Very clean and good food
\The comfort. Stairs lots of stairs
Excellent location and facilities. Good rooms and restaurants.
Staff on a break smoking directly in front of the main reception doors doesn't set a very good image for such a high classed hotel.
breakfast checkout queue
I enjoyed all aspects of my stay. The pool was beautiful and facilities were excellent. I reserved a 'Deluxe Double Room' but had to ask for our bathrobes, didnt receive the 'extra' toiletries, only soap, shower gel and shower cap which I beleive are basics.
Good Hotel My booking though this website did not work. The hotel were not expecting me - luckily they had room! Not sure if it wsa the Hotel or this webistes fault!
Relaxed atmosphere Under re-construction reception area
The leisure facilities were fantastic and the bedroom was decorated in a tasteful manner. The first room I was allocated was very noisy - I hardly slept and had to ask to be moved on the second night. The room on the second night was much bigger and quieter!
This is a small, family run pub-hotel which directly overlooks a small, quiet square in the town. There was parking space for our car in the square. The staff were all very welcoming and attentive. The room was warm and very clean with pleasant soft furnishings. The bed was very comfortable and there was a good-sized en suite with shower over bath. We ate in the restaurant where the food was tasty, well-cooked and portions were ample.
Food was very good as we have to leave at 7:00am staff made cooked breakfast at 6:30 for us at there request rooms were very comfortable and decorated would reccommend stay
Good food and very friendly staff made to feel welcome
Very attentive staff:very quiet, comfortable room. Very good food in the restaurant. no
The hoast was very freindly & helpful, also very nowledgeable on the local area. The food was localy sourced & very tasty. The location was perfectly for our walking of the Way of The Vikings for that particular leg.
Very friendly staff made it feel like a family home rather than a guest house For a cheap and short stay I have no complaints
proximity to Football stadium and Town centre.
cooked breakfast was very good car park was very cramped and difficult to get in and out of
The staff were helpful and friendly. The decor was somewhat dated and the bathroom was too small.
Convenience of location, bar evening meals were better than most, room 7 was particularly good from past experience of this hotel way back when they were anything but. Ages to check out.
easy to where we were going small cramped room, radiator blocked by bed so room felt cold, corridors cold untill you reached recepton/stairs,toilet /bathroom too small, shower over bath, dead flies on netting between double glazed units, dirty windowsill between double glazed unit, refurbishment just been completed, outside looked dingy, growth in guttering, view on to back yard, even though hotel nearly empty
nice for a single night. private appartments in between hotel rooms.
No staff on reception to book in or out . Very noisy , music so loud made floor vibrate .
handy for Scunthorpe centre all bedrooms are now non-smoking
Free car park Mould in the bathroom, room door didn't close properly (1 door hinge was torn out of the door frame) (very) loud music until midnight: I was told that there are parties/events etc. nearly every weekend
We appreciated the extremely warm welcome, especially since we had driven from Scotland and were on the deadline timed for arrival and checking in. We were welcomed with a lovely cup of tea and help to get our luggage out of the car and into the guest house. Wonderful especially when you are tired. There was not anything we did not like and would certainly use this hotel again.
Very clean and friendly place, Graham couldn't be more helpful and dealt with my dietary needs wonderfully (I am a celiac). Lovely dining room, excellent bedroom and really liked the shower None
Best breakfast this side of Scunthorpe!
The hospitality and the warmth of the host. He was absolutely delightful and most accomodating. The atmosphere was so relaxing and refreshing. The breakfast was great. The host truly personalized our stay and requests to suit our taste. A wonderful bed and breakfast setting and perfect for our tour of Epworth and the history of John Wesley and Methodism.
Lovely setting, very friendly
Excellent reccomendations for food in the area, very friendly and accomodating.
Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Rather dated decor.
We found the hotel very nice and the breakfast was good.
Very fiendly, nothing is too much trouble. None
Clean, friendly and comfortable, nice food. A bit too quiet, and needs alot of work doing to it, lots of flies indoors and bathrooms didn t have showers, i am tall and the bath was small!
Quiet, rural setting with interesting views across the garden including a wide variety of birds. Personal, friendly service and excellent breakfasts.
The proprietor was extrememly helpful. The breakfast was very good There was no shower in the bathroom. Decore is very oldfashioned
Very nice old fashioned hotel. Nice room and breakfast. Just a bath and no shower in our room!
Staff very attentive. Hotel excellent location food good
Helpfull staff Breakfast was not as good as hoped for
The staff made us very welcome and were most helpful & friendly. The room was very clean & comfortable. The main restaurant wasn't availabel to us due to a large function being held in the Sergeant Suite but we were able to order our evening meal and enjoyed it in a very relaxed atmoshpere. Can't say there was anything we did not like.
It was all correct. No
size of bathroom. choice of beer in bar room was cold on arrival, girl on reception not particularly helpful, but another member of staff found us an electric heater.
The general high standard of a recent refurbishment
The Best nights sleep I have had in ages. Staff very friendly. Wonderful stay. Thank you.
no heating very cold room.at breakfast there were no bowls or juice but came when asked for, there was no butter or toast untill asked for all in all it seemed you had to ask for nearly almost anything that you would expect to be there.
Standard of executive rooms was superb, reception staff were very freindly and efficient.
The helpfulness of the sraff The duvet on the bed was a little tatty. No shampoo!
The staff are all very nice and the food both in the bar and breakfast is of a high quality. The bedroom is spacious and warm and the showers can now be adjusted properly. Comments only: No real ale not even in bottles. Big TV screen dominating the bar is not ideal for someone who does not watch TV very often.
