room was very dated in decor and comfort (1980's?). The was no hand washing basin in toilet and no ventilation. Room turned out to be noisy with rowdy street noise throughout the night and continuing with traffic noise from 6am. Beds were not particularly comfortable.
Good location Hard to find while driving. Poorly marked.
Good location and nice breakfast.
Its location in centre of Metz too simple breakfast: expected more and better organization for Eur 11.00 p.p.
The hotel was located in the center of the old town very close to the cathedral and was great for exploring.
sheets stinks, room unclean, stinking, stinking ... my first hotel tragedy.
Breakfast buffet, we were pleasantly surprised after the rest of the experience there. Location. Room minute, no wardrobe nor drawers. Some staff unhelpful some rude except one who was good, Their own website was misleading.
Staff were friendly and food was good in the restaurant and good value.
good size room, good price, good breakfast, overall very happy, not somewhere you would want to stay for a weeks holiday but ideal for an overnight stop could have been sign posted a bit better, glad we had sat nav! even then we drove straight past it the first time.
Breakfast orange juice was very good The area it was in
Not difficult to find for travellers, clean and good value for money.
Was clean and tidy no frills good breakfast but nothing to do in the location of hotel
Efficient Staff - value for money for Motorway Stopover Budget overnight stop and efficent staff
it was clean and inexpensive. The desk clerk was friendly and helpful. Room was small; amenities bare bones, although probably in line with the price. It was not as convenient to the autoroute as we had expected, and which was the reason we chose this hotel over a more expensive one in the center of the city.
smell of smoke in the room
We requested an electric kettle in the room and this was readily provided. There was some tea and coffee provided in the lounge during the day although the quality was fair, but it was a nice touch.
Location in the center of a beautiful city. Adjacent to the Cathedral and Museum. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean rooms, good breakfast. The difficulty in driving to the front entrance to drop luggage.
it was very close to the railway station and city center. it had good breakfast. no
big and comfortable room, hotel staff are friendly and helpful Bathroom has to be refreshed
Very good location, nice room, breakfast is basic but for that price (free) was very good. Very helpful and nice hotel personel. We had to change our room twice (we stayed there for one night). In the first room electrecity didn't work, the second one was smoking room. Finally we get very nice room.
The family room was very comfortable and we liked very much the idea of giving priority to families with kids. Excelent idea. We asked in the lobby about how to get to city centre and the lady there told us very poor information just to get rid of us quickly. We had to ask people in the street.
Location and parkingfacilities are veryy good. We enjoyed the fresh orange juice for breakfast!
Small room but very comfortable, clean, large bathroom for such a small room.Good value for the cost. none
I didn't have to pay. When I came back to the hotel after dinner, the door to my room didn't open. The manager found no appropriate cardkey. Finally I had to sleep in a different room while all my stuff was in the other one. Very bad experience!
A major investment made to modernise the interior of an elegant old structure. Result is mostly successful ( although already starting to fray at the edges). Overall good value and well situated. But be careful of Saturday nights when a (non related) club in an adjoining basement does disco into the early morning and sets the entire structure throbing!
Position. Metz is a great City. Had the choice of rooms which were a little dated but clean and adequate
Location excellent for visiting the Cathedral and other main sights. Excellent view over the Port du Saint Marcel. Room decor was slightly shabby (i.e. frayed wallpaper, etc.) & in need of updating.
The location was fantastic for Historic Metz. The staff were outstanding and very accomodating. The decor in hallways and rooms could be updated...looks dated and dingy. Breakfast room and lounge were very nice.
The hotel was in an excellent position. It was within easy walking distance of the shops but far enough away to enjoy the ambiance of an old town. There were many restaurants to choose from in close proximity. It was not easy to access the internet.
use of pool
central position, nice lobby Room is in need of decoration (carpet hanging down) and is pretty small for the price. We requested a travel cot and were told it would be in our room but when we got there it wasn't.When we then asked again for one, nobody was able to build one up for us. We were even asked to go down to reception to exchange the one we had and wasn't working for another one ourselves because the receptionist was the only person working at that time and she was busy. She did come up to our room in the end but couldn't manage to build any of the two existing beds up. In the end our daughter had to sleep on a big mattress on the floor because we were worried she would roll out of the big bed without side protection. We weren't charged for it though at least.
Situated in a beautiful part of the city, secure parking included. Very comfortable hotel with multilingual staff who were very courteous and helpful. Surrounding area has a number of restaurants
Well located (2 min to station) + numerous brasseries & restaurants withing easy walking distance, friendly & helpful staff + knowledgable. Newly decorated. Basic continental breakfast (but plentiful buffet style).Town centre 10 min stroll away.
Considering the proximity with the train station, which in other places may be a disadvantage, in Metz turns to be a very nice spot, having just in front that beautiful train station and the very nice post office building. I went there to visit friends in Metz so went to bed very late and next morning at 10:00am there were no longer breakfast service; not nice. Is true that this is indicated in the www, but anyway,.....
The hotel is very centrally located, near shops and restaurants, and just across place de Gaulle from the railway station. There is public car-parking nearby.
Just opposite the train station. The room was quiet and had satellite TV with an English-speaking channel. Staff were helpful. The staff screwed up about the agreed price when I checked out. But the problem was fixed shortly.
The location of the hotel in Metz was very good for everything we wanted to do especially being right opposite the railway station
This hotel was very conveniently located for us as it was directly opposite the Metz main rail station. This Two Star Hotel lived up to it's stated rating. The additional breakfast was basic but adequate but the inclusion of free high-speed wifi internet was a bonus. The website stated that this was at additional cost but it turned out to be free. Conveniently located adjacent to the Metz main rail station and only a short 10-15 minutes walk to the main shopping centre and tourist attractions, this hotel met our needs.
Hotel's proximity to the train station; competitive rates; friendly staff; clean rooms; abundance of information.
The hotel was close to the city center and very close to the train station. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The hotel was also very safe. The only thing we didn't like about our room is that the street noise was quite loud sometimes (mostly in the morning). Other than that, there was nothing to complain about.
Decoration..Staff should speak English.
The staff were very helpful. I was able to check in quite early in the afternoon (the receptionist telephoned the cleaner on a mobile telephone to check that my room was ready.) The room was large, comfortable and clean, overlooking the square in front of the railway station. Storage was provided for my bicycle. Breakfast was an 'all you can eat' buffet breakfast, and in the breakfast room there is a tropical fish tank and calm 'piped' music at low volume (e.g. Elgar's 'Nimrod'). There are potted plants which add to the sense of tranquillity and grandeur in this city centre hotel. In the stairwell on the first floor there is a cage with some budgerigars, over which they put a sheet at night to help them sleep.
