Fresh, clean feel and simplicity of amenities for brief stay at budget price
Hotel in need of general redecoration/repairs of broken fixtures etc.No airconditioning system in room or a window. Checking in time is too late in the afternoon, especially after long journeys and for families with young children.
Very hard to find, even using GPS co-ordinates given on website! Functional hotel that was in a safe area close to shops/restaurants. OK for motorway stopover.
Easy access to Motorway, quiet surroundings, free parking Rooms very small, especially as our room had three beds, which only 2 were required.
Nothing, this was one of the poorest hotels I have ever stayed in. On your web site this hotel is shown as a 4 story modern well equiped building when in reality it is ao old low chalet style building poorly equiped and badly maintained. Nothing see above.
Clean. The reception didn't open when stated - wanted to ask for a room change as one of the rooms smelt of smoke & the bed side light didin't work. The directions to the hotel could have been better.
Dogs were accepted. Quiet hotel. Flooring was unwelcoming in bedroom. Space was limited. Felt as if the hotel was being operated on a limited budget - we only saw one member of staff.
cheap for one night stay. good eating nearby need better directions.
Friendly, helpful reception staff. Good choice of breakfast.
Friendly service. Our youngest daughter left her teddy at the start of our holiday and it was kept safe until our return visit-mch to her delight.
A magnificent beautiful and very romantic hotel in the heart of the centre, excellent location. Very friendly, helpful, good-looking and attentive multilangual personel. It was clean, big badroom with separated shower and bath, decent material. There was an apart room for the toilet, which is always a plus. An enormous and very comfort supersized bed: wish I had that one at home! The closet was big, spacious and full-mirored. A big indoor swimming pool located in the wellness and a giant hamam with music and a starsky. The breakfast was not a huge buffet, but you had everything you could wish for plus the quality of the food was superbe. Delicious! Spacy room but looked a bit 'empty', no little salon, nor those little extras like some chocolat, some fruit or fresh flowers to welcome you. But there was a bottle of water. No device to play music. A minus on the toilet for the ladies was the absence of a bin. We had a problem with gaining warm water the first night, but this was probably due erroneous use. The welness was very relaxing but unfortunately it was sometimes a bit noisious due playing children.
Service, food, and facility were all outstanding. Nothing
The location of the hotel, the interesting courtyard and the comfort of the bedroom There was notghing we didn't like
The location of the hotel suited our needs perfectly, as it was a stop over on our drive home from the south of France & it meant we didn't have a long journey to Calais the next day. The building itself was beautiful & it was nice to see a modern design/decor incorporated into a traditional building. The staff were friendly, efficient & very helpful & when we were unable to eat in their restaurant as it was full, they reccomended & booked a lovely alternative. That we weren't there for longer & that it was raining heavily so we were unable to explore the area!!
The cleanliness. The design of the hotel. Staff so helpful, spa facilities brilliant. Will def go back. NOTHING
The staff did an excellant job of getting the luggage to our rooms on the third floor without a lift. Very small bathroms
Goog location, plesent staff good value for money room.
A great greeting, a fantastic quirky hotel but not very big. Excellent value for money with great shops and restaurants near by. Bedroom at the front was facing the road and even though we were on the top floor, there was still a lot of noise so we didnt get a good nights sleep. A shame as otherwise a great little hotel.
The bulding seems to be historical, narrow and beautiful staircases inside. Everything was clean, cosy, decorated with love and care, wifi worked well. very warm and pleasant blanket. We lived in Gaugin room top floor, I haven't heard our neighbours. Separate bathroom with window view to the rooftops. Well-working heating in the bathroom. Super convenient: breakfast is served for you personally at the time you need. Parking is not private, normal price is 12 per day, but if you pay in the hotel it is only 7 euros - great! First impression is as if you are invited to your grandma suburb house, no "hotel" feeling, but that may be even an advantage. Veeery cold floor in the bathroom, but there is a small carpet and you can turn heating on. And the door of the wordrobe is screeching so terribly, that we were afraid to open it not to disturb our neighbours. From the other side, the wardrobe is so small, that you can avoid using it at all.
We found the "artist" room theme somewhat overdone: the mixture of colours made the hotel room look dark and somewhat cheap. The bathroom was very small.
Owner very helpful. Hotel was very comfortable. The breakast was one of the est on this trip.
Although there was no elevator and our room was on the top floor with narrow stairways leading to it, when we checked in he carried our bags to our room. The hotel isn't far from the train station and also close to the sights in the city. We would stay there again.
that they were flexible about the rooms and allowed us to check-out 30 mins later than advertised. a tiny bit "random" about finding reception staff would be the only slight criticism but that was by far outweighed by their flexibility once found.
Good value for money and friendly staff and, above all, very conveniently located. Room a bit small, and no lifts
The owner was new and was very helpful and enthusiastic. The location was great - parking nearby and close to the old part of the city. The breakfast was especially good. The room was definately odd - it was advertised as quirky. It looked as if it has been decorated by a 12 year old who has been given a few quid to spend at ikea and B&Q.
The location is fantastic - right in the middle of the historic city centre and opposite the stunning Court of Justice, one of the most beautiful late medieval structures anywhere. The hotel building, from the same period, is quaint and charming. As things go in France, the breakfast was above average. The wifi did not work properly (save in the staircase, not the most convenient of options...) and the room furniture was very flimsy indeed and certainly not 'design', as rather boldly stated. No staff on location on a Sunday night - all I got was a room key, in sharp contrast with the services mentioned on the web.
Very well placed in the center of the old town, behind Palace de Justice, a short walk from Cathedral and metro stop. Clean modern room in a nice old building. Very good price. Rooms at second, third and fourth floor without elevator and narrow staircase. Good only for people travelling light. No reception when the bar below is closed. No WiFi in my room even if a router was in the corridor, but good in the bar. Some small maintenance problems
Very very good location. I studied there and I know what a good location in Rouen is. From our room we had a view to Palace Justice. 10 minute walk from train station and walking distance to any sightseeing in Rouen. Room was nice and clean. I will definitely stay there again and would recommend to others with limited budget. No elevators. Reception desk doesn’t works 7/24, though it was not a problem for us.
Good value meals Bar area closing at 11.00 pm
Good food menu
secure parking and pet friendly. Unable to eat in hotel on evening due to a wedding. We were not informed prior to our arrival. However a restaurant was recommended just down the road and this was excellent. So no complaints.
good for an overnight stop
Parking Wireless Intenet No
I used the hotel for a one night stop over and found the hotel clean, comfortable and good value. Remember this chain is providing clean and comfortable accomodation to a budget so dont expect high end luxury. Make sure you have good directions before you leave as relying on the french post code alone on the satvav couldnt find the address.
upstairs looked ok. it had been refurbished. there were plugs in the bedroom and not only in the toilet. the rooms were nice and bright and it was quiet. they had redone the cafeteria but there was no lobby like there used to be. the hotel was being refurbished so there was lots of noise especially in the morning. i had to buy insect spray as i was being bitten in the room. my room was dark and dingy. there were kids screaming and running in the corridor all night long.
I liked the safe parking for my vehicle, and the entire hotel was receiving an upgrade when I was there. The staff was most kind and helpful in the short dealings I had with them The street it was on was very noisy, and no insulation between rooms made for noise as well. The safety chain was missing on my door, and the light switch in the hall was not easy to find
Excellent experience We arrived at the hotel at 3 in the morning. I phoned in advance around 19:00 to obtain the car park access code. However, the receptionist spoke no English and with my limited French we could not obtain the code. This was stressful as I had a trailer with me and an expensive car and did not want to leave it on the road. If your staff cannot converse with guests then perhaps this vital piece of info should be on the reservation mail. Ie Go to reception and enter Red id into Automated machine Obtain room key Car park access code is on the key ring
No light in lobby. Lobby and romm had a smell like tobacco and urine? Room old, dull and dingy. Sheets marked. Burn hole in bed cover (in a non-smoking room!). Some formica on furniture loose and broken.
Price is fair poor location as too much noise outside makes it difficult to sleep. Also the room is smely of smoking and no towels provideded
None No staff at night and room next to ours had about ten people in it and it sounded like they were having a party. After two requests for them to be quiet with no response, we phoned the number given in the room for such a problem and it was connected to an answerphone. We left a message and were about to leave the hotel at midnight when the noise quietened somewhat and we managed to get some rest.
No staff at night, making arrival time difficult. The room said No Smoking but the room smelt of smoke. The room was very noisy at night with someone singing loudly into the early hours.
Room was ready on time and on arrival. Clean and tidy, staff ( one person ) was helpful. my party occupied x 3 Triple rooms. No tea/coffee making facilities, strong smell of cigarette smoke in lift and corridors and the six rooms my party occupied even though there was a no smopking policy apparently in force. Location of the hotel by a main road meant it was very noisy at all times with windows open.
Parking felt very secure and the tram line was right outside the front door. The hotel is meant to be non smoking but was over powering with the smell of stale tobacco. It was clear that guests next door were also smoking and sending fresh fumes into the room through the oddly arranged secondary glazing.
Convienient for city centre, secure overnight public underground car park, only 10 euros for 24hrs, a 5 min walk away. Friendly staff.
Friendly reception, everything worked fine, good breakfast
rooms smelling of cigarette smoke, however, the hotel staff did allow us to change rooms, but, the cigarette smell did overtake the hall and access corridors.
clean, very helpful staff, proximity to historic centre and a lot of thought had gone into hotels decor
friendly staff, not intrusive
Convenient location - easy to find and we parked outside the hotel
We were booked at this hotel for one night but upon arrival our car broke down outside the entrance which meant we ended up staying for another night. The staff were absolutely fantastic helping us to sort out our problems and rearranging rooms for us for the additional stay.
Good location, helpful staff Walls between bedrooms thin, shower not ideal
i liked evreything
Location was very good. Used as a stop over hotel
Breakfast and welcoming staff Room and bathroom were clean, but pillows and blankets have not been cleaned for some time...
nothing special, but absolutely o.k.. Good parking Rather small, a bit newer furniture would be good
The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was huge by European standards. We didn't take the breakfast, but we did ask for some hot water one morning and discovered the breakfast would be worth the price.
The rooms The location on a slope and the lack of elevator
The size of the room and the jacuzzi bath We did not take the breakfast as we felt it was too expensive
Great room with good facilities Extra price for breakfast 13 Euros. Walk up the hill from town
the staff is really efficient. Very poor for the price payed. The breakfast in particular is really basic and not included in the price. To walk from and to the hotel you have to be pretty fit.
Friendly staff, attractive old-fashioned style of hotel. Excellent brreakfasts. Not as central as we would have liked. No restaurant in the hotel and nothing nearby. Considering the location and the facilities it seemed quite expensive.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The suite was very large and comfortable. We liked the fact that this hotel is in a fairly quiet neighbourhood and it is about a 15 min walk or a short bus ride to the Old Town. Rouen is a very busy place and not a fun place to drive in so we especially appreciated being able to leave our car at the hotel during our stay. The hotel parking is a tight squeeze but the price is very reasonable.
Our spacious room had high ceilings and looked just like a classic French hotel room. The breakfast was delicious.
staff were great no
Bed a little hard
pleasant, helpful reception; willing to serve food & drinks after restaurant was shut (we arrived late) difficult to find unless you follow the instructions to the letter
Easy to find, convenient situation. No
Easy to find, comfortable accommodation at a reasonable price N/A
No waiting time for anything. Fast service and friendly people. Safe parking site.close to motorway.
this hotel is great if you need a quick stop off - Rouen is well worth a visit when we wanted a drink from the bar we were directed to sit in a room with the washing ?? and the tumble dryer. Staff didn't see this as a problem... strange thing was there was a room divider that could have been pulled across to make a smaller much nicer room. didnt spoil our stay.
Richard, the manager, is very helpful. Even though we didn't arrive til 3.00 am he still let us have us access to our room. The rooms were very comfortable and great location for an overnight stop while travelling through France, just seconds from the motorway. Would recomend it as very good value for money and very helpful staff.
staff friendly and help full restaraunt facilities and food good
Clean and friendly
Very pleasant and helpful "owner/manager" and the breakfast was good Shower was broken and street outside was very noisy all night.
Location in town centre Difficult parking, lots of noise until late from outside
Good location to city centrum, clear rooms, good breakfast, friendly service There is a bar close to the hotel and it may be noisy
The owner is very friendly and offers personnalized service. I enjoyed the bath (instead of commonly found shower). I was facing the street and it was not so quiet during the night, but I had 3 large windows for plenty of sun in the morning. The curtains in the bathroom wouldn't allow complete privacy. The lock of the door was hard to handle.
It was relatively inexpensive and very close to the center of the city. We walked three blocks to the cathedral. The staff was very helpful. It was not very comfortable. The street has bars that were open most of the night with noisy patrons in the street.
The only positive experience was the staff. They helped us to change our booking! Cleaningness, too much distubance and poor quality.
the staff were very helpful. the shower was faulty, and the room needs refurbishing. The direcections to the hotel were very poor. Value for money is poor, because of the exchange rate.
The hotel is ideally located near the banks of the Seine. We used it for a late evening visit to the huge funfair in Rouen in October/November. We did not eat in the hotel at all and made an early morning start for the Eurotunnel. The shower wall holder was missing. After a long journey I was looking forward to a good shower. Had to hold the shower head myself and shower as well as possible like this!
in citycenter old fashend, "schmuddelig"
The patron was friendly and helpful and always available. The rooms seemed to have been recently redecorated and refurnished and were in good order. The double glazing kept out most of the noise. The street noise at night was intermittently loud with shouting and banging of bins. The communal staircase was a bit dingy.
it was very clean and had a lot of space and everything that you needed a small point wich may be a big point for someone else was that there was only a small amount of toilet paper and we ran out of....however we made use of the tissues that were there so it didnt impact on us particularly....us brits tend to make do i guess....overall it was very comfortable and in a nice location and that was the only thing and to be honest we felt it was a minor thing.....
Everything!! The breakfast
Rooms were clean, bright and spacious.
The hotel is very good While we knew breakfast was extra - we decided to take, fot the kids it cost six euros but then there was no cereal specific for the kids - so we ended up paying just for a glass of milk, (as the cereal we had to buy ourselves)
The staff was really friend. Best choice if you are looking for something new, clean and functional. Good internet connection. It´s not in the city center (20min walking distance) although it´s close to the University and there are some small shops close by.
It was right for 4 adults but generally acceptablr There are openings in the swinging doors to the shower area that created a problem with privacy. We had two teenage girls and two men.
Breakfast was rather poor. Except the bred and the coffee everything came in small plastic containers - looked very modern, but not exactly my taste. Would have preferred some real ham and cheese.
Clean hotel & helpful staff - watch the parking tickets if you leave the car on the road! Bed hard and pillows uncomfortable
They did not complete the clean of my room one day. It looked like they started part of the kitchette area and then did not complete it.
Comfortable and modern
Functional. Fridge, microwave and kettle provide alternative food options. Simple no nonsense breakfast
Good location nice facilities for short stay Lacked facilities in rooms for making tea or coffee. Parking was at nearby underground car park with ticket to reduce overnight stay charge from 9.50euros to 6euros, however leaving car park by different entrance left one a little lost a small map to show where entrance and exits were would help. Doors to staircase on each levelwould help to reduce noise and fire risk
Room was very clean Location was excellent in city centre Staff were friendly and helpful No Tea/ coffee facilities in room or hotel only mini bar in room Bedside light broken and not repaired as requested Insufficient towels in bathroom Bath had high sides , no grab rails so stepping out/ in was hazardous (I am tall and agile but even so found this a problem) Elevator was very small
This is a two star diamond!!! Large room, nicely designed and decorated. Friendly and helpful staff. A very nice breakfast buffet (as apposed to the standard French canned orange juice, yoghurt, and bad coffee). Nicely located in a great town with a parking area, Porcelle, just down the street. A pleasant surprise at the end of a 3 week trip. Nothing to dislike.
Bon Petit déjeuner (très bonne qualité des produits) mais non inclu dans le prix de la chambre (+11€/personne) /// Good breakfast (very good quality of products) but you pay an extra 11€/person for it. Très Mauvais rapport qualité prix: je suis habitué aux hôtels de 60€ à 140€ et la chambre à 120€ ne mérite pas plus de 70€. L'ameublement est très bas de gamme, ma moquette comportait des brulures de cigarette et la couverture comportait des traces pas ragoutantes (changée sans difficulté) /// Very bad value for Money: I in general take rooms in range 60€-140€ in France, Room at 120€ does not worse more than 70€. Very low quality of furniture, dirty carpet with cigarette burns in my room, blanket not clean (replace without any difficulty).
Hotel is very clean. They serve a wonderful breakfast.
Location relative to historic areas Rooms small
Location was excellent, staff were friendly and helpful. This hotel is fairly basic, however it has been recently renovated and it is comfortable, clean and more than adequate for a night or two's stay. No. It is in the middle of the city, therefore there was a little noise in the street at night, but with the windows closed , it was not an issue at all. As a regular user of hotels, I would say that this hotel was good value for money and I would recommend it.
Clean, comfortable, convenient and with good service. None
the helpful staff. it was quiet. i had to apgrade my room because the room i booked through the internet did not meet my expectations. i had to pay more than intended
Convenient, good value, clean, with pleasant and helpful staff and good food (dinner). Pricey breakfast at 8 Euros per person, so we didn't bother and just provided our own in-room picnic. The 32 Euros we saved more than paid for lunch at a very nice small Normandy cafe/bar.
Enclosed gated car parking, good food selection in resturant, easy to find hotel from Rouen direction. None
The room was clean and, while a little small, quite adequate for our use as a base from which to visit other area attractions. At this time, my wife and I both smoke. We were not aware of the hotel's smoking policy before arrival. Had we known, it might have influenced our decision to stay there for two nights.
The room was clean and fresh with a good sized bathroom and facilities. The staff were helpful when we arrived late at night with a family. Although booking.com had picked this out for a family of 4, there were only rooms for 3.
Unfortunately my car broke down, so not a good weekend Food was quite expensive for what was on offer
Friendly staff, easy access from the highway, larger than average rooms. We had both a bathtub and shower. All worked fine. Breakfast ended too early. A 9:30 or 10:00 would be better. We were on holidays and liked to sleep in.
Clean and comfortable, restaurant on site Small room, heater spasmodic
proximity to city; quaintness of the surroundings
This place is very quaint. It is in a great location next to the cathedral and is clean and comfortable despite being obviously very old (and by that I don't mean worn down - I mean that you can tell the building has been there forever but it is well taken care of). There is a nice court yard/patio with a very friendly cat and a nice breakfast. Would stay there again 100% The key system is a little old, other than that, everything is great!
Location. Old French charm. Free use of internet. Breakfast better than expected. Shower facility and bathroom better than expected. No. For the price, in France, this was pretty good all round. If I tried I could probably find fault, as in any hotel anywhere!
very central, nice spacious rooms parking and possibility to reach the hotel by car
Brilliant location just behind the cathedral, breakfast was excellent. Renovation work is currently being done on rooms.
The best advantage of this hotel is the location. It is easy walking distance to all sights, shopping and restaurants.
Personal touch, very friendly staff, beautiful location. Nothing, it was lovely, we would stay there again.
Location and ambiance.. It is a typical French hotel and not like a chain hotel at all, individual but well decorated. Bed very comfortable and staff fine, even when we stayed beyond checkout time.
It had the nicest room of any we stayed in in France. Parking lot didn't have enough spaces for all guests to park.
Receptionists were friendly and welcoming. Hotel is full of character No Parking. Carpets on stairs is worn and corridors were needing decorating. Poor signage in hotel
Very central and had an old French charm Parking was difficult
The care and attention given by all the staff was exceptionally good. We were supposed to be staying in an attic room but as soon as we walked in ,Madame noticed that my husband is tall so she upgraded us. We stayed for 4 nights and slept in 3 different rooms and the staff moved all our belongings and clothes for us, so it was no trouble to us. All rooms lovely. The food was also really good
We thought the meals were excellent. The Hotel had an indoor and outside pool which was nice for our children.
Astonishing old manor house in a beautiful garden. Charming room, comfortable bed, absolutely silent - we really slept well here. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a little bit too expensive as there was nothing special about it.
Though it is a lovely hotel and the staff were very helpful, our stay was spoilt by the fact that a film shoot that was being done there had overrun. This meant we could not check in on time and parking was very awkward. The clean up from the shoot was still underway when we had breakfast the next morning and then left.We had not received any notice of this situation. However we were given an upgrade and a very modest price reduction for the inconvenience.
perfect ambiance, perfect service and perfect food
The hotel, room and food were fabulous and sited well for the surrounding area. Although we considered we had excellent value for money it seemed that our 'package price' for half board (3 nights), through booking.com, was actually the room only price, the hotel did however honour our package price. The hotel would have been very expensive if a package price had not been available.
Excellent service when we had a difficult booking experience. Friendly and attentive staff The hotel is a little tired and could do with some painting and updating in the social areas.
location uncomfortable bed, small room, expensive bar/mini bar
Nothing special , type of hotel you will not remember except for the extraordinary attitude of 2 employees at the reception desk who were very helpful. The access by car is very complicated and parking very narrow.
The location.. so close to the Cathetral, the Gros Horloge, shopping. The room was very small for 2.
Very nice location in central city. It may be difficult to find hotel by car. But i think it is usal in France due to many uni direction road.
Rooms are small but well furnished. The location is very convenient for tourism and the underground car park is very useful. The bed was too firm and the air conditioning was noisy and ineffective.
The friendly and helpful nature of the staff, a very good breakfast, and fine location for sightseeing
Very pleasant and helpfull staff. Good local knowledge too. Rooms alittle on the small side.
The hotels location is superb for site seeing but very difficult to find, the availability of car parking is a joke. The hotel is fine just finding it and somewhere to park were the flies in the ointment.
Excellent location, good facilities, very clean.
location, friendliness of staff, promptness of service the room was not made up early enough
Pleasant receptionist Room bare - tv remye didn't work. No en suite facilities and communal toilets and showers not particularly clean. Ground floor room where window opened out on to street felt very insecure. Car park had gate which was left open - worried all night about belongings in car
How clean it was. staff excellent. breakfast very good
Price and cleanliness. We needed only over night sleep and this was right place to sleep during our journey to the next place. The hotel is cheap, so do not expect to see posh people spending a night. We were slightly shocked to learn what kind of company is having supper in courtyard. But the only noise we got it was at 5.30 a.m. them going to the shower and leaving.
Friendly and clean budget Hotel. Excellent value for money
The hotel is quite fair for its price. The rooms are small and fit up to 3 people, but it was enough for us. If you have a car and are looking for value for money, it is the best choice.
It was cheap - thats about it. There were communal bathrooms and toilets - no ensuite. Location was poor with no restaurants or bars open nearby. Some of the other clientele was somewhat questionable!!!
Super helpful staff. Nice location. Great price...
The hotel is well located, on a quiet street in a nice, residential neighborhood close to city center (15 minutes walking to the heart of town). Both room and bathroom were spacious but poorely renovated and for 20 more Euros you can stay at a decent hotel in the center of the town... No elevator and dark hallway; we had to carry our heavy luggage 4 floors up. Bathroom toilet was smelling and dirty. Maybe the owner can ensure the toilets are being deodorized in the future. Parking on the surrounding streets is not guaranteed but we managed to find it pretty easy, then the receptionist was nice and offered us a spot in front of the hotel.
Very basic; minimal facilities: Functionql only;
Good location near the railway station and not far from the city center Lack of free space in the room
very friendly hotel manager or owner. quite at night, you can sleep. near sncf and city small room, small bathroom, i had to buy my own shampoo and soap and cups
On the plus side the hotel was clean and reasonably central to the city. There was a sign on the door to say that the hotel was closed when we arrived. We had to call a number to explain that we were booked into the hotel and we were then given a code for the front door so that we could get in. Our room key was in the door of the room. There were no staff in the hotel.
It was very strange how there was nobody there when we arrived and that the key was behind the flowerpot. Nobody came until breakfast the following morning!
Nothing The room didnt look clean, the carpet, the bathroom , I had to ask several times for soap and towels, the lady at the entrance doesnt speak good english so I think she didnt understand what we were asking for.We could hear every thing that was happend in the next room, and I mean everything, the walls are so thin that if someone is laughing next door you also know why.
it's quite near the rouen train station, just walk 10 min. and also close to the downtown because Rouen is very small When I arrived the hotel, the outside door was locked and nobody for the reception. I have to ask my french friend to call the staff there. There were 2 TV in my room, but none of them was able to use
Close to station. Pleasant staff. Character of hotel. Entrance, dining room and office clean and recently decorated. Shabby furnishings, shower worked but needed repair. Room needed a thorough clean. Not easy to find from station.
