9.0 Excellent
Pros: Awesome location. Fantastic breakfast. Above average gym.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Loved the staff. LOVED THE LOCATION. Loved the breakfast. Would definitely return and recommend.
Cons: The carpet on the room floor needs to be renovated.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent. The location was perfect.
Cons: The room size was very good. However, there was no bedside table(s) to put personal belongings such as glasses, watch, water, medicines and so forth. That was quite inconvenient. I think the room had enough space to put such tables. The second issue may not be directly related to the hotel's operation but during our stay (2 nights) we were annoyed by the noises from road constructions conducted very close to the hotel even at midnight.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff, ambience and location
Cons: Nothing to complain
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was amazing
9.2 Excellent

Cons: I wish there was a step-free access when you have luggage. The staff try to keep a look-out for guests arriving, and I appreciate that this hotel is in an historic building and can't be altered, but the steps are steep!

3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The breakfast buffet was nothing more special then an average good Thon or Scandic hotel. But quite nice with a la carte eggs Benedict or similar. My eggs were average good made, nothing to brag about, but again, nice with a la carte made. The girl that served us was very nice and accommodating. In contrast with the guy at the reception the night before, who couldn't care less about the parking problem and probably gave us a bad room just to excercise his power over a client who complained about parking charges and was tired and a bit annoyed after a long drive from the other side of the country. If Bergen was in Star Trek, it would be Ferenginar, and people from Bergen: Ferengi. (though Ferengi is more hospitable)
Cons: This one is a tourist trap. Overpriced and without style. Overhyped. Nothing special about the hotel. Almost every building in Bergen is historical, nothing special about the hotel building. We needed a hotel with parking, but was asked for 400 kr. for parking after we booked!. And they couldn't even take our car, even though we told them it was a big car. Street parking is eight times cheaper! The room was dusty, I could draw faces on the cupboard doors on a thick layer of dust. And the dust was everywhere. The table with teakettle, cups and wineglasses was placed near the curtains, and as my wife opened the curtains it was almost disaster as the curtain dragged the wineglasses with it. Bathroom: as you open the shower door, it doesn't open more then half the distance. Then it crashes into towel hanger. A potentially broken glass door in the shower is a disaster in waiting. Hopeless planning and design of interior. We got only one set of shampoo and shower gel, had to ask for another. I think at this price level, it's not supposed to happen. The robes had a sticker on them: hygiene cleaning April 2018. What? They hasn't been cleaned since then? As mentioned above: overpriced and overhiyped.

Hotel Norge by Scandic - Bergen - Building
7
9.0 Excellent (994 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Hotel Norge by Scandic is one of Scandic’s unique signature hotels. Our hotel has the best location in Bergen, right in the heart of the city. Here you’ll find everything from exciting shops, cafes and a rich cultural life, to spectacular nature experiences within easy reach of the hotel.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel's location is excellent! It is within walking distance to most of the attractions and shopping was just a stone's throw away. The famous Briggen and Fisherman's Wharf was a mere 5 minutes walk! Many eateries and convenience stores were also nearby. Transportation was also easy and I could take the bus to some of the attractions like to Ulriken cable car station. Checking in was a breeze and the Reception staff and manager were super friendly and helpful. My room was excellent with a fantastic view of the lake nearby and the bed was so comfortable. The Breakfast served was one of the best that I have experienced in Europe. The spread and choice was excellent, the coffee was excellent and I would definitely recommend that guests book with Breakfast! Overall I am very happy with the Hotel and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone going to Bergen.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is in the centre of Bergen and has a nice bar en restaurant. People in the reception are very friendly and helpful. Rooms was clean and bed was big enough (210 cm long) and comfortable.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and facilities
Cons: I had choosen the hotel by two reasons: 1) location and 2) parking and despite I placed my booking months ago, I didn`t get a place for parking into the hotel and I received poor help from the front desk to get a public parking. I should do it by my own and back the hotel under the rain. Then, to pick up the car for leaving I asked a taki at the front desk but after it failed, no more help received from the hotel (again), so,I had to get a taxi by my own. Due to street closed which made difficult to reach the hotel, we carried out our lugagges to the parking. Of course the hotel didn`t support us with any discount or paying the taxi or making up in any way for all these inconveniences.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Amazing breakfast
Cons: The room was like a space capsule, felt clostrofobic
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: none
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Service great, restaurant food and service outstanding, rooms comfortable and good amenities.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect for exploring Bergen - so close to everything. Unfortunately, there was building works outside, but that can't be helped. We weren't' initially happy with our room, but complained and were upgraded by the lovely staff easily. I left my watch in the room on check out and Sivert and her colleagues were so helpful with returning it to me and went over and above, which i am really grateful for. The staff here are so helpful and polite, couldn't ask for better. Breakfast was AMAZING!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The decoration and artists sense of the owner and the helping and guiding attitude of the owner.
Cons: I liked everything.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location especially for Hurtigruten. Anne was very friendly and welcoming. We were grateful to be able to store our bags there while we explored Bergen. Clean and cosy room with private bathroom in a traditional house full of character.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Anne was a wonderful host. Breakfast was a feast and she made a breakfast in a bag to take when we had to leave early. It was enough for both breakfast and lunch. The position was close to the places we wanted to go.
Cons: The bed is a sofa bed - had a bit of a slope. Still reasonably comfortable.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The host was wonderfully kind! While the room is within a home, you have a separate entrance and private bathroom. Very nice setup! Would recommend for the excellent location & price.
Cons: Room was very small. Difficult to fit our two bags alongside the pull-out bed. You don't necessarily need much more but it was a bit tight at times!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: So homely and cozy. Great to be greeted by a real person, not a corporation.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great friendly welcoming host, beautiful old renovated property. All good
Cons: It was all good
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location. The cleanliness and the friendly staff. Its a unique experience to stay in a traditional family-run hotel.
Cons: The size of the room was quite small for the price.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Being a small, private hotel, the staff seemed extra-friendly and personable, rather than the polite but business-like attitude at the larger chains. The location was good, facing an attractive park and still easily walkable from the city centre and good restaurants. The dining room is one of the most impressive ever, and the lounge, open all day with free drinks and biscuits, was nice to use. Good breakfast buffet selection, including a few Norwegian delicacies to try. Some reviews have complained about the neighbourhood and the park being a little dodgy at night, but we experienced nothing of the kind.
Cons: Rooms vary in size but not price, due to its conversion from a private home. Said conversion not always being done as sympathetically to the old house as possible, but generally okay. Parking is so limited we returned our rental car early rather than muck about, but the house, and the neighbourhood, predate car usage so that's not altogether surprising. Some noise does filter into the room from upstairs, but only (we think) when the shower was in use--pipes noise, it seemed like. It was never a real issue, however.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Helped me to find a parking spot
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely assortment of breakfasts. And great coffee machine available all the time
Cons: My only complaint is that I like a very hard mattress and these were relatively soft

2.5 Mediocre
Cons: Don’t have cleaners personal. Don’t have hoteling facilities
5.0 Okay
Pros: The jacuzzi and sauna were nice but were unstaffed and not looked after. When we got there the towels were empty and it seemed like a free for all. The views from the room were nice.
Cons: The hotel has a confused identity - it tries to be a luxury retreat in some respects but then the execution is extremely poor it also positions itself as a corporate meeting location for business so I’m not sure what the hotel is trying to be. Our beds weren’t cleaned when we got to them one had a valance sheet, the other didn’t (in the same room) and there were nail clippings and hairs in the bed!! the rooms were full of dust and even when we changed rooms it was still filthy.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast. Comfy beds. Spa & Sauna.
Cons: Location far from Bergen city. 45 minutes drive. Must have a car. Nearest supermarket 5 minutes drive. Hotel has free parking.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast. Comfy beds. Spa and sauna.
Cons: Location far from Bergen city. 45 minutes drive. Must have a car. Nearest supermarket 5 minutes drive. Hotel has free parking.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The setting is out of this world. We were in a Fjord Suite and I can honestly say the view was one of the, if not THE, most beautiful views I have ever woken up to in my life (and I have traveled a lot). The staff could not do enough for us. We absolutely loved it. The hot tubs were a real plus as well - popular with the whole family.
Cons: The fitness cube was a little basic and could do with some maintenance work - particularly on the floor.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel Nice spa Possibility of diving in house reef and other dive spots quite near
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great view and Outdoor Jakuzzi were great! Staffs were friendly and the room was big enough.

Overview Reviews
A stay at Zander K Hotel places you in the heart of Bergen, within a 5-minute walk of Leprosy Museum and Bergen Art Museum. Featured amenities include a business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely breakfast included, friendly staff and lovely hotel interior
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was small but very efficient with plenty of room for baggage. The bathroom was well designed. The shower did not overflow, the sink was large and deep enough to wash out a few things and the floor was heated so everything dried quickly. It is 100 meters from the train station and a short walk into the center of town, The breakfast was delicious and plentiful with good variety. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: There are some glitches because it is new (or newly refurbished). The elevators run a little slowly and the door locks have to be checked because they don’t always lock when you leave.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: There was certainly a wide variety of items for breakfast, we especially liked the croissants & other pastries, as well as the bacon.
Cons: My wife loves scrambled eggs, but yours were so salty she could not eat them.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: During my whole trip I looked for accommodation near train stations. This one was very close, yet top class. I do like the history of the place
Cons: Well I can't fault anything. After all I had researched at booking.com and found this place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was wonderful - not so much choice as to be overwhelming, but a good variety of dishes, well prepared and well seasoned.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location (just outside the train station), friendly staff, wide selection of food for breakfast, 24hr complimentary coffee/tea at reception, heated bathroom floor.
Cons: No kettle (but available upon request), no glass/cup in room, no fridge, no view (face backyard), room size is a bit small (a bit challenging for 2 big luggages to be fully opened)
9.0 Excellent
Pros: the delicious rainy day burger in the restaurant near to center and light train
7.0 Good
Pros: The location is a key plus doing Norway in a nutshell if you don’t want to be missing the train. Apart from that there isn’t many things to do around the area, it’s 1-2 tram from Bergen city.
Cons: There’s no facility
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Met by friendly staff at reception; secure access; fresh room appearance; fabulous bathroom products. Check out was very early and was was given a breakfast bag to take. Coffee & tea available that was appreciated. Very impressed with the brief accommodation.
Cons: Disturbed by other guests. Assuming teenagers who didn't consider others.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Proximity to railway station Breakfast Friendly staff
Cons: Rooms are quite small
Klosterhagen Hotell - Bergen - Bedroom
14
8.8 Excellent (845 reviews)
8.3 Excellent
Pros: the staff was kind and the breakfast was excellent
Cons: The size of the room, for three people was very small and because it was on the top flor, the constant rain made to much noise
7.5 Good
Pros: We liked the breakfast.
Cons: The t.v. was very confusing to use.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rich breakfast, nice food and drinks. Friendly welcome with tea & waffles. Spacious clean room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Comfy, friendly hotel. Well located too and decent and varied breakfasts.
Cons: Small and spartan rooms. The size isn’t an issue for a short stay but could be for a stay of over more than a few days.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: All of the staff were very accommodating and pleasant to work with
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The windows in the room had a huge gap, so the room was constantly cold. Also, my room was located ON the stairs landing. I could hear everyone walking up and down those stairs and bumping onto the door/walls. They were very helpful in providing me with an extra duvet. The breakfast was great. Also, they had homemade waffles in their restaurant that you can help yourself to, which was a nice touch.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We loved the breakfast (amazing BBQ chicken meatballs!) and the complimentary waffles with jam in the afternoons is a great touch. Location was perfect for walking into the centre of Bergen and the area the hotel is in was lovely. Staff were helpful and friendly and the hotel is a lovely old building, tastefully decorated and everywhere was well kept. Rooms were tidied daily. Ensuite shower room was very nice.
Cons: Unfortunately the bedrooms were disappointing. We came for a week with quite a lot of luggage as we were planning on doing a lot of walking and the weather was going to be very mixed. So we really struggled for space for all our stuff and move around the room easily. The wardrobe space was pitiful and there were no drawers or shelves to put anything despite space on the walls that could have been used for some clever storage ideas. My husband had to live out of his suitcase all week and we had to put piles of clothes on the desk. The shower room was lovely but the size of the sink and the towels provided were disappointing. We found the room a bit too dark and lighting could have been much better (bedside lamps and main light were not good).
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were brilliant and even put breakfast on early for us as we had to check out before the breakfast is usually put out
Cons: Nothing!

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room with good bed, small but adequate. Good location on the wharf so could pop back for a coffee if wanted which was complimentary all day as were waffles and tea in the afternoon. Friendly staff, nice seating areas in reception area. Excellent choices at breakfast.
Cons: There was only one waffle maker so if everyone arrived at once for afternoon tea and waffles there was a long queue to make your own waffle. We though booking a hotel with dinner included was a good option as eating out anywhere in Norway is so expensive. However the food was of poor quality. The soup and salad were fine but the main, particularly on the second night was poor. A couple of bony chicken wings and cold rice. in hindsight it may have been better to just book a hotel who offered BnB.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Elegant yet cozy. Decorated beautifully down to last detail. Includes candles flickering morning and evening plus beautiful fireplace afternoon and evening. Chandeliers sparkle. Rooms appointed likewise. Staff outstanding. We needed a doctor visit. They arranged easily. AND room price includes delicious extensive breakfast AND a light dinner which is much more than light— delicious, good for you and you don’t get stuffed AND waffle snack and fruit all afternoon. Lastly, perfect location!
Cons: Nothing

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was really nice - better than we were expecting. Location was pretty good in relation to the harbour - near shops and restaurants. Breakfast was really good. Facilities in the room were great.
Cons: I don't think there was anything!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Position of hotel was very central in a nice area. Room was very clean and comfortable - ours had a good view to the front too. Loved the artwork around the hotel!
Cons: 'Hot' food on offer at breakfast could have been hotter rather than just warm. No hairdryer in room unfortunately. Limited selection of English speaking TV channels.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location is fantastic - short walk from the light rail station and to the harbour
Cons: Check in at 3pm (or later if room isn’t ready) really isn’t convenient especially if you are on an overnight stay. I also found the hotel generally quite dark which is probably part of the overall design but made it hard to see!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Most everything!
Cons: Noisy at night if you have a room in the front of the hotel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff, chefs and their food, location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location for us - just off city square. We were going on a Hurtigruten Cruise and wanted to see the Bergen for a day before. This was 5 minute walk from the light rail which came from the airport, 5 minute walk to Old Town and a 5 minute walk from the Hotel to the Hurtigruten Cruise Terminal. Great Boutique décor. Small room by American Standards but we know it was average size for Europe. We ate at the hotel restaurant in the evening and it was really good! Guests get 10% off meals. Breakfast in the morning was a generous buffet. Loved their fresh squeezed orange juice. They held our luggage while we toured more of the city in the afternoon, after checkout.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Wide variety of fresh and cooked food for breakfast. Accommodated my gluten free needs.
Cons: Bathrooms are very small.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good in restaurant downstairs. Room was quiet. Bed very comfortable.
Cons: We had booked a superior room & I thought it was tight. Tiny cupboard space. Small bathroom etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything from the friendly and knowledgeable staff to the excellent food. It was all amazing. The proximity to City Center was a bonus.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast, clean room, a bed you can sink into -- but with lots of support for the back.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: location is good, next to train station, 15min walk to central city (torget fish market, bryggen) good breakfast old classic hotel but reinovate room, family room is large and comfort food at bar is good
Cons: bathroom design, is not easy to access to bathtub, too high
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Closed to central train station, old town, 10 min drive to the Fjordline harbor... The staff at the reception is very professional and helpful. Got free up-grade to the suite room. Clean and cozy. Great breakfast... Absolutely recommendable for tourists!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is fantastic - across the road from the train station and close to the bus terminal. It is only a short walk to Bryggen and the funicular. We had a superior double room and it was spacious and comfortable with every facility. We found the staff to be amazing - so helpful and courteous. Breakfast is fantastic with a great range.
Cons: Can't really think of anything much - to be picky, the soap doesn't come out of the dispensers easily and the bath plug is hard to get to seal. Neither was of any consequence to us.
7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel itself is great - nice building, spacious room, good bar in the lobby, perfect breakfast, the greatest location (1 minute from Bergen station). Also, I found the personal greeting note on the table. That was so cute!
Cons: I was there for one night, but my room wasn't soundproof enough because I was forced to listen to some loud opera singing and piano playing until 1AM, so I managed to sleep only 4 hours before breakfast+train to Oslo. Seems like the live concert was at the lower floor or in adjacent building or something. It would have been nice if the staff considered that and offered me more quiet room or told me about the concert before I moved in.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel full of character and near the station
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The hotel location is very easy to access. Breakfast is great!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Historical feel and proximity to train station
Cons: Wifi, room rate
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Alle in all, excellent, from start to end.
Cons: Nothing.
6.3 Good
Pros: Good breakfast, nice interior, nice with coffee and tea in the lobby (all thought no tea cups only small coffee cups) , spacious bathtub, good tv Nice attention with water, fruit and bath bomb in our room upon arrival.
Cons: Very noisy, and we had to change room because we could hear everything happening in the floor above, as well as next door. The bed was not a double bed but two single put together. Pillow was poor and not comfortable. The staff were not smiling or greeting except the nice lady that was cleaning our floor.
7.3 Good
Pros: Good beds and warm bathroom
Cons: I missed a waterboiler to make coffee/tea in the room.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The common areas in the hotel are quite nice as is the Whisky bar. The best feature of the hotel is its location, close to the train and bus terminal. Five minute walk to the waterfront.
Cons: The rooms are quite plain. We booked a triple room which turned out to be a double with a cot. We were expecting a pull-out couch from a sitting area in the room.
6.0 Good
Pros: Some of the rooms are very small. Once shifted to a usual size room the accomodation was good. Ease of access, good breakfast, pleasant old charm make this a recommended hotel.
7.0 Good
Pros: a lovely well cared for and very central to railyway station also liked complimentary tea and coffees
4.3 Okay
Pros: Nice old building., with some early XXth century charm in the lobby.
Cons: Rooms are very small, with no real place to put your luggages. And the most extraordinary aspect of the rooms is that they lack any form of bedside tables: you have to put your glases (with your alarm-clock, your glass of water) on the floor - and just beware not to break them when you wake up. We had booked for 2 nights; we left after one,
5.6 Okay
Pros: The location is good, nice basic clean rooms. staff was nice. Free tea & coffee in the lobby.
Cons: Breakfast on one of the days we stayed wasn't refilled fast enough, at some point we felt like almost all food is finished, and only after a long time they refilled the breakfast. The hotel provides 2 computers with Internet. One of them didn't work, and the Internet didn't work half of the time on the other one.
7.6 Good
Pros: The hotel is close to the bus station (for airport bus), close to the railway station especially if you are going on (Norway in a nutshell trip), 10 min walk from the city center....The staff are friendly and helpful..Also good breakfast.
Cons:
5.6 Okay
Pros: The old, but very nicely restored bar and dining areas was lovely, very majestic.
Cons: There was no wardrobe space in the room and the bathroom was very wet as the water didn't drain properly
6.8 Good
Pros: Good location, good breakfast, hot drinks available free of charge, helpful friendly staff.
Cons: Lounge decor rather old, dark and heavy
6.0 Good
Pros: Close to everything, clean room, nice bed

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved everything about this hotel! Beautiful rooms, comfy beds, great facilities. Amazing breakfasts! Friendly staff.
Cons: Getting my bag up the stair case.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A wide selection of breakfast items laid out in the characterful kitchen. Cooked dishes were also prepared to order on request.
Cons: Blackout curtains would have helped to keep out street lighting in the bedrooms.
7.1 Good
Pros: The breakfast was very good, lots of choices and a very friendly and willing person was there to help, even cooking things to order. The bathroom was very nice, clean and luxuriously modern. Comfortable bed.
Cons: There was no information given beforehand that the reception for Villa Terminus was at the bigger Hotel Terminus next door, which meant that I lugged my suitcase up a long granite walkway and staircase, only to find the door bolted. Then I lugged the suitcase back down, around the corner to the other side where it was equally locked up tight. So I went to the next open door, the Hotel Terminus where I was told that "Yes, this is the reception here." My room was up a very narrow steep stairway. There was not enough lights in the room and the one standing lamp felt dangerous to operate so I unplugged it. The little refrigerator sounded like someone quietly snoring in the corner -- all night. Not good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved everything about the feel of this place. Very good hotel, would recommend staying again. It's a minor thing, but the soap is amazing.
Cons: The room we were in had an awkwardly angled ceiling which made showering difficult. Nothing you couldn't get used to or accommodate.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Over rated , bathroom small , looks better on internet than it was . Great breakfast , but no facilities in room to have a coffee or tea. Access to the kitchen was good
5.0 Okay
Pros: At a very central location in Bergen. Authentic historic building.
Cons: Room and facilities not very suitable for business travel: a dark attic, no restaurant, no bar, no reception, street noise.
7.5 Good
Pros: Fabulous breakfast
Cons: Rooms are rather tiny yet very design and comfortable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Small but lovely room. Bed was very comfortable, Aesop-products in the bathroom. Really nice breakfast with bread from my favorite baker. And a special thanks to the sweet breakfast chef who made my seven years old daughter a “dessert plate” with fruit and macrons since it was her birthday. Such a lovely gesture, thank you!
Cons: Nothing.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Really good breakfast with a wide variety of dishes. Sauna, spa, gym, children playroom, pool table at the lobby are nice extras. Electric kettle available to the room on request at the desk. Excellent location for a business trip - 2 train stops from the airport (6 minutes ride), worse for sightseeing (ca. 30 minute train or bus ride to the center of Bergen). Supermarket nearby (500m).
Cons: No minibar or even a fridge in the room. Old windows were far from hermetic at least in my room.

Cons: Very limited choice of food at the restaurant no Norwegian dishes
