Welcoming helpful staff. Clean and very comfortable room. Great breakfast! Although the food was excellent, there was no snack/light meal menu available in the evenings - e.g salads/sandwiches etc.
i arrived late and the service was oitstanding. staff arranged for room service for both dinner and breakfast bed was too soft for me
Service was excellent and we were looked after very well. Food in the restaurant was of a very high standard. Nothing
room decor tastefully done, food and staff excellent - would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Excellent meals in the charming restaurant. Very friendly and efficient staff, mostly young well-trained eu citzens. Room very comfortable, clean and light. I looked for bad points but was unable to find any!
I would particularly like to recommend the staff who were very hard working, and consistently smiling and helpful. Even when very busy, and we were waiting for a table, they made sure we were helped and informed...and with no sense of the pressure they must have been under. Having worked myself in hospitality and busy restaurants, I know full well how tough it can be, so I really appreciated their friendly service and constant smiles. Small details, which seem petty to speak about considering how much we enjoyed our stay, but such as the light pull in the bathroom was a frayed bit of cord. Lighting over mirror in room made it difficult to put on make-up (essential to ladies of a certain age!. A personal dislike is shower curtains, they cling!
Food was excellent. Room was nice but basic.
Excellent, could not fault it. Lovely room, excellent staff, superb food. Shall certainly return for a longer stay. None
From start to finish the level of help from all of the staff members was excellent. None
Excellent food and friendly staff No communal area in the bar for just having a drink etc - very much a restaurant with rooms
Pleasant helpful staff. Comfortable room. Good breakfast. General atmosphere was very welcoming. Comfortable lounge with open fire.
The lighting in the room was appalling, making it virtually impossible to read. The restaurant food was very good. The downside of this was that there was not much choice, and the menu appeared to be a fairly permanent one, that was retained for a long period. This meant a loss of convenience to guests and loss of business for the hotel, as I should think that a lot of people would, as we did, eat out after the first night.
Excellant location Room small
the location of the hotel was good as it was just far enough away from Harrogate to be less busy and within easy reach of the countryside The hotel was what I would call tired and does need a modernisation. our bedroom was of reasonable size but the bathroom was small and there were damp patches over the bath and shower area. The restaurant was limited no a la carte menu.
reception on arrival was friendly and leisure facilities good one of our 2 rooms was pokey and shabby, bar staff was not friendly, scones in the afternoon tea were stale and exciting breads and chutneys as described in the cheese board were replaced by a few crackers. Also empty food trays were not cleared away from the guest sitting room for many hours
Great restaurant & good staff Room dirty, poor decoration
Front desk staff very helpful. Spa facilities excellent. Food good. Bar service friendly. Location good. Some of restaurant staff were slow and showed little interest in customers, Lacked any enthusiasm for their job.
the food was lovely the health spa was a bit dated and I did not like the way you had to walk through the reception of the spa to get to the pool
Location for travelling around area, either by car or train. English Breakfast was excellent. Staff friendly.
The hotel is very convenient and it is nice to be able to park so close. The slope to the car park was very slippy and could have done with some grit. The bathroom was cold, the picture on the television was very poor.
Bar staff were very friendly and helpful. Room 310 far too small ! Suffocating ! More minor points were no soap in container above sink. Didn't get requested alarm call or newspaper on first morning - computer programme blamed. Although quite friendly, receptionist on Sunday morning very agitated and obviously sadly appeared to be quite out of control, resulting in everyone in the queue shaking their heads.
Central and easy access to town. Private parking Lacking atmosphere especially at breakfast time
Nice receptionist Poor bar cover Dirty unatractive bathroom, air out take fan clogged with dust & skin.
We liked the location of the hotel very much, very central. the hotel itself was great as were the rooms. Queuing for breakfast in the morning as several things for hot breakfast had run out and my elderly father is not capable of standing for long periods so I had to do it for him and also for me.
Spacious, central, excellent parking facility Single room very poor condition and of much inferior quality to that of double.
conveinience to town needs upgrading bathroom poor room cold
Location was good and the bar had a very active crowd. Even the house magazine stated that the rooms needed refurbishment which is apparently planned for some time in the future. The bedroom we had on the third floor was small and the furniture chipped and well worn.
Polish waiter lovely
I didn't enjoy my stay at the White Hart Hotel. My room was cold and most night I was absolutely freezing even with all the blankets on. On the first morning there was no hot water on shower and the draining system made horrible squak noise all the time when shower was on. see above
Staff-very friendly, welcoming and efficient. Room - fine. Breakfast - excellent. Would recommend to others. None.
the cleanliness of the bathroom would need improved, hairs on towels. the curtains looked a bit tired.
Quick and efficient check in/out and accessible car park Felt bar staff were unable to cope at times
Nice and spacious. Very friendly staff. Good position. Windows open which is becoming rarer and rarer. The room service was appalling. When I rang them I was met with 'whaddya want'. The food took half an hour, it was cold and the drink was missing.
Comfort of hotel plus location (ease of access to centre of Harrogate)
Easy to find and park. Good value for money. The five pound charge for parking i feel for guests should be waived.
The friendlyness of the staff's. House keeping. The bed sheets were not changed all through my stay in the hotel.
Easy parking, walking distance to main town centre There was dirty breakfast dishes in hallway that had been lay there all day,
The price of the food and drink!
Dinner not good value - only a cavery was offered. This was priced at £20 if poaid for in advance, but in fact only cost £18.95 ordinarily
Always a nice stay
everything the breakfast was superb, great room evening meal good would definately stay here again
Nice comfortable Hotel in good position, friendly staff and good accommodation with everything needed to hand Room rather small, one would expect a 5' bed in most hotels these days.
From arriving to leaving theHotel we were made to feel very special. We loved it and would definetly recommend the hotel to all our friends. Absolutely notHing to complain about
Pleasant room, nice and clean.
The complimentary wine, water etc in room. Attention to detail. Cleanliness and decor of room.
Breakfast very good,lots of choice
very nice breakfast staff, together with a very nice breakfast
Reasonable sized room with superb view. The Tv in my room was just above my head and I frequently hit my head on it and I am not a tall person. It could easily have been mounted higher or on another wall. ? health & safety issue.
room, breakfast and location to town centre
The hotel was lovely and was in a good location. The food was fantastic We had booked a table at the restuarant before we arrived but when I checked it they said they didn't have it which meant we had to eat 2 hours later than planned. They did give us a bottle of wine as compensation though which was good. There isn't really a nice bar area in the hotel so we went into town for a drink instead. The restaurant was cold
'Old school' hotel in a great location. Fabulous for large groups.
old world characture car parking not very good
enjoyed my visit to harrogate to meet up with family and see events the cairns hotel made it that much better
The quality of the room was excellent very spacious and comfortable, staff very very friendly and saw to any needs very quickly, and the quality of the food both in the restaurant and the bar was fantastic Were not told that there was an exhibition that week and that there would be next to no parking spaces except on the grass which turned to mud in the rain
Warm welcome - staffenabled us to bookin early with no fuss Breakfast uninspirational
Excellent Breakfast no
Convenience, cost, friendly Room was a little bit chilly but ok for sleeping - it was extremely cold outside.
The location was ideal for visiting Harrogate being only 10 minutes walk away from the centre. The twin room I had was comfortable and spacious, staff were friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was excellent with the choice of hot and cold food. The hotel could do with refurbishing as the decor is dated and worn but that wouldn't deter me from staying again.
self serve buffet breakfast
The location was perfect for me, plus the advantage of the carparking on site. The staff were helpful and friendly and the hotel was lovely and warm and nicely decorated. My inconsiderate neighbour started playing very loud music at 05.30, but the staff came and asked him to stop, which he immediately did. This does not reflect on the hotel at all, just on one individual, whom I was unlucky to get a room at the side of!
Very nice room, excellent cleanliness, beatiful hotel arquitecture, excellent location, very good breakfast to satisfy everyone, friendly staff Bar and restaurant staff seemed a bit disorganised
Room changed by reception fron 255 to 266 after booking in, right over a very noisy wedding reception late party noise & vibration till 1pm Reception not interested followed by external noise till 3pm? Drunken revellers. No sleep possible. Bedroom very dark even with all lights on so could not see to get ready next am also no power points near the one dark mirror so not possible to dry hair & see what you were doing. Bathroom cold & huge & bath plug did not fit so bath water escaped. Icing on cake was finding a huge scratch on passenger door of car next am - will never come back to the Crown ever.
staff were very helpfull the rooms were dated and in need of repair with damp on the walls and ceillings missing in some of the corridors
Ambience of the hotel itself some doors slammed shut during the night
The staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed during freezing snowy conditions and the hotel was cosy
front staff was very helpful ask if think was ok when told about the meal we have on friday evening sad he would speck to staff about it and said he was sorry have to complaints about meal and staff ask if we like bill before finsh meal
The evening meal ,cheaper if early. Well cooked, tasty, lovgely dining room. Steak and lamb delicious. Starters excellent. had to park car elsewhere at £10 .p.n
the politeness of the staff some of the corridors etc in dire need of decoration and a rather sour smell of drains permeated the upper floors
The resturant was very nice The floor and room we where in was in need of a refurb as wall paper was coming off walls on both corridor and room
Unfortunately the stay was not good- nothing to reccomend Food was expensive and very poor. Many foreign staff with poor communication skilss, Not value for money
Helpful staff The noise in the corridors from guests and staff delivering newspapers.
Parking and service The dinning area and cost of the menu
Quiet, friendly staff. Food a little dull. Chip oil/very suspect. But on the whole not bad.
Location and setting excellent Evening meal was expensive set against the quality and variety of local competition.
Peaceful and quiet compared to other hotels Poor service at breakfast - not easy to get tea and coffee
The meal we had in the Hotels Bistro restaurant was execellent as was the breakfast. Thought the bed was a bit hard.
Quietness 1 security . 2 Room not made up until 17.00hrs 3 No T.V. reception for 2 days
The staff were very friendly and helpful The chef for the Brasserie was having a bad night - we sent something back which was returned perfect, so no complaints, then we saw 2 other groups having similar problems with food! The way the restaurant staff dealt with the problems was excellent and very professional.
Highly recommended, friendly staff, fabulous place and gardens and nothing too much trouble.
Our stay at the hall was relaxing and luxurious. The room was a lovely, it had a huge plasma TV, beautiful views of the extensive grounds from the massive window, an ultra modern bathroom with a whirlpool bath made for two! The staff were friendly and helpful, the stately home is family run and very intimate. The minibar is well stocked and not too expensive. You are given a large selection of fruit, with biscuits and chocolates along with a varied selection of hot drinks! I would definitely go back!
Stunning stately home, beautiful decor and outstanding service. Rooms are immaculate, modern bathrooms, just perfect! NO
The owners lived at the Hall, they were both very nice people and made us feel welcome, the breakfast was first class and the room excellent.I would strongly recommend Goldsborough Hall to anyone wishing for a first class stop over. none
Complete luxury with first class service.
A beautiful setting and a lovely welcome, a grand house to stay in for a special weekend. Ideal for weddings etc. Would certainly recomend. There is no bar or restraunt however, we knew this before going and although unusual, it did not effect our stay. The staff were happy to recomend several local restuarants which were excellent
Beautiful location. Very welcoming and attentive staff. Personal attention. Rooms top quality. Overall excellent stay. Will try to stay again. Highly recommend. no
The hall has been renovated fantastically and the rooms are really luxury It was a shame that you could not get an evening meal
Impressive old building, very well equipped with ultra-modern technology. Owners and staff very friendly and approachable. No dinner facility, though this is being addressed.
Hotel was just as I expected it to be. Would definately stay there again in the future. Could you extend the Bed, Breakfast & Evening Meal Summer Promotion to include September next year please !!! ??
The room was very good, wonderful bed ! The evening menu was extremely good and we loved the Clocktower conservatory as a setting. The room rate included a delicious & varied choice for breakfast and a complimentary newspaper. The chef is to be complimented on the quality of dining experience and the staff were charming. Nothing
Plush but homely. Decor fabulous. Thoroughly relaxing hotel in beautiful countryside with happy, helpful and very attentive staff in all areas. Comfort, comfort, comfort. Stayed an extra night too. Loved it and we will certainly will be back.
very up to date excellant service abd cleanliness
great facilities, rooms well presented, staff friendly and helpfull
The comfort of the room and the quality of the restaurant
Friendliness of staff Room too warm
The staff were very friendly and efficient. The food was excellent and a good choice to suit all palates.
We were made very welcome, which says a lot these days!Would come back again. The noise from the building site.
The view and the breakfast
The hotel was a very impressive building in a great location, 5 minutes walk from the centre. Our refurbished room was large and comfortable. The Spa was not luxurious but very enjoyable. Overall a very enjoyable stay. Charge for car parking - would rather it was built into the room price. Part of the hotel was being worked on due to a fire earlier in the year but obviously this work has to be done!
evening meal was nice, and fair value for money breakfast was not value for money; cheap toilet paper; no signs saying we could not access path to town (barrier in situ)
special August price and large size of room with good sofa in it!
the room was lovely and seemd to be one of the better oneslots of space for twins (19mths) to run around smell of paint, scaffolding, over priced cold and missing food for room service, bangers and mash very poor quality and choice what you would expect at a marriot, hotle looked tired in pasrt and was vacious, seemd like a business hotel not somewhere to take the family or for a romantic break
I liked it all, 10out of 10
Everything at the Paramount Majestic Hotel (Harrogate) was excellent and i enjoyed my time there.
The staff at reception were particularly friendly and welcoming which set the tone for out stay. The hotel was magnificent in terms of size and space and the refurbished room was of a high standard. The dining room was magnificent and large with beautiful chandelliers and decorative wall features. However, the beauty of the room could not be appreciated because of the ugly clash of colours and patterns on the walls, carpets and soft furnishings. A simple interior design scheme involving harmonious colours and patterns would raise the quality of the hotel. This could be achieved very simply.
Nothing we were in a 4 staff building in a 2 star hotel Bathroom had mouled and tills falling of the walls, iron missing and radiator not working in all a verytired hotel for £130 for room only
Location was just right for a visit to the conference centre, which is just a few minutes walk.
Staff was friendly, room clean and tidy. The luxury room was spacious and nice to have balcony. Was expenting more from the room itself as it was luxury room. There wasn't a sitting lounge area as shown on the internet but a single bed. The bathroom was small and the bed was a queen size instead of double size bed. There wasn't a lift for disabled.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
Room dark, depressing with one small window looking out under fire escape.
Staff were very friendly and location is superb. Smart bar and restaurant. Room and corridors were shabby and old fashioned. Great for a cheap break but no good at all for a romantic weekend. Very clean but in desperate need of upgrading.
The bedroom was lovely and spacious and clean. There was a function on at night but that did not spoil our fun in the slightest, in fact we joined in the disco and had a great time. Not really we would definitely stay there again.
Hotel is well situated for Harrogate town centre just 10 minutes walk away, with some very good shops neighboring the hotel. Staff were friendly and accomodating of our needs. Parking can be difficult with only small hotel car park. Roadside parking is 3 hours after 8 in the morning until 6 at night, pay and display. Restaurant has limited menu and many items did not seem available. We had three rooms, two were ok and the third not very pleasant. The decor of the rooms were themed and a little bizarre in some of the rooms.
Hotel room was of excellent decor although bathroom was small it was clean. excellent position for town centre
Friendliness of staff. Proximity to town and overlooking the Stray. Service in dining room very slow. Room was a bit run down and very dark. Needed some repairs.
Location and olde world design Lack of staff in evening. Inability to serve simple dishes as described in the menu.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was lovely and the location was not too far from the railway station and a great cycling shop. We had a fantastic weekend at our friends wedding. Thank you to all the staff especially the bar man and the cleaners.
The apartment was well-equipped and very comfortably furnished. The decor was modern and of a high quality. It was certainly spacious enough for four adults. It was in a very convenient place for the shops of Harrogate. There was free parking availiable at a short distance away which was welcome.
Lovely relaxing stay in a great hotel - the room was brilliant and we loved all the little touches that made us feel very pampered like the good service, luxurious over sized bath with free bath products and nice treats in the mini bar! Also the location couldn't have been more central. Breakfast was quite pricy - it would have been nice if the buffet part was included with the room.
Stayed for business purposes, excellent - very comfortable and clean and ideally located for conferecne centre. Would have appreciated free internet access.
The room and the retuarant - all were very good Nothing
Well furnished and appointed in a lovely location.Clean, nicely designed room.Good food, with great staff. Like most hotels, the mini-bar prices are over the top.
The ambience and style of the hotel, complemented by the willingness of the staff to cheerfully respond to any queries. limited car parking
the location, the cleanliness of the hotel, and the comfort were the best things about the hotel. oh yeah plus the buffet breakfast!!
The layout and design of the hotel was very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very stylish and clean. Our room was an executive room but was next to the bar and above the kitchen so was noisy at night. Also people from the bar were standing outside our hotel room window at night smoking.
The staff and food was very good old building but very modern in side easy to get to shops Needs a bit of a paint job outside rooms and in
The location, and an excellent breakfast. The main focus of the establishment would seem to be the excellent Orchid restaurant, and the popularity of this with non -residents caused difficlties with parking for those staying in the hotel. There are only 15 spaces allocated to residents on a first come, first served basis. I did not enjoy walking quite a distance from the nearest available space, on two wet and dark November nights! I think the bed linen could be replaced.
Good pan Pacific resturant and easy parking. Close to all places of interest. Little noisy as resturants under room and industrial tumble dryer programmed to come on in early hours in nearly utility room could be heard.
We stayed for my wifes birthday, could not fault it. The breakfast was of excellent standard with good service.
Excellent location, close to town centre, friendly staff, comfortable room, internet access.
Very clean and well run. Excellent location. Would stay again. Nothing.
The Hotel has a very modern feel and breakfast was excellent. Parking was easy as there is a car park and free permits for road side parking outside the hotel. The room was clean to a high standard. PS2 and free internet access in room. We booked an executive twin room which was really very small compaired to what i had expected and right at the top of the building (quite alot of stairs). Sky tv had less channels than freeview does.
second visit to hotel. rooms were great large beds good bathroom. Ate at the hotels Orchid restaurant which was fantastic, breakfast served in same room which was cooked to order, would stay again if in Harrogate
Excellent breakfast and comfortable bed.
Well run, efficient, clean , comfortable public areas. very good breakfast Felt the room was not of a standard we expected for price we paid. No drawers or tables, no shelves, very small "bathroom" Wash Basin being in the room. This was mentioned to the proprietor, and a reasonable explanation was given.
Hotel had a nice lounge with an honesty Bar and was in close proximity to the town centre Our room was very small was more of a single room than a double yet we paid for a double. Wireless Internet although advertised as a fast connection was almost non existant infact my web connection on my Mobile phone was faster. The breakfast room was badly managed and understaffed as there were a number of free spaces at the tables but guests were turned away and told to come back after twenty minutes.
Good Location, good free breakfast. Room was kind of small.
The bar and relaxing tv viewing area. Vacum left in my room.
Very friendly and trusting staff (they have a self service bar that works on a honesty system. A nice touch in this day and age. ), close to town centre, quiet location, excellent breakfast. All in all it was perfect for us.
Easy walking distance to town.Tastefully decorated dining room.Comfy Bed. Room too small and shower cubicle small.
Prompt efficient and friendly staff who checked us in and assisted with local restaurants local map and parking arrangements near the hotel. Also access into the hotel due to late return We ordered a double room and two single beds were pushed together however the bed overall was still comfortable
The location was very good, only a 5 minute walk away from the centre of Harrogate, and the breakfast was excellent.
Extremely well situated for town centre and conference centre. Quiet street, available parking and close to main line station. Friendly, helpful staff, excellent breakfast. Single rooms not as good as doubles and probably noisier.
Great accommodation very friendly Comfortable beds very good for shopping
Friendliness of owners. Convenient location.
Very helpful owner, laid back but efficent, great breakfast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
personal touch, great breakfast, friendly staff, room was spotlessly clean and warm and comfortable
comfortable bed, good host, proxemity to town centre
Friendly owners and staff made us very welcome, comfortable and clean rooms, excellent location for visiting town and International centre
Excellent as usual None
The beds were really comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. The host Dave was very welcoming. The garden was delightful for this time of year with a lot of decorative wellington boots all sizes, patterns and colours with plants adorning them. No complaints
The quality of hotel for the price and the location
The guest house was very warm, the room was also very warm.It was quite friendly. Nothing really, apart from I am a disabled lady and the bedroom was upstairs, but this was my fault as i did not make this clear when booking.
