Pros: Hosts are amazing
Cons: Nothing all great
Pros: Fred and Wendy were fantastic hosts and the hotel was absolutely amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel very welcome indeed. The food was delicious as were the drinks. A brilliant hotel and we plan to return next year :)
Cons: I could not find fault with anything. The hotel was absolutely perfect as were our kind hosts - Fred and Wendy.
Pros: Pleasant atmosphere, cozy rooms, very comfortable beds, ease of parking a car. Wendy and Fred are doing fantastic job, feels like home, real nice atmosphere. We had amazing dinner and breakfast, awesome food. It was a very pleasant stay.
Pros: Spacious room with themed décor and a very comfortable bed. Large bathroom also in the theme. Wendy and Fred very hospitable hosts who spoke good English. Delicious evening meal
Pros: Very friendly owners, made us feel relaxed and showed us to our room. Gave us the option of eating in their restaurant which was pretty handy as it is the only one around! Very friendly and great interaction with us throughout our stay. Food in the restaurant was great.
Cons: Hotel is off the beaten track in terms of the proximity to the autoroute but well worth a visit. Not much in Jumeaux itself.
Pros: Good location not far from the motorway with great hosts who couldn't have done more to make us welcome. Quiet surroundings once the traffic had subsided. Potential for using as a base to explore the area. Good food.
Cons: Smallish room - but you don't see much when you are asleep!
Pros: It was a very pleasant stay. Our hosts were very nice and friendly. The dinner and the breakfast were wonderful, home made with local products. Thank's again Wendy and Fred!
Pros: If you are looking for a hotel in this area stay here. Comfortable. Spotlessly clean room, with a great shower. Incredibly friendly hosts who provided a fantastic dinner and breakfast, taken on the veranda watching the world go by. All very reasonably priced and located in a nice spot by the river. If you are travelling like us, it is easy to find and close to the major routes. Also, there is an intermarche 5mins away to top up fuel and provisions. Thank you for your hospitality Fred and Wendy

Cons: There was nothing I didn’t like.

Pros: Lovely characterful ambience. An excellent dinner and breakfast both taken in the garden

Pros: Fantastic hosts who were so welcoming. The Monseur immediately took us with the dog on a walk down to the river and around the village which was fantastic after eight hours in the car, both for us and the dog. We felt relaxed immediately. Drinks on the terrace and then after settling in we had a lovely homemade four course evening meal with fabulous cheeses! It was basic but it was very clean, comfortable and the hosts couldn't do enough to make our stay great. We will definitely return. Thank you.
Pros: Warm welcome from super hosts. Accommodation was just what we needed. Secure place for our bicycles. Comfortable beds, very clean shared bathroom facilities. Dinner, which was a set menu, was excellent. The wild boar was extremely good, followed by some very nice local cheese. We took breakfast as well which set us up nicely for our day of cycling ahead. Excellent value for money, great service. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
Pros: Friendly host
Pros: Super warm welcome, they fed me like one of their own, kindness to strangers. Excellent value. Ate an evening meal and drank wine and beer, then was fed a generous breakfast. We overcame my limited French vocabulary and the stay was delightful. Many thanks
Cons: Horrible meal the evening! Dining room not very clean, they did not change the plates or the cuttelery between the courses, it was first plate some charcutery on a bed of not very fresh salad, then untasty porc solomio with sticky pasta, and small pieces of melon+jam. So the next morning we did not even take a coffee, anyway many guests there (Compostel pilgrims) and impossible to have access to the only bathroom for 6 rooms!! Also bank card not possible! Cash and cheques only
Pros: Friendly hosts, good homemade food ,but overall very tired decor, budget run local........very basic rooms but warm ,clean friendly not everybodies cup of tea ,but I'd go back with my dog .
Cons: Wasn't open when we arrived ,owners seem to use it as a lock up not permanently on the premises
Pros: Excellent friendly hosts and a great (and copious) homecooked dinner. Hotel itself is quirky and very old fashioned but excellent value for money. Will stay again.
Cons: I am very tall and many of the doorways etc required ducking.
Pros: Outstanding welcome from the patrons, despite the language barrier. We were treat like friends, with genuine warmth. Allowed me to park my motorcycle in their garage a short distance away at no extra charge. Enjoyed superb four course dish of the day evening meal with wine, excellent value for money. Building is very quirky with lots of small cramped stairs, but oozing with French character. We loved staying there.
Pros: The price was the main draw a cheap night on the road did me just fine.

Pros: All very clean and a very friendly family. Room was immaculate.
Cons: The approach is difficult for those with disabilities - cannot drive up to or near the front door, so bringing in luggage somewhat tricky.
Pros: Once you enter the property, you become an extra member of the family of 4 owning the house. If you don't like familiarities, this is no place for you. Beautiful house, wonderfull garden wth horses, chickens, poneys...
Pros: Very friendly family run hotel. Excellent English spoken of course, as they come from Holland. Room was spacious and clean, no TV but that didn't bother us. WiFi was very good. The shower was powerful. Breakfast was continental type and delicious - yoghurts, meat, cheese, croissants, and baguettes. English tea with milk was very welcome. Lovely.
Cons: Bit of a trek from car park to front door along a gravel path - not easy to wheel luggage. There was a chain across the road that leads to the house and we almost didn't see it in the twilight when we first got there. Needs a red flag or painted red maybe. One flight of stairs to our room a bit of an ordeal for my disabled wife.
Pros: The room is perfectly clean and charming. The environment is vast, they have a farm, toys for kids. I think this is a very nice place for families with kids. Bonus if you want to observe the sky there is very low light pollution offering you beautiful skies !!!
Cons: Bad acoustic insolation. We asked for a quiet room, we got the room next to the stairs, it was noisy every time people pass by the staircase and from the common living room. Breakfast on a big table with all the guest. If the guest are noisy, you have to deal with it.
Pros: Amazing setting with the most friendly family owned business ever
Pros: Calm, beautiful, close to the highway...
Pros: Beautiful natural setting - there are even Purple Emperor butterflies living in the trees
Cons: All was excellent
Pros: Guests can fish in the river that skirts the hotel grounds
Located in Usson, Auberge de Margot is in a regional park, a 1-minute drive from Parc Naturel Regional Livradois-Forez and 6 minutes from Chateau de Parentignat. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Very old and interesting place with excellent chef and wife who were very helpful....food delicious
Cons: Difficult for disabled.
Pros: Breakfast was allright.
Cons: Welcome was very bad. We were guided directly to our room. No formal welcome. Not asking who we were.
Pros: - outstanding place - a lovely host - a stunning view over the whole valley to the mountains - delicious food
Pros: The views were magnificent from our room - across the valley to the volcanos in the distance. Its' the second time we've stayed there and will definately stay again. It was a lovely evening and had our dinner on the balcony which was so nice.
Pros: Fantastic views from our room. The staff were great - it was hot the night we stayed and we were kindly offered a fan for our room. The dinner we had in the restaurant was also one of the best we’ve had in France! Well worth a visit.
Located in Lempdes-sur-Allagnon, Hotel Evan is within a 15-minute drive of Mining Museum and Parc Naturel Regional Livradois-Forez. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: good simple menu
Pros: Perfect location for overnight stop on route for Spain. Owners are super friendly and helpful. Comfy beds with piping hot shower and quiet! Plentiful parking and secure.
Cons: Nothing really! Great value!
Pros: Just off the motorway, easy to get to, proprietors excellent, food superb, husband is the chef, wife front of house. The rooms all have a kitchen as well as the usual facilities as they are chalet type rooms, all ground floor, no stairs and plenty of parking on site. The facility seems to be used more for commercial travellers and work persons than individuals on holiday. Parking right outside the doors no stairs to climb or loads of persons using the lift and waiting. The owners are very accommodating and speak English.
Cons: Its not a Hotel on the sea front with a sea view, it is what it is, but clean, friendly and lovely food.
Pros: Disgusting room, full of bugs and flies. Never go in there waste of money.
Cons: Not clean, worst than a motel!
Pros: Location Ideal for an overnight stay as just of the motorway
Cons: Room a little small but okay for one night stay
Pros: Very convenient location, just off motorway. Nice comfy bed, was perfect for an overnight stop on our way to Spain.
Cons: Our room was a little shabby, although I did notice all rooms were decorated differently and some were more up to date. The shower cradle was broken and so had to have a shower holding the shower head. But water pressure was good and water nice and hot.
Pros: The location just off the main road made it very easy to get too. The staff spoke english, were tremendously friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great.
Cons: There were no tea or coffee making facilities e.g. a kettle etc. in the bedroom.
Pros: Good location, wonderful setting.
Pros: Convenient and friendly. Cannot fault it.
Cons: No comment
Pros: Good kindly staff, small sweet room but worth for the money. Free big parking.
Located in Sainte-Florine, Le Florina is within a 5-minute drive of Parc Naturel Regional Livradois-Forez and Mining Museum.
Pros: Good location ,quiet , clean room with very comfortable beds .
Cons: expensive breakfast , not great for the price
Pros: Good location and we had a very nice meal. The waitress was very sweet and helpful.
Cons: In need of some refurbishment. They were not concerned that the bathroom basin leaked and the plug did not work - just gave us a bucket!
Pros: Waitress very kindly served dinner on the terrace which was delightful after a long car journey. Menu du chef excellent!
Pros: The room was comfortable and well-appointed. A cold supper was provided in the room although the restaurant was closed.
Cons: Our booking was accepted although the hotel was closed and we had to telephone the owner to get access through a keypad operated door, which was worrying at the end of a long day on the road. All this should be made clear at the time of booking. The owner required payment before we has finished breakfast and then left us to let ourselves out.
Pros: Friendly staff, good menu and food, good inexpensive wine list. Ample parking in the square.
Pros: Good restaurant with friendly service. Evening meal was tasty. Goid selection of cheese.
Cons: Breakfast expensive for what it was. Toilet in room not working properly (in fairness the host did try to fix it). Nothing open in the town so nowhere to wander and stop for a drink or coffee. This may because it was a Monday when things close in France.
Pros: excellent small town hotel close to autoroute good room and the restaurant food was the standard you would expect.
Pros: We only booked a basic room as we stopped off here for just one night, but it was fine. Small but functional bathroom. Staff were pleasant. Dinner in the evening was very local french style food and it was very good, we tried the local wine and that was nice. Overall would probably book one of the bigger rooms if staying for longer, but no complaints.
Cons: Air conditioning would have been nice as we stayed on a very hot night.
Pros: A very good kitchen.
Pros: Friendly staff. Excellent meals. Good location (with fountain) in village centre. Clean & comfortable room.
Cons: The en-suite was a bit small.

Pros: Good location en route to Spain, easy to find.
Pros: Everything else was excellent. Great room and lovely to have a bath. A real plus was fresh coffee after a long drive (and tea). Very comfortable bed and pillows. Fab for my two little dogs too.
Cons: The traffic noise from the bedroom prevented me from sleeping. If you are a light sleeper it's not the place for you. Also you need a torch to put in the door code
Pros: We stayed here on our way down to Spain. The room was warm and had very comfortable beds, although the bed linen was a little dated It was quite easy to find off autoroute, though the signage was a little small outside property at night. Lovely host, and a very good price for a stopover with a dog. Overall clean, warm and comfortable.
Cons: Although there were facilities to make a hot drink, there were only fruit teas available. It lacked coffee and milk .
Pros: Last minute booking whiist touring France. Quiet property mainly used for weddings and parties on weekend with a few rooms to rent in week.
Cons: No-one on site to check in. Rooms very basic and decor and bedding a little shabby.
Pros: The place was ok, close to the motorway... Easy in and out access! Staff by the phone was very helpful and polite!
Cons: The place was dirt and the room was dirt, bathroom in dirt condition unfortunately , towels more like cleaning floor clothes and over date food in the food lounge ... The place has potential to be but this time let us down!!!
Pros: every thing
Pros: Magical quiet place beside the motorway, very nice views, fast response by mail and text. Definitely a 10!
Pros: The breakfast staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was adequate
Cons: About the standard of a third rate hostelry, I should imagine. No staff available on arrival and only received an e- mail 48 hours before arrival giving us our room no and entry code. We might never have received this and would have been at a loss on arrival - very unsatisfactory! All very, very basic. On the local road and very and close to noisy motorway and railway line. Had we arrived earlier and not pre-paid we would have left and found somewhere more appropriate. It is probably more suitable for a budget wedding venue rather than B & B guests.
Pros: Easy to find
Cons: A bit hostel like
