I thought that the hotel staff were excellent and did what they could to make our staff extremely enjoyable I know that the hotel is new, but the spa is really not up to scratch for a hotel that promotes itself as a spa hotel. The facilities are not good, there is no literature in terms of the treatments that are available, one of the staff members was very conscientious (Michelle), but the other one was really not interested and the only thing she seemed to be keen on was leaving as soon as the treatment was finished! Another example, for a manicure, the spa only had 6 choices of nail vanish and 2 of those are clear!
Close enough to the mainland to minimise the possibility of being stuck on the island by bad weather. Clean, comfortable and good food. Nice beach. I was overcharged by 10%! My own fault as I had misplaced my copy of the Booking.com reservation sheet. I found it later and realised the error. No prior advice that I would have to telephone the resort from Mersing to confirm that we had arrived and were waiting for their boat - there is no office/agent at Mersing. An agent from another Pulau Besar resort kindly offered assistance or we would have been stuck. Boat left 1.5 hours after scheduled time. We wanted to go snorkeling but the resort will only run the boat with 8 people. No assistance/maps with any walking tracks around the island. No advice that generator changes over 2x each day & you need to reset the circuit breaker for A/C - also the unlabeled hot water switch.
