the staff were excellent helpful friendly polite rooms were clean tidy ample room quiet easy to get arounnd town from
Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent location for sightseeing
Location ok if you go by car. Near public parking, security?? Friendly staff. The rooms overrated. Could depend on the location inside the city wealls. The breakfast was plentiful and good.
The hotel is peaceful and quiet during my stay. We had a nice and clean room. Very close to the castle and other main attractions.
Business took me to the small town of Kaplice. The pension was a nice, quiet, out of the way place to stay and actually relax. The hotel had a very good breakfast. Although dinner was available, we chose to go to the nearby town which afforded several choices of "restaurace's". We had a pleasant meal with few interruptions. Although the internet WIFI worked quiet well in the dining area, it had limited range and didn't reach all rooms.
The staff is very nice and helpful. The chef is a genious
The people running the hotel were very welcoming and instantly put guests at ease. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and must commend everyone for making our stay very enjoyable.
Beautiful location, friendly staff, very good, familiar atmosphere. The room was simple, but spacious and comfortable, food was good. Highly recommended.
Clean and friendly hard to find the hotel
Friendly staff with excellent english, able to recommend things to do in the local area. Unseasonably cold weather meant that the rooms were slightly chilly.
It´s a nice building in a beautiful countryside. Rooms are clean, well equipped, spacious and quiet. Owners/employes are ok. However, some minor (but important) aspects we didn´t like. A copy of our ID card was taken (which is a bit odd - given the fact, that credit card details were provided through booking.com and we arrived in a car with foreign diplomatic registration). Location of the room No. 1 is awful (on the ground floor between the sliding door, reception and entrance to the restaurant - we didn´t even see the interior of the building - which might well be the best asset of this hotel. A bit disappointing, given the fact the hotel didn´t look overbooked...A three percent fee is added to credit card payments (I didn´t mind the money but I think this aspect is embarassing both to clients and owners)... Please, take this more as a friendly advice to owners
Great host, lovely rooms, fantastic food, good deal. Friendliest people we met anywhere in Czech Republic, except that owners are Dutch ex-pats. A bit hard to find
Very friendly and helpful staff. Very quiet and peaceful setting and clean room. Near (go across the backyard) to hiking trail so you can have a nice leasure walk. Hotel's restaurant open all day. Breakfast buffet well garnished. Food at the hotel's restaurant is uneven in quality atnight. Either very good or very poor.
The hotel is situated on the river directly across from the Castle. It's a perfect, very scenic, location and everything is within walking distance. The staff, room, and breakfast, along with the reasonable room rate (59 Euros), will definitely bring us back to this hotel.
it was difficult to found the parking area
Excellent location. The rooms facing the river have perfect views of the castle. Parking is somewhat of a pain (you have to drive through the "pedstrian-only" town and then around in a big circle), but that's outweighed by the location in the heart of the town.
Superb location. Nice room. Couple of burnt out light bulbs in room. TV remote control did not work well. Breakfast service was not up to four star standard.
The location, the receptionist...he was so helpful The shower needs a curtain and the towels were small and thin...lower than expectation for a 4* hotel
The hotel is in very nice location in town, situated by the river and, fi you're lucky, you'll get a great view of the castle from your room. The rooms are generally well-appointed. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The website details regarding car-parking are very misleading - there is no parking available on the street. If you want to park, you will be directed to a local brewery which is a 5 minute drive and then a 10 minute walk from the hotel - not great with luggage. However, the hotel staff are extremely helpful in explaining how the parking operates. Breakfast is pretty limited. Despite being in a very quiet old town, each vehicle which goes by over the cobblestone sounds very loud in the middle of the night.
It's in a very nice location just in front of the castle. The room was very nice. Yes, the parking is very far away from the hotel and very bad indicated. Also the staff doesn't speak good english and their explanations costed me a good fine because I did not park in the right place.
very good location, spacious room cleanliness is not exactly flawless, parking place is a bit far from the hotel
Excellent location, can viewCesky Krumlov Chateau from the window.
Good location! Good access to anywhere! Good cost performance! The various kinds of food at breakfast! Just in front of the castle across the river. The hotel staff prepared for the castle view and riverside room. We could see a wonderful view from the window! The room was really wide and comfortable!
Good value, modern, clean, friendly, helpful staff, close to town centre but quiet. Excellent breakfast included. Wi-Fi included. Good walks and off-road runs nearby. None
Very clean and close to the tourist areas. Breakfast was gooed with a range of choices. Air conditioning would have been handy but not having it did not detract from the stay
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was comfortable and spacious. Parking was available, free and easy. It was a bit of a walk from the old town, and the free wifi didn't work well.
It was very clean and we liked the layout of the hotel room. We had a loft where our kids slept. The breakfast was good and in general we were just happy with the location and cleanliness. Not one thing.
Very modern and great small hotel near the town.
this was a lovely choice for a family traveling with 2 kids. we stayed in the maisonette and we had a room down stairs and the kids had twin beds in the loft. the view of the castle was phenomenal and the walk into the town easy and gave us piece of mind when traveling with a car. they lock the gate for car security which with a rented car was important to us. the breakfast was abundant and everything was neat and clean in this only 2year old establishment. The hostess speaks excellent English and was a big help with inital directions. NO complaints here
Modern look & cleaniness. Spacious room. Design radiator to dry the towels.
I have stayed in Chesky Krumulov several times. This pension is the most confortable one. It will depend on that the builing is very new and the room is more wider than other pension.
The pension was clean, comfortable and cheap. All the necessary facilities were provided, including a good breakfast and plenty of hot water. All in all a very good bargain.
non what so ever
We had a lovely time here. Staff is very friendly, typical Czech breakfast is very good. Secure parking and easy access to the historical center within 10 minutes. Hotel is new and very clean. Much better option if you drive a car since many locations in the historical center do not offer parking or it is very limited.
The staff, although absent from the front desk for most of the time, was very kind and did everything to help us. The air con did not work in the middle of summer and we just got a breeze. The hotel has poor facilities and no elevators, so we had to face the stairs. Also, the rooms were not very clean.
The location of Hotel is quite good. no
Spacious apartment overlooking the main square. Very modern and clean bathroom with a big bath. We opted to stay an extra night. No lift. Have to park 10 miniutes walk away outside the historic centre, but it's a pleasant walk.
There is no question that the location of the hotel is its prime asset being located in the main piazza of the city centre. Drivers should know that cars are allowed into the city centre for the purpose of checking into a hotel. You then have to drive to a distant car park assisted by a taxi driver who drives ahead of you. Although this taxi service is free, the taxi return ride is not. Nor is the parking which commands a hefty daily charge and which you are not told about in advance. What annoyed me most however was the arbitary exchange rate (7% higher than the official rate) applied by the receptionist (despite my protestations) to convert the Euro price applicable at the time I booked my hotel into Czech Koruna.
The location is great, it's in the very heart of Cesky Krumlov. 10-15 minutes' walk from bus station, 5-10 minutes' walk from Cesky Krumlov Castle. The room was comfortable and clean, spacious compared to price. Good choice for that price.
Spacious, modern room. No lifts. But the staff carried our bags up.
Pretty new facilities and pleasant triple room. Breakfast is very good with excellent pastries. Just next to the square near the city centre. Though pleasant hotel, but unpleasant experience as hotel staffs just increase the room rates for my child. The instruction written clearly child under 3 stay for free, but staff refused to review the instruction and said I did not inform them before my stay. This is the only hotel which did the same during my whole trip (all other 7 hotels did not increase the rate at all for my little child!!!). Unfair for parents bringing children. Maybe better for double or twin rooms.......
Every request and query were dealt with promptly and kindly even when this involved language difficulties. Very welcoming hotel. Lack of elevator could be a problem.
Staff was very helpful. Location was superb and the included breakfast was very nice. No
Very niceely renovated old building. Excellent location in city central historic square.
Winter time but good view from the room. Quite nice location to/from city entrance (in case of coming by car) as well as to/from any other sightseeing points. Rate is a bit high compared with other hotels in the city.
room was great, location wonderful and whole ambience fantastic.
A fantastic hotel in the centre of the town. The decor throughout the hotel and in our room was excellent and reminiscent of a restored monastery. The location was ideal for sightseeing and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The parking is not on site as stated in hotel's details on the website. It is in a secure site not far away but necessitates a complicated drive through the town's streets. A bit of a surprise.
Wonderful location; nice breakfast, bar and helpful staff. The rooms are a little strange. Internet access is available (free of charge) but located (in both of the rooms we looked at) far away from any place to sit with a computer. The television is nicely hidden from view in a medieval style cabinet but so far from the bed that it could not be viewed. There was no drawer space for clothing storage or luggage racks. The bathroom was very nice.
The decor was stunning - medieval mixed with modernity. The hotel has obviously been very thoughtfully fitted out to suit its location and period. There are a huge number of tapestries and paintings - okay, so not original tapestries, but excellent nevertheless. You feel as though you are staying in an old monastery. Our room was also spacious. In a hotel of this class, one would expect a larger shower (and larger shower head), rather than a little shower over a bath. It's always good to find an iron and ironing board in a hotel room, but this hotel did not have these items. (I didn't ask at Reception - maybe there was a separate ironing room somewhere). It's also nice to have your own tea or coffee making facilities in your room - again lacking.
The view from my room I was disappointed my friend's room faced into the courtyard
We really like to room - the Castle view was a killer and my partner loved the furniture.Lady at the reception was ever so helpful and gentleman who took our luggages and parked our car was brilliant. a true benefit to the hotel! Morning staff were quite grumpy and no one has asked what we like to drink.
atmosphere, the town isnt WIFI in the room,
A charming hotel staffed by charming people. I have stayed there before, and I will stay there again.
Excellent location, very helpful staff, great little city, beautiful castle town, cobblestone streets, friendly people
We had a great time staying here. I staff was the best that we met on our trip, they even got up early to fix breakfast.
The place, kindly service
Fabulous location and it snowed Uncomfortable bed, no proper chair in the bedroom, room was too light during the night, Breakfast was missing a lot because it wasn't topped up after a big group.
Apart from the general atmosphere of the hotel it was the staff in general that really made me feel very much at home.
the location and their breakfast was the best part of this hotel room too expensive for what they offer ie, uncomfortable beds, cheap linens, too noise in the hallway. One of the reasons we chose this hotel was the swimming pool because my 4 year-old likes to swimm. However, when we ask about where the swimming pool was, their response was "can't use the swimming pool, it's "reserved" Whatever that meant, we'll never know because they did not offer any further explanation. My 4 year-old was upset and we were upsent because of it. I will not stay in this hotel again.
The location is great. No preliminary information about parking. (The hotel is in the walking district.)
charming, excellent location, helpful staff fee charged for guests to use internet, car service to train station charged taxi rate - not mentioned when it was arranged
The staff were friendly and helpful. Location stunning No
Location, location, location! The breakfast was also OK, I was expecting for worse. Friendly staff, speaks english. 2 absolutely uncomfortable single beds. The famous restorant "catacombs" was fully occupied for 3 hours in advance (booking thru hotel reception)
We loved the fact that the hotel was right in the middle of the old square. It was really easy for us to get around and see the glorious sights of Ces Krumlov.
The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The room was modern, clean and large. Location was a short walk to the central square. Breakfast was very good. I would gladly stay at Gardena again Only negative for Ceske Krumlov was that the train station was not close to the town.
I like the place where it s situated, disign. I don't like the noise of construction early in the morning and some insects in the bathroom
It wasnt really 4*. Overally good but you can get better for that money in Krumlov. Depends on deal. We paid 220 euro for 3 nights in double room but they actually ask for 130 euro for night during holiday on the desk and that would be far too much. Breakfast was only until 9.30 and wasn't anything special
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is small and charming. Everything was very clean and in good repair. The breakfast was just okay, but not very good.
The breakfast, the room and the staff. There wern't any drapery in the shower and the toilet was on the wrong side of the shower.
Good access by car. Hotel`s own parking lot. Close to city centre.
As there is no shower curtain in our bathroom, it has been wet in our bathroom even though we have been careful to do that. We have asked them to prepare the extra bed at around 8:00pm and we were out about three hours and half however there were no extra bed in our room when we have
Erica on receiption was most welcoming and helpful. The bed was comfortable and room facilities were very good. Breakfast was sufficient but would have liked boiling water to make tea.
Very nice, ideally located and well-designed hotel in addition to exceptionally fair price. Highly recommended. Probably, the breakfast could be better.
The stuff is very nice even prepare us breakfast though we leave early. The location is superb.
The hotel rooms are big and confortable.
Nice staff. Due to trip delay, the hotel kindly agree to postpone my booking one day afterwards without any additionaly charges. Flexible policies. Good service. Good breakfast. Good view, right next to the castle.
Great location, very clost to Krumlov castle. I had a room with the castle and river view which you have to request for it and pay a little bit more. It's worth it. The view of the castle at night was romantic! The room is neatly decorated to have a feeling of the old days with elegance and comfort. The bathroom is very modern and spacious! The girl at the reception has been very nice and helpful. Moring buffet was alright. In general, I love the place, the room is beautifully decorated and comfy.
We reserved a room with a view and we were charged a room with a view to the river, so when we got there they gave us a room with a view to one of the streets. We requested them to charges us for a normal price room since we didn't get the view, but they still charged us extra. There are so many pension houses in this town at such a great value, it is not worth it to stay in a expensive hotel like this one that has really bad service.
Historical building that had been restored well. Big rooms with heaps of character. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent location in a wonderful town. Just magical.
The owner was very nice and helpful. The hotel was in a great location and was an excellent place to stay.
The room, the hotel itself, the location and the staff
The hotel staff was very friendly. Room was big and clean. Location is unbeatable, just 5 minutes from bus station and 2 minutes from central square. The restaurant served good breakfast and had good options for dinner menu. We had a very pleasant stay. None.
The size of the room, its location, the friendliness of the owner. few staff spoke english, room was over the restaraunt courtyard which was quite noisy till late at night.
The restaurant was very good. Close to the city center. Parking is not easy, as the hotel doesn't have a private parking or public parking nearby. Would've been better if the hotel was airconditioned.
The room was a generous size and comfortable. Our dinners at the hotel's restaurant were very good and we loved the terrace with a beautiful view over the old town to the castle. The waiter was very friendly and obliging, carrying food through the rain to serve our table on a sheltered spot on the terrace.Parking arrangements (in public car park on edge of old town) were better than expected. Our room overlooked the street and was noisy. We had to keep the windows shut in a very hot night.
Very nice staff
The room and location are great. none
Good size rooms. We had to pay to use the sauna in the Hotel Ruze though we were told they are the same ownership.
Charming. Beautiful. Great location. Quiet. Clean. Wonderful friendly staff.
the staff are really nice! Great location! Nice design of hotel the wifi was not working in lobby area. And there is no internet access in hotel room
Kind staff, the old lady and the young lady cooperate well to manage the money issue, breakfast and cleaning. Clean good breakfast we got the terrace with stunning view of the town--- this is the reward of climbing up the hill for 10 minutes, but it worth This is actually not their fault--- ck is not a town easy to navigate, so does the apartment.
Apartment was spacious, comfortable and nicely furnished. The location was excellent, with parking available nearby.
Wonderfully huge apartment right next to the castle. Management gave a discounted rate for the apartment as the deluxe double room couldn't accommodate our family (2 adults, 1 child). A small refrigerator would have been nice.
