Both the hotel and staff were first class the shower in the bathroom did not work property and water leaked on the floor
Beach is close to hotel Hotel with 5 stars? Xa xa ! Good joke! 3 maby.
everything about this hotel was first class no
We got a free room upgrade for our honeymoon. The private jaguzzi outside room need to be pressed continuously, not good to use. Room is big and space but price is expensive. Breakfirst is ok.
Friendly staff to whom no request was a problem. Relaxing atmosphere. Comfortable, stylish suite. Well kept and beautiful pool area with comfortable loungers. Good and varied breakfast buffet. Reasonably priced bar snacks. Lovely place to stay. Not like is too strong but the description 'fully equipped kitchenette' is typically Greek and not very accurate i.e. shortage of cutlery and no cooking or bread knife. Not a problem as we didn't cook!
Excellent hotel, pleasent staff, good position, very good breakfast Old tv
Friendliness of the staff
The accommodation was very nice and exactly like the photos on the internet. Great location too. Plumbing in the hotel was not very good, in particular the drainage system.
Friendly staff and quite, relaxing hotel. Very comfortable rooms and pool. Good value for money.
The Tamarix is a little piece of heaven. The staff is friendly and always ready to help and at the same time can be like a freind that you have known. The honeymoon suite was ideal for romance and the room was very comfortable. Unfortunately, the wonderful tub\shower\jacuzzi floaded the bathroom everytime we showered. We just adjusted by not having anything on the floor as the water drained away quickly, all in all it was a minor problem that if they fixed would make this hotel perfect perfect perfect.
While the rooms, facilities and general atmosphere at Tamarix del Mar were all quite lovely, the real stand out was the service. Georgia, Demi, George and their staff all went out of their way to make our stay as amazing as possible. My wife and I stayed here on the second leg of our Santorini trip and had just come from staying a few nights at the Absolute Bliss Hotel in Imerovigli (on the other side of the island). Unbeknownst to us, both hotels had the same owner, and we could really tell from the quality of the service. As we mentioned in our review of Absolute Bliss, the service there was utterly outstanding, and the service at Tamarix lived up to the high expectations created by its sister hotel. So if you're staying in Kamari, we would definitely recommend staying at Tamarix -- the service alone makes it well worth it.
The staff were very helpfull, the room was clean and so close to everything.
We stayed there for over a week.It was wonderful, hotel staff especially the guy at reception is very friendly, helpful and polite. All the facilities written on web site were provided. Bathroom did not have shower curtain, but it was a major problem as it room and bathroom were cleaned everyday.Breakfast menu could have some more options.
Great stuff, from day one until we left. beautiful rooms, clean minimal Greek atmosphere. Will visit again for sure! a real 5 start hotel. None
The hotel is close to the beach, clean and a good price. The service was very poor. There was no one at the hotel for 20 minutes when we checked in, so we had to wait for the manager to return from a break. The manager was again gone in the morning when we wanted to check out. The hotel is also difficult to find, with no listed street address.
I realy enjoy my stay in this hotel very close (1min walk) to the beach, resto, stores, market easy to go to fira and oia by bus and the bus stop is just beside the hotel. The pool was very nice and the room was clean and modern very nice choice to stay in santorini The breakfeast was always the same thing
friendly staff and good value and beautiful gardens breakfast could have had some sweet bakery
The hotel was in a fantastic location. Shops, convenient stores, bus stop, and the beach were all within walking distance. The hotel was very clean and quant with a family-like atmosphere. Overall, a great experience.
The best hotel I've been to in Greece so far, everything was perfect! Excellent location, very close to the beach, restaurants, supermaket and bus stop to Thira just around the corner. Spacious rooms with very comfortable beds, modern design, very nice bathroom. The owner & staff were very helpful. Buffet breakfast was delicious, especially thanks for Greek yoghurt with honey :-) Very nice garden & big swimming pool. Great value for money. I'd definitely recommend Hippocampus as the best Greek B&B I've been to.
Very good location. This is the best town to be in Santorini. Best price/location ratio. Nice night promenade. Close to every facility. Very nice owner. Smallest bathroom is not possible... too bad.
Well maintained, clean hotel, just one minute walk from the beach. Friendly, helpful staff. Very good value for the money, would recommend to everyone
hotel was very clean and comfortable with spacious rooms. staff were very friendly and helpful, missed toast at breakfast! breakfast was fine but an occasional change would have been nice.
Amazing location, great pool, clean and great value for money Handheld shower a little awkward
Convenient location, small family style accomodations Room selection is key. I think rates should reflect an ocean-view vs non ocean view distinction
A wonderful place -- the hotel is immaculate with a beautiful pool, a nice breakfast, and comfortable rooms. It is also just a half-a-block to the beach. The hotel staff was extremely courteous and helpful
We had a great stay at the Lilium. The staff was very nice and helpful, the room was clean, the views were amazing, its location is a bit far from the town, but not too bad. Breakfast was good also. All in all a fantastic stay there. The bathroom had a dampy smell.
The view was spectacular! The entire hotel staff was wonderful! We will stay there everytime we visit Santorini and recommend it to anyone visiting the island. No
The view of the sea is excellent, so is the staff! Really doesn't get any better in my opinion. Greece is very beautiful in general, but is not a cheap trip! Local's complain about the Euro and it's impact on travel & their cost of living.
View from the hotel is fantastic Far from Fira, about 20 minutes walk! Easily solved when rented a bike.
beautiful,sea sight yes
the wiev, the breakfast, the pool area, The too long distance to the city
A lovely comfortable hotel with fantastic views, the breakfast and dining area was very pleasant, again with wonderful views the food and service was good The hotel is situated a little to far from the town for us to walk and even though the hotel offers free transport it is limited
Magnificent view to the caldera, comfortable spacious room (suite 303), nice pool and surrounding area. Friendly staff. It's quite a distance to reach Fira! There is, however, spacious parking space. The bathroom was too small and rather uncomfortable.
Very nice staff any beautifull view Beds were to hard on my old back :o)
First would have to be the fantastic view. The staff and service was terrific and it would have to be one of the best places to go to in this big world of ours. Absolutely loved it !!!!
It is near the water and in Kamari, many restaurants and shops. I booked a junior suite, but the gave me a regular room. After complaining, the manager gave me the suite that I had originally very bad. We have to buy coffee outside of the hotel.
The location of the hotel is outstanding and our room was very beautiful. The excellent staff made our vacation there memorable. We loved everything!
The location was central to all restaurants, shops, etc. And that's about the only good thing I can say about this place. The staff was rude and completely unwilling to help. Our room smelled so strongly of sulfur that we had to sleep with the windows and doors open, which caused the a/c to stay off. Our room was completely cramped and tiny, our a/c leaked water all over the floor, and it felt like we were staying in an institution. It is far from the spa hotel feel that their website depicts. We were highly disappointed.
I found the hotel very comfortable, the room was a good size and very clean, they even seemed to have a scent in the air conditioning unit as the room smelt lovely every day. The staff were very attentive and helpful and very pleasant. I will definately be visiting the hotel again, this year hopefully.
is a really modern clean and confortable hotel, good service and perfect location
Close distance to the beach - We have booked a suite but the hotel gave us a simple twinbed room! Switching to the suite didn't make sense either, because what they called suite was only a doublebed room with an extra sofa(!) and no balcony and view. - Altough not stated during booking, the hotel did charge the total amount from our credit card in advance without prior consent.
The hotel staff was very responsive when approached with a problem: across the street a dog was on a leash and barking the whole night. It woke the guests up (myself included) and kept them awake. We approached the night manager about this who then had the problem rectified for the rest of the stay.
quiet and so close to the sea side.
Good location, nice chairs at the beach. Restaurant at the beach was fantastic. Would not go back. The bathroom smelled like sewer, and we had to develop strategies to air out the room. Bathroom was poorly lit. We asked for two room keys but the second one did not work. The maintenance man was too busy to ever get a second one made for us. They ran out of beach towels at the pool and could not give us any others, so we had to buy beach towels
Central to what we wanted to do. Great staff. They upgraded us without us aking so we were very pleased.
the pool is great and a great escape from the heat the bathrooms were quite basic
Great location, quiet but a quick walk to the beach. Staff was really friendly, helpful and informative. Breakfast was nice too.
Great location, good pool, pretty gardens, nice family atmosphere, good breakfast and bar service, quiet at night.
Very helpful staff, very friendly, hotel very clean.
Staff where extremely helpful and pleasant. The hotel is perfectly run and is very laid back. Beautiful setting. Breakfast was a little dissapointing. It was the same every day.
Didn't like the fact you couldn't have the balcony doors open and the airconditioning on at the same time which meant for a completely dark room!! ....The staff were not helpful at all when running late for a ferry to catch and fobbed us off in our frantic panic to get to the ferry in time with 45mins still up our sleave, but instead said sorry too late, catch another ferry in 3 days time.....wouldn't call a taxi and we ourselves found across the road, a transfer place to the port after 20minutes of mucking around with these people!
This was the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in! Staff were wonderful ands helpful and breakfast was lovely. All in all, very good and we would return Shwer was small and enclosed by curtain. Uncomfortable to use
The location is great. Very nice staff. Convenient to public transportation. The pool is great and so is the breakfast. I would have liked staying longer. I would highly recommend this hotel. The shower stall is quite small. If your a tall person, it will be cramped.
The staff were very helpful. Our room had a balcony with a nice view of the hotel pool & mountain. It was 5 minutes walk to the beach & very close to restaurants & shops. Nice continental breakfast to be had on an outside patio.
Great family-run hotel, located close enough to the beach without being over-run by other tourists, extremely clean and v helpful staff
it was "home away from home".
The complimentatry bottle of wine, which was left in our room whilst we were at dinner. Though, we didn't end up drinking it. Rooms were a decent size, and we had good views of the beach. Breakfast was good, and there was a good variety. It was located at the top of the village, and an easy walk to the beach, bar and taverns. * Lack of wifi access in the rooms. * There was no soap in the bathrooms (though this may have been forgotten about...as it was off-season). *Some of the hotel facilities you have to pay extra for (such as the sauna). * The hotel doesn't offer airport/port pick-up.
the hotel is amazing! its very new and the sea-view room has a wonderful view of the village and the sea. the location is not in the middle of the town but very nearby the beach. the room is very well decorated and the facilities are excellent. if the hotel can clealy indicate their names in english it woukld be great. i have some troubles in finding the hotel as the board in front of the hotel has the "Epavlis" written in greek letters.
Beautiful views of Kamari bay. The design of the hotel is unusual and attractive. When things went a bit wrong, they weren't dealt with very professionally.
The staff were excellent. The receptionist Cathrine is an asset to the hospitality business
New and spacious room. Nice view of the pool and beach. Lack of description of the hotel location makes it difficult to locate when we first arrived.
the building is quite new, like palace,i felt very comfortable and enjoy a bit hard for fashion shopping, cause out of the season shops are all closed
friendliness of the barman at the pool to his guests, and the eficiency of the cleaning not much selection of food
A supurb hotel with great staff and everything you could need.
Friendly staff and the cleanliness. The breakfast could be imporved to include fresh fruit / juices and just a better selection.
Ths staff was quite warm hearted, always smiling. The bath room was not equiped well enough. No shelf for towels. No bath tube and the water curtain is too small. Water always spills out to floor.
The staff was very friendly in a personal way. The room was clean and spacious. Breakfast had everything we wanted and much more.Very nice pool and atmosphere. Breakfast : the coffee was undrinkable so we ordered a capuccino every morning from the bar. Atmosphere : if you are looking for party and fun, choose another hotel. Here everything is quiet and relaxing in a loungy-kind-of-way.
Cannot fault it. Great service, would book again.
Everything about the hotel was great, rooms spacious, cleaned daily and left with fresh towels. Air conditioning was included in the room rate (unlike most other Greek island hotels who charge for this). Staff (Adriana & Elena) were very pleasant and friendly and who couldn't do enough for our 2 small children (6 & 4), they always had a smile on their faces and often chopped up some fresh fruit for them to sit at the poolside bar out of the sun. The hotel is in a great location, so choice of lounging around the pool or 1 minute walk to the beach. Breakfast was included in our stay and had a good choice of hot and cold options that caters for most nationalities preferences. All in all a good hotel and would stay there again.
Location, friendliness and efficiency of staff in arranging cars, buses, etc... Swimming pool water was too cold
The hotel was very nice generally. It was clean, very nice location and the staff was friendly and able to answer to any queries. Additionally, late check out was offered.
The good service and atmosphere. Very friendly personal. nothing
Perfect stay! Very friendly staff. Nice hotel. Clean - inside/outside. Poolarea is modern and cool, often accompanied with soft backgroundmusic. Beach is very close, 50m, with a lot of restaurants. They say beach is better further down but we found it to be so much more crowded that we prefered this side of the beach. The planes didn't disturbed us cause there are not too many arrivals/day. It sure added some excitement though. The bus to Thira is a 10 min walk. In Thira - dinner can be very expensive! The romantic Rest Estiatopio (on the way down to the harbour) charged 2 pers eur 4 for butter to the bread (!!!). You think the bread was included? Nope! Bread eur 2. Tomatosallad eur 18. Cactusdrink (no alcohol) eur 10 each. Fish - omg!!
The pools was very nice and close to the beach. The location of the hotel was far from center, so you either needed a scooter to move around or then the busses, which didn't go so frequently. There is wrong information about the hotels location, at www.booking.com it looks like it is directly in the center but it is in the halfway of the Santorini airport.
The room was lovely and it had a very nice balcony. The pools were great! Delicious breakfast. Not in walking distance to any restaurants or shops.
it had a good pool area the location is very bad. It was my first time in Santorini and i didnot realize the location would be so dull and boring. there were no restaurants closeby and the hotel was very isolated.far from any entertainment or civil life. it looked very depressing. there was only one person at the reception and noone to carry the luggage to our bedrooms. Thus i had to carry the heavy suitcase to the basement all by myself. during the booking i chose a room with a balcony but they moved us in the basement.I left the hotel next day.It was too depressing/isolated. According to the booking.com if i cancelled the hotel one day before arrival i would have to pay 50% of the total duration but the manager demanded i pay full. Finally he agreed.Horrible hote
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Helped us with our plans and answered our queries very well. None, everything was pleasant.
Swimming pool, large rooms well equipped, Too near to the airport (landings)
The facility was very well kept, everything clean. We stayed for 4 days, it would have been nice to have a little variety in the morning breakfast.
Staff was friendlky and helpful with my many questions. Free Internet access from my room and lobby. Nice breakfast. Family oriented w/ nice pool and 2 minute walk to an awesome black beach. Must Do. None
We enjoyed lots about our stay. The room was a great size with a nice balcony looking over pool. The pool area was excellent and spotless. Staff were very helpful and happy and the location was great with transport to other areas of the island close by.
Very pleasantly surprised with the hotel. Had a wonderful time. The staff was excellent and very helpful. The room was large and comfortable with a balconey overlooking the pool. The breakfast was fantastic. The only negative was they dont keep tea coffe makers, like most hotels in Asia and europe.
nice pool and close to beaches, within walking distance to many places to eat, shop, and beach, can rent cars, etc across the street from hotel Electricity stopped along with water on May 18th (fro about 15 minutes). Internet was not free although we had our own laptop so not comparable with other hotels. Beds not comfortable as could feel coils/springs. Towels rather old, too
Swimming pools, near to the beach and airport
We loved this hotel. The family was so nice. The room was super clean and the location is great! From a bottle of wine delivered to our room when we check in to a goodbye gift of fresh Oregano picked from the family garden. A truly wonderful experience.
1 Star hotel that lists itself as 4 star, Antinea has a well intentioned Manager, but she was incapable of addressing the major issue that the hotel is marketed as a 4 star and lives up to the low standard of a 1 star. A few rooms are located right inside the front door of the hotel, so all the noises in the lobby are heard in the rooms. Our room was old, small, and in need of repair. The bad smell from the toilet water was unbearable, and the weak air conditioning and frequent power outages do little to help. The manager acknowledged the odor as typical for Santorini and instructed us to sleep with the sliding door open. The limited light fixtures are all so old and weak, keeping the room dark and dreary. The room was not properly cleared of previous guests garbage and sheets before our being given the room and told it was 'clean.' The Antinea's idea of clean is a very different standard than what most people would expect. After finally getting moved to a different room, that room also had major flaws that a 4 star hotel would not have. For example, a shower that was a converted closet with a wood door, the water spilling out in to flood the rest of the bathroom. Again, the manager acknowledged the shortcomings of the hotel but said, "I can't do anything to change the structure of the rooms." No, I suppose she can't, but she could be honest and tell guests this is a 1 star hotel, a 1 star experience, and stop claiming that you will get 4 star service. Be aware that in order to get to the beach you must walk on a hill in the hot sun for approx 18 minutes, although the hotel staff will claim the walk is 10 minutes. If you ask to arrange to go somewhere by hotel car, the answer is no, you will be given directions on how to walk to the public city bus and told that is the fastest means of transport... which it is not. Although they claim they have internet, it is working 0% of the time. Which is to say, it never worked, not for my stay, or any other guests I spoke to. My suggestion, do not book this hotel, no matter how cheap the pricing is. You will end up staying at this 1 star hotel, and ruining your vacation. I wish the manager and staff well, I hope they are able to leave this hotel and stop having to lie to guests, it must be hard on them to deal with all the complaints. There were a line of people constantly at the front desk trying to get things fixed in their rooms or complaining about the horrible odor and power outages.
