Pros: Dinner and breakfast were excellent with superb service. One could easily get the feeling of being royalty, with views of the majestic Rhine, with a mid-river fortress from your room window what is not to like. When exploring the castle each turn revels more attention to detail and the unending beauty of a time long past. The staff was awesome, When I reserved our room I missed the comments on stairs. The room was located on the fourth floor with a spiral staircase for access. The spiral stairs are very steep and narrow. As my wife has a balance issue, I inquired if another room was available on a lower level. We were offered a larger room on the ground floor with a beautiful view of the Rhine.
Cons: Not having enough time to truly to enjoy such a wonderful place.
Pros: The incredible detail to service blew me away! They thought of everything! I would highly recommend this place to anyone!
Cons: There was nothing I didn’t like!
Pros: It was very unique experience to stay in the castle. Staff was very friendly and we had good family time there. Highly recommend to stay here for 1 night.
Cons: Nothing it was perfect but the food was salty.
With a stay at Gasthaus Weingut Stahl in Oberwesel, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Falkenau and Pfalzgrafenstein Castle. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, laundry facilities, and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: This was the best place we stayed on our trip. The family Stahl were AMAZING. We had biked/cried/climbed the monster hill to get to their place and were exhausted. They welcomed us with open arms, carried our things in, and expedited check in so that we could shower and still order food before the kitchen closed. Throughout the stay, everything was wonderful. The breakfast was delicious, fresh, and homemade. The neighborhood was beautiful, too. Highly recommend to all drivers and bikers (but only the ones more athletic than we were).
Cons: This place is built on top of a hill. When they say Rhine Valley, well, this is not the valley. This is the nice hill overlooking the valley. So, lovely bike rides down the hill. Less fun climbing back up the hill. Still, the scenery was gorgeous and I think we'd do it again, we liked it THAT much.
Pros: Fantastic breakfast and dinner. Really enjoyed the wine tasting in the cellar. Many delicious wines
Pros: Great welcome, spacious rooms. But so much more important at this establishment was the food. Dinner was delicious and pleantyful. I defy anyone to attempt two courses. Breakfast was exceptional, several tables were laid out with a vast choice of food. I really couldn't do it justice after having dinner.
Cons: Perfect, no problems at all.
Pros: It is a beautiful quiet place, a wonderful break from the usual tourist crowding and commotion. The food was excellent. The breakfast was amazing. The wine tasting in the cellar is an experience not to miss.
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay and everything exceeded our expectations! The guest house was recommended to us, and we heard all about the wonderful breakfast. Breakfast certainly lived up to expectation. We were made to feel so welcome by all.
Pros: Great hospitality. Delicious breakfast.
Pros: Nice area, clean room, nice garden/restaurant, very service-oriented staff, superb breakfast (Danke Krista)
Cons: No airco, fortunately there was a fan in the room.
Pros: We loved absolutely everything about our stay at Gasthaus Weingut Stahl. The location is wonderful - away from all the train noises in the villages along the Rhine. Our rooms were fantastic, and were spotlessly clean. The bathrooms were modern and well equipped. Breakfast was simply amazing, and Krista, our hostess, kept forcing us to try her home-made cakes (for breakfast!!). We ate dinner out on the deck both nights and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Paul serves his brother's wines, and encouraged us to head down to the cellar for tastings. We could not fault this hotel, and would heartily recommend it. It would be best to have a car if you are staying there however.
Pros: We were given a warm welcome and shown to a lovely large room which was very clean. The hotel is a lovely mix of old and new. The Bedroom we had was fresh and modern, while the dining room was more in line with a old traditional Farm House. The evening meal was excellent but the breakfast was exceptional. Huge variety of friut cakes savories both hot and cold. We cannot fault this guest house. full marks
Pros: Comfortable rooms in a lovely family run hotel. Great dinner in the restaurant followed by wine tasting in the cellar after dinner. We have just spent a fortnight driving around Europe and our night at his hotel was one of the highlights.
Pros: Fantastic! Beautiful, clean and spacious room. Delicious food and very good wine. Warm and friendly staff. Everything you need to have a 100% satisfactory stay. This is a hotel to recommend and to go back to!
Pros: Fairly quiet room, very good breakfast and staff very friendly
Cons: A funny odour in the room. Perhaps it was an ex-smoking room
Pros: Our 2nd visit to this gasthaus. Every bit as nice as our first visit. Our dinner was exceptional at the restaurant and the owner and staff are always mindful of guests needs. Highly recommend.
Pros: people were extremely friendly
Pros: We highly recommend this hotel The surroundings were ideal, the staff was excellent as well as the food and our rooms. We loved the little bier garten outside! We were also given a personal tour of the incredible wine cellar and offered samples. I really can't say enough about this place and the people!
Pros: The breakfast and the staff
Cons: The decor is a bit outdated..... But very clean
Pros: Good food, room was clean and big, friendly staff.
Cons: Nothing notable.
Pros: The owner gave us good recommendations for trips and restaurants, very clean, good breakfast, parking in front of the house
Cons: all was fine
Pros: The room was very comfortable. The breakfast was fabulous and the hostess was so sweet.
Cons: It was a little hard to find the first time.
Pros: Just an overnight stay in this lovely region near river Rhine. Very pleasant and helpful approach from Ms. Bappert. Unfortunately not enough time to see the surroundings, just a short walk… Pleasant breakfast. I can imagine coming back for a family trip.

Featured amenities include a business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and luggage storage. Pros: The combination of modern rooms in an authentic castle the stunning views and ability of the staff to speak English and Deutsch very well.
Pros: Stunning location with beautiful views
Cons: Very noisy room - could hear returning guests and paper thin walls
Pros: Stunning location at the old castle.
Cons: Charging guests additional €6 to visit the castle seems excessive. The little town close by has very little to see or do. Noise from trains and road traffic is quite distracting and disturbs your sleep. Using the supplied ear plugs is not something I look forward to when staying at a hotel.
Pros: Very good food and wine. Very quiet and relaxing. Very clean.
Pros: Rooms nicely decorated. high-end, castle style, yet modern. From my room i had beautiful view on Rhine river. Please take the free castle tour.
Cons: No desk/table in room; (it was single room). On the other hand there was very nice balcony
Pros: Food Excellent and location superb especially as part of the facility was a very interesting museum.
Cons: No complaints everything was to our satisfaction.
Pros: Location was awesome including great views of the rhein river and castle Reichenstein. Castle was well maintained and for just a few euros you can go on self guided tour that was well worth it. The restaurant was fantastic with affordable delicious german cuisine.
Cons: Needed an elevator access to room on top floor.
Pros: Very nice meal and quiet ambiance at the hotel. And fun to explore the castle/museum grounds adjacent to the hospital.
Pros: Everything was absolutely wonderful. We were greeted by a very friendly lady at the front desk and then an absolute angel was going to take us to our room. We were talking about our trip to Europe winding down and how we were celebrating our 30th Anniversary about 6 months late due to some circumstances beyond our control. She excused herself for a moment and said she would be right back. When she came back she had upgraded us to an amazing room and truly blessed us more than she knows. Our upgraded room had wonerful amenities and an amazing view of the castle and river. The facilities were fantastic and we really enjoyed the breakfast as it had plenty to choose from. The castle was great to tour and we couldn't be happier.
Cons: Everything was wonderful. The parking is probably the only thing they might look into.

Pros: Interestingly the school was transformed into a hotel. Tasteful and comfortable. Overall hotel fresh.
Pros: Lovely hotel. Clean. Friendly staff.
Pros: Spacy room, nice view on garden.
Cons: Noisy ventilator of bathroom. Airco could be more silent too.
Pros: Excellent all around. Great breakfast and spacious modern rooms. Loved the ease of bike rentals with locks, helmets and small backpacks included!
Cons: Location is a 20minute walk to train and they didn’t pick us up as requested when we booked.
Pros: The breakfast was very good. We liked the availability of beverages (i.e. bottles of wine) on the honor system since the hotel was a little ways from restaurants and bars. The onsite parking was great!

The cleanliness is also superb. Would love to stay again on our next trip to Bacharach.
Pros: I love this special feeling of what is called "Rhine Romantic " and this place appears to be the essence of it. The place, architecture, the age, the informality but excellence of service, the great food in the restaurant with traditional touch, wonderful experience.
Cons: no dislikes, nothing worth to mention, from the moment we opened the door we could feel that it's a good place

Pros: The host Klaus is a very nice helpful person The breakfest was one of the best I have ever had in B&Bs Located in a lovely little town, nice to walk around Easy parking to find nearby the house
Cons: Well, in our room (right next to the entrance door) we heard everything (people entering/exiting/walking by in a corridor) There was a dog in the house and wen it made noise we clearly heard it all the time, Right in from of the house the railroad, which makes a lot of noise, a good news: no trains after 22:00
Pros: Room was comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. Our small dog was welcomed.
Cons: The "small bedroom" was not small but tiny...suitable for a one person only not a couple. Cramped.
Pros: Very large room and good breakfast
Cons: The hosts, Klaus, was fantastic. Very attentive.
Pros: Large bedrooms and nice bathroom
Cons: Train noise.
Pros: The owner was fantastic and friendly with an excellent breakfast. It is an exceptionally old building but they have renovated the rooms beautifully!
Cons: It is next to a train line which is exceptionally noisy!! Could not sleep even though there were complimentary ear plugs! When the windows were shut the noise was more bearable but it was extremely hot and with no air conditioning so had to open windows!! I think the heat experienced was greater than normal!
Pros: This is such a lovely, friendly, family run hotel. Our room was at the back, overlooking the vineyards so we didn't hear the trains. Lorch was a lovely town with a lot of restaurants to pick from. We ended up having our best meal on our trip so far at Lorch. The breakfast at the hotel was also lovely.
Cons: All good
Located in Bacharach (Mainz-Bingen), Hotel Blüchertal is within a 5-minute drive of Pfalzgrafenstein Castle and Falkenau. Featured amenities include luggage storage and a vending machine. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: Very accommodating hosts, comfortable room, air conditioning. Honor bar where we could grab drinks and snacks and charge them to our room. Good late meal in on-site restaurant. Convenient base for touring the middle Rhine Valley. A short drive or longer walk into town.
Cons: I didn’t pay close enough attention to the location when I booked and thought we were staying in the main part of town. Instead, it was maybe a mile or so away, which made it a little less convenient to go to restaurants, shopping, etc.
Pros: Super friendly staff! Rooms very quiet and private. Breakfast great with many choices. Location is as advertised, very pretty facing the forest and tons of birds chirping!
Cons: Nothing, very happy
Pros: Had a nice tiny garden we could reach from our terrace. Everything in the room was newly renovated. Vending machines with all you need. Parking lot just outside the hotel
Cons: The door and walls are absolutely not soundproof, you can hear everything little thing guests are saying in the hall way, I could even here the hydraulic system as in one room they were taking a shower. Also the beds were extremely squeaky. With every little movement you would hear a noise. So during the night I couldn’t sleep and in the morning I heard all the guests around. Needless to say I was not well rested
Pros: Host was most accommodating. Breakfast was not a only feast, but work of art.
Pros: Cleanliness was very good. Front desk fellow went above and beyond service for us Great breakfast for the price! Again, great service!
Cons: Signage to find the place was a problem. We took a couple of wrong turns the first time. Uphill...ugh!
With a stay at Romantik Hotel Schloss Rheinfels in Sankt Goar, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Loreley and Rheinfels Castle. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and a 24-hour front desk. This hotel has 4 meeting rooms available for events. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: Super location! Very nice view all around, beautiful flowers, also you can enjoy Rhein view from panorama restaurant having dinner and breakfast. Especially good breakfast, lovely atmosphere and tasty food on dinner, really recommend to try it. Beautiful spa, sauna and swimming pool, but there is a big minus - very cold water in it. Warm rooms, comfortable beds. In the rooms there are all things you need- slippers, towels, bathrobes, free water. In all, very recommended.
Cons: A little bit small outdated rooms on the third floor; Msin minus- very cold swimming pool, but very nice, so really need to be more heated that it could be properly used. “Mistake” of receptionist counting money on checkout in reception , so we need to wait snd ask for change ourselves.
Pros: fantastic views from breakfast/dining room. very pleasant garden. reasonable sized room, clean and comfortable beds. fair breakfast choice although coffee wasn't very nice. good to have a pool. bit cold shock going in, but ok when in there and swimming. changing facilities are small, about the size of a shop fitting room. novel experience of staying almost in a castle
Cons: the tavern attached to the hotel was shut all the while we we there. i was looking forward to kicking back with a relaxing local beer, but it was not to be. Also all of sankt goar eateries closed by 9pm - which of course is not a reflection on the hotel - but plan your dining arrangement, folks. we didn't and only just managed to secure a chinese take-away on a dark bench by the rhine little things detracted from staying at this hotel: give us a welcome on check in. it was a transactional rather than friendly experience. you couldn't swing a cat in the bathroom. to give an idea of how small, the toilet roll was on the opposite wall to the john yet still reachable without the need to unseat yourself. no shelf for toothbrush and toiletries. heated towel rail was in locked off mode so it didn't dry the swimming gear, or towel. hot room, and no temperature control, so the choice is windows open with an open invitation for insects, or windows closed and a stuffy night. anti-steal coat hangers. i don;t want to steal them, i just want to hang my jacket without it being a faff!
Pros: The reply of the letter is fast. The restaurant has a good view, and a variety of tea leaves. The waiter is very kind. The castle has a different style.
Cons: I hope the chef’s of the breakfast can have more smiles.
Pros: The view was amazing. I could walk out onto the balcony and hear the church bells ringing across the Rhein River. This is right next to the castle, so the next morning went for a tour. The tour was amazing..Be sure to take the guided tour to see all the extra hidden places. Front desk was very nice as well. We loved the pup behind the desk.
Cons: The restaurant staff was a little stiff. Felt a little uncomfortable. The morning breakfast, we came in and they were upset that we were there close to the end of the buffet time. They actually were talking to each other in German and it was REALLY uncomfortable.
Pros: Excellent Location. Clean comfortable rooms. Friendly staff
Pros: Very good location and very nice view.
Pros: Pefrect location. Amazing landscape views. Free parking. Clean rooms with oldstyle design, good wifi connection. Well served breakfast and good restaurant for dinner with your beloved. Free spa available. Will come back again!
Cons: The mattress in my room was not flat. The disapointing was that cleaning staff in the restaurant turned on the vacuum cleaner right after breakfast time was finished (at 10 am), even though there were some people still having breakfast, showing his disrespect.
Pros: Large room and nice view from the room
Cons: Staff education is minimum. They could not explain about what they sell in the hotel. No greetings when we arrive the hotel. No attention when we entered to the restaurant. We were not treated as guests.
Pros: The food was great. Dinner and the breakfast was in great quality.
Cons: The quality of the restaurant is very good. However I would not suggest visiting here in the high season. The kitchen was extremely busy and could get plates in reasonable time. We needed to wait an hour to get our desert after the main dishes.

Pros: Close to all tourist spots but in a nice, quiet neighborhood. Delicious meals and excellent service,
Pros: Great hotel, staff very friendly and polite, the bed was super comfortable, the room in general was fantastic, position at a few minutes by car to Oberwesel, a great town in the shore of the Rhein river, dinner was good but a bit expensive, nice breakfast
Pros: Large family room. Fine breakfast buffet
Pros: Typical German breakfast. Good location for exploring the Rhine. Staff helped with luggage.
Pros: The hotel is in a peaceful area. We had a large comfortable bed and a good shower. There was a large garden equipped with sun loungers and outdoor furniture where you could relax and read after a hard day's sightseeing and enjoy the lovely view. Our hosts were very friendly and did their utmost to make us comfortable and welcome. Our host was also the chef in the restaurant, which was especially good, and we enjoyed exceptional meals here. He also spoke fluent English.
Cons: The hotel is a little way outside of Oberwesel and uphill and although you could walk down to the town you really need a car to get you back up to the hotel unless you are very fit! We did not find this a problem as we were using our car anyway to visitl the other villages on the Rhine.
Pros: Super friendly staff, excellent food! Faultless
Pros: Its nice and beautiful location
Cons: We’ve got such a rude email from them. Complain about things and very rude email. If you give service stop behave like this . Its very bad behavior. !
Pros: 1 lady of the staff is very friendly and tried to look after everyone. They food is nice. The backyard-area is quiet big.
Cons: Service is a disaster. Totally understaffed and therefore: Waiting as a standard. Unfriendly and not at all obliging. Booked room with balcony - but the answer when I checked in: "this room does not exist!". Sure to had breakfast included - but somehow, it was gone when checked at the hotel. Maybe my fault. BUT: We went to the breakfast (with still 1 hour to go) - yet, everything was gone. No eggs, only 3 slices of cheese, only 1 sort of bread, coffee sitting on the stove for 3 hours ... an absolute no go for this price.

Pros: Close to Bacharach, 5 min walk to center and restaurants.
Pros: Lovely place to stay in the Bacharach area. Friendly and helpful owner and her family were very welcoming and easygoing; plus their own Riesling wine was delicious. I wish we could have stayed longer & would definitely stay there again.
Pros: Friendly host Sonja who was kind to give me lifts to station.Light breakfast perfect.Breakfast room bright and airy.wifi fine.
Cons: Had the smallest room in property with external bathroom.Other rooms much bigger with ensuite bathroom.Might have been nice to have bigger room but I was on my own. Quite far from town centre.30 min walk uphill from station.
Pros: Excellent location some 30 minutes walk from the centre of Bacharach, surrounded by vineyards and forest. It feels a million miles from big cities!
Pros: nice owners and a nice stay
Pros: The hosts are kind and welcoming and they make great wine!
Pros: The room was spotlessly clean and the beds extremely comfortable. A great selection was provided for breakfast. You can easily walk down into the main town and there are plenty of places to eat. Previous reviews have said they were troubled by the bells but they only rang at 18.00hrs and again at 07.00hrs!!
Best rooms in Kaub
With a stay at Hotel Deutsches Haus in Kaub (Mainz-Bingen), you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Loreley and Falkenau. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Breakfast was great and owner even offered free made-up rolls to take with us for lunch.
Pros: The hotel had a nice restaurant and included breakfast.
Cons: Kaub didn't have much to offer in the evening...across the river from cuter towns along the Rhine, and one must take a ferry to get across. Room had sloped floor and very narrow winding stairs to upper floors.
Pros: This was our first time visiting Kaub, our hotel was in the centre, very clean and great value for its money, the breakfast was delicious also. We will stay here again next time we visit.
Pros: Very basic rooms, but friendly service. They served a nice breakfast and provided us with a bag to pack a lunch.
Cons: Kaub is a sleepy town with very few options for restaurants.
Pros: This is a nice place that understands walkers. Rooms are spacious, dryers for wet boots, a shower big enough to bend over to retrieve dropped soap and balsam creme for sore feet! The owner has a great sense of humor and a good knowledge of the Rheinsteig!
Pros: Staff was nice. Breakfast was tasty. A quiet town with not a lot of tourists. Most of the visitors here are hikers. The hotel is kind enough to provide relief cream for people who hiked all day.
Cons: There's no lift, so be careful if you have big luggage. The room is next to the railway, so we can hear the trains even at night. It's impossible, however, to close the window as it's too hot to sleep with the window closed in summer.
