Hotel Potmum - Hostel - Sapporo - Building

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Really cool hostel. Nice breakfast
Cons: The worker Who keep at dawn is a little rude
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Coffee shop in the hall was awsome, the eco ticket for a free coffee is a great idea
Cons: Hotel sorroundings are just a little of restaurants, if you wanna have a dinner or lunch you should walk for miles or get a taxi
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel itself was very easy to find; the first thing you'll see is that large cafe downstairs. The facilities were nice and clean and pretty modern looking. The staff here was really great, everyone was very nice! I stayed for 2 nights and one of the women working in the cafe even remembered that I had a nut allergy and that I didn't eat pork when I was ordering breakfast in the morning! The cafe itself is really nice and modern looking and they have indoor seating, outdoor seating, and lounge seating (comfy chairs around some low tables inside.) The Location itself isn't anything really spectacular, although it's fairly walkable to a more downtown area (25ish mins). However, there is a subway stop a 5 minute walk away and a convenience store across the street. The cafe itself stays open until 10 pm, so after being out all day, it was nice to go inside and sit down for a little while and have a drink or a snack.
Cons: I think if you're on the fence about staying here, just be aware that this place is set up like a hostel. As far as I know, everyone was quiet and respectful while I stayed there but it means you can't really be up late playing loud music without headphones or talking on the phone in your bed because there are 4-6 other people sharing a room with you. However, there are plenty of more public spaces that you can be a little louder late at night.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable Coffee was good and vouchers were provided
Cons: Slightly cramped
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location-wise it's close to the subway station which is very convenient heading to the busy downtown in just 5-10mins. It's located in a relatively quiet residential district. So if you want a balance between convenience and quietness. This is a good choice. It also got a cafe/bar in the lobby which is quite comfy as well. They serve good coffee and alcohol.
Cons: Not really much but if you are looking for food/restaurants near the hotel, then you might need to walk far.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast , Reasonable price , Big room
Cons: nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Modern new hotel, wheelchair accessible, very friendly staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Family mart is across the street! Very close to the subway, and it's easy to park!
Cons: Toilets and baths are separated
6.3 Good
Pros: room is nice, modern and clean
Cons: Staff at reception and restaurant are unfriendly and very inflexible. They dont seem to care about people staying at the hotel and are generally unhelpful
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Stuff are all friendly. Hotel desigh is cool, give you a cozy feeling. Number of beds in dormitory are perfect. I love local vibes and peaceful neighborhood. Family Mart is just across the street, plus Max Value Supermarket in the train station. It's only 3-5 min by walk, exit 3 with elevator. Exit 2 is the nearest exit, You can walk through Max Value Supermarket. There's cafe' in the moring and bar in the evening. You can check their IG to see how cool the place is.
Cons: There’s nothing much to do in hotel. Door room is not soundproof at all.

Pros: Location, good breakfast buffet, helpful staff. Lawson store on the ground floor.
Cons: Room smelled like smoke even if we were in a non smoking floor.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast had many choices. Loved the danish every morning. Amazed that the bathroom mirror did not fog up after a bath because it had a heater behind it. Only in Japan!
Cons: We had to leave at 6:00 am the day we left for the airport. I asked the front desk if we could request the kitchen to pack us a small breakfast. They were apologetic in saying that they don't do this. There are hotels that send some food with their guests who are checking out very early or going on an early tour and will miss breakfast. This simple gesture would have made us feel cared for.

When you stay at Kyukamura Shikotsuko in Chitose, you'll be in a national park, just steps from Lake Shikotsu and Lake Shikotsu. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff and food were excellent. Very friendly and delicious!
Cons: Actually I think it was all very good! No real views of the lake from the hotel itself but it's very peaceful.
6.3 Good
Pros: The staff do not help unload luggage from our car. The staff do not help to move our luggage to our room. If they do not have sufficient staff, they should provide a trolley for us to move the luggage.
Cons: There is no open air onsen. The enclosed onsen is very small. This is an Onsen hotel. We come here for the Onsen which is disappointing.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet environment with birds singing every morning. Good and delicious meal. Waitor and waitress are very polite and helpful.
Cons: Onsen is good but many guests ( I heard them talking in Japanese) didn't wash well, as the guideline said, just poured one pot water on their body before they got in the onsen bath !!
5.8 Okay
Pros: Nothing Special
Cons: Location, location on google map in Booking.com is not correct. Difficult to find the property. Room that I get is located at the end of walkway which is strength from the normal rooms.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Surrounded by nature
Cons: No bathroom in the room
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great smorgasbords for breakfast and dinner, wide choice. Out of the village but delighhtful surrounds and only 10 min away.
Cons: The damaged walks need repairing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very peaceful and comfortable hotel - great location on the shores of Shikotsu-ko. Largely Japanese clientele when we were there who pad around the hotel in their yukata speaking in hushed tones. Friendly staff and lovely onsen. Good breakfast buffet with decent western options. The lake shore - in good weather - is absolutely beautiful and a great hopping off spot for hiking in the area.
Cons: When we arrived in the late evening the only dinner option was a buffet which was pricey. We could probably have made it to the village to get to the ramen shop before it closed, but didn't want to chance it. So we splashed out on the buffet.

Pros: I enjoyed my stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, with a good choice. The Onsen, open through the night, is great. Having the free laundry service is another positive, and really appreciated. The free taxi service to the JR Station, another plus. Overall I like the atmosphere. It is relaxed and pleasant.
Cons: It is not that I did not like anything, but it was not a cheap place to stay, and I stayed mid-week. The basic amenities are provided in the room, but I’ve stayed in hotels where they also provide, for example, a sponge and cream lotions. The choice of channels for tv viewing is very limited, but that is more down I imagine to location. The positive reasons to stay in this hotel far outweigh any negative. This is a very good hotel to stay.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lot of relax even at check in, performed sitting with a drink. Rooms are beautiful
Cons: They promise to deliver breakfast in front of your room at the agreed time. Your expectations climb up, up, up... until you get almost just a soup. If you don’t like soup it’s a sudden delusion.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We liked the location of this hotel. It was easy to travel to and from Sapporo station considering the proximity to Susukino. The breakfast was cute and camp-themed. It was fun to open the thermoses to see what kind of soup we'd receive - over the course of three days it was always different! The staff was always helpful and kind and it made out stay a lot more comfortable.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Located near tanukikoji, extra parking lot next to the hotel, staff are friendly. This place gives you a comfy feelings.

Pros: Has a nice bar on top floor. Great place to end the day. Breakfast was nice....but different......be prepared for a soup. The first day was a shock but then enjoyed it. Shower and bed very good.
Cons: An offer of traditional continental breakfast....but then I might not have tried the Hokkaido Soup....corn was the best for breakfast. Tandoori soup for breakfast was s bit too spicy for that time of day
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location in Susukino, clean, spacious, lodgey feel, rooftop bar is cozy but upscale, and rooftop deck in nice weather.
Cons: Great value because we booked last minute, otherwise it's a bit pricey but an amazing place.

Pros: Food is good
Cons: Food Bed Officer All good
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Bar upstairs was really cozy. Didn’t get to try out the roof terrace (since it was raining). Live music performance was provided, which was really good. Breakfast in a basket, delivered to your door, is a nice touch.
Cons: The location isn’t bad at all, just I little bit of a longer walk from the area with all the restaurants, bars and nightlife. If you don’t mind walking 10 minutes you are fine. Taking a taxi is cheap and there’s even a metro stop not too far, so you have options.
7.5 Good
Pros: Welcoming atmosphere and pleasant bar on top floor
Cons: We had breakfast included but it was some soup and a piece of bread-very basic
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Complimentary breakfast, although only soup, bread and juice it was quite refreshing each morning to have this breakfast. Comfortable beds, great room size, loved the separate toilet from the bathroom and of course the roof top entertainment and facilities were fantastic. The staff were very accommodating, friendly and provided excellent customer service. They greeted us whenever we passed through reception returning to the hotel or leaving. Location is also very good. No on site laundry facilities however directions are provided to a public laundromat which is only a 5 min walk away. My wife and I stayed 7 nights and loved the experience.
Cons: Having to leave.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel - trendy and modern! Very comfortable stay. Loved the happy hour on the rooftop bar. Easy to get to anywhere in Sapporo.
Cons: No laundry facilities (like many other Japanese hotels).

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and I had a room that overlooked Odori koen. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: No complaints!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed only a night there but it was an amazing quality/price accomodation. It’s ideally located, right next to the center without the busy and crowded streets. The lady at the reception was smiling and it was really nice to get a smile right on arrival. They do speak English (or at least try). The room was clean and big, can’t even talk about the bed: we had trouble getting out of it ! It was so comfy !!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location with friendly staff.
Cons: Room was pretty small
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is conveniently located just 8 min walk to the center of Sapporo where you can find many places to eat. The Odori park in front of the hotel provides quiet environment. There is no car park, but affiliated car parking spot is just 2 min walk and reasonably priced at 1200 yen up to 24h.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The beds were super comfy, the room was spotless and we even got complimentary PJ's. Location was great for exploring Sapporo with lots of restaurants nearby.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It is conveniently located where guests could enjoy walks and explore the beautiful Odori Park near by. The Tanukikoji Shopping Arcade and Mega Don Quijote (Don Don Donki) Store is also within walking distance.
Cons: Does not arrange for airport transfer. Had to walk to another hotel to take the Airport Limousine Bus to the airport.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Value for money hotel. The hotel is quite new , clean and very well maintained. It is in a quiet part of Sapporo facing Odori Park. Not too far from the Sapporo Station (about 1KM) and walkable.
Cons: none we can think off
7.5 Good
Pros: The breakfast was excellent with many Japanese traditional foods (including soup curry) and great service by the staff. The location is nice opposite the park. It is a short walk south for some restaurants or north to the station and stores for shopping.
Cons: I expected the room to be much better for the price. It was a Deluxe Double which I booked as the only doubles available were all smoking rooms. The deluxe was not much bigger than other doubles we had stayed at in Japan at far cheaper rates, so the value was very poor. We were also asked at check in if we wanted to pay to check in 20 minutes earlier than the standard 3pm check in as we weren't Best Western members. No we didn't want to pay for the pleasure, so we just sat in the lobby for the 20 mins and then received our door cards. I don't call that helpful or welcoming service when the room was most likely already prepared.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location to main gardens etc
Cons: Bit far from the station and the taxi drivers usually decline taking three foreign travelers with luggage.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and bed was comfortable.
Cons: It would be better if the price would be lower.

7.0 Good
Cons: The manners of the 2 female receptionist (30 June and 1 July) could be better in terms of politeness and courtesy. I was asking a very simple question on 30 June whether I could have a 1 hr late checkout the next day at 12:00 noon, and she answered back quite rudely with just a plain "NO" which shocked me. She could have been more courteous in her reply and in her tone of voice.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Big hotel room with our group. We stay one suit& one twin room. Everything was great. We will come back again if we have a chance.
Cons: Almost nothing

Pros: Comfortable, cleanliness, friendlyness. Also, we had a very good dinner at a restuarant nearby the hotel.
Cons: A little surprised as there was no drinking water as supplementary as usual.

Pros: It was convenient.
Cons: I booked a room with four beds and when we got there he said he needs to charge me extra for the beds when I already paid for it. Didn’t understand why.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: It's fairly near to the subway station, but one station away from Sapporo main station. May have to walk some distance for taking JR. I really like the washing and drying machine in the room. It's useful and I carry clean clothes home.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room is bigger than same grade hotel. It has washing & iron machine inside the room. The breakfast is good and this is the best hotel I ever seen.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Well located. Generally new and clean.
Cons: They stopped giving bottled water compared a few months ago.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Sparkling clean, new bathroom, washing machine in the room, quiet location but close to shops and restaurants and modern furniture and interior design.
Cons: Room size is smaller than what it looks like in the picture.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Bed was very comfortable and the location perfect. Only a 5-minute walk from Odari Park and the train.
Cons: The step out of the bathroom is almost unnoticeable. Easy to stub your toe. Room was particularly small - no place to easily keep open a carry-on sized suitcase. Wish the room had an AC remote - small space easily became too hot or too cold (to be fair, I've encountered this issue throughout 95% of hotels in Japan).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely fantastic location right next door to the main Snow Festival area. Staff were fantastic and we could keep our luggage before check in, free toiletries etc were great, room itself was fantastic with a great view of TV tower. Generally very nice, lovely stay.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staffs were very nice! Really like how the room has washing machine, trouser press, microwave, water kettle, bedside lamps, etc. Over all it's a very nice hotel.
Cons: My bathroom smelled a little when we first went in. The smell was okay afterwards. Hope paper slipper could be changed at least once during my 5-night stay. But over all, the experience was nice.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent. It was close to the subway, restaurants, shopping and most importantly the Snow Festival. I liked that we had a washing machine/dryer in our room and soap was provided so we couldn’t do laundry and didn’t have to pack as much.
Cons: The room was small and I felt we were charged a higher price than the room should have been. It seemed a little inflated and perhaps it’s because we were there during the Snow Festival.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff are very helpful. They can talk and understand english. Overall, the hotel is superb!

9.5 Excellent
Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good.
Cons: The process to cancel and change the reservation was terrible. So i spend a lot of time to explain about situation.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Overall, this was a very nice stay. Reasonably-sized rooms for Japan, pleasant staff, and overall a good value. Being across the street from the Sapporo Factory mall with lots of good dining and shopping options makes up for the fact that it's not very close to downtown (plus there is literally ALWAYS a taxi immediately available). Breakfast, while not included, was still a good deal with their coupon.
Cons: It was farther from the city center than I would have liked, and I would have liked in-room coffee and not only green tea, but that is pretty minor. Our mini-fridge did not work but we managed.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: nothing,都不满意
Cons: Room is small, site is far , hotel is old.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast and I was really comfortable when I was here

8.8 Excellent

Cons: Didn't have safe box in the room
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location is great for shopping and sightseeing! This is my second time staying in this hotel with family.
6.8 Good
Pros: The location to Sapporo station was great, using the underground walkway to stay out of the heat was very convenient. The room was clean. The staff were very friendly.
Cons: The room used to be a smoking room at some point and the smell lingers on. And the bathroom also smelled bad. The bath tub had rust on the drain and the grout was yellow and orange. It made me shower instead of taking a bath. The value for what I got wasn’t worth the price. There are other places with better renovations or newer rooms that would be a better choice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: location
Cons: old facility
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location to train station. Staff is great. We feedback that there is bed bugs for one of the bed, they sent in pest expertise to inspect although nothing found and change the beddings. They still asked if we would like to change room, we didn’t change as it was too troublesome. Bathroom, room size is good considering Tokyo rooms are small in general.
Cons: No coin laundry available.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location
Cons: The room is quite small and a bit old
6.3 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: I had been traveling for 2 weeks by myself and I was ready to go home so I booked this hotel. It isn’t 5 stars by anyone standards. They were nice staff when I first arrived trying to help with my suitcase and greeted me like a5 star hotel. I got there early so I left my suitcase and went for lunch as they say check in time is 3pm and that’s fine. So I went to have lunch and came back around 2.30 and wondering if my room was ready. The nice lady at the front desk was very polite and just said that it wasn’t ready so ok I waited. There weren’t anywhere comfortable you can really sit , no sofas, just seats so i found a nice chair in front of the loos. Until 2.45 I kept seeing people getting their rooms so I went and asked again about my room, the lady who was assisting me was very nice and very softly spoken and said that my room wasn’t ready. Then I saw this family who came on the same train as I did they were about to be taken up to their room(this is now 2.50pm) so I asked the receptionist again why this family’s room was ready. Then suddenly another receptionist just turned up and said No your room isn’t ready and her tone was rude so I turned and said how come this family has a room now, so she just said because they paid an early check in. I understand the rule of 3 pm check in but I just felt like I was being treated badly because I didn’t pay for the early check in. They could be a bit nicer. Maybe I’m just the unlucky one. So finally when I got my room I found the room the bathroom dirty and the towels were not 5 star hotel standard. It’s like 2 stars standard. I called house keeping and the head of house keeping turned up and he was very nice and he spoke English well. He arranged the toilet to be cleaned right away. I told him about the situation I had with this receptionist and he was very understanding and tried to compensate me by offering free breakfast. But I didn’t want breakfast , that’s why I didn’t pay for it from the start.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We received a free upgrade and our room was spectacular. We had a private terrace and garden. The bathroom was unbelievable. We enjoyed it very much
Cons: Nothing. It was great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, lovely classic luxury hotel
9.7 Excellent
Pros: It's located in the heart of Sapporo, it's easy to get around from the location. The room came included with nice robes and slippers. If you can book with the meals I would highly recommend it. There's three excellent brunch spots to choose from with 2 being buffets.
Cons: It was probably because I was staying during the Sapporo Snow Festival that it costs more than $300 a night but it was still too rich for my blood.
7.1 Good
Pros: Good location that was walking distance to many tourist sites, restaurants, and transportation. It had several comprehensive breakfast buffets. Lots of bathroom samples and extras.
Cons: The room itself was clean but felt a bit outdated and worn, especially the bathroom, as did the hallway. Room seemed larger in photo.

Pros: Great staff, nice, clean and functional room, good sushi at the Japanese restaurant.
Cons: I was hoping the hotel would have had a swimming pool!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast. Location. People. Garden. View. All of above were excellent!
Cons: Mini bar policy. Complimentary water is supposed to be supplied one per person per day as other hotels. And it is not informed fully in advance how many bottle of waters are complimentary. Be aware that there were only bottles of water at the mini bar without any signs and it turned out that only a couple of water bottles were complimentary. (Our family were three members). We had to pay for extra water we consumed when we checked out.

6.3 Good
Pros: Comparatively quiet place near a beautiful park
Cons: We stayed there for the first nite in our 10 days trip and another 3 consecutive nites when back to Sapporo before leaving Hokkaido for home. The staffs were not very friendly. Looked a bit cool though they smiled during our last 3 nites stay. It is a bit strange and never encounter such a rule in a supposed stars hotel that we were only given 3 bottles of water (we are 3 adults) free during the whole stay.
6.3 Good
Pros: Convenient location Beautiful park next to it
Cons: Small room A bit old decor and furniture
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The place.
