Pros: Nice staff and great environment / atmosphere in the restaurant. Loved that.
Cons: The air conditioning did fail at night and there was a mosquito. I prefer it when there is a mosquito net in the space for these situations. Also there was no taxi waiting at the airport as promised. They paid my taxi on arrival but I would have preferred to know this could be the arrangement.
Pros: AMAZING staff! They were very friendly, polite and helpful and made me feel at home (for 18 days) Very clean facilities and great ambiance The restaurant serves delicious food Good location
Cons: Card machine was not working Internet was a little spotty Breakfast was minimal - could add fruit Laundry list needs prices
Pros: Beautifully done rooms, garden and restaurant are also nice to relax, dinner at the restaurant was the best we had in Benin. The driver who picked us up at the airport (Kevin) also was very welcoming and helpful to us in our later travels
Cons: They kind of forgot about us still being there on the last day but the staff who remained managed to help us get checked out, breakfast could also be improved to be on par with the rest of the food that they offer
Pros: Everything. Nearby everything someone could need. The café downstairs saves some trips to eat and the food is great. Friendliest staff i’ve seen in my entire life. Very cozy place. Beautiful decor, the pictures don’t do it justice
Cons: Nothing bad to say
Pros: good breakfast and good restaurant
Cons: staff is chatty in the restaurant, need to be more professional
Pros: Nice staff. Trendy lobby area and restaurant. Good Wi-Fi and room facilities. Good communication by email.
Cons: Nothing. Was a pleasant stay.

Pros: Breakfast was simple: coffee, bread with butter and jam and fruit. Room and individual bathroom quite big. Location in a residential area.
Cons: I have to go outside to get connected to the wifi. Also, the mattress was super hard and the pillows very thin. And the nights I went out and arrived late at night, I have to call the landlord as no key was provided to the main entrance.
Pros: Great Location close to Center of Cotonou
Pros: We loved our stay here! Lovely BnB with English-speaking staff, great and safe location, and comfortable room with air conditioning and private bathroom. Breakfast was simple but tasty. Would return without thinking it twice!
Pros: Most amazing host. She made me feel more than welcome. She added home made dinner and servings on the terrass in the afternoon and evening. She arranged for driver to take me on a day trip and went out of he way to ensure both quality of destination and programme, the drivers english skills and the price for me. I could not have done this by myself. She was also present for the most amazing conversations. Truly value for money and experience beyond what one could in any way expect.
Pros: Value for money and excellent home made food.
Cons: Cannot think of anything to complain!
Pros: The B&B is located in a well off neighbourhood near to the GIZ and Swiss Development offices as well as close to the German Embassy, so it feels secure for foreigners to walk around without any issues. It is a small B&B run by an older lady who was very friendly and welcoming when I arrived. The room I stayed in was clean and well equipped with AC, a fan, a desk with a chair and a large bed (with a mosquito net over the frame, unlike many other places with AC). Breakfast was pleasant with bread, butter, jam and fresh fruit as well as juice and coffee (nescafé as per usual in Benin). Also, it is within walking distance of the Marché des artisans. I felt really welcome at the B&B where you notice that it is only small (with 3 rooms) in a positive way.
Cons: There isn't so much choice of places to eat directly near the hotel (compared to Cadjehoun) but there are still enough places that this isn't really a problem.

Pros: Didn't have time to take their breakfast.
Cons: Some of the staff members(receptionists) were very rude to me and doesn't deserve to be working at this great hotel. Was in a rush and not able to get their names. They were the last two lady receptionist i met on Sunday afternoon before leaving the hotel since i had to leave a little later than my time and had to pay for a half day.
Pros: The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a great place to relax in the evenings. It is well maintained and clean with good facilities.
Cons: Wifi was a bit patchy, but that is true wherever you stay in Benin
Pros: Absolutely decadent! Excellent service, exceptionally clean and comfortable.
Pros: Amazing staff and service Nice art
Pros: Lovely boutique hotel only a few minutes from the Cotonou airport, easy access to the rest of the city. Staff were exceedingly friendly and welcoming, and the pool was a great end to humid weather days. Room was very comfortable and clean, and the restaurant's dinner specials were exceptional, with great breakfast as well.
Cons: Some wifi issues, but that's par for the course, and the hotel had technicians on staff at all hours to troubleshoot.
Pros: Simply the best hotel in Cotonou! Nice feel of a boutique hotel, well designed and decorated. The staff was very professional and very helpful.
Pros: Great atmosphere if you are looking for a peaceful getaway.
Cons: Air conditioner dint cool to my satisfaction, bathroom sink was leaking.
Pros: Had a few issues on the payment. Having booked on this site, expected that payment was completed. Had to pay at the counter again. I expect the payments held refunded.
Pros: The ocean view is wonderful and food is excellent.
Pros: the ambience
Pros: The food was great.
Cons: There we mosquitos in the room, but the hotel provided me with a mosquito net

Pros: Great staff! Comfortable stay :)
Pros: Breakfast was good but it was the same stuff for all 3 mornings, I would have appreciate variety on each day. We got an upgrade to apartment at no extra cost.
Cons: It was difficult to locate the hotel, I think the hotel phone numbers and landmarks should be updated into the contact. The place needs to be fumigated, there are alot of mosquitoes in the room.
Pros: Very clean with a friendly staffs too. We had a pleasant stay and We will definitely return to that place.
Cons: No complaints
Cons: They were very poor in English Speaking.
Pros: Modern and clean
Cons: Breakfast is scanty
Pros: The staff's friendly disposition and the neatness

They have a well equipped central kitchen. A seren & peaceful environment. Lovely location with free WiFi which made our stay very comfortable. I will definitely be there again.
Pros: The ambience was fantastic!
Pros: The team of Tichani is very good and they are friendly. I was happy to be with them as it was the first time to travel to Cotonou.

Pros: Price was good, Central to tourist attractions, food was okay but a little overpriced for water and beer. They were nice to drop me off at the highway to get a taxi to Grand popo.
Cons: There's a good ceiling fan in the room but it still gets hot at night. There's no AC or floor fan. There's no mosquito net but they did have coils. No wifi so I just used cell data. No hot water but so hot outside didn't need it.
Pros: Staff is extremely helpful, great food, beautiful setting.
Pros: It was a charming settings.
Cons: The restaurant service was extremely slow. We were waiting for a cup of coffee for an hour and when the passage of Nescafé finally arrived at out table, we still had to wait for the hot water :( No Internet No mosquito nets.
Pros: Pascal and all other members of the family are really nice hosts including good advise and a special evenning tour with their Kidds (for free). The rooms are clean and nice.
Cons: It is a bit warm during the night in the huts although the ventilator was a good one.
Pros: Super friendly and helpful staff, very nice and relaxing place
Pros: This is a super chill guesthouse run by Pascal and his staff are awesome. The breakfast is good and the garden is lovely. Easy to walk or moto to the centre.. I went to the voodoo festival which was very disappointing. Other than that Ouidah and the Jardin Secret are perfect. No wifi but so what!

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. This hotel has 2 meeting rooms available for events. Pros: Its in a quiet and private location
Cons: The room was small but it was clean and air condition and hot water working well....It was value for money....the staff was nice and even provided me with ice for a drink i brought in.
Pros: The staff were very friendly; special mention to Hassan and Mohamud who made it so easy for us to move around for business despite us not knowing French. The place is super clean, very close to the beach, fast internet. Just awesome for business or holiday trips. Great value for money and I highly recommend it
Cons: Need for more variety for breakfast and have your menu in English. Add CNN and Aljazeera to your cable TV though you already have BBC.
Pros: Staff was super helpful and friendly. Wi-Fi was lighting fast
Pros: This is a very wonderful hotel. The managers are wonderful. One of them used his own car to drop Is at Dantokpa to get a ride to the border
Cons: Nothing, everything was perfect I would recommend this hotel to everyone visiting Cotonou
Pros: Very kind and welcoming staff at the hotel. We were able to pay by card, got helped with documents we had to print and enjoyed the service of staff helping us to get phone credit. The room was spotlessly clean, there was hot water and a balcony. Also we were allowed to charge our electric motorbike. We ate several times at the restaurant of the hotel and enjoyed the meals. All in a all a very good place to stay for the price.
Pros: Friendly staff, nice and spacious room, hot water.. I just felt comfortable..
Cons: Little noise around the hotel but it was okay
Cons: 1 h and 10 minutes to be served a coffee and a croissant is too much, even for Benin! At 6 am I was awaken by a bunch of hotel workers, they were wrapping up some boxes and couldn’t be more noisy.
A stay at Bénin Royal Hôtel places you in the heart of Cotonou, within a 15-minute walk of Artisanal Center and Cotonou Central Mosque. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a business center, and express check-in. Planning an event in Cotonou? This hotel has facilities measuring 2691 square feet (250 square meters), including a conference center. A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary (available 24 hours).
Cons: Very bad service the ac not working the place smells bad the room is very small and old swimming pool full of people from outside the hotel breakfast is vey bad and poor of food selection
Pros: The staff was super helpful . They arranged to get SIM cards for us, transport to the market with directions written in French and dinner recommendations. The rooms were clean.
Cons: The hallways were a bit dingy
Pros: The staff was extremely helpful and efficient. Couldn't have asked for better logistical and other support. They made my stay in Benin go better than I could have wished for.
Pros: Breakfast was ok.It was s buffet with variety
Cons: I saw a cockroach in my room.Secondly on the morning of our departure breakfast was not brought to our room as requested and agreed upon the previous night with the chef and the poor attitude of the chef on the morning of our departure in the breakfast room. There was no apology for failing to bring breakfast to the room even after several calls. In addition most of the channels were in french without English subtitles, hence we couldn't watch TV Finally the room was too small for the huge amount of money paid for the hotel stay
Pros: It has the trappings of a good hotel - concierge service, airport shuttle, attentive staff etc. The rooms are nice and modern. Highly recommend the little extra for a balcony, which was great.
Cons: Except for the rooms the building is tired; it was probably great 20-30 years ago but less so now. The restaurant feels kind of oppressive to be in. Not much life to the place. If you ever wanted to live out one of those post-apocalypse movies where they hang around in a crumbling grand hotel then this is the place for you.
Pros: The breakfast caters to a variety of diets
Cons: We should have the option of having cold water not just room temperature for breakfast.
Pros: The swimming pool and the views from the gym.
Cons: I was given a musty smelling room on the second floor, no natural day light since it faced a dark dirty courtyard. No windows, no views, very sad experience. Staff at the reception were quite unfriendly too, not too willing to help. Gym had really old machines, none of them were working properly.
With a stay at La Casa Del Papa in Ouidah, you'll be 6.4 mi (10.3 km) from The Museum of the Zinsou Foundation and 7.1 mi (11.4 km) from Sacred Forest of Kpassè. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Beautiful, serene, quiet. The perfect getaway. Hisham the manager was so nice and helpful. I’d definitely comeback again.
Pros: The environment is so clean cool and calm. Staffs were very helpful and show so much care. I forgot my hand bag that contain my credit/debit cards, National Identity Cards, Drivers Licence, purse with cash, and some other valuables in the car that brought us. The security and the entire staff try all effort to make sure I got this bag back, but every efforts prove abortive. But luckily for me, on check out and heading for the park, the cab driver sighted me on the bike and flash us down to return the bag to me with all contents intact. Our stay here was very lovely.
Cons: Too far from the road and the city of quidah. The hotel should operate city shuttle for client without personal car for like 3 times a day because is difficult getting out of the place. Also, the kitchen should be made to operate 24hours rather than just operating on a meal timing because guest may be hungry at any point in time.
Pros: The resort is beautiful
Cons: the location to the resort is very poor. the roads should be worked on to make the journey a bit more pleasant. very dark and dodgy especially as it was raining and at night. The menu should also be improved. The breakfast was very limited. not much variety...
Pros: Location of the place is paradise. Close to the touristy sites and markets. Make life easy. Reception staff very good, assistants very helpful, rooms very clean. And location beautiful easy with kids. Breakfast buffet is good Dinner buffet very good too. The new Manager is very professional and knowledgeble about hotel and restaurant hospitality.
Cons: The lunch time ordering from the menu was a mess. Waiters mess up orders, simple food like fries , spaghetti bolognaise took an hour☹️ and at that time no waiter came back to ask if we need more drinks The bolognaise was bad too.
Pros: The pool was nice. It is the nicest thing you’ll see in Benin but does it compete with other beach resorts internationally? No. It’s very basic
Cons: It’s really far. You can’t walk anywhere and moto taxis take a hour to arrive. I’m glad i only stayed there a day, or i would have been bored out of my mind since there’s literally no activity on site. There’s the beach but you can’t even swim in the ocean because it’s too dangerous.
Pros: It’s was comfortable, nice and clean. The staff were friendly.
Cons: There was No fridge, and no adaptors for charging as their sockets were all round mouths
Cons: I think during the raining season they should make umbrellas available to guests considering the structure of the resort. When it's time for breakfast, lunch or dinner it's hard to get around when it's raining
Pros: The property was well managed , very lovely location and ambience. Very serene and clean. The restaurant manager was very professional
Cons: The receptionist was very rude. They don’t have a shuttle bus or car to convey you to and fro to the airport. A receptionist Mr Guy by name , was very rude and he connived with a cab driver and we got arrested on the property. We asked to speak to the manager but he lied that the manager doesn’t want to speak to us. We called a cab driver a day before our departure and bargained with him on conveying us back to the airport. We concluded on an amount. But when he came the next day the receptionist told him he asked way too small and he should increase the amount by close to 50%. We said that’s not what we bargained for and he was being rude so we can’t pay the amount he is asking for because we concluded on an amount a day before. He said we had to follow him or we will pay him for coming. We said we can’t pay for a service that wasn’t rendered. Then he went ahead to invite the police and we were taken to the police station the receptionist ( MR Guy ) locked his door and didn’t allow us talk to the manager. We had to pay him almost the amount we bargained for at the police station without him conveying us to the airport. We had to get another cab driver and paid another amount of money. That’s really not a way to treat your guests and my wife was really scared and traumatized when we were arrested.
Located in Cotonou, Azalaï Hotel Cotonou is by the ocean, within a 5-minute drive of Cotonou Cathedral and Cotonou Central Mosque. Featured amenities include a business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. This hotel has 10 meeting rooms available for events. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided at no charge.
Pros: Hospitality and friendliness of the staff and prompt response to orders.
Cons: Their inability to communicate in other languages other than French. It might interest you to know that your hotel is an international hotel so staff should be able to communicate fluently in the major languages like English and French (which of course they all speak). There is no car wash(lavage)in your facility which is very important.
Pros: The bathroom
Cons: The air conditioner and the TV Set and Channels
Pros: Not much
Cons: The welcoming was terrible and they had no room available for me although they had confirmed everything was ok in the morning they wante to send me to another poor hotel. The next day they said they would pick me up at 8h30 but they ended up comimg at 10h30. Never been treated like that sonce 6 years in west africa
Pros: Only the location
Cons: Everything starting from the uncomfortable colors to the rudeness of the receptionist , party on the pool with the loudest speakers and the rooms windows are not sound tight nor mosquitoes tight even
Pros: The high level of security and very professional and extremely friendly staff. It was a family.
Cons: The towels were to dirty and and very old. That was very unfortunate. Made an excellent hotel unpleasant The buffet was too expensive and lacked variety. The restaurant should competitive to other top rated restaurant.
Pros: Very well located, good installations
Cons: Wifi dis not arrive to my room. Expensive meals
Pros: Staff very kind
Cons: No vents in Bathroom, mold in corners , the place needs improvement, lack of DECOR power in hallway is off very dark! Bed was hard like a box spring, not comfortable. Food overpriced, I have to say this as I was very upset, they allow PROSTITUTES on premises as one approached my husband, they hang out in LOBBY and at the Bar outside in evening, I went to restroom and she apparently approached my husband he laughed at her and told me, and I went to her a had words with her and she went inside,. I paid for 10 days plus family visiting another 3 days, and I tipped over whelming, and was very dissapointed in the PROSTITUTES, DOESN'T LOOK GOOD NEVER HAD THIS EXPERIENCE IN A HOTEL VACATION EVERY NOT GOOD FOR THE PEOPLE THAT SYAY ,! also the Security is great with one exception, a guard approached us by the pool in the evening and asked us for MONEY he said he was hungry, I gave him $500 cafers BUT was taken back!
Pros: Very nice food. But the restaurant was very stingy with the buffet. Very strange. I have never seen any thing like that. Counting pieces of chicken in a buffet
Cons: 2nd floor was terrible! Dump, soaked moldy ceiling that was sickening. I informed the hotel about the urgency to fix it
A stay at Hôtel Villa Les Orchidées places you in the heart of Cotonou, within a 5-minute drive of Artisanal Center and Fidjrosse Beach. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary (available 24 hours).
Pros: The bed was very comfortable and my room was really clean. The staff were also excellent and friendly.
Cons: The bathrooms for the restaurant smelled bad. The food was a bit expensive.
Pros: The breakfast was nice. the receptionist was nice too
Pros: I liked the location of the hotel. it was close to the event venue of the wedding we came for.
Cons: The Wifi was epileptic. The hotel charged 10,000.00 CFA per extra bed used which is high. 2 rooms were not available upon arrival. Lack of empathy on us as regards amendment of booking and outstanding payments as trip was reduced to 3nights.
Pros: Well maintained property ,2 pools ,restaurant on site ,excellent menu ,very professional staff always smiling, speaks english ,airport pick up and drop was on time .No complaints at all.I recommend this place for a business trip.
Pros: Staff was incredibly friendly. I’ll be back.
Pros: Breakfast was on the rooftop with city view
Pros: Cosy and clean rooms, though the bathroom was in need of renovations. Good WiFi. Excellent, fresh breakfast with croissants, superb omelette, fresh fruits and juices and real, strong coffee. Dinner selection in the evening was very limited. The staff in the restaurant, especially the cook, were so friendly. The hotel features two sparkling swimming pools, open 24/7, which are so relaxing and refreshing. All staff very friendly, professional and helpful.
Cons: Location is good for various embassies, the parliament building and the Sunday evening beach party nearby, but otherwise locals shops and services are non-existent. Transport is easy to find. The hotel has two drivers of a very different stock. One driver, although certainly a nice and well-meaning person, seems to be a bit disorganised and nonpunctual. Eventually the ride will work out well, but you can expect delay and confusion, be it an airport pick or a day hire (my two cases). The other driver is charming and delightful.
Pros: spacious rest room and room, nice staff, two small pools (one bigger would have been better)
Cons: poor breakfast choice, poor aeration in some rooms, no moustiquaire
Pros: Restaurant is fine but breakfast neads real improvement
Cons: The room and the bed set are really clean. The fan worked properly as was the TV and the internet connexion
Pros: Good breakfast. Good location

Cons: No mirrow in the room and the television in the room outdated
Pros: Nice clean room
Cons: Road can be very noisy
Pros: The location was quite clean when I arrived but ...
Cons: I was surprised that no one cleaned the room over the three days I have stayed there. The bathroom was a challenge as I was obliged to use a bucket and collect water to bathe. There was no hot water since the system was not working. They seemed to ignore it but it idiot not seem to be a recent damage. I did check with others and they too did not have hot water in their rooms as well. I was told it was dependent on sun. Breakfast was very basic. Well for the price paid perhaps one should not expect more.
Pros: quite place, no noise
Cons: no food, the resturant is not avaliable for lunch and dinner, have to go outside for the food.
Pros: For one-two night stay it's perfect.

Pros: Friendly and helpful staff. Great swimming pool. Lunch and dinner meals were good.
Cons: Wi-Fi could have been better. Need more variety for breakfast.
Pros: The food was fantastic
Cons: The hotel needs a serious makeover. The rooms were very old school and there were cockroaches in the bathroom.
Pros: Breakfast was great. We had to pay extra to get eggs but other than that, it was good.
Cons: The room could do a lot more with the decor. It's a bit too simple.
Cons: The room was very unkept and dirty. You have to walk across the street to get to the restuarant and bar I spent the whole night being bitten by mosquitoes There was no Wi-Fi connection in my room and so I had to stand outside every time I wanted connection
