Helpful owners directed us to excellent restaurant. Relaxed homely atmosphere. Great shower and bathroom with good accessories. A bit too much sound transmission from the hall way into the room.
The very warm welcome and the help we have been provided with. The breakfast was super. The room was very clean and very nice arranged, to feel directly at home. They even had put into the baby bed some nice booklets and a music toy . There is nothing what I can put in.
The personal service, the utilities and the quality of internet conection May be a wireless conection instead of cable internet conection
Personal service and nice rooms
Hotel staff (owners) made us feel as if we are visiting a relative. They are so kind and make as much as they can to make you feel more comfortable. The rooms are clean and cozy. Breakfast was the best I have ever had in Europe.
fresh & new hotel
Nice hotel, staff was very fiendly. Good location for exploring the area.
The food in the restaurant was surprisingly good. Real gourmet based on local ingredients. It's in the middle of knowhere.
very pleasant could do with tea making equipment in rooms
great breakfast further from NRN (Weeze airport) than expected -- 30 minute drive
Great place to stay. Quiet and peacful. recommended
Good hotel, clean rooms, no city noise.
Quiet rooms and comfortable beds No coffee/tea making facilities in the rooms
Nice staff, nice restaurant, nice place to be, very good value...

Value for money = ****** Eu smokingpolicy not implementet
Location was ok Car Parking.
quiet, nice village, location 30 minutes from dusseldorf . exallent brakfast!! loved the classic german brakfast. poor internet reception. could get it only at the reception floor. very good hotel resturant- full with locals all the time. internet reception. no dry cleaning/laundery service.
Modern, clean, hotel in a superb riverside location. Small, old, walled town close by.
Sat on the sunny verandah and watched the boats on the Rhine No
Nice Rhein river views. Smart rooms and friendly staff. Very nice town (Rees), where you can find many sport and relax activities (hiking, bycicle paths and routes, some amusement park in the sourroundings for kids). Very clean and nice hotel. Being an international hotel, courtains or shuts to close the light in the windows would be nice. The sun rises at 05:15 am, so you can´t go on sleeping from that on. For breakfast, much more fruit would be needed. No international tv channels available.
The rate Internet rate
Nice, clean and comfortable hotel. Good breakfast in the restaurant looking out over the river Rhine. Helpfull staff.
The setting the soft,unsupporting beds
Amazing restaurant food and great customer service
Great location, nice staff, good food. internet was working poorly, but the staff was very helpful and promised they would take care of it.
very special, very kind staff
Excellent service, lovely atmosphere of old castle, actually the atmosphere during breakfast was the best I have ever experienced in the hotel, and I travel on weekly basis. Big room in old style, nice bathroom, big comfortable bed. Being there was like an adventure, very positive!!! Small TV set
sleeping in a castle is a pretty nice idea. the hotel is very clean, staff friendly and in the morning you have your table reservation for breakfast, which offers a wide range, next to a knight. wonderful experience. Nearby are some beautifully cute old towns that are worth seeing wifi in the rooms had to be paid, but you could get it in the main hall for free
A very welcoming and unassuming ambience that was both comfortable and relaxed. A mix of vert traditional with contemporary - a clever conversion of a chateau dating back to 1256. The surrounding lake was a bit too still with a stagnant pungency at shore line - it needs to have water movement to clear this. The lake also backed onto a main road which did spoil the "fairy tale" aspect a bit.
Wonderful breakfast in historical cellar of the main building (castle). I stayed in separate building; the room was spacious but not necessarily well-furnished. Bathroom had been renovated and it was beautiful, very spacious to include walk-in shower! Room was tidy but not clean; there were food crumps on carpet and debris on floor, and dusty. Bring your own pillow; the pillows are the large, oversized square pillows that are so big they are under your shoulders; they are horrible down feathers and I asked for another pillow my second night--and it was much worse, it was also huge oversized square that was so hard you could not sleep. Location is not great if you're touring; unless you're staying at the castle for an event, stay in Kalkar or Xanten.
Living in a casle - that was an excelent experience. It was out of season so pretty quiet - but in my opinion made it even more enjoyable.
Well designed rooms with a homy touch, nice architecture, great breakfast, and above all a very friendly staff. It's a great place to relax and the rooms are designed to spend some time in them.
The staff is very friendly. The hotel looks very stylish and is very clean. You can walk / bike for hours and hours in the neighbourhood, because there is a lovely forrest. There are no directions from the city centre to the hotel. The bed is not made for large people (only 1.90) so that's not confortable when you are 1.91.
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The owners were in attendance evey day and were enthiusiastic and warmly welcoming. They were obviously, justifiably proud of their very new hotel and I felt I had made new friends. Not a thing. I would stay at this hotel again any time.
Very worthwhile for anyone who wishes to stay in this area.
With my friend we like it very much. Someday I wish to come maybe with boyfriend, hehe if I'll have it;) 'cos is very nice place soarouned with beautiful nature and also Nijmegen is near, Netherlands;). Veronika Tomažič -
Very kind and warm owners indeed. Special atmosphere and all above expectations before the flight from Weeze, which is just 25 min drive away.Perfect for a short stay and a good load of possitive emotions! I quess location is good for Weeze airport only, otherwice difficult to define other advantages.
The staff were very helpful and the hotel even loaned us bicycle for the day free of charge The Church is very close by, and the bell ring every half hour which disturbed our sleep. No chance to sleep pass 07:00 either as at this time they ring out for 2 minutes...
Friendly staff, clean nice hotel
When leaving the hotel, we stood at reception for 20 mins while the owner continued to make and receive phone calls, which we were told meant they could not proceed and take payment from us for the room. The owner never once apologised for keeping his guests waiting. he had no manners at all! Plus we were woken at 7am with the local church bell being rang over 186 times, so if an early start is what you are after and you like to be treated rudely, then this is your hotel.
Nice quiet setting with friendly and attentive staff. The restaurant has a varied menu and the food was excellent and plentiful.
Hotel a little off the beaten path, but a real discovery. Very friendly, attentive service. Outstanding breakfast and restaurant for evening meals. Very nice terrace for summer outdoor drinks and dining, cozy inside fire place in bar. Wi-Fi is slow, but then again it's complimentary.
Everything was first rate. From the moment of arrival until we left, (unfortunately only a one-night stay), we felt welcome and comfortable in the admirable ambience of pleasure and satisfaction prevalent in the hotel. We will definitely go there again, this time for longer, and shall ask for Room 11. There was no lift, but our bag was carried up for us.
the price and the friendlyness of the staff. There are several rooms with bath/toilet separate from the room.I booked one of those without reaizing(probably my own fault) but this got solved in no time there was wifi but not in my room. It's very noisy(ofcours depending on how laut other geusts are but the walls won't help)
The position and food no
The facilities are incredible, the food delicious and plentiful, and the staff was even more helpful than I could have ever hoped for. If I am ever in that part of Germany again, I will, without a doubt, stay at the Landhaus! It is located in a village with no other restaurants or stores, and it is not the easiest to get to. There are travel options, however, and the staff is helpful in finding them.
Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The food and bar were excellent and staff very helpful. No English translations on documents or website.
very nice that booking over internet was waiting for me at the reception! I slept in two hotels in Germany. All beds are too soft and some are noisy. In Emmerich room temperature should be slightly higer (about 1-2C).
location no english spoken,my belongings were removed from my room and only one item returned,no compensation and i was overcharged for my stay
The hotel staff was very nice. There were spiderweb on the ceiling lights and the shower head attachment was broke.
Friendly staff. Good breakfast Room was freezing cold, I came at 23:30 and heating was off and window open. Impossible to take a shower at that temperature when I arrived. I had to turn the heating on myself, which was hardly working in the morning. Very very uncomfortable. All else was OK
Service was good, breakfast too, friendly personnel
Access to room was a little diffoicult, being via winding stairs and narrow corridors
Well placed on the main road in and out of town. Good parking in rear with beer garden for summer nights. Excellent food and good value with plenty to eat, sometimes too much. The house wine was very good and the service was friendly and most helpful. The room was quite large and airy and the beds comfortable. The only dissapointments were, no Lift/Elevator and the narrow winding staircase up 2 floors was a bit of a drag for us of a mature age. Also no tea/coffee making equipment in the room.
hospitable, pleasant restaurant, favourable location (close to railway station, easy to reach from motorway, easy car parking).
Excelent food, staff very kind , the location wich is just 4 min walk to the station....you can reach Kleve in 10 min. The rooms are clean and nice...there's a sort of pub near the reception open till late...and all around the the hotel there are a lot of markets, shopping and fast food ...everything very confortable and near. You have to lock the rooms by your self with the key because the door doesn't close automatically. They don't have free wifi in the structure...also If you have a plug that is different from the German, make sure you bring an adapter.. or you can buy it at one of the market in front of the hotel.
Close to Bus route and Airport Ciampina Poor condition, Rotten curtains, Wardrope falling apart. Lights over sink not working.
Friendly staff, conveniently located Loud music
The hotel was situated near the railway station and within easy walking distatnce of the town centre.
Excellent leisure facilities
The room was very clean and of a good size. Staff were helpful and breakfast plentiful. Not very easy to find.
Great facilities if you want to be active. We had a massage and facial and they were great so good for relaxing too. Very good value formoney - especially if you use the facilities. Very close to Weeze airport (Ryanair's idea of Dusseldorf!) When we were there, it was quite empty which, given it was a large hotel, meant we spent a lot of time alone in big, empty spaces! Not much to do in Goch.
Close to Bleijenbeek golf course (NL) coolness of the staff
There were no lifts to our section of the hotel, which made it difficult with heavy luggage.
Not great if you monly speak english
modern, clean, comfortable, ample parking not too easy to locate, noisy
explore local area no
Very peaceful. It was a sunday overnight stay and the hotel was virtually empty. Very convenient for Neiderrhein Airport for an early flight Not the easiest place to find - location is in residential area and could be better signposted, but this is only a minor issue.
