Cons: Modern and clean
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great rooms, comfortable and very welcoming.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, rooms recently refurbished it seems and excellent food.
Cons: Not a lot
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The Royal Oak was a lovely place to stay for a night. The room was a good size and incredibly clean, with everything you need for a short stay (kettle, cups and glasses, ironing board, tv). A bonus was the parking space right outside the room. The location was calm and quiet, in the centre of a village but with fields and trees all around. The pub is small but well laid out, with good food and an amazing selection of gins! The breakfast was delicious with a great choice of sweet and savoury options.
Cons: The room was really hot and the bed was very soft. There is no fridge in the room, which would be a good addition for chilling water, milk etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great food and very friendly staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ease of parking, nice room and pleasant staff
Cons: All fine
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely facilities and staff when we checked in - really friendly and lovely meal in the evening
Cons: The breakfast was nice but staff were a hit quiet and did not explain anything about ordering hot food etc. We were left a bit confused and they were not very helpful when we asked. Lots of staff sitting by bar having coffee - waiting for rooms to be empty I presume - but felt we had an audience!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A little gem with a cosy friendly pub area and very nice separate dining room. Food was excellent.
Cons: Nothing. Comment that the photos of the property don’t do it justice.
7.5 Good
Pros: evening meals are great, especially the saver menu, the room was generally comfortable with good wifi Breakfast choice on the second day was inexplicably better as we had menu options and they were very nice.
Cons: On day one it was poor as the choice was limited to a buffet selection, the pastries were overcooked and it wasn't what I had been used to previously. sound proofing between rooms was poor, I could clearly hear the TV in the next room until 2am when it was turned off. The bathroom was small and ventilation poor as there wasnt any window and there was a musty smell.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The layout of rooms and ambience in bar/restaurant. Lady doing breakfasts was a total star.
Cons: King size bed wasn’t. More like a Queen - plus we had a mix up about double occupancy and single. Usually we just pay for room. Partly our fault, but info was misleading and I felt it to be a bit demeaning . Not come across this before.

4
9.7 Excellent (91 reviews)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent, as was the breakfast. Hilary made me feel right at home and the room was immaculate. I would certainly recommend this B&B.
Cons: A very minor point, the TV is hidden by the bedstead if you want to watch it whilst in bed. I would suggest wall-mounting it, so that the bed frame does not get in the way.

Pros: The breakfast's were amazing. Lots to choose from; fresh, produce sourced locally. The cooked breakfast was served piping hot and the plates were plate. It was delicious and my friend gave 10 out of 10 for their ground coffee ( I drink tea). Staff are dressed smart, clean and tidy. The mattresses on the beds in the twin room at the front are very comfortable; we slept well.

Cons: N/A
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Restaurant food was amazing
Cons: Local church bells ringing ever hour
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent food and very comfortable bed
Cons: Nothing to dislike
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great pub offering very interestingly furnished, themed rooms. The food served in the restaurant area was very nice both in the evening and for the inclusive breakfast - especially the home-made black pudding. Staff were all very friendly and eager to help.
Cons: It is worth getting a room that doesn't face the village church. The church has a bell which chimes each hour, not something we're used to, so we found the ear-plugs, which the pub provided, very useful.

The Falcon Inn - Loughborough

Overview Reviews
With a stay at The Falcon Inn in Loughborough, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Loughborough University and Donington Park Racing Circuit. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The inn is a fine example of a good old country inn, with bedrooms provided in separate accommodation to the rear of the property, near enough, but far enough away to be quite and not disturbed by the coming and going’s of the inn visitors. The staff were very pleasant , helpful and welcoming. Both the bedroom and bathroom are a good size , clean and tidy, well equipped with coffee and biscuits provided. The restaurant provided a excellent evening meal and breakfast.
Cons: Only one small issue, the pillows were a little firm for me.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room with plenty of light. Very good beers and wine available
Cons: Perhaps breakfast could have been better. We ordered vegetarian breakfasts but the meal did not match the menu.....items were different
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Peaceful location, but still quick to access from the motorway. Breakfast excellent quality and plenty of choice. Room and bathroom very good size and bed extremely comfortable. Staff were without exception friendly and helpful. We also had two evening meals here which again were excellent quality. Pub, garden and accommodation are all very beautiful and well maintained.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and friendly good atmosphere
Cons: All good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and lovely comfortable large bed. The pub served us great food but the main advantage was the team of superb staff, efficient and friendly, they went out of their way to look after us. Our group has an Anaphylactic food allergy which they took seriously and provided for us with no fuss.
Cons: Nothing!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a fabulous location that was only 15 minutes from where I needed to be the next day for a client. The staff were friendly and made you feel very welcome. The breakfast was lovely and it was great to see a place that has dairy-free milk options!
Cons: Perhaps look into gluten-free options (sausages or bread) as I struggled with what I could eat. The windows were left open during the day before we arrived which meant a lot of insects were in the room. I will appreciate that it was a very hot day though.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Booked last minute after a flight cancellation. All staff were so lovely and accommodating - I was travelling with a 5 week old baby and toddler and was helped to my room and had my bags carried. A request to change a second room to the ground floor was swiftly accommodated and at dinner the staff went the extra mile and brought our food out to us (outside the normal dining area) to make sure we could easily manage. Excellent customer service
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely staff, nice atmosphere and good food
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were friendly and welcoming. Our breakfast was great with a very good selection of cooked options. Very comfortable bed, nice bedding, large fluffy towels.
Cons: Bathroom is a little tired. The room is large with twin basins, a corner bath with shower and shower curtain over it. A full sized bath would be better for those who like to stretch out in a bath. A separate shower would be great for those who prefer a shower.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were lovely and very clean.
Cons: I ordered my food, but they forgot to send the order through to the kitchen. I noticed the chef going home and went to speak to the staff on the bar. She apologised then the manager came over and apologised and offered to make it for me. I said I would order a takeaway. She said she would make the steak, then came back and said the grill was off so it would be best to order a takeaway and offered to pay for it. I said its not necessary. I ate it in my room I went down for breakfast and it starts at 7.00am Breakfast wasnt set up. I was acknowledged by the same bar staff from the night before and told to take a seat. Waited 6 or 7 mins but nothing. The owner was in the kitchen and asked if I'd oreded, I said no and she took my order. It was only beans on toast. The owner asked the bar person to put the toast in the toaster outside as they didnt have one in the kitchen, in which she did.She disappeared again. My toast popped up and was left there. I retoasted it and took it to the kitchen and the owner said thanks.Ate it and left asap.

Pros: Facilities were good.
Cons: Far too hot in the rooms.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Staff was helpful and friendly.
Cons: Price is a bit too high. You can find cheaper hotels with pool/sauna etc.. in this standard. Also I had to ask for bathroom to be cleaned as toilet was all dirty.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Rooms excellent- clean, comfortable beds, variety of drinks Desk staff helpful and welcoming
Cons: Breakfasts too expensive. Would have been good to have continental style at lower cost of cooked breakfasts
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent, facilities, and location
Cons: Nothing
5.0 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was good and the gym was nice, stuff was friendly.
Cons: The curtains of the room didn't cover the window completely and you can't get darkness. The flush botton of the toilet is very hard, you need to use strength. The restroom is very simple. Hotel is in the middle of nowhere. A bit disappointing for a 4 stars but English standards are lower than general European.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were really lovely - very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble.
Cons: Room was pretty warm (no air con) & mattress not the most comfortable but ok.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very kind people and relaxing environment
Cons: Didnt like the spa and related activities was booked and we as a guest's could not enjoy them too.would be kind of expecting they will have some spa treatment always open for the guests.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: It was clean staff very friendly good leisure facilities not too far walking to town centre everything on hand for great weekend break
Cons: There were conferences and since weather was good, teams sat in the courtyard in evening laughing and talking whilst drinking and it was noisy in room.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness of the hotel and friendly staff.
Cons: No air conditioning in bedroom. Prices of food and drink very expensive
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Free coffee at reception and bar greatly appreciated.
Cons: Bar supper menu needs expanding significantly. It is a lovely informal place to sit and it’s nice to have a choice of a more casual supper now and again rather than a full dinner. More choice required and maybe a little less ‘fancy’ just good quality bar suppers. The lack of choice resulted in us looking elsewhere to eat on some nights where we would have been happy to eat at the hotel if better bar menu available.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: WE TURNED UP EARLY BECAUSE WE WERE GOING TO A WEDDING AND THEY MANAGED TO GET US CHECKED INTO OUR ROOM EARLY WHICH WAS FANTASTIC. THEY ALSO OFFERED US DRINKS BECAUSE OF A 20 MINUTE WAIT FOR THE ROOM TO BE CLEANED
Cons: WAITING FOR BREAKFAST ITEMS TO COME OUT. AND HAD TO ASK FOR MORE ITEMS TO BE REFRESHED - TEA, TOMATO SAUCE ETC
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, decor, restaurant and outdoor garden area very, very nice. Food in the restaurant was excellent as was the breakfast.
Cons: We were in the new wing of the hotel and have to say not happy with the goldfish bowl semi-smoked glass for the toilet/shower area... Also happened to be the really hot and humid day. On the ground floor and didn't feel we could leave the windows open over night to be more comfortable. Might be worth fitting a secure limited opening?
7.5 Good
Pros: Bed was very comfortable. The housekeeper didn't make the bed properly as the bottom sheet wasn't tucked in.
Cons: If the bedroom doors didn't bang so loudly would have been much more comfortable.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: breakfast very good
Cons: bar prices
7.5 Good
Pros: We liked the setting and location to the village centre. Our room was of a decent standard and wad in a quiet location. Easy walking distance of excellent pubs and restaurants.
Cons: Due to a wedding we felt uncomfortable going to the bar or lounge area as there was only one bar and two areas both being used by the wedding guests.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful period room with tasteful decor and fittings. Very spacious with a really comfortable four poster bed. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was very tasty with a full array of cereals, toast, tea/coffee, juice and a full English served with choice of eggs. The price charged for the luxury you experience is well worth it in my view. We will definitely return and would love to give the restaurant a try next time!
Cons: Bedroom walls appear to be very thin and noise carries from adjacent bedroom-not enough to be a major problem though.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I cannot stress enough how friendly the staff are, myself and my fiance were getting married over the weekend and they were so so so lovely to us! Breakfast was so yummy, bonus points for having Heinz beans - I notice these things :). mushrooms are to die for! The bed was really comfortable, there were lots of hangers in the wardrobe, plenty of pillows and the remote-controlled fan was so very welcome on a stuffy day like we had! the quality of the toilet paper was very good and there were good access points in terms of outlets. Also, THEY HAD DECAF COFFEE!
Cons: I wish the sausages on the breakfast were the posher kind with the sort of crunchy outer skin but no biggie because it was still so so delicious and I'm a picky person when it comes to sausages :P I really struggled with the shower, the pressure wasn't brilliant and it never really got past tepid

Cons: Air conditioning was a bit noisy
7.5 Good
Pros: Was nice, comfortable bed. Nice and dark therefore achieved a great night sleep. Was a short stay, didn't get experience whole, but would definitely go back there again
9.3 Excellent

Cons: Just 1 shower gel in the room.
10.0 Excellent

6.8 Good
Pros: Bed was comfortable. Staff were friendly.
Cons: Shower was awful - cold then boiling hot! Could’ve done with spare pillows in room
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great, host very friendly, location was excellent.
Cons: The bathroom was a little dated and smelt of mould.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly. Based on a typical Thai guest house. Take dinner here - tasty and good value. Think of this as a large bed and breakfast with extra facilities - the spa and restaurant - rather than a small hotel and you will have a good picture of what HN Thai Derm offers. 15 mins walk from centre and also handy for University.
Cons: Smallish room - queen size bed and unfortunately for us we stayed during a heatwave. Street noise ok with windows open. Excellent 'full english' breakfast but ' continental' more limited.
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff were very helpful. The dinner was great.
Cons: The room was a bit cramped for 3 and the shower was a bit of struggle (bit more than dripping) due to probably overload of guests at the time. Though the food is good, if you are in a hurry and the place is full, best to provide extra time since they cook/serve per table individually.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff very clean place to stay
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff
Cons: Small room and noisy
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Staff was very friendly and eager to take care. Felt like being at home. Thai food was at it's best in the small and indiginous restaurant at the property. Massages were a huge relaxant after long day of walk and travel
Cons: Nothing in particular. Would have loved the place a notch more if there was an elevator to 2nd floor to carry heavy bags up and down
8.8 Excellent
Pros: very friendly and a lot of thought has been put into the hotel
Cons: Hadn't realised that we had to pay extra to use the jaccuzzi. I don't know if the website mentioned the extra payment anywhere or not; but it was very clear on promoting that the hotel had these facilities, which attracts custom, and so extra costs should be just as clearly promoted so that the extra custom can be just as clearly able to make an informed choice.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Fantastic friendly staff nice and clean. Nice breakfast great value for money. The staff will do anything to accommodate your needs. Would definitely stay again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were so welcoming and helpful from the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble. The stay was tranquil and relaxing and the spa package was such good value for money. Would definitely recommend.
Cons: Nothing everything was perfect. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable.

Pros: Great staff and beautiful rooms. We were offered an upgrade but decided to stick with our original choice, the Red room.. v sumptuous!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very nice and welcoming and the facilities were good
Cons: Although a very nice and more than adequate continental breakfast, I feel that the option of a full English should be included in the price.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful we enjoyed our stay
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff helpful and Breakfast really good. We arrived on a particularly hot day and requested a fan which was supplied. A pleasant experience.
Cons: Design of bathroom fittings did not quite provide adequate flat surface for needs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Tasteful decor and furnishings, efficient and friendly staff and little extras such as bottles of water in bedrooms. We liked the fact that plates of food didn’t come piled up with chips etc. I.e. Allowances were made for both those with a small appetite as well as a large one.
7.0 Good
Pros: All staff helpful and friendly. Continental breakfast was very good. Prompt restaurant service. Good parking.
Cons: Couldn't understand why rooms were 'themed' - our room had no sign of anything to do with Chopin. Room wasvratger dark. One ceiling light not working.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Décor of the room (Fagan) was nice, breakfast was good and staff were very friendly.
Cons: The room was a bit cold after the heating system went off, electric plug in heaters had been provided but could not find enough sockets. The noise from the bar was a bit loud towards midnight.
6.8 Good
Pros: Large room, goodshower , clean
Cons: Outdated, dowdy, bed bit uncomfortable
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The Staff - very friendly and helpful - massive cooked breakfast at extra cost
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed there many times in the past so we know it well.
Cons: The only complaint is that the WI-FI coverage in our room was nonexistent.

Pros: Easy access. Nice rooms. Simple and basic. Okay for a one night stay after a wedding.
Cons: It was a little strange that there was no staff around but I didn't not like it. Was a little annoying not being able to check in early as we wanted to get ready there and then go to a wedding for 2pm

4.5 Okay
Pros: Evening food was good . breakfast resonable
Cons: 1st room smelt damp and the floor was wet, no wifi in the room. Moved to another room far better room but still no wifi
5.0 Okay
Pros: The event we attended was very good but the rest was rubbish.
Cons: The room smelt as if it had been flooded at some point and not properly dried out. The fittings in both the bedroom and shower room were worn, the pillows were like a bag of rocks - made do with the decorative cushions as it was very late when we turned in. Told reception on checking out that they were all ready for the bin and was met with a blank stare. At breakfast the table was not laid and no attempt was made to do so, staff just bought cutlery etc with each course, we never did get any napkins. Breakfast itself was mediocre.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast fine, very good location
Cons: No hot water in the morning.
4.5 Okay
Pros: The location was stunning. I love the sense of history.
Cons: Even though we had one of the hotel's best rooms, the sofa was filthy and I didn't want to sit on it. The carpet was old and dirty. The bottoms of the curtains were filthy and there was a damp and mouldy smell to the room.
6.3 Good
Pros: I loved the location and the main bullding
Cons: The scruffiness of the cottages , stained carpets , dirty Windows, Clients from main building allowed to drink outside till early hours .
4.5 Okay
Pros: Leaving. The view and setting is very nice, the hotel looks nice, it is very photogenic. The staff did try their hardest.
Cons: The rooms in the cottage, they are small, damp smelling, uncomfortable and extremely noisy. There is no porter service for a seemingly 4 star hotel. Cobwebs and signs of rot and broken and lose fittings in the cottages. There is no air con and you cannot open the windows as it opens directly onto the road into the hotel. Maybe the hotel itself is better. Service in the hotel is wanting and the selection in the bar for such a large hotel is disappointing. There is not enough staff, delays and overwhelmed staff resulting in poor service and management losing a grip on the situation. Overbooked and not enough supplies does not help.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: The room wasn’t clean, smelt damp, lots of cobwebs and spiders, dirty floor, dirty bath and shower area. The walk way up to the room in the cottage style house was dirty, run down and looked like something from a campsite. There was a wedding on when we arrived, they were over run, couldn’t cope, drunken people swearing in the restaurant and lots of people waiting to be served. The food came out cold and after returning it 3times still came back cold, terrible service. They didn’t charge for the one meal because it was still cold after 3 attempts but it still didn’t change the fact that we were very disappointed. We were the first ones there for breakfast the next morning and there was hardly any pastries out, as I said before, the hotel was full, just put more pastries out, it’s not rocket science!
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Location was good, beautiful setting by the river. Breakfast was good.
Cons: Room was very tired, looked like it was 10 years or more past being updated. Really let down the great location, which was a shame.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: People very friendly and helpful. Place very clean Breakfast was value for money.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Not a bad thing to say there. The car park is pretty decent and overall clenliness is appreciated.
Cons: Right above the kind of pub I would never visit, the kind you'd expect St George's flags to decorate. Wifi info in the rooms is wrong, and evening Internet speed cruises at 13 kb/s. The beer garden below is decorated with a stunning mound of rubbish, debris, and broken suitcases. I'll let you imagine the serenade of smoking drunks at not to round the evening off.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: All the staff were really fantastic - so friendly and accommodating. We met cleaning staff, the breakfast lady and pub staff. Breakfast was good value for money and we were allowed to bring in our own fresh fruit. The location suited our needs as it was close to town, convenience shops and within walking distance of the university. We liked access to the large pub garden, especially in the summer sun. This was an added bonus as it meant we could really relax. Our family stayed in 3 rooms and were happy with them all.
Cons: Only being picky here. I would like to have had shower gel /shampoo and conditioner supplied and a wardrobe in room 1 would have been better than a chest of drawers. These are minor things though.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pleasant owners, great breakfast
Cons: Wifi didn't work
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pretty much everything about it. The staff were excellent as soon as we walked in, made us feel welcome. The rooms are clean and tidy and comfortable, we had an en suit, which was also very clean. Been here 2 times now, as we go to raves in Coalville, would always rebook here whenever an event is on next time. 5 stars!!
Cons: Absolutely nowt!!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely staff, bathrooms and showers clean and in good use. Close to Loughborough main area and supermarket just around the corner. Bus stop end of the street.
Cons: Bed was quite small for me at 6.1. But that’s to be expected booking a single. Buses don’t run very late, last one is around 10pm.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, clean and comfortable quiet rooms. Great value for money.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: location was close to the town nice quiet area
Cons: very friendly staff understanding kind and helpfull i would reckomend to everyone
5.0 Okay
Pros: Room was comfortable enough
Cons: Staff not on premises overnight so could not resolve other noisy residents throughout the night. No breakfast provided on the first morning as staff did not turn up. This was advertised as a B&B and they then did not include breakfast in the price, this is therefore not B&B!!
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff very helpful, issues with events (outside the control of the owners) resolved to satisfaction. Friendly clientele and welcoming
Cons: other guests habits and middle of the night eccentricities, resulting in the need to change rooms
