Situated on a former coconut plantation by Masoko Pwani Beach, Kilwa Beach Lodge offers private beach access, deep-sea fishing, snorkelling and hippo-watching trips. There is also a restaurant and bar on site. The rooms are all located along the beach and feature eco-friendly, local materials. Some rooms also have a balcony or patio with outdoor seating. The private bathrooms all come with a shower. Guests can enjoy seafood at Upepo Pwani Restaurant and a variety of drinks at Babu’s Bar. Banquet and conference facilities are also available. Day trips to the historical Kilwa Ruins can be arranged upon request. Kilwa Lodge is located just 2 km from Kilwa Airport and 3 km from Kilwa Masoko town. The Kilwa Ruins are 6 km away.
Pros: Absolutely peaceful place with excellent service. They arranged for us trip to Kilwa Kisiwani and Songo Mnara as well as transport from the lodge to the village (the place is a bit far away from the Kilwa Masoko). The food was also delicious and very reasonably priced (excellent dinner cost us 18500 Tanzanian shillings). They serve as well local beer! To sum up - perfect place to rest and visit nearby landmarks.
Cons: Too frequent (even for Tanzanian conditions) blackouts.
Pros: Beautiful location on a picturesque beach. Very friendly and hospitable staff. Relaxed atmosphere. Hotel arranged a trip to the Kilwa Ruins, excellent guide and realistic price
Cons: No hot water for shower
Pros: Kilwa Beach Lodge is beautifully situated right on a sandy beach with many palm trees which add a tropical summer flavor. We spent 3 nights in one of the ocean view huts (simple, but clean and nicely decorated). Bed was comfortable and mosquito net provided. There is a restaurant/beach bar and some beach facilities are also available. Warm, kind and very attentive staff members are what makes this place unique though. We felt most welcome during our whole stay! Activities organized by the lodge (Kilwa Kisiwani ruins guided visit and snorkelling on the coral reef nearby) are not to be missed! Especially Kilwa Kisiwani with Songo Mnara add on (full day trip) was a great value for money. Transfer from Dar es Salaam at reasonable price can be arranged by the lodge as well. Food was rather on the more expensive side, yet very tasty (Dula is a remarkably talented cook!) and portions are huge. We would like to thank Baja, Elvis, Dula and whole staff for making our stay so memorable and fun. Hope we will visit again one day!
Cons: I just wish we could stay longer!
Pros: Good view Good tasty food Attentive staff Bada and Max well done
Cons: .To leave
Pros: The location is perfect, not too far from town but perfectly quiet. Right on the beach, to watch the sunrise over the ocean you just need to open the door. Extremely helpful and friendly staff, management and owners! Food was great. Dinner was really special! I’d strongly recommend the guides used by the lodge to do a tour of the ruins and to go snorkelling.

Pros: The price, the beach, and the staff were all very good. Breakfast was the best meal.

Cons: The resort is quite new and in a good state at the moment but to keep this state in futur times it needs spontan an effort.
