The decor and ambience oozed class. The room was first class.
the food was excellent, the room well appointed and the staff courteous and helpful. No.
Very large beautiful room and super bathroom with jaccusi. The view was the best. Some of the complimentary fruit was past eatable and wasn't restocked. The bedspread had a noticable stain on the underside. The roomservice cheese plate was a huge dissapointment.
Beautiful Setting, lovely views, pleasant village within walking distance. The room was large incorporating a sofa, had excellent magazine choice, good tea & coffee facilities & high-quality bath robes. We were on the ground floor. The rooms above are incredibly noisy due to the constant creaking floors when people are walking about & this disturbed us greatly. I forgot my hair-washing products but the bathroom supplies only had shampoo, soap & shower gel, no conditioner.
The staff was excellent. We enjoyed a very, very nice dinner in the restaurant. Each plate was a little painting!
Happy and friendly atmosphere and most attentive staff. Excellent dining room and very good food. I feel sorry for smokers who have to stand by the entrance to smoke. a facility as big as this should be able to find a more suitable area.
Excellent standards in the rooms and en-suites. Staff gave a very warm welcome, and felt that every effort would be made to meet our needs. No bad points
Parking convenient. Check in at reception smooth. The room was spacious, warm and clean. Bathroom clean/hot water/adequate number of good size towels/robes. Became quite hot overnight-couldn't see how to turn down radiators and windows hard to open.
From the moment of arrival to the moment of departure, the staff attention was excellent and the manner respectful, helpful and polite. The attention to room cleanliness was exceptional. It was peaceful and quiet at all times and free of any noisy children. The standard of the food and its presentation was second to none A very minor point. Given it was Summer, I gues it would have been good to see the croquet pitch free of small debris and thus more tempting to try.
This is a smashing hotel. In beautiful setting away from the madding crowds (and traffic) this is a peaceful and relaxing hotel. Well maintained and up to date the staff are very attentive. The hotel is good for walking and getting away from it all but the bright lights of Birmingham are only a short drive away. Well recommended. The evening meal was a bit of an issue. I need to stay of dairy products and the only starter alternative they could offer was a salad. The portions are on the small size and the prices are not!! However, I would go recommend this hotel - make your own mind up about the restaurant!!
The restaurant service and food were very good
Big rooms We felt the hotel was becoming very dated with the general decor and appearance.
A very nice hotel with good old fashioned values. Helpful staff & agood menue at the bar
the staff and the food were excellent, the setting was delightful the bed was too soft
The location and setting, the comfort and the welcoming staff.
The restaurant and the Maitre D were excellent Upgarde the self service tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms for example supply small cafetieres
The dinner in the restaurant was excellent
Good standard accommodation in terms rooms and public spaces, backed up my excellent food.
The first mornng I had to wait an hour to get served for breakfast and the breakfast was cold. The second day it was buffet style and again stone cold. I dont think the staff or managment had any interest in there clients. I could write a book on all the things I could fault. I will not use it again.
I know this hotel over many visits but this one was not good. The aircon/heating is very poor. This has been a problem for seveal years. The breakfast this time was not good and we now believe was microwaved from the previous day. There is no elevator in the hotel and as a result we will move to an alternative for the future. Hotel used to be good but has stood still over time and is simply a conference/wedding center now it seems.
Warm clean room - nice food no complaints
The staff and the improvements There was very little vegitarian options on the menu, the quality of food and the choice could do with improving
Very pleasant and helpful staff. Varied and very generous breakfast. Very slight shortfall on bathroom cleanliness standard.
Its location, Clean friendly, excellent value breakfast for those who are walk in
The staff were exceptional helpful and welcoming. The restaurant was pleasant and had a good help-yourself buffet breakfast. At the time, refurbishment works were in progress, but otherwise we could not fault the hotel.
Free internet service
The staff are all excellent, very friendly and helpful. Good choice of food on both the bar and restaurant menus.
needs a serious refurb
On a very cold weekend it was really warm inside. The staff were very friendly. The bathroom needed a bit of a re-vamp
The room was nice and facilities were great.
clean hotel, quiet location, good cooked breakfast i did read the reviews of this hotel and the only negative thing was the bed, which proved to be correct, the bed in room 5 was rock hard with no give giving two night uncomfortable sleep,i did report this on deaparture
breakfast was cold and disorganised
The bed was just not comfortable.
Good facilities, including use of leisure centre
Staff No video / DVD
Good wine list. Efficient staff in bedrooms and on reception. Grounds / location excellent Food was good but why not leave vegetable dish on table.
My husband and I were most impressed with the hotel and thought that the service, food and freindiness of the staff were excellent. This was our second stay at the hotel and would safely recommend the hotel to anyone considering a stay. Absolutely none all expectations were met and exceeded.
Lovely staff and the sausages at breakfast were yummy. Bed a tiny bit hard
Rooms were very modern with flat screen TV etc.
I had heard good things about this hotel, and the approach and exterior was lovely - and in a nice location. it was very clean and functional. When I arrived, I was a little disappointed to find it was a lot like an old folks home. It was fairly sparse and the decor was all a little bit stale. Be warned, if you go into Bewdley, everything is shut in the winter!
Good leisure failities, clean. Kettle and remote control didn't work properly. Only enough coffee for one cup per person. Bed so uncomfortable we both had bad back ache for couple of days afterwards. Had to pull bed out because it didn't fit in the headboard fixture properly so squeaked everytime you moved. Restaurant so expensive for very average/poor meal and they tried to charge us £45 for breakfast we hadn't had.
The fact that we could have use of all the facilities. The staff were all very welcoming.
The hotel is quiet and comfortable with adequate, if slightly out-dated facilities. The bed mattress in the room was in need of renewal
Because of a slight hiccup over arrangements we were upgraded to a suite. the staff were professional and helpful; the room itself was lovely, spacious and comfortable.
The staff were absolutely brilliant, very helpful with local info and booking cabs etc... Booked double but had 2 singles pushed together!
Excellent hotel with good facilities in a pleasant and convenient location
They actually phoned us a taxi so we could go into town and eat The hotel had a power failure so were unable to provide food, television and the heating was off half the night, we understand these things happen but to still charge guests full price for sub standard facilities is a not very good customeer relations
Very helpful cheerful staff, very good breakfast, set in beautiful countryside. Room very cold on arrival, no bedside lights only overhead spotlights, terrible television picture. Bar area very cold, food and drink very expensive, spa and pool in separate building.
The care from the staff and the food were both good. Changed room without fuss when there was a problem with hot water. No dislikes. It suited me as it was located close to my business destination and had the facilities I required for a short stay.
after staying at hotels of lets say 4 or 5 star the granary hotel was by far a better place to stay,i was treated like a human being rather than someone that was just putting cash in the till, rooms brill, staff are the nicest people you could meet and the breakfast was very very good, thank you for a great stay, evrything was perfect
It was very peaceful and quiet being out in the country. The food was excellent. No cable tv just basics.
Clean, friendly, relaxed, not too formal, towels changed regularly, varied adaptable breakfast menu, pleasant rural location, hotel buildings pleasant look and feel, staff friendly and helpful. Maybe restaurant a little expensive for us, on a regular basis, but I gather it is renowned in the area and also offers a good value, good quality carvery at lunch time.
Excellent restaurant in terms of menu options and quality of food
The hotel restaurant was particularly good Hotel restaurant was closed on a sunday evening
Service for the hotel was friendly and efficient, easy check in and check out, and despite the Hot water not working one morning the staff were very apologetic and it was fixed the same day. The restaurant was not very good, very slow service, expensive and pretty tasteless food. Wireless was Glitchy, needing frequent passwords throughout the evening.
Good facilities and comfort We were served courgettes for dinner every night for four nights; we would have liked more imagination in the vegetable department
Quiet location, comfortable beds, duvet and not blankets The extractor in the bathroom was extremely noisy and this was reported to the recetionist at checkout.
Staff, quality of premises and an excellent evening meal at a very good price Not a bad point but an observation: The same standard was applied to breakfast as the evening meal which meant I had to wait 15 minutes for my hot breakfast to arrive from ordering. Business people like to be quicker at breakfast
Excellent bar and restaurant, with a 'locals' atmosphere, both staff and customers made us feel part of Bewdley.
The site next to the river. The comfortable rooms. The friendly staff The great atmosphere in the pub. The excellent breakfast. The Wye Valley Brewery Hereford Pale Ale - the best beer I have ever tasted - and I've tasted a lot!!!!! Minor quibble - staff smoking while they checked us out.
the room was superb and stunning the location, the food was great and the hotel staff very helpfull, the bar was frienly and prices reasonable
The food is very imaginative, with the menu changing to reflect the seasons. All ingregients are locally sourced. Breakfast only available from 8am. If one has an early meeting in Birmingham, as I often do, then breakfast is very rushed.
Friendly staff; good pub atmosphere
location by the river, friendly staff, good food lack of directions made it difficult to find, lack of a comfortable chaire to sit on
The beautiful view of River Severn and the wonderful food in restaurant Had to leave hotel at 0830 but unable to obtain cooked breakfast before this 0900
Nicely situated very quiet cutte country hotel with moderen clean rooms.
View, silence, helpful staff, central location, facilities in the room; the food Late start to breakfast [9am]; lack of car parking facilities
The staff were excellent, especially the Bar Staff in the evening on arrival. He was extremely polite and helpful throughout. The room could possibly of been a little cleaner as there were a fair few cobwebs scattered around!
Quality and cleanliness of accommodation. Peaceful location. Trying to get in! No one around when arrived and no signs whatsoever to indicate that it was the right place or where to go to check in.
Clean, comfortable and newly refurbished. Excellent country location in parkland. Have to drive to the pub to get an evening meal. Boiler in room a bit noisy (soundproof the cupboard and set the timer so it doesn't run at night??). Would like a kettle in the bedroom.
Lovely welcome on arrival. Nothing - good budget B&B
The people who owned the hotel were friendly and accommodating. The room could have been cleaner.
The welcome was warm and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable The breakfast was wonderful and service by the host was excellent. I would recomend staying there. My wife and I have to return to the area next year and we are going to stay there.
Easy access ample parking Room needed a bit of a dust
Excellent breakfast, friendly welcome, parking available, big room Room on the chilly side
Room well suited to seniors who like to have some (Down Time) during the day and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast prompt and could be adapted to individual tastes. Road noise. We are accustomed to a rural lifestyle at home.
Location, Owner friendly ,breakfast good, free off street parking A tired guest house in need of major refurbishment. On entering a musty smell pervaded the room. Bathroom fixtures were broken, handle on door broken, cracked and loose tiles no glasses to use. Our room was cluttered with no room for our cases. The bathroom had no heating and the central heating was just about enough to take the chill off the room . Only had one bath towel and one hand towel between two of us. Owner never took the time to tell us about a hairdyer we found it on the last day hidden in a draw.
The breakfast was very good All the rest
Friendly staff, a spacious room, peaceful, and a v nice breakfast. A little too pricey for what you get.
Staff friendly and helpful, able to have early breakfasts
