The room and bathroom were spacious and comfortable. One night we had dinner at the hotel along with the other guests which was nice after a long day exploring, the meal was delicious. After a long day of exploring Mont St Michel we came back and enjoyed a nice swim in the pool. Everything about this property was perfect!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: breakfast was good. location was good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a very good time. The room was clean and good sized. Sonia was very nice and welcoming. Breakfast was lovely - fresh croissants, baguette and crepes. Cheese, butter, jam and orange juice. Coffee was plentiful and tasty. View of Mont St. Michel out the window (looking to the right). We ate dinner at the downstairs outside restaurant run by the family the night we stayed there (not included in the price - we could have eaten anywhere) and really enjoyed the dinner. Prices good, simple and tasty meal.
Cons: My 87 year old mother wasn't able to make the trip. If she had, she would have had a hard time walking up the two flights of stairs to the bedroom (the second one is a bit steep). We (three of us in our 60s) were fine.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very rich! And the host was very nice! She also put a fan in rhe room wich was very helpful because it was very hot outside.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This property was a good location in relation to Mont St. Michel - about a 10 minute drive. The room, including the bathroom, was spacious and completely adequate. Our host was very friendly and accommodating. We arrived before the allocated check-in time, but allowed us to leave our items, which was very helpful. Breakfast was fine - nothing special, but OK.
Cons: I really have no complaints - this property is 'as advertised'. Just be aware, this is out in the country and there are some farm animals, so you will be awakened by a rooster early in the morning!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfortable room in a pleasant hotel close to Mont Saint Michel. Dinner available at the hotel. Very friendly hosts.
Auberge Du Terroir - Servon - Building

This hotel is located in the countryside village of Servon, 8 km from the Mont Saint-Michel. Set in a 18th-century house, it offers a large garden and charming rooms with TV. The Auberge Du Terroir’s restaurant provides daily breakfast and gastronomic cuisine prepared with local products from Normandy. Meals are served in the cosy dining room with fireplace. Free Wi-Fi access and free private parking are available on site. Hotel Du Terroir is just 11 km from Pontorson Station, 53 km from Saint-Malo and 70 km from Rennes.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Charming B&B very near Mont Saint Michel. We ate a wonderful dinner and breakfast while there. Great wine and cheese also. The village is small and quaint. The grounds are just as pictured on the site - actually more beautiful in person. Room and bathroom were large - by American standards. Perfect place to rest and recharge.
Cons: Our bed was a little old and lumpy - but we both agreed it felt like we were sleeping at our grandmothers house so we were fine with it..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food was devine, service was excellent, room was impeccable.
Cons: No English TV Channel but no big deal.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had a delicious meal and a very comfortable stay
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful peaceful escape from nearby touristy attraction Mont Saint Michel, it was like taking a breath of fresh air as soon as we arrived. The dining room was perfectly French and we enjoyed a simple, fresh and delicious meal. The salad had been freshly picked from the owners kitchen garden, everything felt local, seasonal and thoughtfully prepared. The perfect stop over whilst driving through Normandy.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I arrived expecting a road-side auberge off the N175, but found a delightful secluded [but only half a kilometre from the main road] oasis with buildings around a courtyard and private car park. The restaurant and some rooms are in one building and more rooms and a sitting room in another, only 50m apart. Parking is very private and safe. Annie checked us in and was most helpful. She easily filled in for my poor French with her OK English. We had booked dinner, which is essential as the restaurant is very small. Two couples were turned away when we were there. The food was very good as befits a ‘bib gourmand’ Michelin restaurant. Wonderful butter, superb camembert, local calvados. The service seemed slow to our city ways but we soon realised it was steady, and everything came eventually in good time. The whole place is very French, tout confort, in a traditional style, and perfect for being so [though wifi is included]. Clean, fresh and airy with lovely gardens to the rear. This was the perfect stop after 2 hours drive from Cherbourg, and would work just as well going the other way. Convenient for Le Mont St Michel. Highly recommended. Tres calme, tres tranquille. High quality continental breakfast too.
Cons: Everything was fine for the price point - it was excellent value. It is traditionally French, and I stayed at similar places in the 1970s. Apart from wifi, and the fact that bidets seem to have disappeared, nothing much has changed. Which is fine by me.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The dinner at the restaurant was marvelous! And the rooms were cozy and all around wonderful.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant and efficient owners of a lovely restaurant and small hotel in a quiet village in the Mont St. Michel area.
Cons: Nothing. All was as expected.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The place is really nice. The staff was amazing. It's really clean and quiet. They have private parking and a beautiful garden where you can relax. Definitely would reccomend a stay here if you like tranquility. The breakfast was ok. Dinner was really nice and the wine amazing.
Cons: The bed mattress was a bit uncomfortable.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We booked the Auberge for the last night of our holiday in Brittany and Normandy, based on the excellent ratings. We arrived mid-afternoon on a very hot day. Madame (Annie) greeted us and let us choose our room. Once settled in, we sat outside and her husband Thierry brought us ice-cold cider - wonderful. The dinner we had was exceptional - we both selected the 44 Euro menu, which was foie gras, fillet of beef, cheese selection and delicious dessert. It was preceded with an amuse bouche with a Kir and cider cocktail and Annie chose the wine for the main meal for us at our request. My husband had a different starter of finely sliced Parma-Style ham with salad and apples. Everything was divine - best fillet steak ever. The ambience of the property and the beautiful restaurant (which only holds about 20 max) was wonderful. The gardens are exquisite and maintained by Annie. The rooms are cool and spacious with comfortable beds.
Cons: There was liquid soap and shampoo, but no body wash - nothing we couldn't get round. Also the breakfast was a little boring - coffee (excellent), juice, baguettes and croissants and conserves. However, when I asked for cheese, it was kindly provided.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic evening meal in a wonderful french country house atmosphere. Homely and welcoming and away and a complete contrast to the hectic atmosphere at Mt St Michel.
Cons: None

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very good location. The owner Martine is very nice and the house is very pretty.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hostess was super nice and came out to greet you upon arrival. She let us pet her dog and she was keen on giving us as much information as possible, both regarding the room and facilities, as well as the village we were located in. The b&b was located with beautiful surroundings so it was a great place to take walks in the evening. Great parking at the b&b. The room was big and comfortable and the private bathroom the same.
Cons: The shower was scolding hot, but maybe we didn’t find where to adjust it. The bed was a bit small for two people, but ok. The breakfast was very French in the way that you didn’t stay full for very long.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ambience and hospitality. Breakfast was very good and contained local typical items.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very authentic place Martine is very friendly and a great host. Everything is like in the description. We enjoyed our stay.

Pros: The breakfast and the view
Cons: No restaurant or bar in the village
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Modern style, clean and very friendly staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is great. It's about 15-20 minutes drive from the Mont Saint Michel carpark but it's an easy drive and the property didn't disappoint with a view of Mont Saint Michel from the bedroom window. It was fantastic and I was able to take lots of sunset photos. The room was a decent size with a reasonable size bathroom for Europe. It was spotlessly clean and modern. The bed was comfortable and there was a desk with a chair as well. The receptionist was welcoming and helpful and the variety at breakfast was great. I would definitely recommend Aux Chambres du Mont.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place 5 KM from Mont St Michel, we walked there not knowing there wasn't taxi or other mode of transport to get there. The hotel staff was super nice even with limited English, they drove us back to Mont St Michel the following day.
Cons: I can't really think of anything negative.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A modern little hotel in a small village. Perfect countryside location for a cyclist on tour and to visit the M-S-M. Also, the bonus of the other historical monument right nearby which I hadn't known about. No shops in the little village as far as I could tell, but a mile or so away are farm restaurants by the side of the road offering grilled steaks for outdoor lunch/dinner - do not miss! A great stay in beautiful Normandy.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The window view is wonderfull.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet and nice view of Mt Saint Michel from the room.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: This place has exactly what it says - a lovely view of Mont St Michel in the distance, over open fields with horses. Very relaxing to look at. The place had all facilities needed. Price was acceptable. And staying this close allows you to get to Mont St Michel before the tour group buses arrive, and M-S-M is a spectacular place to visit.
Cons: Obviously this is in a very small community, and you will have to drive elsewhere for supermarkets, restaurants and nightclubbing. The town of Pontorson is 7km away and has all the above (OK, I didn't actually check the nightclubbing).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a fantastic location, the staff were fabulous. The view from the room was exactly what it showed. It was hot and a fan was provided. The bed was excellent and the room was very clean. The local restaurants were very good for an evening meal. Breakfast was amazing. I loved everything about this B&B!

Pros: Excellent restaurant with wide ranging choice of food and wines. Lamb and beef were superb as was Chateau Cardinal recommended by the proprietress. Bed super comfortable. Pros: Everything. The owner was so lovely. Arranged a lift to the nearest restaurant for us because their restaurant is closed Sunday and Monday. The bed was amazing. The bathroom lovely and breakfast was a treat. Seriously considered staying a week! Thank you Aline!
Cons: Having to leave.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Quiet village location just 5 minutes from the Motorway at Avranches, comfortable & clean with nice breakfast on terrace overlooking the garden; friendly & pleasant staff.
Cons: We stayed on a Sunday evening, so the restaurant wasn't open and although we were recommended to try a couple in nearby villages, they couldn't accommodate us at the right time, so we ended up in a dreadful chain restaurant by the motorway. Needless to say, none of this reflects poorly on our hotel!

Cons: Not a problem in any way - could not fault any aspect in our stay

Cons: The restaurant was close and to have dinner we needed to take the car and drive for 5kms,which is not far but a bit uncomfortable with a small baby.

Pros: Peaceful and comfortable ample breakfast and accomodating hosts. Great view of Mont St Michel across the fields and for those who like to walk within reasonable distance on foot.
Cons: Nothing to speak of
6.3 Good
Pros: The location is near Saint Michel, however the bedroom doesn’t have view. It’s a house of someone and they don’t let you comfortable to use other spaces.
Cons: The staff is not friendly. You can use other parts of house. The time for checkin and check are bad and very strict.
7.1 Good
Pros: The breakfast was good. The location very good.
Cons: The staff called us a few hours before our arrival and yelled at us for being late. That was extremely unpleasant and unprofessional. We were very apprehensive about our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff super friendly, you can rent bikes there and breakfast was quite good.
7.5 Good
Pros: The room was fine, the breakfast terrific! Also really loved the shutter blinds as they did a terrific job of blocking out the light. (We were exhausted and needed to sleep!) Beautiful view of the abbey! We did get a good night sleep and then awoke to a fantastic breakfast! Alice was very accommodating and helpful.
Cons: No TV in bedroom and would have preferred being able to check in in the afternoon vs 6pm. There was no hand soap, but the host gave us her soap dispenser, so problem solved. Maybe shampoo in the shower? No toiletries is perhaps a European thing, but not sure as we had them in Paris.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was fantastic! Location is perfect and the size of the rooms and bathrooms were superb!
Cons: Only 2 bad things to say - WiFi is very poor. Perhaps was just our room and the owner did apologise for this. Also there is no air-conditioning which we understand the owner does not have, but people staying should be aware it DOES get hot and stuffy in the rooms and there are no fly screens on the windows.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I can't say enough about how great it was to stay at La Maison d'Isaphil. As 2 travel weary Americans touring the French countryside , I can't say enough about the hospitality of Isabel and Philipe. Meeting Isabel and Philipe and their hospitality became a highlight of our trip to France. Their home was beautiful and perfectly arranged so that we had our privacy but yet felt the comforts of staying at a home versus a corporate hotel. One of the highlights of our trip was having a fresh French breakfast and meeting the other guests for great conversation. In our case we met a nice English and Australian couple and we would discuss each others adventures and experiences in the French countryside. The fruit was handpicked from their very own garden and was fresh and delicious. Saint James is also very centrally located for day trips to the surrounding towns in the Brittany area, especially the Brittany-American Military Cemetery and the Abbey at Saint Michel. If you are seeking a quiet bed and breakfast I would highly recommend staying at La Maison d'Isaphil
Cons: Everything was perfect! We enjoyed staying here and meeting Isabel and Philipe so much that I consider them friends and hope to meet them again!

Pros: Staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Our evening meal was very good and the service excellent. There appeared to be plenty of parking spaces. The hotel is just a short walk into the town centre where you can find the remains of a castle and some lovely winding streets. We only had one night here and did not have time to explore the cathedral. The hotel is in a great location for visiting Mont Saint Michel which is about 30 minutes away. We would definitely use this as a base again.

7.5 Good
Pros: Great location in Avranches, with a short walk to the wonderful Scriptorium, containing precious records of Le Mont San Michel. . Easy parking out the back. Lovely garden and nice views from the bedroom.
Cons: We stayed upstairs and my very tall husband banged his head a number of times on the sloping ceiling,
5.4 Okay
Pros: Location and dog friendly
Cons: Cleanliness was poor, food average for the money The carpets bed and bathroom were dirty and wiped over rather than cleaned Whilst dog friendly the room smelled of dogs!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant was superb and strongly recommend all guests should experience it!
Cons: Would have personally preferred freshly made coffee and tea at breakfast rather than machine
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location and cleanliness plus very efficient personnel, although lacking in conviviality.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location is good for Mont Saint Michel and the garden is nice to sit out in.
Cons: Grubby, old decor (apparently their idea of budget really IS budget here), over-priced considering that breakfast was not included, WiFi very poor in the room block at the end of the garden and staff looked down their noses at us (we were below apparent minimum age of 70). They did not care if we were happy or if our stay had been good.
