The whole experience felt luxurious! Very relaxing . Nothing!
Staff very friendly & helpful. Luxurious manor, lovely decor. The price is a bit high.
Friendliness of staff at every point from the beginning to the end of our stay.
The staff, the food, the atmosphere no
Extremely friendly staff and old world surrounding's. Good size bedroom and well equipped with everything you would need. Excellent evening meal in the Resturaunt. Acces to the hotel is via extremely narrow roads with very few passing places. On leaving the hotel I had to reverse back a considerable distance on two occasions.
Very pleasant hotel, beautiful situation ( if accessibility along rather narrow country lanes a little 'interesting' at times). Helpful staff, lovely room. Food excellent. We did get a 'deal' on the room which made it very good value for money The weather on the first full day of our stay could have been better!
The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed without becoming inefficient. The service was courteous and responsive. I was surprised that there was no lift in the hotel.
The staff were extremely good. Also the location is lovely and quiet. The menu, though very nice did lack variety from day to day, however the food was superb.
couldn't be a nicer setting; food excellent and good value being asked on first entering Reception 'are you all right, sir?' struck me as a bit too informal & less polite than the surroundings would have suggested!
the view and pool and gym no wifi in room
Beautiful views, excellent location and very good food The service was poor
Has a good atmosphere and is welcoming. Lovely views from restaurant. Well placed for the town and for walking trips along coastline. The hotel is beginning to show its age a bit and a bit 'shabby' in parts.
The location & staff were good, and made you feel like honoured guests Prices were chaotic - we booked at one rate, then were charged £60 more - but not charged for our dinner. I pointed this out, but they could not correct, so I paid. we probably paid around the correct figure, but they really did not know what had happened
The seaview was amazing and the Restaurant was good value for money especially with the bottle of free house wine Thought the rooms looked a bit tired and the outside badly needs painting as the paint was peeling off.
Beautiful room and welcoming staff. Fabulous bathroom and great parking facilities.
Our sea-view room was extremely comfortable. The food is cooked to order and is delicious. The staff were friendly The restaurant is well staffed, but at times there seems to be a confusion of roles which results in excessive waiting to place and receive orders.
View from our room was spectacular, and very spacious
Hotel had friendly ambience. Stunning location. Comfort and cleanliness of room.General internal design and decor. Use of local craftsmen and suppliers e.g. staircase. Lack of dedicated lounge for residents to use during day or after evening meal, rather than going to room or using bar.
Lovely hotel, beautiful location, good food and excellent service from check in to check out.
sea view, access to coastal footpath, friendly staff and excellent food. Pianist at dinner. We had to pre order our meals rather than choose from a menu at the table. Breakfast was overpriced. Portions could have been more generous. No offer of more toast. Continental breakfast should have had croissants.
Quiet location, good service, wonderful views. The indoor swimming pool was rather small. The hotel was quite remote down a long windy lane. No other places to eat nearby.
Everything was wonderful - the room, the location, the view. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a 10 minute walk down to the cove, which was beautiful and worth going to despite the steep climb on the way back. The road to the hotel is narrow and you have to go slow but not "dangerous". Not really. If I am being fussy, the dinner we had did not have the "Wow" effect that we had expected.
The peace & quiet, the relaxed atmosphere, the view, the proximity to the sea & countryside. The bar wasn't very cosy - laminate flooring, one very dark wall & leather seating rather than comfy chairs.
We were particularly appreciative of your willingness to allow family members camping nearby to use our room and facilities during the daytime No. Although rates are high we felt you provide good value for money
THE POSITION, THE PEACE, THE VIEW. THE SMALL SIZE OF HOTEL AND FRIENDLY STAFF. COMPLIMENTARY CREAM TEA. DESPITE THE BLIPS BELOW WE WOULD RETURN. ROOM NOT PREPARED PROPERLY. HAD TO REQUEST ROBES & SLIPPERS & COFFEE FOR CAFETIERE BOTH DAYS. PATIO HAD NOT BEEN SWEPT, THERE WERE DEAD LEAVES & DEBRIS. PATIO CHAIRS WERE DIRTY. ALTHOUGH CHEAP TO PROVIDE, NO MINERAL WATER, SMALL PACKETS OF BISCUITS OR SACHETS OF HOT CHOCOLATE WERE SUPPLIED IN ROOM. MENU STATED ROCKET WITH CARPACCIO BUT FLAVOURLESS LAMBS LETTUCE SUBSTITUTED - NOT 4 STAR STANDARD.
The location was spectacular, 10 minutes walk to a private a beach and straight onto the Coastal Path The facilities were a bit lacking, both swimming pools were very small with the outside pool inaccessible. There was no bottled drinking water in the room, which I would expect from a 4 star hotel. The walls of the room were very thin, the cleaners were easily audible as were people walking up and down the corridor. The layout of the hotel seemed a bit odd, there was a fantastic view from the lounge but the bar was dark and windowless and the cafe seemed underutilised. The spa was also a bit of a let down as it was not easily accessible, seemed to require an appointment only.
Everything excellent. Only the booking process that wasn't very easy!
Clean, friendly staff, lovely setting. Car park a bit awkward.
Very friendly staff and highly efficient service. The staff / customer experience was on at least a par with multi-starred hotels. The building is quite old, and some thought should perhaps be given to improving the soundproofing of the rooms. One was woken several times during the night by sharp noises from adjoining rooms, which was somewhat irritating, and detracted from what was otherwise a flawless experience.
Very friendly staff, nice atmosphere in the hotel Window opens onto rather noisy road
The staff were exceptional nothing was too much trouble always has a smile and were very friendly but professional. excellent food and selection of real ales. None
We were recommended the hotel by my uncle and aunt who live in Totnes who we were wishing to visit but do not have sufficient space to accommodate us. They described it as comortable and convenient for their location in Bridge Terrace. We found that the hotel was as described and that the staff were friendly and helpful and the facilities very good. It was good being able to sit and read the papers in the upstairs sitting area and generally felt friendly and relaxed.
Very welcoming staff. Food excellent. Room comfortable but not as luxurious as we expected. Hotel situated on main square, great in daytime for shopping etc. But noisy at night
Bedroom fitted out with attention to detail and design- bed was very comfortable. We liked the toiletries and lovely perfume left for guest use in bathroom - a simple nice touch. Food , particularly breakfast was excellent and hotel had a relaxed friendly atmosphere Hotel undergoing some refurbishment to outside so didn't look attractive when we first arrived
Very friendly and helpful staff - good food in all bars/restaurant plus breakfast Only a couple of late evenings. Some furniture was moved past our room into a storeroom next door which was rather noisy especially since one of the evenings it was past 10.30pm,
very friendly and responsive staff with high customer service attributes . Also an excellent breakfast service with freshly cooked items served at the table . Much better than the serve yourself arrangements where items are left under a hot lamp system The restaurant for evening dinner is a bit overpriced. £6.45 for a starter which turned out to consist of a 4" sardine on a miniscule bed of apple slices and celeriac is pushing it a bit.
the staff at arrival was very helpful (a young gentleman and later at dinner time also a young lady)
Walking on Dartmoor Could not provide many of the items on the menu at dinner
attentrive staff & excellent food The road noise is intrusive & the matress awful!!
There was a shortgage of staff and the the overflow car park that is used by guests has been badly pitted and in need of repair for the last three visits, and its even in a worse state now, and we consider it to be dangerous to drive over. Our room (No 2) had a cracked basin and the soap dish over the bath had been broken in two and badly repaired with Mastik, and not cleaned up. Very dangerous. Also the breakfasts were not up to their usual standard, i.e. greasy.
Staff Friendly, Room very clean, plenty of hot water at all times. Table reservation for evening meal was 'find a table with scruffy hand written reserved on it'. Faulty lock on 'late night' entry door for guests.
The long wait for food in the evening although it was very good when it eventually arrived, not such a long wait for breakfast which had an excellent selection.
In general service was slow at times, although very good once you did get served.
Food Creaky floorboards
As always the location and friendliness of the Dartbridge Inn made our stay a pleasure. The food's good too! Occsionally service a bit slow-but we weren't in a hurry!
