Pros: Everything was perfect. I only stayed here because of the 2 previous reviews I saw and they were spot on. Host was amazing and take her tip and go to the fortress resteraunt. After staying in all these over priced dumps targeting tourists it was nice to find a place that was the best value for money in Croatia.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent value for money and the host was very welcoming - Would definitely stay again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very convenient for local supermarket. Well situated for local tourist attractions in two national parks (with lakes, waterfalls and in one a Roman ampitheatre) and for the highest mountain in Croatia. The hosts gave first class advice regarding all of these. Choice of local restaurants. Welcome drink and electric kettle provided for use by guests. Good for an overnight stop if en route.

Pros: The check-in was very easy as the host waited directly in front of the house. She also provided interesting information on the nearby city and the national park where her help yielded a small discount. As a welcome gift she provided some cookies and a drink.
Cons: The house is not in the city center so it might be helpful to get there by car.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Marko and his family created a charming place, with skillfully made rooms in old wine barrels. We enjoyed the excellent wine and food. Thanks for the warm welcome and good talks!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Marko and Antonija are great hosts, we had a lot of fun in this uniqe accommodation. Home produced wine is excellent!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We loved the welcome from Marco - the roon was very clean and quaint! The pool was perfect (I had it all to myself) and the restaurant was pretty and comfortable.
Cons: Not as picturesque as the online pictures make it as there are lots of old cars next door
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Marko is wonderful! An amazing sense of humor. His very simple meal was so very homey and satisfying.
Cons: Pillows were hard. A few mosquitoes in the rooms.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location is adequate to visit the KRKA NP at the Roski Slap entrance. Quiet, country side accomodation. Unusual shape of the rooms. Fiendly personel, if you are lucky to meet them.
Cons: Higly overrated, far too expensive. Removed 4 bugs before went to sleep, overal clenaliness is not comparable to a hotel. The pool was not maintained (inadequate for getting in, even after we cleaned up the dead floating insects). Sound isolation close to tents (You see the outer light around the door). I would say this is rather two star. No fridge/minibar in the room, there was no shower gel provided. Altough there is a good built-in air conditioner it is useless, cooling the room upfront (when you are out) makes no sense, and it is not comfortable to run it while in the room. Barel-room is a good idea, but the realization was far from what we expected.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quirky accommodation with a beautiful pool. I highly Marco’s lamb dinner.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Marko the owner was lovely and couldn't do more for you. His food and wine was delicious and his hosting was familial and he made us feel very at home.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved our one night stay in a wine barrel. Marco and his Team made us feel very welcome. Arrived mid afternoon to be greeted with a wine tasting from their own vineyard and fresh figs. The converted wine barrel was clean and comfortable with all facilities needed for our stay. In the evening we enjoyed a typical Croatian dinner served with Marco’s wine. Definitely a highlight during our road trip around Croatia. If I could rate this place 20 out of 10 I would!
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Amazing! The hosting couple was the most warm and welcoming people. Literally from before we got out from our car. They offered us homemade snaps and coffee. By far the best place we stayed in Croatia. It is not a luxury hotel, but that is not what you expect when you book a place like this. The room was really big and contained everything we needed. Good parking options. Nice patio.
Cons: No

Pros: IN TOWN.
Cons: AIR CON WORKED BUT NOT VERY WELL.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The location and the friendly staff
Cons: Very basic beds, pretty uncomfortable... Quite noisy room very loud neighbors, we can hear them through the wall... We hear a lot the traffic of the street in the room also. The room was very small and pretty dark. We found it too expensive for what it was.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was spot on, modern bathroom, comfy beds, and good location (right near the Fortress), The restaurant was great too, really good food at very cheap prices (especially compared to Dubrovnik where we'd come from).
Cons: Turn the (i think it is) immersion heater on outside the bathroom door, two of us showered in the cold water before realising this. Other than that, I cannot complain.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location is good. Easy to find.
Cons: Price for quality.

7.9 Good
Pros: Restaurant downstairs. Very central location. Affordable price.
Cons: Very bright neon sign, felt like Christmass :D. Breakfest was very basic but then again better than nothing. A bit outdated but absolutely fine for night rest :).
7.5 Good
Pros: Close to the supermarket. Good staff. Reasonably priced. AC works!
Cons: Smells a bit off from the constant pit roasting of pigs and lambs. But I would still say it's the best hotel in town.
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: I have booked room months ahead but when we were arrived all available rooms was already rented. The lady on reception was surprised when show saw us. Seems they are not even checking reservation made over booking.com. Finally they gave to use dirty (spare?) room smelling on smoking and moisture and even dirtier bathroom . It was disaster! The worst hotel I ever been into! P.S. The guy (boss?) at the end gave us discount because according his words "he is in good mood" (or maybe he saw in which mood we are)!
6.7 Good
Pros: Our rooms and the hotel in general were very clean. The reception at the front desk was nice. The Wifi seemed to work well although we not on it much. Upon checkout my husband complained about lack of hot water and demanded a lower price on our rooms. The clerk agreed and reduced our fee.
Cons: The air conditioning was not working well and there was no hot water at all in our bathroom. The receptionist did not seem to know this. I believe we may have been among few guests staying in this hotel.
7.1 Good
Pros: The stuff is kind and helpful.
Cons: Sheets are little bit old and hard.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The roast pig, lamb and chicken was excellent. The staff was superb.
Cons: This was a heavily discounted room because it was in poor condition, was sparsely furnished, had no wifi and the blinking hotel sign was outside the window. Road noise was significant during the day and early evening. Wifi is only available in the restaurant area (first floor).
Hotel Mihovil - Knin - Building

5.8 Okay (40 reviews)
7.1 Good
Pros: This place met my expectations but mine were pretty low. I researched the Knin area prior to ending up here and most hotels were only 2 stars and looked really dumpy and run down. This place was a 3 star at best but the only game in town. I had decided not to stay in Knin in general but bad weather and dropping my motorcycle made me change my mind. The staff were fantastic! No complaints there. I had a nice dinner with a mixed salad and that was very good as well. The location was nice in that it was some distance from Knin which did not leave me with a good feeling. Now the lousy weather and dropped motorcycle may contribute to that so make sure you read what others have to say.
Cons: The room was pretty dirty. While the floors may have been clean enough, corners had cobwebs and live insects and I killed at least a dozen small flying mosquito looking things, one large caterpillar that supposed falls into the stinging variety and a huge daddy long legs looking spider. I did not enjoy staying in this room. My only other complaint is in line with my complaints for all of Croatia. This nation is one big smoking section. Even indoors the guests would smoke. I am especially sensitive to this but if you are a serious non-smoker, you may want to skip most of Europe in general. This is one area where the USA has everyone beat. We may shoot our schools up, but you can breathe smoke free air.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location, comfortable bed, clean, great breakfast, friendly staff.
Cons: Nothing
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: As we didnt get a chance to say here nothing !
Cons: I had to pay for the accommodation in advance with no refund. When I got there they didnt have a room that I paid for. There were 3other peopl in my group im the same situation. When asked why this had happened the manager/ owner shrugged her shoulders and said she has had no bookings in our names. This was prover to be a wrong as another employee in the hotwl showed us the bookings for the hotel and all our names were on there. They also do not have triple rooms or suites as there website is advertising. When we asked for our money back the management refused and told us to go through booking.com to get our money back. On asking her to cancel our booking she refused shook her head and walked off!! Leaving us without out room our money, absolutely disgusted with the way we were treated. Do not stay here !
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Very little to like about this hotel, but it is one of the only hotels in Knin.
Cons: The hotel does not offer all of the room types listed on booking.com - it did not have any triple rooms, which resulted in our group not having enough rooms and people who were meant to have their own rooms having to share. After an argument with the extremely unfriendly and rude receptionist, we accepted the twin rooms that allowed everyone to have a bed for the night as we had no other option. Despite telling us they had no rooms, you could still book a room on booking.com - this hotel needs to be investigated by booking.com as they are providing false information. The rooms were not of a 3 star quality - they were very basic, with horrible bedding (itchy blankets and thin pillows). The bathrooms were very dated, with the shower bracket in our room being broken so we had to hold the shower head when having a shower. The breakfast was extremely poor, with horrible coffee, juice that was just placed out in cartons and the hot food in a metal tray that wasn't heated and rarely replenished. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and I urge booking.com to look in to information provided by the hotel on the booking.com website.
6.7 Good
Pros: We stayed the night at Hotel Mihovil as it was close to the Knin Fortress which my husband wanted to see as well as the surrounding area for historic reasons. I'm sure the hotel was a gem in it's former years but even though it is showing it's age the owners are keeping it clean and as maintained as they can. The gazebo in the back (looks very new) was great for our evening meal which was very good and plentiful The country setting is quiet and lovely to see all the surrounding greenery and hills. Everyone was helpful and friendly and the breakfast which was included was good. After all our sightseeing with lots of walking and stairs during our 21 days in Croatia and Slovenia it was so nice to have an elevator. Internet and television reception was spotty as you are in a valley surrounded by majestic mountains. Oh, speaking of Slovenia, put it on your bucket list as Lake Bled is a must to see.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The hotel is situated a biot outside of Knin centar and provides enough car parks. They do provide a restaurant with great and recommendable local cuisine for affordabloe prices in nice seating. Beds were quite okay, but everything else belongs to the "don't like" section.
Cons: Unfortunately, the rest of this property is completely neglected, probably hasn't been cleaned since years and spreads the charming of a 1970s hotel that never received refurbishing since it's very first day. The employee at the check-in desk behaved somehow rude and told us instructions that reminded me to military commands. The room itself was relatively small, but that wouldn't have been the problem. Obviously, cleaning just happened superficial; I found dead wasps, spiders, dirt and so on not only in the edges. The room refrigerator had neither been cleaned for ages and something was moulding in there - definiteley a No-Go. Bathroom is in the same shape as the rest of the room - neglected. Shower head couldn't be attached anywhere. Breakfast summed up this desastrous property: The first day, coffee was served from the bar (as the coffee on the buffett was already gone cold), the other day were we offered coffee from the buffett (probably the cold one from the previous day). No personnel around, just showed up to see that we're there and then went hiding somewhere else. Breakfast itself was ugly and probably unhygienic conditions. Juice and milk were "served" in 2 liter cans which I identified as the cheapest bunk stuff from the discounter, scrambled eggs were burnt (AND cold), milk was provided unrefrigerated. This property should be reported to authorities for hygienic testing immediately.
