good location, in quiet area near citycenter, friendly staff, good breakfast the room was very warm (although is wasn't a very hot day/night) We tried to ventilate by opening the window, but that didn't help much
localisation hotel accueil froid
staff was good, the breafast was full a lot of different meal, the room was convenient and clean the walls in bath were e little bit thin, so we could hear our neighbours; also you have to hang a sign "don't disturb", because anyway maid comes at 8.30 to clean your room
I liked the comfort af my room, even though it was rather a small roo. The bathroom was alsook nobody refilled the gel-dispenser by the sink in one week . One day, getting into bed, I found a black long hair on my sheets and, since I am grey and short haired, I think it was from the cleaning lady; and it was rather groce
Friendly staff, good breakfast included in room price. Price is good for Switzerland, which is generally expensive compared to most other countries. Internet connection is very expensive. No direct phone line to room, which means people can't call you from outside after the reception closes at 11 pm.
Really good place to stay with.. Clean and nice environment. Restaurant in the hotel is really good. Reception is good.(one of your receptionist-Danilla she helped me a lot with a nice smile and prompt answers).. Overall I enjoyed the stay. TV is small to watch. One water heater should be present for drinking purpose..
Good Internet speed in the lobby. Clean room. Quiet area. Lack of parking places. Poor breakfast. Internet connection in room didn't work.
The location was great, a beautiful 10 min. walk to downtown Bern. The view of the mountains and Old Town Bern is amazing coming down the hill from the hotel. The hotel staff was very helpful with directions. Typical European hotel, small rooms, very basic.
The very good breakfast, the easy check-in and check-out and the kindness of the breakfast assisting personnel. 1 The noise from the garden restaurant. 2 Two of 3 lamps I could not switch on. 3 There was no space at the bathroom to put my toothbrush, deodorant and all other such things one need during a several days travel. 4 If the breakfast would not have been so excellent, the price would have been CHF 15.- too high. 5 At the main entrance there should be a small ramp beside the stairs for heavy baggage rolling.
Excellent sized room, efficient check in, check out - very pleased Menu choice was not that great
Great breakfast. Tram stop directly opposite hotel which takes you straight into city centre. Quiet rooms Room was very very hotel with no air-conditioning and window that only opened 10cm
The location was great! It is outside of the city, which was great to keep us out of traffic and the rush of tourism. However, the walk to the city was not far, and on the way, was spectacular views of the city from on top of a hill. Hotel was typical Novotel; no surprises there. Paid parking is a bit expensive, so we were glad we were able to park our car and leave it as a way to minimize parking charges.
Great business hotel, right on the tram which in 10 min takes you into Bern, where you can connect to go anywhere in Switzerland. very clean and great staff. room carpet was stained, it is not in Bern city center, and there is nothing nearby for sight seeing, but these are easy to get over.
Accomodatin standards, family friendly There is nothing not to like
A clean place to sleep with a good shower. The TV system had only one English channel (CNN), though they advertised many more. The staff was unfriendly and could answer no questions (didn't know where movie theaters were, didn't know about the hotel's room service or restaurant hours, didn't know about the Internet connection, etc. etc.). The only food available was expensive and elaborate.
hotel staff is excellent, location is good: close to the historical part of the city, there was free underground parking during our stay no swimming pool
Staff friendly, bed comfortable
Good location only 20 min walk to city center down a beautiful street overlooking the old city and river.
Very comfortable room. Queensize bad was outstanding. It's a rare case for a hotel where wc and bath-room are separated. Moreover the latter contains both, a bath and a shower which is very convenient. The planning and furniture are also very nice. The staff is very nice as well. Private parking at good price is also an advantage. Good value for money. Not the center of the city of course, but the connection by tram is very convenient. Suggest they make some kind of guide sign to their parking as it is not very big and you have a chance to miss the entrance easily.
the place !
perfect location, very exquisite rooms, friendly and helpful personnel don't miss to dine in the restaurant "Yu" with its modern chinese cuisine!!! rate for parking the car rather expensive
The hotel room was good and not small taking into consideration swiss standards. The breakfast was very reasonable and the dinner in the hotel's resturante very pleasant. The location is fantastic, 5 minutes on foot to city center. Parking space and internet were too expensive. For internet I used cell phone connection and it was almost 10 times less expensive than what the hotel was charging. For me that is absurd!
Rooms were small. the air conditioning was poor and leaked in the room, location was great, room wasnt ready at check in time.
Very nice location, good service, and hospitable staff
Room was spacious, spotless and extremely well decorated - lovely view across to town & mountiains. Location was convenient for old town and station. Reception staff was very helpful and very friendly, nice bar for drinks at end of day There is some refurbishment work currently at the hotel and this led to loud drilling on our arrival day in mid afternoon. Housekeeping failed to refill bathroom soaps, coffee / milk more than once but did react very quickly when this was pointed out. Only other thing we didnt like was the habit of reserving tables and stools in the bar in the evening. You would return to the hotel for a nightcap and find up to a third of tables empty with reserved signs. Often these remained empty till closing - smacked a little of putting corporate guests ahead of individuals.
The hotel lobby and common areas are modern and nice the toliet seat is leaning on one side, bathroom decor ugly
Nice room, friendly staff, really felt welcome
Clean, direct access from underground parking to the hotel, comfortable bathroom although small Noicy and the room was too small, no minibar
Location, staff is nice , fair breakfast , fantastic bed bathroom a bit small , no wardrobe , crappy TV
breakfast hotel furniture
It was a very clean hotel with pleasant staff. Centrally placed for the railway station and the centre of Berne
Way over priced for what you get.
Very nice breakfast, good central location across from train station.
Nice contemporary furnitue with relaxing colors internet access not convenient
Access to Railway, and very quiet room, excellent desk. English spoken, a new building. Very convenient position.
very good position, good staff.
Helpful and friendly staffs. Convenient location, both the old town and the train station are within easy reach. Good breakfast. Nothing.
Ideal location, quit but close to the city centre. Easy to reach by car. Breakfast and staff was gret. Rooms are basic but all right Rooms are noisy in the sense that you can literally follow everything people in the room next to you are doing. My neighbours decided to get up at 5.30 am....
Even we just booked the basic room, but it is quite large. Everything is ok~
Helpful staff. Nice room, but no air conditioning. Quiet room so we could open windows. Good breakfast.
Staff very helpful and pleasant. Location convenient, Tram across the street. Breakfast buffet very good It would have been great to also have a restaurant on site for lunch or dinner.
Rooms are tiny, breakfast is in a basement
the location was fine; not very far from the center of Bern and in a nice neighborhood. The staff were most helpful. Very nice hotel for the money. No.
Convenient location; friendly staff; parking; clean, comfortable rooms.
The location is good, the personnel helpful, the rooms clean and comfortable. Rather old furniture, the underground breakfast room remings one of a concentration camp and the breakfast itself is poor too. However, the breakfast is not so important to us, but big eaters beware.
everything especially the free internet service in the lobby
Friendly staff, who also speak good english...
view from the room
The location is brilliant! It's just 10 min walk from the train station. All the attractions and restaurants of Bern are within walking distance. The staff is quite attentive. The rooms are spatious, and the view from the room is good. It was quet and clean there. There were technical problems with the TV receiver, which were not solved within 3 days of our stay there.
The restaurant is wonderful. The concierge most helpful. A beautiful building, great view of the Alps It is not your fault. Switzerland is very expensive for us from the US
service, style, class, location
This hotel merits its 5 star rating with top-notch staff, beautiful accommodations with lovely lake views and excellent location within easy walking distance of most major attractions. The cost of the breakfast buffet is very expensive. Finding a place for a reasonably priced breakfast in the area was difficult.
Friendly staff , spacious rooms , beautiful design. late breakfast, close to every point in the city missed a jaquzzi for relaxing after a long walk......
The room and the view of Bern from the room was beautyfull The TV was without audio and the jet of water in the bathroom was poor. But probably is it not so normally.
very comfortable luxurious hotel with easy access to the old town Bern.
We loved the view from our room, the quietness of the place, the room was spacious and tastefully arranged, the location is excellent, staff was extremely nice Not enough shampoo, bath gel and body lotion
The view from the terrace was really excellent and the room was worthy of 5-star. The location was unbeatable. I got the special offer which was reasonable and made me happy. But, I cannot afford the normal price.
Great location right in the most modern Shopping Center of Europe with an unbelievable Aqua Park with wellness facilities.
It is located next to a shopping mall and we found it very convenient. For Japanese, it was another convenience to find a Ramen shop there! The room was also very clean and comfortable for us. If you do not need luxurious facilities, this hotel must be the best option at very reasonable price. We were really satisfied. Only disadvantage might be its location a few stations away from Bern startion.
Cleanliness of room. Cheap parking available. Languages spoken by reception staff. Reserved Queen-size bed but were given twins. Breakfast poor for the price (not American breakfast as advertised). Address did not appear on TomTom, so was very difficult to find.
Convenient access to city centre via train stop and bus station opposite. Shopping centre attached to the hotel with good range of shops and eating places. Cost of breakfast and garaging for car were not included in price. As it is used as a business base for many people who do not pay their own hotel expenses was therefore very expensive for tourists, ie us!
Good service at the reception; proximity of shopping center & Bernaqua air conditionning not easy to set
The staff was very pleasant and helpful, willing to answer all questions. The room was comfortable & clean. Easy access to Train transportation.
All in one shopping spa destination Knocking of door in the morning
Hotel is part of a shopping center and gives access to a water center. Nice choice for the breakfast
The staff is nice and the French benefit is a free ticket for 2 1/2 hours of pleasure in the BernAqua spa. Connection to the centre of the city is good, just 8 minutes by train that goed frequently. Prefab boxes, noisy, small and definitely overprized. You have to find the hotel through a labyrinth in a underground parking garage. It do not understand the good review of other visitors. This is the first time that I felt misleaded by the review on Booking in 7 years!
best location for old bern nothing
Central Location, Modern decor, good breakfast selection, comfortable room
Well located, comfortable hotel with good breakfast and excellent discounted restaurant for hotel guests plus free internet access. Appreciated having fridge and electric jug to make a cup of tea in room. Room facing street was noisy at times from people in the street and servicing of nearby supermarket early in the morning. Increase in room rate for Monday compared to weekend was excessive.
the room was clean and all necesary amenities were available. the location is a touch too far from the railway station.
Very good location, right in the middle of the old town.
- the double room is very little, but for one night is ok
the bed cover, thats it noting more. it would not be possible to offer less of a servive. Platic flowers the joke of old apples «bitte bedeinen sich» is a joke. Hotel staff, just doing their job, for me a hotel visit should be an «erlebnis». Plastic flowers, served coffee (you could save the personell and leave a nespresso machine at least good coffee, hey wers talking about an 4 star hotel not an hostel.
This hotel is first class, but a bit expensive.
good location poor breakfest, not cleened room after first day, dosnt work internet on the room
We were made to feel very welcome when we checked in. Very friendly and helpful reception staff. The hotel is situated in an excellent location close to the train station and to shopping and restaurants. It is in a very quiet location and our room very well appointed. The breakfast buffet had a good variety of food and the staff attentive and friendly. A most enjoyable stay.
Room facilities and view
Great location on the lake with decks right out over the lake There was not much choice for food in the area
Unique design and room facilities, wonderful lake side location, the only suite hotel above water in Europe, superb food and wines, an experience not to be missed Some aging wooden planks along the access to the lake side suites do no longer match the luxury resort.
Service, staff and clenliness were excellent. The room could have been a little cooler.
the wonderfull setting off the small appartments on the water, the nice service and attention also for us as a family
Nice staff Great site Romantic room design One of the most beautiful hotels in the Europe
The style and layout of the rooms is first class, add to that real privacy and the feeling of sitting on the lake/water Unfortunately it is a disease that Hotels insist on execcive charges for mini bar (standard items) and the price for a continental breakfast. We regularly stay at another 5 star hotel in Switzerland where the mini bar & breakfast are all part of accom which is overall less that the Palafitte.
Very relaxing, felt as though we were on holiday somewhere exotic even though we were within a stone's throw from Neuchatel, the restaurant was excellent as was the service, the facilities provided in the room were of a very high standard and they had thought of everything. We actually asked to upgrade to a Lake Pavillion room once we were there. The heating system was on full and could not be turned off -- the only comfortable way to sleep was to have the main window wide open all night. It was also too expensive -- only affordable on the basis that this was a one-off and we would not go back due to the cost.
the friendliness off the staff NA
Good welcome and professional staff at the reception. The hotel as infrastructure is nice, welcome and reception are good. The breakfast is nice (as quality of the food) The waiting staff did not seem happy to work in the hotel. It seemed to be attended by students working only to finance their studies. Exception made for a waitress who was smiling.
I liked the location , the excellent food in the restaurant, the terrace, the bar, especially Mr. Stefan from the bar, and the parking Relative poor breakfast for 60 CHF, unpolite receptionist.
hotel position good on lake room was in poor decorative state + dirty, we have stayed there is much nicer rooms at the same price
Nothing,i everything except the view was bad. It has poor services, the staff is not responsive, you have to wait 30 minutes in front of the reception because one guy is drinking his coffee and another is a newbie and does not know how to serve the clients. Only the position of the hotel is nice, the services are bad and the smoking rooms have a very strange smell. They are cleaned but not odorized.
The general look and feel, which is very elegant and relaxing, classical, yet not dusty. The location as well of course. The windows in the room were a bit small, that's all!
The staff are very helpful and polite. Location is of course excellent. No pool. Room very dark, furniture old and dark. No relaxing sitting/lounge area apart from bar.
great location, right in the centre of downtown, very clean and very polite staff
Beautiful views and correct staff. Situated in the center of Neuchatel, this is really a high standing hotel, with a reasonable price for a five star. Breakfast though was not included on the rate.
I asked for a room with a balcony, knowing that there were not many of this type. I therefore telephoned in advance to ask and was told the room had a small balcony. Imagine my surprise that we were given a second floor room with a beautiful balcony, overlooking the lake. For a five star hotel I was rather disappointed with the service at breakfast. The used plates were left far too long on the tables.
Location. Memories. Very helpful at front desk.- gave us an upgrade when they couldn't find our reservation Arrived to find no reservation tho we had a Booking.com confirmation and we were not pleased. Hotel did respond well.
The hotel staff was helpful and friendly, my room was clean and comfortable and the location was close to the train station and the city center of Nuechatel.
Liked its good location No gym. One of the reasons why I booked. Breakfast was very poor. No fruit apart from kiwifruit. Not appealing. Room was suppose to be a superior room that could sleep 4. I think you would have to be childen or dwarves. There was no room
Very little - it is being renovated. The location is convenient for the town centre. The room had just been decorated smelled heavily of paint, the A/C had been removed, in August! The corridors were hung with bare wires and light bulbs. The wires almost blocked the corridor, a fire hazard. The stairs were blocked because of painting, fire hazard! Workmen's tools were left in the corridor. The building was covered in scaffolding incl. outside the window - security hazard. The staff said sorry - so what?
Lakeside position, Reception staff, general ambience Reception although given assurance that due to my late arrival the kitchen would be able to supply something to eat, this was countermanded by the extremely abrupt Head Waiter. The extraordinary arrangment was made on my behalf by the excellent Receptioist but I was assured by the head waiter he was the controller of the kitchen and not the chef de cuisine!
The location was excellent. The staff very friendly and the room very comfortable. The breakfast was huge and varied, and the weekend offer made the place very affordable.
The reception staff were all attentive and helpful and spoke good English. The design was pleasing and interesting. The lakeside view from our room was lovely. In retrospect, I think it ought to have been pointed out that our booking was inclusive of breakfast.
Was not warned that hotel was a building site
The hotel is very elegant and very well located at the seaside of Neuchatel. The rooms with view on the lake are great. No.
Everything we had nothing to complain about
Really nice place, extremely kind staff.
I had visited the hotel in the 90s when it was a bijoux of beautiful original art nouveau antiques. Now it is ugly and full of second rate flea market objects. What a disappointment!
The Sunday evening concert
I myself am in the hospitality sector, and my expectaions on a hotel on one of the main streets of Bern were the "regular touristic stuff", however the two concierges I dealt with, the front desk personel and the rest of the staff were more than friendly and helpful all the time.. For example, when we went to have breakfast 5 minutes after the buffet was supposed to close they did all for us to enjoy our teas ans latte capuccini as well as the full buffet (excellent pancakes and also the parmiggianio was great).
Friendly staff and good location Only one person of staff was working at reception and restaurant (at the same time)
Proximity (5-10 mins walk) to all major Old Town attractions, shopping and transport as well as charming attempt at the true Belle Epoque style felt throughout the hotel and the rooms. Also a bowl of fruit and a welcome hand-written note from the owners was a nice touch. There is a nice and relaxed restaurant on the ground floor/terrace level which is very pleasant for a quiet coffee in the morning or late dinner/drinks in the evening. It is a boutique-style Old Town hotel but it does feel a little "tired" and is edging more towards the 3* rather than 4* hotel. Facilities are very basic, as is a very expensive (CFR 21) buffet breakfast and room cleaning service leaves a lot to be desired for. Room prices are comparable to other 4*-5* hotels in Bern but offer very poor value for money.
upon arrival they had a very nice and amusing jazz concert...good music and very nice "ambiance"...
The staff was very friendly & they upgraded us to a suite which was lovely
I enjoyed the good service and the friendly staff. However, the hotel is quite small with smallish rooms and a small stairway. The lift was useful to get the luggage up. The double glazed windows were needed to keep the street noise down. The room air became stuffy overnight. I liked the Art Deco room decor. Breakfast was expensive, but so was everything in Switzerland.
Wireless LAN The rooms I was in was a bit oldfashioned, and not suited for the business traveller (very small table to work on)
everything - Actually, we think you have under-rated the hotel in your website. it is fantastic and the staff are all very friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Hotel has great ambiance and location is great!!!
Free use of the internet/central location Room extremely small for a single room but comfortable.
Location and helpfulness of staff. General feel of the room was very disappointing. Difficult to think of this as a three star. Coffee machine had no water.
Clean, near the station，the breakfast is good No wifi in the room
Central location. Room was modern, clean and comfortable. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Amazingly good free facilities which was a nice surprise (games room, internet room, tea/coffee room, tv room, fitness room, rooftop terrace).
location right in the center of the city fairly small rooms, facilities
Our room had a balcony, had on-site washer and dryer, breakfast was good and the breakfast staff friendly. No air conditioning so we left the window open at night and we awakened by street construction/trash collection noise early in the morning. The laundry on site is great but is only one person at a time and if someone leaves their stuff then no one can use the washer/dryer so you have to wait around.
Very good reception arriving after midnight.Good beds and breakfast and very central location The bar closing on Sunday, automatic beverage boxes out of order.
Very conveniently located to the train station. Good breakfast. The beds were terrible--the linens were rough. The room was sterile, with no character.
Very nice and clean place! Good location right in the heart of the old town!
Convenient, clean, recommendable
Very good hotel all together it was all very comfortable. we had a pleasant stay. one lamp defectuous and phone not working and biew not extraordinary. but nothing important
very friendly and helpful staff, excellent meal at the restaurant, quiet but close and easy to get to main city of Bern
the desigh of room, it is really individualistic and also quite big.
The Hotel was very pleasant with attentive staff on arrival, clean and very presentable room, good location 5 minute taxi or tram to the city centre.
Great hotel very modern big rooms, breakfast was very poor for a 4 star hotel, internet expensive at 25chf for 1 day
Very well presented room and great facilities, quality fittings. Could have been air-conditioned - Room was a bit too warm for our liking.
Parking lot is good. Easy access (by car) to the center of Bern. Overall the hotel looks nice. The room was a bit dirty. There were two situatons were the cleaning people simply entered in my room without knocking.
Hotel Sternen Muri is a very nice hotel near to the beautifil Paul Klee Zentrum. We had a large room with very tasteful and comfortable furniture. Although arriving at a late hour we could still enjoy a glass of wine on the terrace. Very friendly service. In the rooms at the front one hears the tram passing when windows are open. Breakfast was not well organised.
Total staff availability and professionalism and excellent cuisine and location/ease of travel to city centre.
Location of hotel was outside city and a tram ride into the centre (Excellent timetable) provided good direct access without the need for a car. Good breakfast and helpful staff with excellent English. Easy access to motorway and leafy surroundings. Free internet access point Restaurant closed during stay but hotel advised of that before we arrived and very few alternatives locally unless you took tram into Bern in the evening.
just about everything - good and quiet location with an easy & short bus ride to center town; excellent restaurant (ate there both nights) with wonderfull waiter n/a
Fine hotel Poor service from Booking.com!
Beautiful decor - nice old, historical hotel. Great location just minutes away by bus to downtown Bern. Room was spacious with lovely views of Bern. Very friendly staff.
Lovely setting. Great evening meal. None
beautiful hotel staff location parking presence of jazz club on site extra rate for breekfast
calm, food, environment, service lack of english spoken
Really good food, large room and bathroom. Very comfortable and well decorated. Carpet in room was pretty worn down, but still clean.
The ambiance of the room was so romantic. It is a pity that we couldn't stay longer but we hope to as soon as possible.
Rooms, staff and location were wonderful. We really enjoyed our stay at Innere Enge and would highly recommend this hotel.
junior suite well-furnished and comfortable; practical bathroom; jazz theme throughout hotel with concert at times during year; very convenient for railway station - 21 bus stops outside hotel; air conditioning appreciated; good terrace with restaurant overlooking city and distant mountains; very quiet location. Good English spoken throughout Nothing!!
proximity to the transport No breakfast provided
Location, It was close to the purpose of my visit, and quiet, with a beautiful view. To hot when entering the room.
I definetely liked the position, just 6 stops far from the city center and the SPA area very comfortable after a businees day. The receptionists were all very kind and helpful. None
It is an löusy and awful place.Rooms are small.Breakfast a dismail.
Very little. The room was too small especially with a cot in there. The shower/toilet was in a cubicle in the room very little privacy if you wanted it. I would not stay there again and I would not recommend it. Too expensive for what we got.
Good price, free parking, location Cleanliness, smell in the room, entrance to underground car park very narrow,
Spa. Handy for transport,Quiet Poor choice of food for Room Service
Nothing in particular! The location, the quality. This is not 4**** hotel!
location & reasonable rates; convenient parking lobby smells of cigarette smoke--but (non-smoking) room was fine
We had a great view. Rooms very quiet considering closeness to centre.. Very handy for getting into Bern Centre. It took us a while to find our way to the hotel even with a good map. But there was a lot of road work around Bern.
Good helpfull staff who tried hard to be .The location of the hotel was convenient for the centre of town but also quite close to the lake . Parking was a bit difficult to locate. The hotel was on a busy street and a bit noisy at night.
Room was nice and clean. Breakfast was good. Room was small. We had booked froom for 2 adults + 2 children but when we arrived they said they have no suitable rooms so had to hastily squeeze a sofa bed in our room which made it a bit tight for space and the kids had to share a bed. I was given a different meal from what I had ordered when we dined in the restaurant. It took a long time for the right meal to come.
Loud music from the club below
Very nice room; excellent breakfest
Staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Beautiful rooms, comfortable beds. Great location next to the canal, which was very convenient. Free outside parking. An excellent value overall. WiFi, although free in public areas, costs CHF 25. per night extra in the rooms, which seems a bit steep.
It is the best hotel in Biel, but that doesn't mean much as in general hotel standards in Biel are not that high... Small room and smaller bathroom
Nice staff and room confort It was not information about how to contact the reception by phone
Location. Staff not particularly friendly. Restaurant closed every weekend. Room service but no room service menu to order breakfast...staff very unhelpful concerning this. Pillows and duvet synthetic so very hot. Room hot even when heater turned off. Have to pay for wi-fi in the rooms.
Good situation Room was very small. Fitness room had very few equipment. Breakfast was expensive.
