The staff were very helpful and the place was very clean. The noise, the walls are very thinly constructed, I heard people going to the toilet either side of my room (277). You could easily hear conservations all around and they had a heard of elephants staying in the room above one night I was there, and they had a function during my last night where the band was quite loud!
the leisure facilities no
Very helpful and well informed staff. Major event happening in Glasgow at the time and the hotel was very busy, but all staff were courteous. Our room during our 1st stay(July 27/28 was definetly not the same calibre as our 2nd stay(Aug 9). For the same price, the room on our 2nd stay was far superior.
Nice room. Great breakfast. Clean. beds were not as comfortable as one would expect at this type of hotel
The carvery and subsequent breakfast the next day were superb. While it is understandable as the Hotel developed, I found it difficult to find my room (225)
Everything was really good. It was quite far from the city centre, though Paisley was also a good place to stay. Further, swimming pool hours for Hotel guests were only for two hours in the evening so I couldn't use it.
The food was excellent especially the carvery. I particularly liked my first taste of haggis! The equipment in the gym was outdated and not as good as that in other 4* hotels that i have stayed in.
Good hotel for business visit with friendly staff in all departments The television behind the Reception desk
Very noisy, some sort of cooling fan just outside window operating 24/7
Room was very good, the food in the restaurant was also very good and reasonably priced. The room was uncomfortably hot (even with the windows open) and I didn't really sleep very well as a result.
Very clean with friendly, smartly dressed staff. Good food. The style of rooms where glass is used extensively around the bathroom area.
The friendliness of the staff especially Maureen and Tom who greeted us on our arrival and were there to say farewell. Nothing
Proximity to Glasgow International Airport is excellent as is easy access to the cities of Paisley and Glasgow. The owners of this family run small hotel could not be more friendly or accomodating. The rooms of this converted 200 year old merchant's house are generally large and feel airy with high ceilings. The one-way traffic system in Paisley is confusing and makes getting to the hotel difficult if you have just picked up a hire car at the airport.
Wow! I cannot say enough nice things about this hotel! First of all it is an architectural jewel!! The main rooms (dinning, entry hall and staircase) are all very traditional with great molding, paneling and charm, but the room was totally sleek and modern. It was so lovely, and the staff was so helpful!! The directed me to a local pub that would still be serving dinner (I got in late), the pub they recommended was utterly perfect and the food was great as well. They were also very helpful in getting me to the museum I was trying to find and in all my stay was made much nicer because of the hotel I stayed at. I will be back and definitely will stay with the folks at the Ashtree again! Nothing, it was perfect.
this hotel was the best accommodation we had in Scotland. Room was beautiful, quiet. Extremely convenient for an early flight out of Glasgow airport.
I could not fault the hotel. My room and the hotel facilities were excellent. The location is very quiet despite being so close to the town centre, and it is very handy for the airport. I very much appreciated that they offer evening meals.
Rooms were spacious and the staff was fantastic.
An oasis in Paisley Only thing was we ended up paying twice as took second payment on card which made booking as well as the one we paid with. Being sorted out so not an issue in end.
Central location, warm welcoming, very clean, modern tidy hotel with friendly staff!
This is a lovely, listed building hotel. The staff could not have been more helpful and pleasant. I would recommend staying here to anyone.
Quiet environment although within walking distance to town facilities, helpful, pleasant staff
It was a very comfortable hotel. Staff made you feel very welcome. There was not enough towels in the bathroom.Did not seem to be anybody manning the bar.
The staff are always very friendly and efficient every time we stay at the beardmore and I would reccomend the hotel to everyone N/A
Very nice, clean facilities, nice rooms and is situated right on the River Clyde - nice for strolls along the river. Advertised as having an airport shuttle since the facility is near the airport. They in fact only have a part time shuttle, which operates only when they have sufficient staff. The shuttle never operates on Sundays, and on other days, depends on whether or not they have a third person at the front desk.
Nice clean room with a comfortable bed and great services Somewhat difficult to navigate to
Great rooms, plenty of space and a nice pool The bar food especially the steak was over priced given the portion size and that 50% was uneadible!
Quiet and peaceful location along the river. Very comfortable and clean room. Will stay here again when visiting family in Glasgow.
Hotel offers free collection/drop off to/from Glasgow Airport (gla). Staff are very helfull and friendly
facilities where excellent accommodation very good good location to visit loch lomond and the surrounding area also close to go shopping in glasgow nothing to report
Good (shallow) pool, jacuzzi, steamroom & sauna. Quiet, no fuss. Staff friendly in a 'hospitally' way... Near to Dalmuir station to get into city centre. Lots of parking! Didn't realise it was part of a hospital! Spooked us when we arrived, but wasn't really a problem in the end.
Late check out time and fact you can have breakfast delivered to room.
walls are paper thin. we were kept up by a late arriving resident of the room next door who kept trying to open the connecting door. poorly marked from main road, just 2 blocks away.
Room was excellent, staff helpful, grest value
Very friendly and helpful staff; breakfast at 4.30 in the morning (on our way to Prestwick Airport) was no problem at all. It's not full of character, but is a comfortable place to stay, convenient for Prestwick Airport
Restaurant, friendly staff
The room was well equipped and comfy The insrtuctions for getting to the hotel were poor and resulted in us having to drive around for 35 mins
Cleanliness, design and comfort. Friendliness and efficiency of staff. Central location. Good friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
Thr hotel was very comfortable good breakfast.
Very clean and big rooms; excellent service; evening meal good; good value for the price Minor quibble - although the breakfast buffet is good, the cooked breakfast was a bit 'mass produced' rather than fresh to order
Very comfortable room and good facilities
the hotel was modern and had a fresh feel about it the rooms were spacious and staff were very accomodating
The hotel was very modern, clean and well equipped. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Convenient situation to access west coast of Scotland. The amount of cigarette "butts" at the entrance to the hotel.
Friendleness of staff / picking up from airport with no problem... With weddings and functions in the hotel they said they were too busy ...I had to ask for something three times before it was resolved
the relaxed friendly welcoming atmosphere. a group of 12 of us were staying on friday and saturday night. bar was ckised when we returned from an evening out and we were not allowed to sit in the lounge and have a few drinks with our friends before going to bed on the saturday night, didnt want to go to a roomand disturb other guests.
The restaraunt was good, also the location
All the staff were wonderful and really helpfull we had dinner in their restaurant and I would highly recommend it. We would re-visit this Hotel
Staff were extremely efficient and very friendly.
The helpful friendly staff, they could not have been more welcoming and attentive
Good solid hotel TV was outdated
Good selection for breakfast
Recently renovated to a very high standard. The rooms were excellent and dining and wine list were first class - catered for a glutten free diet
Friendly staff and good food. Large room with bath. Only received free bottle of water for first night.
It was friendly, very comfatable, clean and pleasant Slight mix up about exact location
Room was a nice size. There was a tower fan available and an iron and ironing board in the room. The garden furniture was lovely and comfortable No shelf in shower for shampoo / conditioner. Existing samples kept falling off fixture on wall. No waste bin in bathroom. My partner is 6' 5" and walked into the shower curtain rail. The price of alcohol is way too expensive. £6.00 for a glass of wine.....
Decor in the hotel was very good and there was a relaxed atmosphere, bedroom was particularly well fitted and clean. Bathroom was outstanding. The arrangements for breakfast were not made clear by staff. The buffet area was too small and cramped, cereals etc. The hot plated breakfast was table service.
the food at the hotel was superb also the rooms are very nice all the staff are very friendly,
Good value for money. Location isnt great, on a main road beside a petrol station. Not much happening in Troon either.
Location, friendly staff, excellent room, including decor, and food. Ideal for seeing around seaside towns nearby.
The modern decor albeit in an old Inn, cleanliness, friendliness of the staff, the excellent quality of food. Exceptionally good value. Music in the corridors leading to bedrooms was a little bit loud!
How modern it was, and the standard of food Nothing i didnt like.
i thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel, although i would say that the attention to detail in the single room was not quite as high as in a double as my friends have stayed before. as i said, i think there could have been a bit more attention payed to the room. for instance, the toiletries weren't arran aromatics, which i think is normally a very nice feature, and the heating wasn't on.
The staff were all very accommodating, the room was comfortable and the leisure facilities were welcome. The location is very good and convenient. The signposting, or rather lack of it, meant it took a little longer to arrive and enjoy the facilities. The breakfast service was a little chaotic, slow and unclear despite friendly staff.
Service was excellent. All staff very welcolming . A special mention to Emma who served our breakfast - A credit to the hotel.
easy access to swimming pool
ease of access to Prestwick Airport
The views and the quality of the food
The position of the hotel is amazing. The comfort level & attentive staff make for a very relaxing time.
My room was way too small and stuffy, breakfast was over cooked.
Friendly, professional staff, on this occasion went out of their way to arrange another room. My elderly mother was unhappy being on another floor from myself. Food was very tasty, but could have been warmer. Breakfast very good, seated and served quickly. We travel to Ayrshire once a year for a particular reason, I would have no reason not to book again next year. The hotel lift was out of action, staff gave reason for this, unfortunately the party included my 87y mother who is not very good on stairs. However staff assisted with luggage and we took our time climbing to the 2nd floor.
Evening meal at group birthday party was excellent Very small room and bed
I stayed at this hotel because I was playing Royal Troon the next day. From my room I could the 18th of Troon and the sea behind it. The hotel is easy to find, check in was easy, wi-fi was dead simple and worked well and the room was tidy. The bar downstairs was more than adequate and sitting out on the porch looking at the sea was very pleasant. When I'm in Troon again, I will likely stay here.
Lovely friendly staff, excellent food, stylish and comfortable decor. Would not hesitate to stay again. Worth it just for the fantastic views alone.
The room had a luxury feel to it. The room was too warm when we arrived so had to turn off the radiators.
The Room was in a brand new complex just opened in May 2010 so everthing was new. Ironically, the new complex is away from the hotel main building, meaning you need to don a coat for breakfast and other meals. The heated towel rail in the bathroom didn't work and it took three calls to Reception to be moved to another room
Cottage in grounds was exellent, food was good and we used room service a couple of times None
THe room was most comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was also very good as was the service nothing
I liked the atmosphere within the hotel it was very friendly and the staff were very attentive and eager to please and allowed us to relax which was the reason for our stay nothing to report all was very stisfactory
The staff attitude was excellent, couldn't be more helpful. The cottage itself was perfect for the week we stayed there as we could come and go as we pleased, the room was always serviced promptly and we had agreat trip. The walk along the beach in the morning certainly blew the cobwebs away! The mechanical equipment on the roof of the kitchens and beside the vending machine were very noisy, especially during the night. Needs acoustic enclosure around it.
See below None
Good value Good breakfast. Pleasant staff
this was a very pleasant hotel good service and very friendly
Staff very friendly, rooms clean and newly decorated. All extras in the room - hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Open kitchen - cooking smells from breakfast linger on your clothes if you sit too long in the restaurant area
Excellent friendly ness of the staff will go out of there way to make you very welcome. Breakfast excellent really set you up for the day. There was nothing I did not like about the hotel. But would like to make one suggestion. Being a women I would have liked a plug socket under the mirror to make it easier for a hairdryer .
The staff was very serviceminded and helpful. The only bad thing was that you could hear every sound from the room above.
Very comfortable, was made very welcome, breakfast was great. All in all a great stay. booking.com stated the room was en-suite, therefore I did not bring a dressing gown - maybe one could be provided?
The ability to offer evening meals was helpful. I have had to cancel due to the current adverse weather conditions. The hotel were unsympathetic, and insisted on charging the full room rate. I will therefore think twice about staying again.
Pleasant Staff and clean Room My booking was descried as En Suite, however no En suite was provided, which was a bit inconvenient
The food was very well made and tasted grate and was also very cheap
Excellent service from the reception girl. Loise I think her name was. Breakfast was a bit confused ie I was still waiting for tea when I left. No real control of heating in room, extremely warm. Resorted to opening windows, adjusting radiators - no air con?
Very comfortable room liked the wet room My room was above the outside seating area which had a TV. The TV was switched on at 7.15am and was not switched off all day I had to ring downm to reception at 10.30pm to ask to have it switvhed off it was too loud
Very clean and modern hotel. Huge room decorated very nicely. Food was not fantastic.
location did not like the fact that the room had wasps and both myself and neice go stung
Convenient for Glasgow Airport. Rooms very modern.
newly refurbished hotel with good food and attentive staff
The friendly staff who engaged with all guests particularly as the hotel had just re opened after major refurbishment and for some staff it was their first day working in the hotel environment. There was a few minor teething problems i.e. no glasses in the room from which to drink from and no chairs but I did not consider these as a major problem.
Was very impressed with the fact that despite not having any record of our booking.com reservation, the hotel still gave us an excellent executive level room for the price of our original standard room booking. Staff were very helpful and the room itself was very luxurious, clean and comfortable. We were staying for a wedding being held there, but would definitely stay again if we ever had to stay in Johnstone again.
I have stayed in the hotel previously and found once again value for money. In addition to this the staff are very helpful and professional. the food is superb and the portions very good, great atmosphere in the lounge bar
The staff were very helpful and friendly giving a pleasant stay. The rooms were of a very good standard after the recent renovations. Although the first room we were given had been fumigated a few days before to remove a wasp’s nest, there were numerous dead wasps on the carpet and a few still flying round. After pointing this out we were immediately moved to another room that was less luxurious
As we were attending a family funeral we did not look at the hotel in this way. However the service provided especially the friendly staff was very good.
The handy location for seeing family The full price was a little to much, but as I got a deal it was well worth th e price we paid for 2 days and other a weekend as well
Our stay was excellent very comfortable and enjoyable We attended a function at Hotel and were let down by the fact the when we left our table to dance staff removed half full glasses this is the only thing that marred our stay.
Everything, Excellent experience
Very comfortable, friendly staff and good food.
noisy, looking out onto car park - no blinds on windows, could not see the sea from the hotel as stated on website, no sky tv, no mini bar
The help and friendliness of the staff, the quiet location and easiness of access by road.
Hotel surroundings, staff and accessability were excellent No comlaints whatsoever
friendly relaxing atmosphere
I found my stay at the Watermill Hotel most enjoyable with the view from my room of the waterfall absolutely wonderful, I will definitely book again. Nothing.
Staff are very friendly and helpful, and the food is good. We somethimes get woken up by the creaky floorboards.
Staff were very friendly, food was excellent, and plenty of it. Accomodation was good. The noise from the creaky floorboards above our room, thid did tend to wake us earlier than we would have wished.
Nice, big room with all possible comforts. Good english breakfast. No hairdryer in room as advertised. Breakfast could have been warmer.
Ample parking, elevator for easy access to rooms with luggage. Good bar meals, and lovely restaurant (although I did not use the restaurant personally). The decor in the upstairs hall corridors and rooms is very tired and jaded, and can appear grubby and unkempt in places. It could certainly do with 'brightening up' a little, as this can give the wrong impression of a nice comfortable and friendly hotel.
Warm welcome, well furnished, comfortable room and lounge and with excellent breakfast None
High standard of 'furnishings and fittings'. Beautiful house. Very friendly, polite and welcoming hosts. Could not be more helpful. None
Staff once notified of twin room mix-up were quick to resolve the issue- hotel was very good and would recommend/stay there again in future Original booking in process took aroung 15 minutes as person could not find the booking no lift service offered for my elderly mother - room on 2nd flr and no offer of assistance with bags
Relaxation a nice meal in the evening after exploring the Clyde coast then a nice comfy bed and a loveley breakfast and the staff were all wonderful. One of the few hotels where there was nothing to complain about
nice and central the noise coming from adjacent room when people walkeing, floor creaked and could hear everything.
