*Breakfast buffet was well organised *We arrived on Sunday around 18.00 o'clock and the hotel and restaurant both were closed! We had to call the owner and he told us the spot where we could find the keys to the hotel and our rooms. We were looking forward on a nice dinner on location, but the restaurant was also closed. Next to the previous points mentioned (bad organisation) this hotel is very very old. The hotel needs a lot of maintaining and it was very very smelly. Once we arrived in our rooms we had to get rid of some spiderwebs above our beds. The next morning when we had to pay the host was very unfriendly. We had to pay more. This hotel is not allowed to have the name 'hotel', in our opinions. Perhaps the most worst hotel we have ever been to (and we saw lots of hotel
Friendly staff and a nice welcome. spoke excellent english and were very helpful. pleasant pool area which was very quiet making our three days there very relaxing. it is walking distance from several nice restaurants and is only just off the motorway so is easy to get to.
The family atmosphere of the Hotel
Convenience, friendly, comfortable, good value.
Breakfast with the view to orchards, hiking in the surrownding hills...
The owners speak English very well, they are extremely pleasant and helpful. They gave us a free bottle of wine from the nearby vineyard upon arrival and it was great to find regional vodka mini samples for a small cost, to choose what to order. There is an area to get coffee or bakery sweets when desired. The terrace was peaceful with a running brook in the lawn.
It's not a ****hotel with a reception and anonymous rooms, but a comfortable, really good taken care of, family run guesthouse. Clean big rooms in the farmhouse, very well prepared breakfast, home made apple juice, cakes and brandy. Fruit trees, a little stream and big garden surround the building. Very friendly family that runs their bussines. The shower wasn't warm enough.
Very kind owner, very clean, big rooms, quiet area, family but proffessional hotel. Nothing in English (catalogs, tv channels, menu, banners etc).
We staye for only one night, if we could we would stay at least a few days.
very nice hotel. good rooms, pleasent service
Great room in the hotel. It was immaculate, well-presented and the appliances were all of a very high standard. Lovely.
Good start point for trips around, Europa Park, Freiburg, Colmar (FRA), Basel (SUI)
Nice room, friendly staff ,excellent breakfast, child friendly
Nice big rooms with kitchen and balcony, swimming pool, posibility for buying soft drinks etc at the reception
No checkin or checkout issues Cleaning fee was obscene even when it was eventually cut in half. Room could use some updating and the floors creaked horribly. No baking sheet was available as part of the kitchen supplies. Room was not cleaned fully on second night stay. Dishes were still in the sink from when we left. What was my $36.00 cleaning fee paying for? That happens to be what my mother pays her cleaning lady (stateside) to clean her whole 2,000 sq ft home.
Very nice rooms with good facilities. Owner exceptionally nice and friendly. Breakfast is a fine buffet style. Hot whilst we were there and no aircon or fans. Pool has no toilet nearby, so you have to go back to your room.
Swimming pool and the possibility to buy wine or beer at the reception furnuture was a bit out dated
.Very friendly ,very nicely presented, lots of nice and approachable people in the town,we can not stop our selfs from telling relatives and friends how nice a time we had.mrs koehly was very helpful throughout our stay and runs a very nice hotel,we will be returning for a longer stay next year.
The thermal baths down the road!
Nice view and quite area. I stayed 9 nights and no sheets changed, meanwhile Only one time for towels. They charged unexpected 23.00 Eu. for final cleaning fees end of staying and these things was'nt mentioned in your description. They don't speak English.
didn't spend much time at hotel, only to sleep. Didn't realise it was so close to train station and had a train running every hour even all through the night, the earplugs on the pillow were a clue. Also booked a suite but was given a double on arrival without notification.
the kindness and relaxed way of the hotel staff
the food odd smell in corridor and room, but you got used to it.
The food was very good. Also the ambiance was lovely. The bedrooms were a little shabby compared to the downstairs facilities. There was no balcony with the room, so being cooped up in the room at 33 degrees C was not pleasant.
Good breakfast. Pictures at website don't show real conditions. Terrible noise from railway.
the comfort of the rooms and his panoramical watch it was great!
Close to station Close to station
Very friendly English speaking staff. Good Internet. Good and safe parking for motorbike in the courtyard. Good restaurant.
clean, friendly staff
I mentioned that we were travelling with jong child and babybed, maybe that is the reason why we got an upgrade (small suite) for the same price !
Very nice room in romantic setting, I.E. not a boring business hotel along the road but something special and fit for tourists instead of business people.
Very pleasant place and extremely helpful staff.
carpet was very dirty.furniture is old and dirty.
quiet place, large room, large toilet room, very convenient price, not far from the highway exit. the only defects: shampoo was exhausted in the bathroom and there was not a soap. Arriving in late evening I did receive info on the password to login in the WiFi.
A very clean comfortable hotel. The Manager was very friendly and informative. We would tay there agai. Nothing
Excellent staff and warm welcome No
Friendly staff, excellent breakfast Completely outdated, needs a complete repair
Good sized room
Friendly manager and / or staff. A bit overprized compared to our previous experiences in Germany
The room was very large and spacious. It also had a deck and a small adjoining kitchen. I found that the room was very clean and that the breakfast was good value.
Closeness to Station. Our rooms were not 'ensuite' as we had requested and I had to share a bathroom with a senior manager. This was not acceptable as we were on a business trip. I have been advised by the hotel manager that you were emailed that there were no ensuite rooms available and he was told to 'sort it out' as you would not cancel the booking. I will be emailing you about this separately.
The staff was really friendly and helpful; cleanliness was excellent
The location and staff were superb. It is a little out of the way for our purpose as we were visiting Basel but as a starting point for the Black Forest I can't fault it
Excellent quality of the food, service and the room. Everything was very neat. The hotel is clearly meant for those taking a spa in the village, but offers superior value for money for those looking for a place to sleep
Located in a town that has thermal baths. The room was in attic, small. The bathroom was over the corridor where people could pass. Would not recommend.
Nice hotel and nice town in the Black Forest, surrounded by nature. Staff very nice people.
relaxing and winding down from a normal stressful life, staff made my stay a wonderful experience all of them from management to chamber maid are caring wonderful people. always smiling and giving out there joy freely. makes a home away from home. i loved hotel schmid
The excellent breakfast in the morning
Comfortable, big room, price is reasonable.
Nice location by the countryside, very friendly and helpful staff, very good breakfast included, clean room. Ample parking. no complaints
pleasant service and very good restaurant not really
Clean hotel in a small sleepy village with ample parking. We upgraded to a room with its own bathroom, but it was somewhat expensive when compared to other hotels we stayed in during our road trip.
I liked the calm countryside and the exellent breakfast. Their hausmade wine invites you to come back.
We were told must eat at 6.30pm sharp, set meal without any choices, first time in my life I experienced this, very small portion which is also unusual for Germany, and an abrupt waitress, mabye she should have been in the army.
Great little village on the rhine, quiet and peaceful. 5 min. Walk to train station. Hourly trains, 20 min. Into Basel and back, from Basel station 5 min. Walk to Messe Platz, site of Basel Art Fair. Perfect and inexpensive.
A superb hotel; the staff could not have been more friendly, the (set) evening meal in the restaurant was very good, there was a superb buffet breakfast, and the overall value for money was amazingly good. Highly recommended. The small town in which it is located is also very pleasant. Plenty of parking. I really could not fault it.
very friendly staff, excellent breakfast
This hotel was simply wonderful with many comfortable ammenties. Breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately there was no airconditioning and the windows needed to be open for freshair and the nearby train ran frequently.
Beautiful & stunning location, rather like a small hamlet, lovely region. Helpful staff and varied selection at breakfast. Bedrooms very comfortable, clean and some with balcony views, on which we were able to enjoy the scenery before breakfast! Restuarant: evening meal was not available within the hotel, however, the hotel recommended a nearby bistro / pub, which more than catered for our hungry needs! Although a short walk away (no more than 10 minutes) the bistro was well worth a visit. Food was excellent quality and value for money.
we loved every moment in this wonderful familial hotel:the room, the cleanliness, the staff, the free internet cafe, the breakfast, in other words: everything. thank you mrs. Jaks!!!
The kindness of the personal is really very good! no
