Pros:New and very clean. The modern design, comfortable beds and very friendly staff made this an excellent choice for a Berlin trip. In addition the price I paid was excellent value for money and cheaper than the Ibis across the road. The location was interesting too. It is actually on the site of the old Checkpoint Bravo crossing point from the days of the Berlin Wall and there is a small display/area giving you more information about it nearby. If you want a walk you can go to Kleinmachnow or head into Wannsee and both are very nice. If you are travelling by car then it is well served and easy to get to. There is also a bus service serving the hotel from Wannsee and Kleinmachnow though I didn't notice how often they were. They walk to Wannsee is through a wooded area and was a lovely stroll in the good weather. Checkout was at 1200 which is nice and the staff spoke English and were extremely friendly.
Cons:The location is a blessing and a curse. If you are visiting Berlin but don't have a car you need to be prepared to walk or hire a bike. There is a bus service that goes between Wannsee (30 mins from the city on the S-Bahn) and the hotel which has a 5 minute travel time but you are at the mercy of a timetable for travel. There is also an easy to walk route through the woods into Wannsee but it is probably about two or three miles. It is effectively located in an industrial park so amenities are limited though they do exist. In terms of hotel facilities the rooms are probably slightly smaller than your average Travelodge, not that it was an issue. The only real disappointment I noted was that there was no way of making a drink in the room.
