Good location to bus station.
Since 12-13 August (the first time when I was in the hostel) some people are long living there. OK, it's not a problem. But those people who are long living there lost understanding that it's a common place, and in this hostel can be also another people except them. It was so noisy there that it made a lot of stress for me. One person had a birthday - OK, you can celebrate it, but remember about another people in this place, who want to sleep and relax after a long trip. Birthday party was till 23 o'clock. Then at 2 o'clock friend called to woman who had birthday, and woman was talking so loud like she is alone living in the room. At 3 o'clock came 2 man at living room and was maybe drinking alcohol and definitely talking very loud - I was scared for my security. As people are long living there it's a chaos - all personal clothes and things are everywhere - room, bathroom. It seems to me that it's on duty of hostel write strick rules, visitors have to sign agreements with rules and hostel make that people are following it. This was the worst experience I've ever had. I'm not coming back to this hostel anymore.
Superb location across from the bus station. At time of my stay the trains were not running between Kaunas and Vilnius so buses were leaving every 15 minutes. Turns out that my most memorable and best asset of Kaunas is the train station waiting room-- sit quietly and listen to the sounds of time and mystery IN SILENCE. It may be only temporary but I think they should keep it forever. I went there often for the "experience".
A pretty much non-common space area... only a tad bit in small kitchen area.
I think it could have been just fine for the price, if the other guests would happen to be a little more well-behaving, (and minus the breakfast thing, it could be ok.)
The first 2 nights were still somehow in the limits of allright, though there was music playing and loud talking until about 02am on the other side of the glass door. The remaining nights 3&4 i got maybe about 3h of sleep a night, and also one could not really sleep there any other time of day either because of all the noise. I guess i met these same characters already mentioned in several revues, the 2 old ladies and a group of drinking fighting men. There was blood drops on the floor after one night. There was yelling and banging the walls. I felt very unsafe. There were men coming in and out in the women's bedroom some time in the morning when i tried to sleep, fighting with the women who stayed in the room too. The old ladies in the room could talk super loudly until 2-3am coming in and out the room, sleep a few hours and start the insane noise again at 6-7 am. Absolute ignorance towards others. They seemed to actually live there. The highlight of the experience was when the other babushka locked me out of the room for 2 nights, i never got any key but i guess there were some given to these lovely people. What a feeling to have to bang the door to my own room for minutes and finally been given the mercy to get in by and angry, naked,alcohol-smelling granny. What i learned is that next travelling somewhere i won't stay at 1 place for 4 nights, 2 i could have coped with in here. The breakfast felt like a scam. On the photo near reception there were eggs, beans, sausage etc, but actually there was only a discount of 2-3€ from coffee/juice/lemonade and sandwich/cake at the café across the street, not really worth walking that far for something you can buy any time of the day and anyway you are hungry 2h from that. Especially with not getting hardly any sleep.
Good location, right across the bus station and very close to the railway one,. The room was cozy and seemed well-maintained/cleaned.
The common areas were quite small; overall no other complaint in particular, it is an ok hostel.
