We had a 4th story ocean front condo. We really enjoyed the excellent view from all our windows. Unit 434 had good furniture but the unit itself was slightly above Motel 6 quality (it needs to be upgraded). The complex was nice with pretty landscaping, quiet, very clean, great location for traveling around the island with wonderful front desk and concierge staff.
Unit has been updated with nice furnishings. Location is convenient to a number of golf courses and has good beach walks.
i have read alot of reviews here and some made me second guess if i had made the right choice staying here. But when we did arrive we had six people with us and we stayed in room 434 it had plenty of room for us and was a nice room that overlooked the ocean and the pool. the pool was nice with the hot tub spent just about every evening there and met alot of people from around the world there. the beach isnt a good place to swim cause it is shallow and rocky but it is nice to sit and watch the sunset. also the room had a couple of boogie boards which we used the whole week. stores and restaurants are just a short drive down the road as is a grocery store. we rented snorkel equipment from snorkal bobs for $9.00 a person for the week which was awsome just remember to ask where to go snorkaling before you leave.
Great if your just looking for a place to sleep. Older condo, a little noisy but clean. Tyoical pool and liked being able to BBQ every night. Not a beach to really swim off of but great for paddle or to enjoy the view. Perfect if you just need a place to sleep.
Accomodations were excellent. Beautiful decor - and well maintained. Well stocked with essentials and then some! Quite and peaceful location. Really enjoyed the community barbeque set up - encouraged guests to meet the neighbors. Very convenient to activities without being in crowded are . Only disappointment was condo on side of building with limited view of ocean. Short walk to beach - very rocky 'sand'. Would stay here again.
this condo was a very nice place to stay . well worth the money. already told many friends . planning my 2nd trip back to this condo.
The condo was nice. Location OK. Not much of a beach right by the hotel but there were others in the area although probably not within walking distance. I would recommend renting a car. Clean rooms, good view. Had all the appliances that we needed. Family oriented and quiet. We had trouble checking in after regular office hours. There was mix up due to us arriving on later date. Also, when I booked the hotel nothing was sad about there being 'off hours'.
We were very impressed with our condo. The space was very user-friendly, the rooms were comfortable and well supplied. The scenery was beautiful. We would love to stay there again.
The front office was fine and the pool was fine, But the room we had was 421 and the bed came out of the wall that would have been fine but we could not figure out why we were so sore in the mornings after sleeping on this bed. We thought it was just a old bed but no it was more that that we had been sleeping on a box spring with a foam pad on it about 1 to 2 inches. I was not happy after finding this box spring but we only had one more night so we just slept on it anyway. We will never go back to this place we will be looking for another place next year. first thing to do is check the bed if you stay in this room. The carpet was not that clean either and the room had a bad smell when you walked in the door.
Most amazing renovated room with a view! Stainless steel appliances, and granite counter tops! So amazing! We would go back ANY DAY! We spent 2 weeks there! Cooked our own meals most nights, they had all the utensils and pots and pans! Everything! Make sure you sign the guest book. All the rooms are different in their layout and furniture so you may get let down. This was more of a relaxing, do whatever you want vacation. Didn't rush to get things done. Most days we just layed on the beaches! Enjoy!
This particular room had painted cinderblocks for walls, old furniture, and minimal Hawaiian ambiance, however, it was a decent place to stay boasting beach access, community gas grills, a small pool, and landscaped grounds. Our room was on the street-side of the Plumeria Building, so we got a great view of Haleakala on the left of our lanai and a slighty obstructed view of the ocean on the right. We could definately hear road noise from inside the room, but we honestly didn't notice it after the initial observation. The kitchen was clean and provided everything we needed. (Groceries were outragious, but we still saved a bundle by eating breakfast in our room every morning and the occasional dinner.) I'm sure if you request a room closer to the back of the building, they'll help you out if they can, and you'll be glad you did. Every room is privately owned, I believe, so decor and ambiance will vary significantly. This is the cheapest hotel you'll find with a full kitchen and beach access (trust me, I looked every day for two weeks). Kehei is definately the best local for booking a hotel as it is minutes away from Wailea where you'll find Makena Beach and Big Beach (think sand that feels like confectioners sugar) as well as being a beautifully scenic 20 minute drive from Lahaina (the Gatlinburg, TN of Maui). If you decide to take the LONG road trip to Hana, keep in mind that the drive and pit-stops are what you should focus on since Hana is NOT a destination in itself (we were expecting the Emerald City). Drums of the Pacific at the Hyatt Regency was a phenominal Luau (can't go wrong with free Mai Tais and the best food you'll EVER eat!)
The room we had was terrible. It was tile floors all over, and it smelled like Pinesol. We had to buy air freshener but it was only a temporary relief. There was no TV in the bedroom. The door to the bedroom was broken. The bathroom was old. The bed was old, and the sheets were ugly. We don't recommend this Resort.
i have stayed at this establishment for the pat two years. the first time was excellent. this time, everything was good except for two things: we had bed bugs and they were fumigating during the last day of our stay for a bug infestation problem. also, the phone in the room was not working. we called the management company and they said that they would send someone out but the matter was not resolved. the two ladies in the front office were very kind and helpful. they even stowed our luggage for us until the time of our flight.
Pros: Great location, concierge was helpful in recommendations, had unexpected ocean view, price Cons: The whole room, furniture, and towels stank like mildew. Room was not cleaned when we arrived. Blanket was visibly unclean. Bed very uncomfortable and uneven. It's rated 2 stars and that's what you get :( We were very disappointed with this place. Maui was great and Kihei is a great location that's central to everything!
Room was clean, but dumpy. Location was excellent. Bed was ''prestressed'' and linens were thread bare. Cleaning staff did not speak english and one Russian girl snapped my head off when I asked for a roll of toilet paper. I had to go buy my own. The room had a great view, and was clean, but the furniture looked and felt like it came from garage sales of from the side of the road with a ''free'' sign on it. The kitchen was functional, but again, most of the utensils probably came from a thrift store or flea market. And the internet service was exspensive, like $X for just a few days.
The place was o.k. The room was kind of dirty. I did call the condo number, and I think they cleaned some of the things. Because it is a privately owned condo, I think they have more people coming and going and less time to clean the rooms. Our Concierge was very helpful and nice. We planned different activities through him. It was definetly a big help having someone who knows the island. However, even the Concierge wasn't enough to convince me to stay there again. Mahalo......
My husband myself and our daughter Sara and her son Dakotah stayed in room 230.It was nice but we would have liked a 2bedroom upgrade, on day 2 one was available for $800 more, too expensive. Our view of ocean was slightly obstructed by trees. Our 5 year old grandson lived in the pool. We had a mini wedding reception in the courtyard, Loved the grill area.Seemed close to everything, ideally situated in the middle,Would stay here again, Did not know each unit was privately owned.
These condos are ideal for someone on a budget. The managment company was always reachable and if we needed anything they were there. The condo was equipped with a little bit of everything you needed. I would deffinetly refer people to this property. And would stay there again.
We called and notify about plane delays,7 hrs. Room was not ready upon arrival at midnight. It took till 1 AM to get us a room in an other resort a mile away. It is not close to the beach. You have assign parking.
We had a great trip, nice view from the Hotel. I just wish the listing explained more that the hotel was a condominium and had no service available.
As you drive up to the condo, it looks run down- but when you enter, it is worse! Our unit was ''upgraded'' and had unfinished walls, a kitchen from the 70's and an avocado green, rusted and stained tub! Two TV's but only one worked. Laundry is NOT in the unit, but on each floor and many ''basics'' are not provided. The Pool was nice and not very busy- Condos are close to the beach and the really fun Kehei area.
