Courtesy of the staff and strategic location near the main beashes of the west coast of crete (Balos, Falasarna...). Very relaxing environment and typical greek style.
Breakfast: tasty, yummy & unique; not to be missed. Room: quite traditional. Restaurant: well maintained & aesthetically furnished. Good value for money. Location: great for visting Balos lagoon, Falasarna & the rest of W.Crete. Bathroom: needs improvement; water leaked during our stay. TV: old & v.few channels. Food@lunch/dinner: just ok; not great. Bar on location wasn't open.
The location was superb in an unspoilt Cretan village. It was also close to the historic site of Falasarna, which was well worth a visit. Room was spacious with a pleasant balcony offering distant sea views. Bathroom needs refurbishing. Water was cold, as weather was not sunny and warm enough for solar heating, but hotel should make alternative heating arrangments.
Good position, easy way to reach Balos e Falasarna. Great confort and food. Quality/price ok.
The location is great, with a big terrace with sea view. The Hotel is also a restaurant conduced by Eftihia, with excellent food (don't miss "Goat with Honey" and "Meat Balls"). The breakfast was one of the best we've ever done (ask for "Kaliviani Breakfast", with delicious yogurt with honey, fruits, and other things). All the staff was incredible kind, specially Giannis who helped us with the strike gasoline problem. During our 4 nights, room was cleaned just one day and towels were not changed. If you are a couple, mind that they have only twin beds, that cannot be united without a gap in the middle. In any case, these problems were very little things compared to all the other positive things.
greek hotels are not normally as comfortable in the islands as the libyan princess. I enjoyed the comfort the thing there could have been were maybe a couple of computers which could be paid for by the hour or half hour
Nice hotel, great swimmingpool! breakfast ok, but a same that the fruits came out a can, crete has wonderfull fresh fruits.
Serviceminded staff, they will tell you all you need, where to eat something special, how to travel easy and cheap on land or sea, and take a phone or send a mail for you if needed.
We had a nice time in this hotel. The reception was verry friendly.
Pleasant position, nice rooms Orange juice to be paid as an extra for breakfast
Great value for the price
Friendly staff. location was pretty good
Fantastic! Really friendly, clean and helpfull !!! Is a great family hotel. The beachs are only at 5 minutes by walk. Fantastico, Pulito, personale cordiale e servizievole. la spiaggia a solo 5 minuti di camminata. Un bellissimo albergo Nothing
the very nice ambiente and the beautiful garden, nice staff, located near to the center of the village and the beach, very quite the water was not always (normal day time) warm
The rooms have been recently renovated, they are large and the washroom is confortable and relatively modern. We had a top-floor room with balcony, which we liked very much.
A typically Greek small hotel. The staff were particularly friendly and helpful. Built at the far end of town, near to the harbour, it is unfortunate that the hotel rooms enjoy only a restricted sea view. The distance is not a real issue - only a short walk to the bars and restaurants
I liked the location. Very close to beach and town centre. I liked the facilities (breakfast, wifi, lounge, clean rooms, air-condition). No comments to make! All really satisfactory.
Everything, especially the staff. Rose, our waitress, was absolutely wonderful. We can't wait to go back! The beds were a little uncomfortable, but this wouldn't deter me from going there again.
For a a start, the name Balos Beach Hotel should not be applied to this hotel as it is located around 7 km from the famous beach (very misleading). No point of going there if you don't have a car. The road to the beach is a perilous dirt track on the cliff. The hotel did not offer food but it had a beautiful menu in the room. Breakfast which was not an option on Booking.com was offered to us for £7.00 after the lady said she had only toast. The nearest village Kaliviani is 1km away with 1 tavern and lots of dogs and the nearest supermarket 5km away. 3stars???? The owner did not want to refund us the last night as we wanted to leave one day earlier, saying Booking.com would not allow it in their contract. It's a no go for me..
I liked its position, the view from the balcony The kitchen was scarcely equipped; at a rate of more than 80 euros per night one expects to be shown the room, to be explained how things work, etc.. but they simply took us to the room and bye; the fridge was disconnected when we arrived; they offered a free wifi access to customers with a laptop but there was no pc available to the public, which is strange since nowadays all hotels provide this service
The staff was great! Extremely helpful and nice. The pictures online are a little misleading which happens a lot, but they really make you think you are getting more for your money than you really are.
the climitazion may be better
The hotel is located close to the port. We wanted to take a trip to Gramvousa - hotel booked it for us. On emptying the bath we flooded the bathroom! Need to look at floor levels to help drainage or use a different slower emptying bath plug
Clean Building is not nice. Location is not very nice, although good base to visit Gramvousa, Balos.
Swimming pool Check-in: We were not expected on their planning!! Noise : Hermes hotel is on the main road. Environment : very poor, no flower, plastic grass near the pool, no tree!!
The hotel is good for visiting the beach around (elafonissi, balos, falassarna) The staff is not good and speak no english
It was very quite and the location was idea for seeing the sights. The pool was very nice and well maintained. The staff was helpful and professional. The buffet breakfast was a bit lacking and they advertised internet throughout the entire building, which was not the case.
The staff were very kind. The breakfast was very poor.
Quiet place near the beach, perfect for the relaxation. The host is very friendly, and all hotel has amicable atmosphere.
Everybody was really nice. They clean the rooms everyday. Simple but well preserved furniture. The sheets were superclean and the beds a bit hard but comfortable. Fridge on the room, AC not included on the price. The breakfast was great and you can have it next to the amazing and clean pool. Quiet rooms. Easy to find from the main road of Kissamos, for us was the perfect spot to investigate the West coast with a car. If you don't have a car this is not your place unless you plan to stay here or around Kissamos. Tje restaurant wasn't very cheap.
If you look for the luxury, the apartments Mediterraneans don't do for you. The Mediterraneans apartments have the main point instead, together with the cleaning, to the climate, and above all to the gentleness of the Sig. Dimitri, of his wife and of the waiters.
Friendly owners! Simple but nice breakfast served next to the pool in open space. Nice pool and very quiet beach with free beds and parasols. Rooms/terrace are spacy and recently build. For us the location was very good because the hotel is situated at the countryside (quiet/nature), but if you want to go to Kissamos town you need to be motorised because the road is not adapted for pedestrians, a taxi could bring solution here. We havn't got any complains but it would be nice if the towels would be changed e.g. every 3 days.
the pool far from the village (by foot)
Quiet and close to the beach with a sea view from the studio Being mothballed for winter so no facilitiies
the hospitality and kindness of the owner. Excellent breakfast, worth the 6 euros paid for it. no shower curtains in the bathroom
We were very warmly welcomed by Manolis and family on arrival, and a request for an upper floor room was met. We had an L-shaped corner balcony with lovely views of the sea/mountains. Our room was spotless, and well-equipped with aircon, hotplate and large fridge. We always had hot water, regardless of the time of day. The lift is a bonus for taking luggage up and down, and for anyone with mobility difficulties. The breakfast was very good value at 6 euros, and consisted of fresh bread, fruits and juice, tea/coffee, yogurt, omlettes, cheese, ham and cake! The hotel overlook the beach and you can go to sleep to the sound of the waves...very relaxing. Overall, a fantastic, relaxing and hospitable stay - there are many return visitors. There was nothing to dislike at all in our opinion.
very quiet peaceful atmosphere, individual treatment to every guest, hospitality, arrangement of various interesting trips within Crete tasty but unvaried breakfast
It is a remote vacation area with rugged mountains located on a large bay of the Med in western Crete. Beautiful area. Owner is wonderful. Beds are a bit hard.
Owner and son very helpful, some rooms more spacious than others, nice views from west facing rooms.
this hotel is true value for money. Helpful staff, really nice breakfast by the sea, clean rooms, seaview from any balcony. And the most important for us was it's position within quite short distance to discover balos, falassarna and elafonisi beaches. to change the beds, they are comfortable for people shorter than 185cm))) to improve wi-fi coverage
Perfect for those who like to sleep listening to the sound of the sea!The hotel is literally on the beach..The rooms are very clean and the service excellent! The owners are very friendly, ready to give any piece of advice for "must" places to visit and good cretan food!
Very warm welcome with glass of orange and cake before being shown to room. Superb breakfast on patio overlooking beach. Side sea view from room balcony, and communal balcony with full sea view.Useful facilities in room with hotplates, fridge and sink. Generally quiet, relaxing, friendly.
The Galini Beach hotel was superb! We were very fortunate to get the best room in the hotel (I think it was Room 225?) with fabulous views out over the sea (from our large balcony both to the back and to the side). The hotel is very peaceful, and drifting off to sleep with nothing but the sound of the waves lapping onto the shore was perfect. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and the excellent breakfasts well worth the 5 euro charge. There is also plenty of parking. Overall an absolute bargain! Thoroughly recommended.
Excellent cleanliness. Exquisite and personalized treatment, very friendly owners.
Hotel was so clean and smart we thought it was brand new. In fact it is 30+ years old! Family were friendly, polite, spoke good English and clearly worked very hard. Not really, but I think grandad (a lovely man) should probably now hand over all reception work to the next generation and enjoy his retirement.
Good location for beach and waterfront tavernas. Friendly staff and great little pool. Nice relaxed atmosphere.
Good staff. Quiet and well-heated.Everything is within walking distance. A bit too pricy for a stay during February in a Cretan hotel in a small town.
Great hotel in excellent location. Very friendly staff helped us organise an excursion to the nearby Balos lagoon. Room clean and tidy. Superb bar and pool facilities. 5-10 mins walk into Kissamos town centre and beach.
The staff service was excellent
It was very handy for a late-night arrival by ferry- quite close to the port. Its also not far to walk to the bus station. Very nice atmosphere and pool area. Very helpful and freindly staff. spotlessly clean, largish bathroom. the only point I can fault it on is not accepting credit cards
The courtesy of the satff, nice view on the pool in the inside garden; good breakfast. very clean room and great bathroom The location is easy to find on the main road, but a bit far form the seaside and center of kissamos
We will always stay at the Kissamos Hotel when visiting Kastelli Kissamou. It's elegant without being pretentious and is run by two charming brothers. It's situated in the main street of this very nice ordinary Greek working town - not too touristy, which suits us fine - but it's only a short walk to the sea and it has a nice swimming pool. Excellent and reasonably priced. Absolutely nothing.
The newly renovated bathrooms were great and made the 70s era decor of the main room all the more charming. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the bakery 2 blocks away was fantastic - Go there!!
The apartment was confortable and it had a wonderfull view on kastelli sea furthermore it had a fantastic balcony in which you can make very romantic dinners. The structure is old as well as the internals of the apartment.
The complex of apartments and rooms is located on a hill, surrounded by flowers and trees. We had a top floor apartment with a balcony overlooking the sea and Gramvousa island. The kitchenett was fully equipped, so we had two wonderful homemade dinners on our balcony. The owner welcomes us warmly and assisted us in many ways during our stay. The apartment was spacious, clean. The washroom a bit old but functional. The AC was perfect but not necessary since we had a nice wind blowing in every night from the sea.
Beautiful views from the terrace and balcony; silence; a small beach nearby. The hotel looks like a green oasis among adust hills. Sufficient distance to a comfortable beach. Access to Internet is not available.
Nice panorama.Good place for relax.Nice lemon trees in the garden. Nice flowers on the balcony. Cool rooms. Small insects could come in to the bathroom through the window.
- the hotel needs a bit of refreshment, things are getting old there. - the hotel didn't include breakfest
Beautiful view, kindness of the owner and of Mrs. Maria none
I had the most relaxing and amazing time at the apartment which is excellently located by the little port from where our family went to gramvousa, balos lagoon, the most stunning beach I've ever been. nice relaxing, quiet and friendly staff, the owner mr. manolis even gave us some Cretan food to try! The cleaning lady didn't take the tip we left for her on the bed because she thought we dropped it by accident. Most pleasant stay ever. Definetly will return. Nothing at all.
The place has seem better times, and there is only one eldrly owner around the place .Plus the cleaning lady. But there were no other guests and, at night, the garden was quite fascinating from our balcony. Like being invited in a somewhat unkept old villa. I think that the answer in the box before replies also tho this question. Although I clicked by mistake on the relevant item, I did not read any guest review
