pillows were hard and lumpy.
Please write at least 15 words We had a lovely stay. Everything was just right. Myra was very kind and welcoming and we will be back!
Felt it was a little over priced for sinbgle occupancy for a one night stay compared to other hotel prices in the area. SInce I left early the next moring I wasn't able to have breakfast. It would have been nice to have a reduction offered or a packed lunch offered instead.
Fantastic room, very friendly owner, extensive menu and we even have packed lunches made for us.
Comfortable and relaxing. Very professionally run hotel with excellent restaurant service. Very personal. The food was a bit on the expensive side, but having then eaten elsewhere locally found it to be the best quality by quite a long way! So only a small point.
A dog friendly hotel. Excellent personal service. Food and wine both very good and an especially fine scottish breakfast cooked to order.
Friendly, relaxed atmosphere with accommodating staff. Any issues raised were dealt with quickly and efficiently. Close to lots of good walks and wildlife centres. Thoroughly enjoyable.
The food was fantastic
Rooms were clean and food was excellent
Personal Service, relaxed atmosphere.
Great Host and great gourmet food with the breakfast sensational.
An excellent stay great food & wine, very comfortable room well run operation 10 out of 10! N/A
Warm welcome and always friendly and obliging owner and staff
Fantastic hotel with beautiful fittings, a very warm welcome and superb food.
Ver friendly The room we had was a bit gloomy. [dark] not easy to read as the lighting was dull, although in fairness it did say French style
The breakfast was both fresh and unusual, but without being fancy. The host was really helpful and friendly. I would recomend this hotel to others. The drawers fro clothes were falling apart, and there was insufficient shampoo and soap. Biscuits would have been nice.
Breakfasts were excellent, Hospitality very good. Plenty of walking around area. A lovely break. No one to book us in when first arrived which was a bit worrying but couldn't find fault with anything else.
Friendly service, nice food, lovely hotel in a beautiful area. no
The food was fantastic, as was the host.
The host was friendly and the room was nicely presented. We experienced a lot of noise from the wooden stairs opposite the room and we could hear music from the lounge next door and TV/talking/creaky floorboards from above.
Very clean, comfortable rooms.Everything in good working order. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nothing
The Highlander Hotel represents great value for money and was friendly and comfortable. My only negative comment would be that the decor is very outdated and could do with a bit of an overhaul, especially in the main areas of the hotel. It was ideal for families and offered great accomadation - overall I would not hesitate to recommend it, but please lose some of the floral carpets, curtains sofas !!!!!!!!!!!!
Other than its location, very little. I informed the hotel that I would be arriving late and they said that was not a problem. I arrived at 2345 to find the hotel was closed. An envelope was taped to the entrance with my name and inside were instructions to get to my room. I was an unregistered guest for the night! Breakfast was acceptable and the waitress pleasant enough. I went to the desk to check out however the receptionist was busy with another guest (no eye contact to let me know she knew I was there). After 5 minutes I left!
Its central location Beds a little small and hard
Very friendly, attentive staff, adequate facilites, quiet area, Can't think of any!!!!
Very friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble, room was clean, beds very comfortable, restaurant service was very efficient, very accessible from the A9 Bedrooms very clean but getting tired in need of some new furniture.
Hotel staff very friendly and had the the time to treat you as an individual, even though two coach parties were staying at the same time. Dinner was good quality and good value. Comfortable bar with a whole wall of different malt whiskies. Eric the barman was very friendly and can tell an amusing tale or two.
room was comfortable, enjoyed having dog staying with us in the room. shower was a bit small in our room.
Kind service and welcome. Quietness, tranquility and affordable price The imposed menu for the dinner and the too great velocity in serving the dishes.
Cheap (as in good value), clean, convenient for two ski centres, free WiFi.
Personal attitude, good food.
Very good value, clean room , good facilities.
Room was of a very good standard. Being refused bar service at 2pm in the afternoon on the grounds that the lady on reception couldn't serve us!!!
This is possibly the finest small independent hotel that I have ever stayed at in the UK, beautifully maintained and furnished but charging very modest prices for excellent accommodation in a very attractive area that has a much quieter charm than neighbouring highland towns.
Room was clean and comfy. Owners very welcoming. We didn't have breakfast, but dinner was very disappointing. Tasteless frozen veg and the vegetarian "special" was a joke. There were Italians there and it was embarrassing to think that this could be their introduction to Scottish cuisine.
The room was very nice and comfortable.
Spacious rooms, really clean, nice bathrooms and bedding.., lovely views Wifi not available throughout hotel as I couldn't get connected in my room although it did work in my daughters. Bar and restaurant were shut on the day we stayed!! I understand there was no chef but not sure why the bar had to be closed as well. Just bad timing I guess. I'm afraid we didn't like Kingussie as a holiday destination so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.
A Nice room The food was disappointing
Friendly helpful staff and clean comfortable room
Friendly, Welcoming and nothing was too much trouble Booked a single occupancy double room but when I arrived I was given a single occupancy twin room.
Most of all the staff, and also good location for spectacular sight seeing around the area (Inverness, Loch Ness, Fort William
There was nothing I did not like about the hotel.
The hotel was exceptional in everyway, the food first class and the view from the window was like a picture from a high quality holiday brochure. have already recommended to family and friends
Large bedroom & bathroom, comfortable. fantastic breakfast
Great location and great hosts.
Welcome and friendliness of owners. Also hotel had been refurbished to high standard.
Lovely Guest House, very high standard, friendly couple
cant say enough about how perfect this hotel is. 20 out of 10 for everything, other hotels take note, this is how you should all run your hotels. Thanks for an excellent stay.
It was wonderful! It was everything that the description promised - and much more!. We will certainly return - regularly! No - for us, it was perfect.
As said in other reviews, this is a great find, with really friendly hosts and an amazing breakfast. Wish we stayed more than one night.
location very good Decor need updating
No complaints whatsover went to enjoy a quiet weekend. Nothing at all.
Very friendly staff, was very impressed with all staff, couldnt be more helpful Just only really that fresh towels werent left on the first morning although it was propmtly rectified with no fuss
we liked everything about our stay at the hotel
Room was clean though a bit dated. Food was good Immediately hit with £30 surcharge as son was 21, though this was clear at time of booking on internet. Had to ask for orange juice to be filled and boking for dinner was not written down and we had to wait to get a table.
The meals were of good quality and reasonably priced. The staff were very pleasant. Liked the room enjoyed our stay but didnt like the smell of dampness from the bathroom.Would probably stay again.
It was central to all the activities we had planned - breakfast which was included in price was excellent and the evening meal was excellent and worth the price too. I would have preferred a bath to a shower (to steep my feet after long walks)
Good location; good breakfast; good price online Small room
The breakfast was excellent, easy checking in and checking out procedure. The hotel is in a great location and the fact that it has its own car park makes the stay even easier. In the comments I had asked for a double bed and they gave us a twin.
Travelling ti Inverness it was a welcome break for the night before completing our journey the next day. Excellent food.
Clean room and warm bar. Annoying beeping sound (alarm?) during the night.
Good but not all rooms are en suite No wifi in the room although it was advertised
Staff are very welcoming and helpful. The hotel has a cosy atmosphere and is ideally located in a lovely village. There is a good selction of excellent quality food. We have already booked our next visit.
Very friendly well run hotel, food excellent.
Owners welcoming kind friendly and helpful
the owners made us feel most welcome and went out of their way to add extra homely touches in our room and ensuite; breakfasts were very good, good choice and value; the bed was most comfirtable
very clean, great breakfast.
Friendly helpful owner
